Russia once again uses phosphorus as a weapon

Russia has resumed using phosphorus, video showing how it is used against the city of Kostiantynivka. Phosphorus is disgusting even if it is not quite as horrendous as thermite. Phosphorus is not allowed to be used as a weapon and definitely not against residential areas where civilians may be present. It is permitted to be used in tracer ammunition and flares or to generate smoke in smoke grenades, etc.

Hungary now positive towards Ukrainian EU membership

Ukraine has signed an agreement concerning the protection of the Hungarian minority in the country, which in turn has led Hungary to announce that they will not block Ukraine from becoming an EU member. This may also be related to the Druzhba pipeline now being restored so that oil exports from Russia to Hungary and Slovakia have been able to resume. Hungary has also indicated that they may be willing to host peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.
Relations between Hungary and Ukraine have rapidly improved since Orbán lost the election. This can only be interpreted as it was he, and not the Hungarian population, who sided with Russia. Although Magyar has previously stated that they are not willing to provide weapons and money to Ukraine, as long as they do not otherwise oppose Ukraine, it is much better than before. USA may approve 8 billion USD for Ukraine

In the USA, despite opposition from Trump and his administration, a proposal regarding continued support to Ukraine amounting to 8 billion USD was advanced. The motion to proceed with the bill was passed with 218 in favor and 204 against. Six Republicans broke party lines and sided with the Democrats.
The process was long blocked by Mike Johnson, who as Speaker refused to bring up the issue (which is not the first time for those who remember the 50 billion USD he blocked for over half a year while Biden was president), but now it has finally been possible to move forward, though it must be approved by both the House and the Senate to become law. Since Trump became president, US support for Ukraine has decreased by 99%. Read more here.

8 billion USD is significantly more than the 400 million previously budgeted, although of course much less than under Biden, and the question is whether it will really pass both the House and Senate; it requires some Republicans to dare to oppose Trump for it to happen.

The attacks on the Tambov region targeted, among others, the JSC Progress Plant factory which manufactures high-tech equipment for control systems in aviation and missiles, but oil and gas pipelines and other infrastructure are also reported to have been hit. Read more at Kyiv Independent.

Glory to Ukraine!

The 1554th day of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun.

A total of 296 combat engagements were recorded during the past day.

According to detailed information, the enemy carried out 76 airstrikes yesterday and dropped 239 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy used 7,089 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,568 shellings against settlements and our troops’ positions, including 36 with rocket artillery systems.

In the last 24 hours, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of Ukraine’s defense forces have struck seven areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, one cannon, and another important enemy target.

In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, the attacker conducted two airstrikes yesterday with six KAB bombs, as well as 87 shellings against our troops’ positions and settlements, including two with rocket artillery. Nine enemy assault attempts were recorded.

In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy attacked 13 times our units’ positions in the areas around Staritsa, Vovchansk, Vilcha, Graniv, Ternova, Lyman, and Kolodiazne.

In the Kupyansk direction, our defenders stopped five enemy attempts to advance towards the settlements of Kupyansk, Kurylivka, Borova, Kolisnykivka, and Novoplatonivka.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy tried 12 times to break through our defense towards Lyman, Drobysheve, Dibrova, and the area around Yampil.

In the Slovyansk direction, the enemy stormed eight times towards the settlements of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryva Luka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy carried out an offensive action in the area around Tykhonivka.

In the Konstantinivka direction, the enemy conducted 26 attacks near Konstantinivka, Ivanopillia, Pleshtchiyivka, Rusyn Yar, and towards the settlements of Mykolaipillia, Vilne, and Kutcheriv Yar.

In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 53 assault attempts from the attacker in the areas around the settlements of Nikanorivka, Kotlyne, Horichove, Novooleksandrivka, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, and Udatsne, as well as towards the settlements of Shevchenko, Bilytske, Serhiyivka, and Novopavlivka.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attacked once, in the area around the settlement of Novohatske.

In the Hulyaipole direction, the occupiers carried out 35 attacks in the areas around the settlements of Dobropillia, Zlahoda, Hulyaipole, Solodke, Pryluky, Zaliznytne, and Staroukrainka, as well as towards Nove Zaporizhzhia, Kvitkove, and Charyvne.

In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders stopped three enemy attempts to advance towards Shcherbaky, Stepnohirsk, and Bilohirya.

In the Prydniprovsk direction, the enemy attacked twice towards Bilohrydyi Island.

In the Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups have been detected.

Ukraine’s defenders continue the systematic destruction of the enemy and effectively resist on all front sections.

In total, the Russian invaders’ losses over the past day amounted to 1,000 personnel. In addition, one tank, three armored fighting vehicles, 39 artillery systems, one rocket artillery system, ten ground-based missile complexes, 1,307 unmanned aerial vehicles, 271 vehicles, and three units of special equipment were destroyed or damaged.
