Households, especially in southern Sweden, have reduced electricity consumption by almost 20%. More than Ben Dover and Johan No.1 who keep it at 18 degrees indoors, one would guess?
\nThere isn\u2019t much else to save on without social services knocking on the door and having children\u2019s rights read to you.<\/p>\n

I still believe that speculation in futures\/forwards might be driving the electricity price, but the electricity pricing on Nord Pool is described somewhat vaguely.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Only day two, you\u2019re probably going to run out of invectives if you come out this strong \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

Before this, groups will either be wiped out or freeze to death. It\u2019s kind of in the nature of things that if you had expensive heating before the price increase because you couldn\u2019t afford improvements, you don\u2019t have more money a couple of years later with soaring electricity prices. Surely a few have already ended up with the bailiff.<\/p>\n

This is starting to come up as a topic at work now, interest rates and electricity prices, and then most people have pretty good salaries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For my part, I had an electricity company with a winter lock-in that worked excellently for four years but whose business model worked poorly when prices skyrocketed, resulting in too high a locked winter price and then it was variable in the summer which was almost even more expensive the last year.
\nThe peaks used to come only in winter and then there was a lock-in at a reasonable price and during the super cheap summer season it was variable \u2013 beer and chips on Fridays.<\/p>\n

Then everyone said the price is lowest in summer so I waited until this summer to find a longer contract but then prices went up when the nuclear power shut down for maintenance. Locked contracts were then around 3.5 SEK\/kWh or something and that\u2019s too much.<\/p>\n

Found an electricity company that has variable pricing but has a \u201ctrading desk\u201d that tries to buy everything they can on cheap days to push down the monthly average, it\u2019s been okay because they reduce the cost somewhat with this method.<\/p>\n

Then fixed contracts have started to be terminated citing force majeure so even those aren\u2019t really safe anymore?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
