There is not much that can be saved on electricity consumption according to previous discussion because then social services will probably come.<\/p>\n

In the longer term, I have applied for district heating and will install solar panels on the newly built house on the plot, but that is at least a year away, maybe longer.<\/p>\n

If you have a bill of this amount in September, you probably don’t even want to think about what it will be for a single month December \u2013 February. 15,000 SEK?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

If you can prove that you were against the shutdown of nuclear power, can you get a 50% discount on the electricity bill or something? And then those who wanted nuclear power shut down have to bear that cost?<\/p>\n

The world is not fair in any way, but shutting down fully functioning nuclear power for ideological reasons and then a few years later electricity bills absolutely skyrocketing is probably among the dumbest things I’ve seen here.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A question to the thread, I know nothing about this but I remember the oil prices that went up to 240 dollars a barrel after 2008 (I forgot the year) due to speculation and it was described as supply-demand.
\nThen the price went down again.<\/p>\n

Can there be speculation in electricity price futures now and that is why the price is going up?
\nNot supply-demand today then but people are bidding up prices hoping for even higher prices and profit?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Went to look at a house and the woman selling was probably 90 years or older. She solved the heating with waterborne heat where the pipe went through the stove and all burning was done with wood in a stove in the kitchen.<\/p>\n

You probably have to look hard to find a more economical solution.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Yes and no, we have just moved to a larger (q) rated house, there is geothermal heating but I can’t just put up solar panels or change windows to triple glazing or something else fun.<\/p>\n

It is possible to adjust the heating a bit, not all rooms need to be 20 degrees and stuff like that so we can probably get lower consumption than this. All radiators have a 21-degree automatic setting for example except a few, they turn off if the indoor temperature is higher.<\/p>\n

But\u2026 During the coldest months it was about 3000 kWh\/month even for the previous owners and it will cost whatever we do.<\/p>\n

What all the gloating \u2013 “then sell the house” thread posters should think about is that two years ago electricity cost 50-60 \u00f6re\/kWh and now it is 4-6 times more expensive on average. I complain on Cornucopia, spread out the text a bit, pay and can afford everything anyway but there is a large group that cannot absorb this cost. Is it reasonable from a societal perspective that a socially critical cost should increase 4-6 times in a few years?<\/p>\n

If that is the case, it opens the door for everything to skyrocket in price, why should healthcare be subsidized for example, can’t we pay cost price ourselves?<\/p>\n

Roads, shouldn’t you be able to pay for the repair of the street you live on yourself and then we can introduce toll roads everywhere?
\nNow pedestrian traffic also causes wear so if you move outside the house there will be a bill like with congestion tax, there is a lattice pole outside every house with a camera and facial recognition \u2013 bad luck if the kids run in and out of some play, then it will be expensive.<\/p>\n

And so on endlessly, I understand that it becomes silly and that I am unserious but it cannot be denied that this is becoming the most burdensome item in the household now and that it will triple in the winter months.<\/p>\n

Now everyone in the thread has low heating but there are a large number of households with direct electric heating, often those who have not been able to afford to install something more energy efficient, often single parents who absolutely cannot take the hit this winter. Sympathy for them is low in the thread and there also does not seem to be any direct grounds for accountability here.<\/p>\n

At the risk of getting a lesson in democracy but the purpose of democracy is not really that something like this should be feasible. Absolutely no one has voted for skyrocketing electricity bills.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

J\u00e4rven, yes it was newly renovated when we moved in but there are still some small moldings left that may need an extra strip. Thinking about changing to thicker window glass throughout the house, understand that it doesn’t make as much noise as triple glazing but better than nothing.
\nThe geothermal heat pump probably needs to be replaced maybe with the latest model as well.<\/p>\n

We have Bixia, they have variable pricing but take half the pot for variable and have a “trading desk” and buy everything they can when the price is low and try to press the monthly average price as much as possible. If the electricity price is high every day all month it will of course be the same as variable but now that it has been windy half the month it can probably ease the anxiety somewhat.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
