Hello, you are watching "Melitarny". My name is Olya Vasylets. And for the last two days, I have been working in the Czech Republic, in Prague, at the Future Versus Forum event. This is an international exhibition that takes place in Prague every two years and essentially consists of two parts. One part is an exhibition space where weapons, developments, technologies, etc., are presented. The other part consists of panel discussions, conversations, and debates dedicated to security and armament themes. We spoke with Ukrainian manufacturers and representatives of Ukrainian companies. They shared their experience and impressions of attending this exhibition, as well as their thoughts on what cooperation with Czech manufacturers and the Czech side could look like.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We have various types of EW systems, from portable to infrastructural. The detection system is the heart and soul of all our products, and without detection, we cannot carry out intelligent jamming. This system is an interface; it provides information about the threat and helps us decide on which channel to jam it. We have solutions ranging from portable systems and temporary positions to jamming systems on vehicles. Full frequency range. We are in a unique situation where, in research and development, what European partners do in six years, we can do in less than six months. This is a very unusual situation, and I believe that given the situation in the rest of the world, this should be fully utilized.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It is unique not only because of the venue of the exhibition, but it is also unique because of the people who visit the exhibition. Mainly, the main difference is the different countries that come to one exhibition or another. There are many representatives here from African countries, European countries, and so on. And this is interesting because we had no communication with them before this. Perhaps it makes sense to develop such collaborations and to look at how our weaponry, our developments, could also be useful to those,<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We have been communicating with various kinds of partners from the Czech Republic for a long time. But at this exhibition, for example, I found several interesting candidates to become partners and possibly open a joint venture in the future. For example, in technologies such as rep-systems. This is quite developed here. At<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We know that the threat of Russian air attacks is widespread. That is, it does not only concern Ukraine, but effectively already concerns European states. Accordingly, people approach us and ask about interceptor drones and EW systems that can also counteract this. And this is understandable, because we have already tested them in Ukraine, have gained battle-proven experience in all these technologies, and can provide not just a single solution, but a comprehensive solution. That is, a multi-layer system that can protect our partners from the aggressor's encroachments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This is the first event that Okam INDUSTRY attended. Therefore, this is a very important and valuable experience for us. The main goal was, of course, to meet with partners, to meet with additional military personnel from different countries, to communicate, to communicate with end-users\u2014people who use the technologies\u2014to understand what problems they are solving, and to see what feedback there is regarding our products. Also, to communicate with Ukrainian international partners with whom we already work and those with whom we want to cooperate in the future.<\/p>\n

Regarding the program, we participated in various panels, both at Future Forces and at the Engage Investment conference. We spoke about the future of European neo-primes, whether Europe can build champions in the defense industry. We discussed Counter-Layered USS at the Future Forces Forum. We also had a panel, which I moderated, about what innovations are continuing. That is, for example, we had representatives from the army, as well as investors, and we discussed which technologies the front line needs and what the operational needs are. And from the investors, we heard what they are investing in and, accordingly, how these two things\u2014investing money and what is needed\u2014actually work together or differently.<\/p>\n

The Czech Republic is a very important market for us because, in fact, one of the very first investors who invested in us was the Czech Tech Horizons. Therefore, of course, we have a certain access to Czech primes and Czech manufacturers. And that is exactly why we chose the Future Forces Forum, which takes place in Prague, as the base for our, so to speak, public appearance at this conference. We see great potential in cooperation with Czech manufacturers. We already have certain signed agreements, which we hope to announce very soon, and we view this market as indeed very important for us for potential cooperation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We are currently at the joint stand of the Iron cluster, where our companies and members are represented. What is interesting is that this is a fairly new market overall for the Ukrainian defense industry. And thanks to our partnership with Czech organizations and companies, we were able to gather a delegation and come here. In reality, there are far more companies visiting here as visitors, plus some who have their own stands. But specifically at the Iron stand, we have several Ukrainian companies. These are LRTX, DevDroid, SignEngineering. The guys from the RAID unmanned systems regiment are also represented at the stand. And the French company Alta Ares, which has invested a lot in Ukraine over the past year. And specifically their Ukrainian branch, which joined Iron a few months ago, is also represented at this stand. Overall, interest in the Czech market is now starting to grow in the context of joint ventures, in the context of joint projects, mainly in the B2B segment. Therefore, represented here are both component manufacturing companies, which are directly looking for partners for cooperation, and companies that manufacture end products to find partners for joint production. He<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Specifically in the context of unmanned systems, because overall the defense industry in the Czech Republic is very highly developed, but more in conventional weaponry, one could say. And specifically regarding unmanned systems and the tools that are currently available to us\u2014namely the Build with Ukraine Framework and other industrial partnerships\u2014there are currently regulatory difficulties in this segment regarding establishing a company in the Czech Republic in direct cooperation with the government, but this is being resolved. That is to say, even the fact that we are here now, how many Ukrainian companies are present here in the Czech Republic this week, and the desire of their government to also be accommodating, it is changing. Therefore, we see this country, with its companies and its large industrial base, as a very great prospect for our industry, as well as the Czech partners in general and their attitude toward Ukrainians, starting from the exhibition organizers to everyone else we collaborated with. It is very pleasant to cooperate, very pleasant to be here and to exhibit. Therefore, I think that good cooperation will grow from these good relations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

They find out that it is a Ukrainian company. Many ask specifically about what we think about a certain product, like our own opinion. The most frequent question is how your product differs from the one we are already using. The development of the company, specifically the development of our product, is influenced first and foremost by Ukrainian experience. Everything that was improved, is being improved, or is even being considered for improvement, is based exclusively on feedback from the front line from users as well. This is the ideal option. That is, it's not that you've imagined some virtual product for yourself somewhere in an office, somewhere in a laboratory, but rather you have feedback, you have a product, you have feedback. And then you begin to understand, "aha, this works," but there could be other, different comments, or something else.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Speaker 9<\/p>\n

Our initiative originated in the Netherlands. The guys took this from Ukraine, from the people's FPV. They assembled a drone according to the instructions. They saw that all this was possible and decided to teach other people how to assemble drones as well. We started in Munich two and a half years ago. It was simply put together by motivated people, volunteers. We began building our first drones, conducting workshops, and we saw that people were curious about this. And in this way, we are not only helping Ukraine, we are also telling people about Ukraine, engaging people, and attracting donations. In Munich, we are a fairly large initiative. We have more than 20 mentors, we have a large community of about 300 people. In Prague, everything was very active for us. A lot of people came to us to assemble drones. People are truly interested in this. They are interested in Ukraine, interested in technology, and interested in what this is all being done for. And we had such a huge turnout. Based on our drone initiatives not only in Munich, but also in Berlin and the Netherlands, guys\u2014conscious, motivated, experienced engineers\u2014developed very interesting products. In the Netherlands, the guys started drone production. In Munich, we developed a system that detects and neutralizes drones with a net. A kind of net-launcher, which we want to continue improving and thus help the military on the front line. Since about 80% of vehicles, ground drones, or cars are neutralized by FPV drones. And this is currently quite critical on the front line. Therefore, we communicate directly with the military and, based on their requests and needs, we do what they ask.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It is clear that many Czech companies are represented here in the Czech Republic. One of the largest Czech companies is Czechoslovak Group. It has a huge pavilion here, as well as an "Open Air" exhibition. And within this exhibition, presentations of new products also took place. For example, Czechoslovak Group presented a military amphibian suitable for use in Ukraine. You can read more about this machine on our website \u2013 www.military.com. In total, over 530 participants from 36 countries around the world are represented at this exhibition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
