{"id":6500,"date":"2022-08-18T08:18:54","date_gmt":"2022-08-18T06:18:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/johanno1.se\/2022-08-18-3\/"},"modified":"2026-09-21T16:29:16","modified_gmt":"2026-09-21T14:29:16","slug":"2022-08-18-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/johanno1.se\/en\/2022-08-18-3\/","title":{"rendered":"2022-08-18"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"import-comment import-comment-level-0\">\n<h2>09:13<\/h2>\n<p>Saw that electricity prices were 42kr\/kwh in the Baltics according to our media (haven&#8217;t fact-checked\u2026) and just want to point out that if we had six more reactors at full capacity selling electricity to the EU at these prices, we could probably rename ourselves to the Dubai of the Nordics and get a new dress code with turbans.<br \/>\nYou don&#8217;t need oil to get filthy rich, electricity exports work just as well but now we have shut down a fairly large part of our controllable electricity production and now they are after the hydropower.<br \/>\n\u2014<br \/>\nYou can&#8217;t always do the right thing but here we have really missed an enormous export opportunity and it&#8217;s completely self-inflicted.<br \/>\nThen the enormous goodwill that our export would have created with the rest of the EU.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"import-comment import-comment-level-1\">\n<h3>09:19<\/h3>\n<p>I kind of have that view too but the point is that we can afford to pay even if we complain. Those on the margin are the ones who get hit.<br \/>\nIn the 90s there were articles about cold winters in England and thousands of pensioners freezing to death every winter at -3 degrees. Back then people thought what a developing country but today we understand it was about the cost.<br \/>\n\u2014<br \/>\nThe problem with Sweden is that we don&#8217;t have -3 degrees but it gets ten times colder so the government will probably have to think twice or thrice here before\/if there is a cold winter. Now electricity prices have gone up what, from 30 \u00f6re a few years ago to 5kr on a bad day. You can&#8217;t lock in reasonable prices either, the whole system is unstable.<br \/>\n\u2014<br \/>\nPrice is only one factor in this, consumption is the other and we are big consumers and therefore our price should be much lower than in warmer EU countries. Someone should actually develop a model for this so it becomes fair.<br \/>\n-annual cost will be the same.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>09:13 Saw that electricity
