\nThose are Russian soft vehicles with artillery passing by a Russian tank, artillery is usually 20km behind and that is a Ukrainian tank, not some reconnaissance platoon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

There are some rumors that the area east of Inhulets is being abandoned at this moment and it is really enough to look at what the Ukrainian staff said yesterday which LW posted, IF the right location has been found, because then the Russians have retreated just north of Khakovka.<\/p>\n

It should not be confused with the earlier reports of Russians saying evacuation of civilians etc. this is some type of either consolidation down towards the last defensive line at Khakovka or abandonment of the entire area east of Inhulets, and it is ongoing?
\nI have not understood if it was preceded by an advance southwards from Davyidiv Brid or if they again abandoned the defense on their own accord?<\/p>\n

What we all press F5 a couple of times a day on the Old Swedish Village website for is the post when Ukrainian reconnaissance has reached the village, preceded by the post that the Russians have left the village.<\/p>\n

It could happen that the Russians at the same time also abandon the city of Kherson, it will be looted and they move all washing machines across the Dnieper. But it could also mean that they consolidate the Kherson front and abandon east of Inhulets first to defend the city of Kherson.
\n-there would be some logic in that if you map it out.<\/p>\n

Theoretically, one could have a comfortable winter in the city of Kherson with all civilians as human shields?
\nThere is probably no shortage of supplies I think since Ukraine probably does not want to level the city to the ground.<\/p>\n

It would be good if Ukraine can keep up the pressure so the retreat becomes Russian \u2013 unorganized and chaotic.<\/p>\n

Then it is also significant that the US has both flown in the 101st and also has many exercises up towards Belarus to persuade them not to start offensive operations into Ukraine. If it were a guaranteed maskirovka, the marking would not be needed?

I agree with Henrik, Ukraine can handle this brilliantly as long as they get equipment.
\nIt is not a lack of soldiers or competent personnel.<\/p>\n

Those who now in the thread want some type of escalation with Western units in Ukraine may not be fishing in troubled waters but should probably think a bit about what it is they wish for, anything can happen after that?<\/p>\n

It is probably the same as said that just tanks would be an escalation but that it would be great if the same tanks came to Ukraine with American crews. I have a hard time seeing the logic here?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Quite a boring discussion yesterday and today about those who want to send CV90 and Archer to Ukraine are if not small small children who understand nothing then at least id1ots.<\/p>\n

It always helps to put things in perspective, not so long ago we had large unit losses and it went perfectly fine with a stronger Russia than today (when they ran an Afghan which we now know…).<\/p>\n

We have hundreds of vehicles of various types stored today that no one drives in a mobilization (today). Some are older models and there is probably still some need for renewal? We have gone through this many times.<\/p>\n

Now it is of course so that by inflicting damage on Russia in Ukraine we make Sweden safer and if we could have gotten Russia to turn inward now before winter we would have avoided attacks on our energy supply, so far everyone agrees?<\/p>\n

It has been quite consistent here, first we should feel that Ukraine would lose and if you thought otherwise you were an id1ot, then Ukraine had no offensive capability at all and you were an id1ot if you thought they would manage to go on the offensive, better to give up land, and now you are an id1ot for wanting Ukraine to get offensive weapons so they can reclaim their land.

Ukraine themselves have tanks highest on their wish list.<\/p>\n

That has been discussed a few times and I think it was as simple as \u2013 Ukraine began to become a free and democratic country and that threatened the oppressive regime in Moscow more than anything else. Then there was probably also a portion of punishment to be handed out for the audacity that they chose democracy and freedom.<\/p>\n

NATO is zero threat to Russia, they have already admitted that by pulling back their entire border defense.
\nHowever, Russia sees NATO as a problem.<\/p>\n

Someone wrote something like this in a forum \u2013 it is a bit like building a police station in a crime-ridden suburb, the residents welcome the police station and the criminals hate it, exactly that is the relationship between NATO and Russia. NATO prevents the Russians from desecrating and ravaging their neighbors and therefore they don’t like NATO, but NATO is not a threat to them.<\/p>\n

Crimea is of course important but there are other ports in the Black Sea AND they already had Crimea through an agreement AND they had since 2014 occupied Crimea AND there was some kind of ceasefire so a war of aggression could not be justified with that either.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I now think there is political consideration not to send offensive weapons. For me it is completely unrealistic to in one breath say that MBTs would escalate the war and in the next say that US intervention is preferable. That escalates even more. <\/p>\n

That said, Sweden should of course send down everything we can spare to the US-led effort, preferably Gripen, Archer and a mechanic battalion \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Yes, the seagull question is always a bit tricky and I have probably stopped in time late 90s sometime.<\/p>\n

We have put the number at 200 just because we don’t know better but if you try to look completely objectively at sending CV90 to Ukraine. A company would tip the free West, that would be big.<\/p>\n

Pretty sure we can spare 9-10 tanks, I don’t think anyone believes it would reduce our ability to defend ourselves against Russian desecration.<\/p>\n

It would make others send from the top shelf.<\/p>\n

The reason they don’t send these 10 is because they are worried about escalation\/consequences but I am of the opinion that Putin has already escalated to the max and if Finland, Poland, the Baltics and Slovakia are prepared to take the consequences, why should we be worse?<\/p>\n

Late humanitarian intervention \u2013 we are a humanitarian superpower with the goal of contributing to peace and a better world. I can\u2019t think of a better humanitarian intervention than giving Ukraine a big enough hammer to kill all the Russians in Ukraine so they can no longer continue to desecrate five-year-old children and torture-murder them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For the most part, I think it\u2019s good manners, but some days it gets aggressive and a bit inquisitorial, and yesterday and today it seems all restraints have been lifted.<\/p>\n

This thing about helping Ukraine with offensive weapons is sensitive, probably political, because quite a lot of effort is put into making that proposal appear bad, ill-considered, irresponsible, and downright stupid when it\u2019s so incredibly obvious that it\u2019s exactly the opposite \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

If we can drain the Russian army of offensive capability without sacrificing Swedish lives, it\u2019s an opportunity that will never come back. Next time it will be our soldiers dying in the trenches.<\/p>\n

Then all these offensive weapons are manufactured and purchased with a ton of tax money to kill Russian soldiers (I know, it\u2019s wrong but you understand\u2026) and if you can use them for what they were made for before they become obsolete, isn\u2019t that pretty much what you should do?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
