Tonight, I recommend everyone to read Malin Ekman’s Substack today (google, free post). She has been a correspondent in the USA (Svd or DN) and quit because she wasn’t allowed to report the truth, for those who are wondering.

Then the USA wants us to contribute 5% to NATO but not themselves, of course not. Europe has been ignoring the agreement year after year, so now they want Europe to shoulder a bigger burden. It’s called facing the consequences of one’s actions.

I think the line taken in this thread is very reasonable – it’s time for the EU to take responsibility and stand up.

I guess that’s what we’ll see in the future because now it seems like the dam has burst completely.

It has definitely been the USA’s strategy before that the EU should not rise and the USA should keep the lead, but after this debacle, I think there will probably be a positive outcome.

I’ll come back tomorrow morning with my thoughts on this mess – I think we should actually be satisfied.

The difference is that I don’t believe Trump planned for this positive outcome at all, and I also don’t think he’s playing a double game with Xi and Putin 😀

Make EU Normal Again

If Trump just wants to give a kick in the butt -> Strengthen the defense!
If Trump is crazy and abandons Europe -> Strengthen the defense!

In other words, we don’t need to agree on how to interpret the Trump machinery because the outcome will be similar anyway.

Putin must be pleased with the campaign against the USA that is ongoing on social media, sometimes one wonders who they consider to be the biggest villain, Trump who criticizes Europe or Putin who wants to conquer Europe.

It’s time for Europe’s leaders to pull themselves together and examine themselves.

We also need to reform the EU and get the UK back on board. Let go of much of the bureaucracy and regulation that the EU is busy with and focus on free trade, security, and make the EU a strong voice.

For the record, the above is my opinion and not a self-proclaimed expert commentary.

Trump is a bulldozer and his administration is a bunch of unconventional guys with loose jaws. But did it help with Mes-Biden and his political equivalent of speech police? Not a damn thing! Then we have to try something else! Everyone knows what the definition of idiocy is, yet they want to continue!

The EU needs to wake up! We must become independent. Cut the umbilical cord.

The talk about the USA leaving NATO (France did too but came back):
If the USA leaves, there will be serious consequences for their arms industry. The EU will not buy from them.
The EU will become a bigger and more powerful international player, does the USA want that?
The USA will be completely deaf and blind towards RU as the EU will not share information unnecessarily.
However, Trump’s statements seem to be setting fire under the EU countries, which is probably the intention. Stop pretending that eternal peace still exists, grow up, change your diaper, and move from words to action, EU!
