The odds of the war resuming in Lebanon should be seen as low. Hizbollah is controlled by Iran, so if the war in Iran resumes, it probably mostly depends on what the USA wants. Iran will not agree to a negotiated solution that can be accepted by Israel.

I believe it will be difficult to avoid using AI in the near future within many professions.

In just one year, I have personally noticed that it has become incredibly much better and more efficient (besides the tools for using it have also improved). This specifically applies to programming, which has fairly fixed rules but at the same time is very complex. My guess is that virtually all programming will be AI-assisted in a few years.

It will be more about being able to write the best prompts than coding yourself.

Of course, you can easily miss bugs and security holes if you don’t review the code, so it also applies there that you understand what you’re doing. At the same time, it is quite clear when AI completely fails because it shows if it doesn’t work. 

The problem is that everyone seems to think AI can solve all problems already today, just because everything sounds so credible even though it can be completely wrong.

If you use it for programming, you quickly understand that those shortcomings exist, but as I said, it has progressed very quickly. 

I ran a conversion of a very old project where I changed the codebase from one programming language to another. I would never have bothered to take that on without AI assistance. Manually going through and rewriting several hundred code files would have taken enormous time (besides being incredibly boring). Now it took one day for a first conversion and then another day and a half to fix the places where it wasn’t correct. I ran it as a test and honestly didn’t think it would go as smoothly as it did.

Yes, that has (rightly) worried quite a few. Just like any tool, AI can be used to cause trouble and unfortunately it is starting to get so good that it can become an uneven race.

AI is a tool where a person gets help and then checks.

That’s how engineers have done with the programs we’ve used for years – manual verification.

Right now, everyone is being fired and then AI is allowed to replace them – guaranteed reemployment after a few years.

Already, researchers and others have tested AI and they are wildly off.
