“An oil refinery outside Moscow has been attacked by Ukrainian drones. This is stated by the mayor of the Russian capital according to Reuters.

Shortly before the statement, which was originally published in Russian state media, video clips of huge smoke clouds above Moscow began to spread on Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels.

The Ukrainian defense drone division also posted on X consisting only of two emojis: a fire and two eyes watching the fire.

The X account Osint Defender writes that it is the Kapotnja oil refinery that has been attacked. The refinery provides up to 40 percent of the capital’s fuel and has been attacked several times during the summer.”

** BREAKING: A large-scale drone attack targeted Moscow and the Moscow region overnight, on the final day of Russia’s parliamentary elections. One of the most notable targets was the Moscow Oil Refinery in Kapotnya, where a major fire is visible this morning. The refinery has a processing capacity of around 12 million tonnes of oil per year. It was last heavily struck on June 16 and 18, the refinery was forced to shut down.
