Dear Ukrainians, there will be good decisions to support Ukraine this week. We are preparing them now. I continue to maintain contact with all our partners who can help us, who are always active. I will be speaking with Denmark today, I will be speaking with Lithuania, with the prime ministers. Tomorrow there are important negotiations in Britain. This week there are also negotiations with the European Union. There will be support packages for Ukraine. And we are also moving forward in negotiations regarding accession to the European Union. This week is the opening of two clusters.<\/p>\n

Two have already been opened in the summer. And by the end of the year, we must open all six negotiation clusters. This is our plan. And this is a priority. This is political and moral support for our people. This is proof of the irreversibility of Ukraine's course. To be a normal, to be a strong, to be a European country. And we are also working to ensure full financial support for Ukraine, for Ukrainians, for the fulfillment of our agreements with Europe. Today I want to thank the parliamentarians and thank our government officials.<\/p>\n

This week there are necessary decisions, necessary laws, necessary government decisions. Thank you.<\/p>\n

We are also working on air defense. Yesterday, unfortunately, there was a ballistic strike on Kyiv. Regarding this strike, there was no warning from partners. Usually, such a warning exists. And this is a very significant thing. It helps our defense. There were five ballistic missiles.<\/p>\n

In fact, our armed forces saw them only a few seconds before the strike. And that is precisely why we tell our partners that their cooperation with Ukraine provides more protection of life, allows more people to be saved and stops Russian killings. Our military and intelligence services must cooperate at a full level.<\/p>\n

And from our side, everything necessary is provided. We expect the same level from our partners.<\/p>\n

We are also in constant communication with the American side. Our teams are talking, and we must work toward peace, we must seek options for correct actions. Ukraine is ready for a meeting; Ukraine supported the President of America on the issue of an energy ceasefire. It is necessary, it is necessary that Russia also be part of this agreement.<\/p>\n

Our team has sent the American side corresponding proposals regarding possible future meetings, future conversations. In the coming days, we are ready to meet. I conveyed this proposal through my team, conveyed it to Siva Vitkov and Jared Kushner. On the Ukrainian side, there is always constructiveness; our positions are always absolutely clear and aimed at defending the independence of the Ukrainian people.<\/p>\n

Today there was also a lot of work regarding Kyiv. The situation here, the situation in the capital regarding preparation for winter, the protection of critical infrastructure. Every Kyiv resident sees that the city is realistically not prepared. Now, already in October, the situation is unfortunately worse than during the previous winters of this war, when electricity and water are cut off due to single Shahed strikes.<\/p>\n

There are many other issues; they exist, unfortunately. Regarding shelters, the preparation of schools, the construction of protective structures, the operation of transport, the preparation of buildings in Kyiv for winter. Kyiv is lagging behind our other regions in the implementation of resilience plans. Decisions are needed, acceleration is needed. I spoke today about this with representatives of communities that have done more. Some of them have done significantly more under conditions that are significantly more difficult.<\/p>\n

The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terkhov, was here with me. I also spoke with Ivan Fedorov, who has done a lot for Zaporizhzhia during the war. And today I spoke with Vasyl Alyuk about security challenges, with representatives of business that achieve results, with Maksym Yefimov, with Kostiantyn Yefymenko. I am grateful to everyone for the proposals, for the willingness to cooperate.<\/p>\n

There will be more important meetings.<\/p>\n

And one more thing, I want to thank every one of our rescuers. I want to thank every police officer, every man and woman who helps our people after Russian strikes. In Kharkiv, in Sumy, in Chernihiv, Dnipro, in the Donetsk region, in every one of our regions, in all cities, in all our communities, in the Odesa region, in Mykolaiv, in Rivne, absolutely everywhere.<\/p>\n

Everywhere in Ukraine after Russian strikes, there are those who save lives and those who ensure that Ukraine recovers, that Ukraine maintains its resilience. Thank you all, thank you to everyone who works for the sake of our state, who works for the sake of our people. This is the main thing.
