  1. Now the number of KIA is approaching normal high levels. Artillery is still lower than normal by 3500 shells. Drones, on the other hand, are really high.

AFU “In total, 155 combat clashes were recorded for yesterday.

The enemy launched 65 aviation strikes at the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, dropping 125 controlled bombs. In addition, he carried out about 3,500 shells, 114 of them were from jet fire systems, and deployed 3443 kamikaze drones.”
  2. Special ammunition with four bullets for combating drones.

“1. There are constantly new tactics and equipment to more effectively protect and combat FPV drones. Several front sections now have protective nets around positions and also set up over the main roads. I also see many different “Mad Max” variants of vehicle protection every time I’m down there.

    2. Various variants of anti-drone ammunition in 5.56 (NATO)/5.45 (AK74)/7.62 (AK47)mm cartridges have also started to appear. I have been skeptical of the ones I have seen in RY posts but now had the opportunity to test a variant in 5.56 mm myself. I received these from a special forces unit that uses them in real operations.

    3. They are produced on a private initiative by volunteers in Ukraine, and each cartridge contains 4 bullets and is supposed to have an effective range of about 100 m. Last Saturday, I was at a shooting range in eastern Ukraine and tested the ammunition to see what spread it had. It worked well, even in automatic fire.

    4. The idea is that each soldier in the group should have a magazine with this ammunition, so they don’t have to carry an extra shotgun. All soldiers can combat drones, and the chance of hitting the target significantly increases compared to if one person has the task with an extra weapon. Feel free to share this to spread the information.”

      Interesting!
If the balls are full diameter, the rifling may risk compressing the thin shells so that they do not separate, they should be slightly undersized.
Now maybe shot direction and precision are not crucial but more to avoid carrying an additional rifle.

    1. Exactly. And Zelensky countered by announcing that he will come himself. We’ll see if it works, the kakistocrats make the world unnecessarily exciting.

    1. …when he takes care of the plane for his own use, of course. It wouldn’t surprise me if he plans to use it when he becomes the new and rightful pope (he could simply set up his conclave at Mar-a-Lago and take it from there).

The old Air Force One is from 1990 and needs to be replaced. I think there is an order for something new but it seems to take time.
No personal gift to Trump so misleading article.

Over the past day, the aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces hit 20 areas of concentration of personnel and equipment, five artillery pieces, a military stockpile and a UAV control center of the Russian invaders.

  4. 15 is on Thursday – what is the probability of Putin going to Turkey?

Erdogan did not come on May 9th so Putin could also be arrested and sent to The Hague as far as he is concerned.

Will Macron and Trump keep their promises?

Trump has actually stuck to the ceasefire order since negotiations.

  5. Also starting to spread a rumor that UA cannot do better in the war just like they could not/dared to drone the parade.

    Far from the truth

    1. Westley Richard

Putin has been restrained in bombing Kiev when the Western world has been visiting. It would have been tempting fate if Xi had been running around in panic on a bombed Red Square.

    1. “The German government is issuing new threats of sanctions against Russia if Putin does not agree to a 30-day ceasefire.

      – The clock is ticking, says government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius according to Reuters.

The statement has not been well received by the Kremlin, which calls European ultimatums “unacceptable.”

      – You cannot talk to Russia in that tone, says Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov according to AFP.”

The Kremlin rejects ultimatums — “this language is unacceptable to Moscow,” Peskov said in response to sanctions threats. According to him, Putin is ready to resume talks with Ukraine — but with no preconditions.

    2. Good that they are starting to set boundaries and deadlines, they should have done that back in 2014. It’s important to speak a language they understand. Hopefully, they can back up their words with actions once the deadline has passed.

When Saturday came, the little man went to the tailor again.

    – Good day, good day, master tailor, are my mittens ready?

    – Oh no.

    – Are they not ready? Why not?

    – Oh yes, there were no mittens made.

    – No mittens made? What was made then?

    – Nothing was made.

    – Oh, nothing was made? That’s good, master tailor. Thank you very much, master tailor. Goodbye, goodbye, master tailor.

And so the little man left and never came back.

Right now, Trump has sewn a pair of mittens.

Nowadays, a majority of those surveyed have a negative view of the USA, and particularly bleak is the perception of the USA in Europe. At the same time, China is experiencing the opposite trend. More people now say they have a positive rather than negative view of China, and for the first time, the country is more popular worldwide than the USA. The personal popularity ratings of US President Donald Trump are lower than both Russia’s Vladimir Putin and China’s Xi Jinping.

People apparently have difficulty distinguishing between two murderers and a bungler.

    1. Maybe it’s because one expects more from an American president than from Putin and Xi, but I agree that it’s damn strange if you prefer the two over Trump.

The Security Service has, in the case of suspected espionage, raided an apartment in central Stockholm where a top diplomat lives, according to information from SR. The diplomat has held top positions at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, but it is not clear from the information whether the person is suspected of a crime. The Security Service does not want to say whether the case, which has led to a person being detained, is linked to the diplomat. The government does not want to comment on SR’s information.

My guess may not have been so far off.

  8. Then with this one (had a lot today). Now many are probably breathing a sigh of relief even though 30% is actually also very high.

“The USA will reduce its tariffs on imports of Chinese goods from 145 to 30 percent over 90 days. China will simultaneously reduce its tariffs on imports of American goods from 125 to 10 percent over 90 days, the countries write in a joint statement.”
    https://omni.se/usa-och-kina-sanker-tullar-pa-vissa-varor-i-90-dagar/a/xmk2WV

    1. Kommerskollegium conducted a simulation last autumn that showed how much trouble the USA would be in if they were to introduce 60 percent tariffs against China and 20 percent against the rest of the world.

“The analysis clearly shows the problems with using tariffs to protect domestic industries. The country that would suffer the most is the United States, where imports and exports would be expected to drop by 10 and 14 per cent, respectively.

A striking result is that the tariffs would particularly hurt the industries they are intended to protect, largely because these sectors are deeply integrated into global value chains”.

  9. Donald Trump is considering traveling to Turkey in connection with the meeting between Russia and Ukraine, he announces at a press conference.

    – There is a possibility if I believe that good things can happen, he says.

The American president says that “good things can come out of the meeting” and when asked if he believes that Russia will agree to a ceasefire, he is clear.

    – I have a feeling that they will agree to it, he says.

  10. “On russian Telegram: German secret talks with Putin

German SPD / CSU / CSU politicians have begun secret talks with Gazprom, Reuters reports.

Lawmakers are demanding an explanation from SPD member Ralf Stegner about a meeting he did not report to authorities with people close to the Kremlin.”

  11. “En flygattack riktades mot en rysk bro i Kursk-regionen under evakueringen av en logistiklastbil som hade fastnat på konstruktionen. Filmmaterialet återfanns på telefonen hos en av de ryska personalen.”

  12. The person who has been detained in Stockholm suspected of espionage is a Swedish diplomat, according to information from SVT. The diplomat has been stationed at several embassies around the world. The diplomat was detained after an operation that was carried out “the other day” and is reasonably suspected, which is the lower degree of suspicion.
