You do what you can, right?
\nIn 2012, we moved back to Sweden for the first time and by then people had started subletting, so we thought it would work like it does in the rest of the world \u2013 well.
\nIt was absolutely terrible, short contracts and where they were longer, the owners wanted to visit all the time and demanded coffee and buns. I’ve never seen anything like it in my entire life; usually when you rent, it’s the owners who offer buns, but here they totally power-tripped and felt like some kind of upper class compared to the crofters who had to rent.<\/p>\n

For my part, it’s like night and day between a highly mortgaged villa and a house without a mortgage, but even I understand that without the highly mortgaged villa, there wouldn’t be a house without a mortgage.<\/p>\n

Something that has actively been held back is the sale of plots at reasonable prices \u2013 the hectare price divided + connection for water, sewage, and drainage + reasonable profit and the ability to build a house. In the 1930s, we had own homes, but today not many plots are sold to private individuals and it’s mainly the municipalities that are holding back.<\/p>\n
