Conditioning the recognition of a Palestinian state on Hamas surrendering is good, but I doubt they will give up as long as there are hostages remaining, and I also consider the population of Gaza as hostages.

Then, what do the rear fall-back lines look like? Are there natural terrain obstacles? Is it built around dominant terrain? Often, borders are natural fortifications – that’s how borders have come into existence. If it’s not natural terrain obstacles lying outside the ancient established oblast borders, then it’s a problem.

Completely understandable that they want to get rid of HAMAS. I would be happy to see them disappear.

But the idea that the civilian population is not suffering is Israeli propaganda.

Do you really think that everyone who sticks their neck out and announces that they intend to approve Palestine as their own state, despite Trump and the USA being against it, would do so because they have been deceived by AI videos that HAMAS has put together?
