It must be incomprehensibly difficult to be in this war for 2.5 years, many units have been pushed very hard and have been at active fronts almost continuously even though battalions rotate in and out of the contact lines.
\nThese are not six-month tours to Iraq where you have all the extras at the bases between patrols.
\nThe average age is supposed to be 43 years, a very humane decision to mobilize those who have already started families (had their children) in order not to crash the demographics, but that means many family fathers have been away from their families for several years.
\nThe stress on the partners at home is enormous and probably many families have had to flee, had their homes destroyed, and have little money \u2013 all things that break a Swedish family and then a constant stress of dying or having your partner die, for 2.5 years.
\nThen when you get that long-awaited leave, the soldiers are mentally worn out and have been away from their partner and children for a year, and the leave is too short for them to find balance again.
\nOr you get the letter that your partner has fallen, or they come home as war invalids.
\nNow, admittedly, the average Ukrainian seems to be quite resilient but it is no small external pressure put on the families which breaks the children down.
\nIt is easy to forget this and there are very good reasons to be resigned about the West\u2019s actions here but it is starting to brighten up little by little.<\/p>\n

Apparently, the USA has cut off USD to Russia and all IT, which is very good, should be able to cause serious chaos. That it took 2.5 years is probably the worst part but good that it came. Then the exchange rate went down again so so far it hasn\u2019t exploded at all which is unfortunate.

China has sold much of its currency reserves\/paper in USD and it is portrayed as if they want to bring down the West but it is more likely that they have economic problems and are burning through their currency reserves.
\nBut\u2026
\nSaudi Arabia has not renewed the agreement that they would only sell their oil in USD but now accept other currencies. I don\u2019t know if this is a dud because they will renew the agreement soon again or if it is a serious situation.
\nThe USA is not the same, say probably Gaddafi\u2019s relatives who are still alive.<\/p>\n

Maybe standing a bit on the fence here, I think it could be important how India chooses to act going forward \u2013 so far skipping the dollar has only led to Russia sitting on a huge pile of rupees that they can\u2019t buy anything with except Tata mopeds.<\/p>\n

But if China accepts other currencies and oil and other producers do too, it could get lively, or if they manage to agree on their own BRIICS currency.<\/p>\n

Much of what we buy is produced in China, right, and much of the raw materials in the other countries that will be part of the currency cooperation.<\/p>\n

India will attend the peace conference, so far it looks good.
\nAnd BRIICS has to date clearly shown that they have zero loyalty to each other.
\nBut.. if they are forced into a currency cooperation that works, the West will have a new playing field to relate to.<\/p>\n

I am now sitting and wondering if October 7 and the EU election are connected, we know today that the terror attack had Russia\u2019s fingerprints on it and in the EU election right-wing parties have made strong gains in the aftermath of antisemitic demonstrations (I don\u2019t write lynch mobs) sweeping through every country and parts of the MENA diaspora have declared war on J.ar \u2013 a much-needed boost simply for citizens to seek parties that want to solve migration problems.<\/p>\n

Somewhat the same as the refugee crisis in 2015 came very timely for BREXIT where the biggest reason for it all was dissatisfaction with migration (probably Russia hoped for more exits).<\/p>\n

I often meet Belgians, Dutch, French, British, Portuguese and some other nationalities at work. Well-traveled and not infrequently they have met someone during their travels whom they married.
\nAt dinners, exactly everyone loudly complains about gang crime, criminal clans, a justice system that has been subjected to activism and an intolerant religion. The Netherlands seems to have it really tough as they are also the center of the drug trade which turns over so much that they can bribe their way into civil society and the justice system.<\/p>\n

It was a bit like when I got most upset about the closed nuclear power plants when my electricity bill skyrocketed and I started to take an interest in the subject and realized that they have managed to do exactly the same throughout the EU, shutting down paid-off electricity production in the name of the environment without reasonable alternatives.<\/p>\n

This kind of thing is interesting, a criminal gang storms a student party.

Or the prosecutor who leaked information to gang criminals, is unpunished but has ties to a criminal clan.<\/p>\n

There was a very tough restructuring of the police in Sweden where old hands simply gave up and they wanted to bring in some new thinking which gave the criminal clans and gangs the chance to get their unpunished candidates into the police\u2019s inner circle. What a jackpot, one must conclude in hindsight.<\/p>\n

And this is how it looks all over Europe if you believe those I meet at work \u2013 exactly the same!<\/p>\n

Much criticism of the search zones and that it would become a police state. That can of course be healthy opposition but what are the alternatives I wonder seriously, that the majority society has criminal clans and gangs to relate to and that the monopoly on violence no longer protects everyone?<\/p>\n

This was actually a clever rhetorical question because the monopoly on violence has already surrendered in some suburbs and the majority society in those areas has criminal clans and gangs to relate to but I am lucky enough not to live there.
\nCan they deduct the protection money to the criminal clan on their taxes?<\/p>\n

That no one dares to testify against criminal clans or gang criminals anymore we already know but the prosecutors and courts \u2013 are they really completely immune to influence, what we might perceive as activism can also be threats and bribes, right, where ridiculously low sentences are handed out?
\nIt came to a head when a couple in Hallonbergen was going to testify and then the gang got access to the preliminary investigation and they went directly and almost ritual murdered them \u2013 that probably discourages future witnesses.<\/p>\n

Who lives in the apartment buildings where all the bombs exploded in the entrance?<\/p>\n

And Theutenberg on how Sweden was infiltrated during the Cold War, where did all these people who were never identified go, what are they doing today?

We will see if the US strategy of not escalating will work, we in the West have a democratic framework to relate to but Russia uses the whole palette and so does China. IF (if\u2026) they manage to get a common currency working, that would be quite significant. That China and Russia are taking over Africa is quite clear, which should worry the West enormously but it doesn\u2019t after every politician understands that this is a no-go zone if you want to survive politically.<\/p>\n

Right now I see a fairly coordinated attack on France coinciding with Macron taking a strong position against Russia.<\/p>\n

My point with all this, and the detour into Swedish criminal clans, is that the longer this war goes on the worse it will get. Russia_is_at_war_with_the_West and they are currently conducting full asymmetric warfare against us on all levels.<\/p>\n

Swedish gangs and criminal clans that have infiltrated the police, judiciary, and municipalities are an excellent infrastructure for foreign powers and now that witnesses have gone completely silent in criminal cases \u2013 do you think our politicians are never subjected to influence at all, either advanced bribery schemes or traps, or threats from the gangs?<\/p>\n

Everything has to be voted through and if the margin is small one vote can defeat the proposals.<\/p>\n

\nI have also felt a shift in how the West treats him, in 2023 it was \u201cungrateful damn Ukrainians\u201d and now on June 6 he was almost the guest of honor and then he got to speak in the German parliament.

\nEverything came to a head when our head of state was murdered. It was during a turbulent period when it was almost war in our archipelago with Russian submarine intrusions in the autumns. I am beginning to feel that we are taking steps in that direction again, actions that reasonably cannot be explained except by not having the West\u2019s best interests in mind in all sorts of matters over the last 10-15 years and that coincides with Russia deciding to restore its reputation.<\/p>\n

For me, these things are connected, now the US has tried \u201cdefund the police\u201d and it became almost a parody of the whole thing when Chicago\u2019s mayor finally had to hire a private security company to protect himself when the police no longer had resources but it resulted in sharply increased crime throughout the West \u2013 when everything was supposed to get better by making the police less tough.<\/p>\n

Then everyone stands helpless and wonders why citizens vote for parties that promise to crack down hard on crime.
\nAnd those are parties where Russia has bought influence.
\nThey have sat as a puppet master and steered development where they want.<\/p>\n

Russia is incredibly good at this, it is a state-prioritized function and apparently 85% of the KGB\u2019s budget went to destabilizing the West precisely because it was so easy.
\nThe world\u2019s largest criminal clan cooperating with criminal clans and organized crime in the West to actively destabilize the West.
\nDuring Soviet times the state cooperated with organized crime in the country to keep the majority society in check.
\nToday the war in Ukraine is really going badly for Putin so it is not unreasonable to assume that Russia has ramped up destabilizing activities throughout the West as compensation.<\/p>\n

Yes, you have some first-hand information about the Palme murder that you will go public with \u201cwhen the time is right\u201d I got a barely audible message on WhatsApp from you a few weeks ago so I guessed you would share my conclusions.<\/p>\n

On topic \u2013 it is easy to recoil and say that one \u201cis doing the right\u2019s bidding\u201d but if my children\u2019s graduation party had been stormed by a criminal gang my sense of security and trust would have gone to zero. If me, my wife, and my child had been shot by a criminal gang I would never set foot in Sweden again. And if I had to pay protection money to the local gang I would question the tax liability. It is easy to have opinions when you yourself have not been exposed and it just seems to be getting worse so the likelihood that one will be exposed oneself increases.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I don\u2019t believe we have been boiled like a frog as DENGAMLE writes, on the contrary. It has gone fast in recent years and that probably makes it feel extra unsafe, we are not used to it.<\/p>\n

If someone says they are going to move to the USA, it’s not like everyone will discourage the person from going because they are afraid they will be shot on day one. We are not quite at the USA’s level yet in terms of all crime. Also, so far, significantly more people die in traffic accidents than from violence.<\/p>\n
