According to the reports that have come out, two of them have been targeted. The Kuybyshevsk Refinery (initial reports indicated they would have attacked Novokuybyshevsk again, but it doesn&#8217;t seem to be the case), and the Afipsky Oil Refinery in Krasnodar. Fuel prices have already risen, and there have also been reports of shortages and queues. It is mainly in the more remote regions that they are careful to ensure Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other major cities receive their fuel. Of course, they do not want them to notice the problems and start protests, so it is mainly the poorer part of the population that is affected.<br><br>The Kuybyshevsk Refinery has an annual maximum capacity of about 7 million tons per year (at the same time, there is information that they have only processed 3.7 some years).<br>The Afipsky Oil Refinery has an annual maximum capacity of about 6.25 million tons per year (at the same time, there is information that it processed 7 million tons in 2023).<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Russian losses in Ukraine:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>880 KWIA <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 Tanks <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7 AFVs <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>40 Artillery systems <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 MLRS <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>325 UAVs <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>120 Vehicles and Fuel tanks <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 Special equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large losses\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/johanno1.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/2025-08-28-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2552\" srcset=\"https:\/\/johanno1.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/2025-08-28-819x1024.jpg 819w, https:\/\/johanno1.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/2025-08-28-240x300.jpg 240w, https:\/\/johanno1.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/2025-08-28-768x960.jpg 768w, https:\/\/johanno1.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/2025-08-28.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 819px) 100vw, 819px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SLAVA UKRAINI<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Russia&#8217;s military budget continues to increase<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For quite some time, the attitude was that Russia had no chance against Ukraine because they have such a small economy compared to Europe. Their GDP is only about the same size as the Nordic countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I wrote (on another site) that while this is true, Russia invested significantly more than the 2-3% that we spent on defense. Additionally, even though we spend more on defense overall in Europe, it also matters how much of that actually goes to Ukraine. I then calculated that perhaps around 10% reaches Ukraine and concluded that Russia has a significantly larger military budget than that. So, it doesn&#8217;t matter so much that Europe has a much larger economy; it ultimately comes down to what one can, and is willing to, provide to Ukraine. I warned then that things didn&#8217;t look so bright for Ukraine. I didn&#8217;t get much support. Russia didn&#8217;t stand a chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was early, before I found any statistics on how much support Ukraine receives each year. Now there are figures on what we actually give. <br>According to the Ukraine Support Tracker, Ukraine has received and been promised support totaling 596 billion USD so far, but looking at what has actually been delivered, they value it at 360 billion USD. This includes both military and humanitarian aid. So, it&#8217;s about 102 billion USD per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are now reports that Russia is spending around 1 trillion per year.<br>https:\/\/omni.se\/ryska-krigsbudgeten-fem-miljarder-kronor-per-dag\/a\/GykeXJ<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This should probably be taken with a grain of salt, and of course, not all of it goes directly to the war in Ukraine, but if we estimate low, 500 billion USD, that is <strong>5 times more than what we support Ukraine with despite Europe&#8217;s GDP being more than 5 times higher than Russia&#8217;s!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An argument often put forward is that the West maintains a much higher technical quality with better precision, etc. This is certainly true for traditional equipment, but today drones have become dominant, and that development has exploded during the war, where Russia (with the help of China and Iran with Shahed) has been far ahead and is now producing larger volumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The West had the chance to provide Ukraine with what was needed to win as early as the fall of 2022 but chose not to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now they have allowed Russia to develop its industry and acquire allies to help them.
