Det som hรคnde under de senaste dagarna var fรถr alla att se, men upptrappningen till det รคr lite av en gรฅta –

Trump har tidigare skrytit om att det skulle finnas en fredsรถverenskommelse pรฅ plats “innan pรฅsk” och det har ryktats om att Ryssland skulle fรถrklara kriget vunnet under denna parad.

Den lille Putin har i รฅr byggt en replika av det tyska “Reichstag” och avsรฅg att รฅterskapa den episka segern i andra vรคrldskriget framfรถr sina diktatรถrkompisar.

Han har byggt upp en strategisk reserv med sรฅ pass mรฅnga trupper att dra frรฅn, tillsammans med nordkoreanska och kinesiska enheter som skulle sjunga och marschera.

Vi har sett det senaste utrustningen i (stora) mรคngder sรฅsom Armata och BT-90 tillsammans med nรฅgra nya drรถnarplattformar.

Vรคrldsledare var inbjudna och Xi Jinping hade accepterat fรถr fรถrsta gรฅngen sedan 2015.

Putin sjรคlv verkade ha lekt och fรถrlorat med den รถvergripande vapenvilan genom att begรคra fรถr mycket โ€“ sรฅg det ut som, tyckte jag?

Sedan fรถrsรถkte Putin fรฅ Zelensky att gรฅ med pรฅ en kort vapenvila 8-10 maj (fรถr att skydda sin vรคrdefulla parad), och sedan bad รคven Kina formellt Zelensky att inte drรถnare parad dรฅ de ville fira folkmordet i Ukraina i fred och inte riskera nรฅgot.

Sedan รคndrades allt โ€“ Ukraina skrev pรฅ en mineralaffรคr med Trump som i slutรคndan var ingenting och sedan motsatte sig USA den kortare eldupphรถret, och det gjorde รคven Zelensky.

Och Trump lรคmnade fรถrhandlingarna – inte lรคngre intresserad.

Krim var helt tรคckt av drรถnare och det avgรถrande โ€“ Kerch-bron var mรฅlet.

Det ryktas att Putin har tagit in hela 260 luftvรคrnssystem fรถr att skydda paraden sรฅ kanske har Krim blivit av med nรฅgra ๐Ÿ˜ถ

Kerch-bron har varit en absolut no-go frรฅn vรคst, och USA i synnerhet โ€“ Ukraina fรฅr inte sikta pรฅ den strukturen pรฅ nรฅgot sรคtt efter deras framgรฅngsrika attack dรคr de skickade ett paket pรฅ en rysk DHL-lastbil รถver bron och nรคstan tog ut den. Det har bekrรคftats av Ukraina och det har ocksรฅ framkommit genom “anonyma kรคllor”.

Sedan rekommenderade Budanov alla att ta med รถronproppar till paraden den 9e maj fรถljt av hans varumรคrkesleende, och Zelensky bekrรคftade ocksรฅ att Ukraina inte kunde garantera sรคkerheten fรถr nรฅgon som deltar i paraden – “deltag pรฅ egen risk”.

Och sedan bรถrjade pinsamheten fรถr Putin – ledarna fรถr Slovakien och Serbien sa sig vara sjuka, Modi blev upptagen med annat och kommer att skicka sin bitrรคdande utrikesminister och Lukashenko i Belarus varnade att han kanske kommer lite sent dรฅ det kommer att bli en hektisk dag fรถr honom.

      We’ll see if it will be like 2024. Then, the Russian average per day per month for (KWIA) in May increased to 1262, from having been between 709-983 since they started the offensive in October 2023.  

      In 2023, on the other hand, the intensity decreased in May after the Russians gained control over Bakhmut and possibly also due to waiting for the Ukrainian offensive, which didn’t happen until the summer.

      The mists thicken around the parade on the 9th. Will it be a real parade or just a digital one? Now it is said that RU has reinforced the air defense in Moscow. That would suggest that there will be a parade. But without foreign dignitaries? However, Xi is claimed to be coming to Moscow in person on the 9th to sign some cooperation agreement.

      Opec with Saudi at the forefront will significantly increase oil extraction in the near future. It is obvious that Trump has a hand in the game as he, unlike Biden, has a good relationship with Saudi. MSB got upset when Biden criticized him for having shredded a journalist at the embassy in Ankara.
      A low oil price puts economic pressure on Russia and Iran, fills the reserves ahead of a possible attack on Iran, and lubricates the world economy, which is needed in Trump’s tariff chaos.

    I have also wondered……
    Why is it OK to send Patriot to UA now? What has changed so that Trump is changing his mind?
    Could it be as simple as thinking that if you stroke Putin under the chin, he will start to spin and move closer, closer to the USA and further away from China?
    It was believed that one could sacrifice the trust in the Western world just to put China in the freezer.
    Now that it is realized that Putin both talks shit, never keeps anything, and that China has its claws deeply embedded in Putin’s back, one turns around and starts somewhat timidly to supply UA with firecrackers.
    Don’t forget BRICS! RU believes that they will gain power if they get to play while China is the one holding the real power!

    Z must have come up with something very concrete there in the hall in the Vatican, something that made them realize that they have been deceived or will be deceived. Trump hates to appear as a fool who has been deceived.

      Yes, it really feels like it turned after the meeting in Rome.

      At the same time, what on earth could Zelenskyy have said that made him change track?

      Could it be that Trump finally realized how much support Zelenskyy actually has? He received applause, he sat on the same row as Trump and the European leaders competed to greet Zelenskyy, etc?

      Maybe a light bulb went off for him then and there that Europe actually won’t back down when it comes to supporting Ukraine regardless of what the USA does?

      Europe has also not rolled over when it comes to tariffs, maybe Trump also thought that the USA would be so important to export to that he would get his way without any problems.

      He might realize that he actually “doesn’t hold the cards” and that he risks the USA being frozen out by Europe if he continues on the same line.

        Yes, something like that, definitely a combination of external pressure and internal, from Wall Street and from Republicans who are not among the lunatics. The USA cannot have an antagonistic policy towards friendly-minded states, as we are the ones lending them money at (for now) modest interest rates. It should also be clear to Trump that China and Moscow are playing on the same team.

        And what is more antagonistic right now than support for Moscow at a time when Europe’s security is being concretely threatened.

    Trump got his deal and has realized that Putin was not the close friend he thought.

    I wonder what Zelenskyy said there in Rome?

    Maybe we can go back to “business as usual” but with the difference that Ukraine unfortunately now has to pay to get weapons and ammunition from the USA (something they never had to do under Biden regarding your claim that it would have been blocked.. ๐Ÿ˜‰).

    Certainly much better than him stopping all deliveries as the survey shows many have been worried about.

    So, it finally seems like he realized he was on completely the wrong track.
    I also guess that the arms industry has been pushing even though they don’t have the same economic weight in the USA as before.

    He has also changed his mind about the tariffs when he realized that maybe it wasn’t so smart.

    Of course, I would wish that he started by doing the smart thing, but it’s very good that he actually chooses to change course and realizes he is wrong. That must be acknowledged!
    Even though, of course, he doesn’t admit it outwardly. ๐Ÿ˜€

    Maybe his declining approval ratings will level off now?

    He suddenly backed off from running in the 2028 election. Maybe he himself is starting to feel that he doesn’t quite have what it takes anymore. I think he sounds more and more confused.

    Anyway, positive for Ukraine that it finally worked out and that they refused to give in but made sure to get the best possible deal. Of course, security guarantees are missing, but they don’t have to pay for what has already been delivered (and was claimed to be worth between 250 to 350 billion USD).

    Now it’s just a matter of them being able to resist and mobilize forces to start pushing Russia back, or hold out until Russia collapses!

      Thank you Matsextrude, well written. I agree, he seems to back off when facing too compact resistance.

      I missed that he backed off from the presidential question, but maybe that explains his newfound interest in becoming pope (if not the next pope, maybe the one after that, but then he probably has to ensure this by first maneuvering Musk or Vance as a cardinal).

      Biden activated the lend-lease law but never used it. I had a conspiratorial hypothesis that the Biden administration wanted to donate the systems to Ukraine in order to condition their use.

      Legally, it would be much more difficult if Ukraine bought the equipment (regardless of whether it is done on credit or cash), so possibly the arrangement in this respect could be a step forward. And I guess Europe will continue to donate without conditions.

        Yes, and it’s fortunate that he does. Throws in that about him backing off like an own longer down.

        The fact that lend-lease was never used is probably what I hold most against Biden. It could have provided twice as much if activated as well. 

        There may well be some truth in wanting to condition the use. There I hope that Trump chooses a different path, haven’t seen any signs of that yet, even though Johan gladly tries to make it sound like it๐Ÿ˜€.

        Europe seems to be running as usual, luckily!
        Now if they’re thinking of buying weapons from Ukraine to give to Ukraine, they won’t have much say in the use either! ๐Ÿ˜€

      It doesn’t really matter if UA has to pay for weapons initially, as they will be sponsored by Europe and others anyway. When a new admin. enters the “mess,” it will be forgiven or resolved in a more democratic and decent way.

      I agree. Last time there was a lot of talk, but he actually kept the line longer than he does now. Now he changes his mind faster than the price increases of eggs!

        Yes, he seems to give up more easily this time. Maybe starting to feel that it might not be so much fun to be president after all. 

        If you’ve listened to his speeches, you know that he can really get tangled up without getting to any specific point, but I’ve seen some episodes now where it felt worse than ever.

    A thought that struck me when I saw in some feed that a whole horde of Putin huggers have written some nonsense in Aftonbladet and that many from V and MP are signing it.

    I’ve read elsewhere that SD are Putinists, why aren’t they included here? Why aren’t they writing such disgusting posts? Are the SD-Putinists smarter than the waste left and the Eco-muppets?
    Is it that SD has cleared out the Putinists but people from MP and V persist in pointing it out to shift focus (projection). Exactly the same way they do with anti-Semitism, they point at SD but have big problems with it within the parties.

      SD is very Swedish and Swedes are not friends of Russia. But friends of Russia can of course be found in all parties. I followed Flashback a lot in the beginning of the Ukraine war and could see that the friends of Russia were mainly Swedes living in Sweden or married to Russians or Serbs or other Russian Orthodox. But also Swedish Nazis. Sometimes also people from the anti-colonial left.

      Difficult to answer of course. When it comes to being against war, V and MP have always been on the peaceful side, but many seem not to understand that it also means serving Putin’s interests. Those on the list are probably a combination of peace-damaged individuals, infiltrated true Russian friends, old communists who still long for the Soviet Union, and of course, the old anti-USA sentiment. Hopefully, the majority within V and MP do not share a similar attitude.

      I absolutely believe that SD is much smarter when it comes to their communication, as they have been constantly questioned. Now they seem to have improved, with fewer scandals.

      However, I do not think that SD has directly removed any Putin supporters. They know that the support for Ukraine is strong and realize that it would harm them immensely if they took Russia’s side right now. In Europe, it is mainly the far-right who admire Putin, but the support for Ukraine is not as strong there either. SD has previously praised Hungary as a role model, just like MAGA in the USA.

      Of course, there is a difference between the voters and the politicians in all parties.

      On social media, it feels rather the opposite when it comes to Ukraine. The accounts that want to stop providing weapons to Ukraine and argue that they can never defeat Russia, or that we need the money ourselves, etc., are predominantly from the right side (some of them are even further to the right than SD).

      The left and MP seem to not have much time to focus on Ukraine but rather concentrate mostly on Palestine/Israel.

        SD seems to have gotten rid of the Putinists, it was probably they who broke away and formed AFS. It feels like SD is closer to Meloni than Orban. On the other hand, the Left Party has not managed to rid itself of its anti-Semites, yesterday in the news someone tried to talk away the anti-Semitism by claiming it was actually hatred towards the USA that was being misinterpreted.

    Sat and pondered a bit about Trump’s almost 180-degree turn regarding Ukraine…. It’s (quite) certain that Russia has some kind of compromising material or similar on Trump (this is ONE theory…)… and then there was that 1 on 1 meeting in the Vatican…. What could Zelensky have said that made Trump as malleable as butter in a frying pan??? My guess, he promised to “take care of” the compromising material that Russia has…. meaning that the Ukrainian intelligence knows WHERE it is and HOW to access it…. Just a thought… that’s as I said the ONE theory I have… Another theory is that Trump IS a Russian planted agent (how we don’t know but I have some ideas…), and that Trump’s “goodwill” now is part of a game… Trump promises Ukraine things that won’t materialize later… Or maybe Trump got upset because Russia is so close with China… so now he’s turning his back on them… and, if China and Russia are so close, it’s good if Ukraine gets stuff that can hit Russia so it’s easier for Trump to deal with China… Who knows…

      I believe that Tr from the beginning wanted to bring Ry towards China, but the tariff tsunami made China pull Ry closer to itself.
      So suddenly Tr noticed that he no longer had any friends, and that flirting with Ry risked bringing the rest of the Western world closer to China instead.
      Perhaps it was intelligence about Russia’s flirtation with China that Zelensky was talking to Tr about in the Vatican.

      He is not saying at all that the whole of Ukraine should be returned.

      He says that Putin has had to give up a lot in the so-called “negotiations”. E.g. that he has had to give up taking the whole of Ukraine. That is, Putin has had to settle for the claims on the already invaded oblasts. This is what the trumpet is claiming is the big concession that Putin has been “forced” to make. Nothing to celebrate from my perspective…
