Something is happening up in Kursk – I dismissed all the concern as a nothing burger several days ago since the penetration point is very vulnerable for RU, and Budanov told me to say that.

But then came the sewage pipe attack followed by RU geolocating Starlink in Kursk, enabling them to place a FAB in the control points, followed by North Koreans entering Sumy and attacking again in multiple locations.

Everything is happening within a tight timeframe.

If we may speculate a bit, RU has probably reached an agreement with the USA to reclaim Kursk so that Starlinks in the area become blinking red beacons for RU. Consider here that there must be a fairly large number of successful control point combat operations before UA can start putting 1+1 together. And the next item on the agenda is that Elon no longer controls Starlink 🧐

There has also been complaints that Starlinks haven’t been functioning, I believe, and that would significantly weaken the defense.

Then they received reinforcements from NK special forces and deployed them in attacks + some sewage pipe crawling, which decided Avdiivka earlier. It was about 3000-5000 new candidates to die as mentioned?

The final maintenance road is not cut at all, but it’s possible that an already pressured situation has become unmanageable?

We are still waiting for the new attack vectors from UA across the border, and I am surprised they haven’t arrived yet because the defense is weak almost everywhere.

Do we once again have a situation where Ukraine is prevented from acting as they see fit?

Last Saturday, we received information that North Korean soldiers had attacked into Ukraine in Sumy, the first in the world after the osints and established media reported it on Bluesky and johanno1.se simultaneously as a violent DOUBLE newsflash.

European countries are now being attacked by North Korea – does anyone feel that Russia is taking its first tentative steps towards peace in the peace negotiations?

It is indisputable that Russia needs a breather – otherwise, Trump wouldn’t have pushed so hard as he de facto does, but RU constantly shows that they shamelessly exploit the situation to their advantage and never keep any promises – which is what they have done for the past 300 years.

Did you know that General Percival surrendered Singapore with 90,000 soldiers when the Japanese attacked with 30,000 – the Japanese knew that Percival didn’t know their numbers, and their strategy was to show strength when they were weak, and they almost fell off their chairs at the first meeting when Percival said, “fuck it, we surrender unconditionally,” they didn’t believe one could be so lucky.

Putin is doing something similar right now, but everyone can see that he’s on the decline, and it’s really only Trump who keeps painting RU as strong right now. The rest of the West is trying to provide Ukraine with what they need.

Here, Germany is saying exactly what I’ve been saying for a week now – that by September at the latest, things will explode if you thought I was just making things up (again).

Trump has also shut down important systems in all of Ukraine’s F-16s, which are the ones sent by EU countries, so the US MIC should die a slow death in the next 20 years.

There is now also much discussion about European countries leaving agreements against landmines and cluster munitions. You know how that went and that peace movements + others forced this upon us for peace in our time.

Have you seen any hint in this war that RU lacks mines, cluster munitions, or thermobaric weapons?

Have you also seen how effective mines, cluster weapons, and thermobaric weapons are?

Peace movements have caused a huge number of dead Ukrainians in their desire for peace on earth, but which is actually a Russian psyops, as anyone with a bit of insight has already understood.

You didn’t miss the post about U137, did you?

It’s under miscellaneous on the website, and the discussion is open.

A bit of a struggle between democracy vs. Trump here – de facto, he has been elected president and has 4 years, and right now, until the midterm election, all power is with him – both chambers and the Supreme Court, which is a bit of a dream for a president.

In the midterm election, voters can once again demonstrate how they feel the first two years have gone – you know as well as I do that the opposition is in full swing, so what the citizens currently think and feel, we don’t really know yet. Those town halls that have become lively for the GOP have reportedly had staged protesters – whether true or false, I have no idea.

Trump is now pursuing the policies he wants, and in the case of Ukraine, it’s wrong – yes, I can think that the USA has mishandled things for quite a while on the international stage, but in the case of Ukraine, it’s black and white, can’t be spun. Either you’re on the right side of history or you’re on the wrong side of history.

Promoting sacrificing a few to save the many doesn’t work morally, and if Trump had been calibrated correctly, he shouldn’t have chosen to sacrifice Ukraine. Is it global 5D chess? No, I don’t think so. However, I believe the USA is trying to make money off child blood as usual.

In the US election, you saw democracy – he was re-elected president because he was elected, and to circumvent that would have meant democracy had gone beyond the reservation and was no longer democracy.

In Romania, Georgescu is no longer allowed to participate in the election, but that’s because he has been arrested with direct ties to Moscow, weapons, money, and a lot more. Most countries do have laws on treason or high treason – so you can’t just do as you please even though you live in a democracy.

Personally, I can think that the developments we’ve had in the last 30 years or so with significantly increased crime, insecurity, corruption, and polarization in society were not at all what was best for Sweden and the citizens of Sweden, and it has not escaped my notice that we did all this in the name of goodness and the promise was that everything would get better, right?

Simply put, we should do what’s best for Sweden, then we should be fair to the group we chose to be part of, which is the EU, and then we shouldn’t do anything bad to others like starting wars against them or trying in other ways to profit from their misfortune.

And we should defend ourselves – self-defense, and we should defend our friends – also self-defense.

For quite a while, we haven’t done that – our countries have deteriorated, the EU is becoming more authoritarian (because everyone will always try to gain more power), and we in the West have started many unnecessary wars in the name of goodness in the last 30 years. And then we have disarmed to a level where we can no longer defend ourselves or help our friends.

Then we can try to assist countries in improving, but a large part of our aid is just money going into the pockets of dictators with kickbacks to those running the aid from the donor country – saw a lot of that in Angola.

We have had good times, our leaders have misbehaved, it hasn’t crashed, and they have gotten away with it.

Now, in this geopolitical atomic bomb that Russia has unleashed, it’s important to choose words carefully, be properly calibrated, have unwavering integrity, and have social talent and the ability to lead because one must bring citizens and other countries along on highly uncomfortable decisions.

There are few who can handle such leadership, and none of our politicians seem up to the task, even though the current government has handled the Ukraine war very well.

There are many more who can play leader in good times when nothing is demanded of them.

Zelensky has proven to be one of the great leaders of our time, and Putin as well, even though he ended up on the wrong side of everything, highly self-inflicted – Putin absolutely has the qualities required, but he was completely misaligned. Probably more so for Russia, as it is not an easy country to stay at the top of.

So, what about Trump?

Biden was absolutely NOT a great leader, we know that.

First of all, Trump does not significantly deviate from the US line regarding the Ukraine war, other than he is more actively trying to force UA into a bad peace deal now with a bit more hands-on approach than Biden dared.

It’s not the first time Starlink didn’t work, weapons were stopped, and diplomatic pressure was sky-high for Ukraine to accept a bad peace deal, right?

If Trump had been a great leader on the world stage, I think he would have approached Ukraine differently.

Domestically?

As strange as it may sound, we have two options here.

It is clear that Trump is making significant changes and that he needed the majority he has now to be able to do so.

Some of the things that are loudly criticized would also need to be done in Sweden, right? Jens Nylander has somewhat in the shadows pointed out rampant corruption in our common treasury, and tax collection is seen as party money, and the opposition is already starting to propose higher taxes. The line where we are seen as serfs whose earned money actually belongs to the state has long been crossed in my opinion. One feels that one can do as one pleases with tax collection.

THEN ONE MUST pursue a policy for the majority society WHICH IS THE TAXPAYING NEARLY GROUP INDEPENDENT OF ETHNICITY because they are the ones paying for the whole party, everything.

Families with children are the country’s future even though some find it very offensive and discriminatory apparently if we are to go by deleted posts on a certain site – THEY ARE THE FUTURE.

Educational system, research, making it easy for businesses and exports, and maintaining good relations with export markets – that’s how we bring in money to the country Sweden.

Has the school system been managed well, has basic research been prioritized correctly in Sweden?

And so on for quite a while…

Back to Trump and his domestic policy.

-either he is intentionally crashing the USA to benefit an “oligarch class” that then becomes significantly richer, including himself. Good intentions are used as Trojan horses. He will manage this for a maximum of two years until the midterm election, but he will likely cause damage.

-or he is genuinely trying to sort out what the USA has become in terms of corruption and weak leaders in good times who are not fulfilling their core mission but are burning dollars on other things that are fun – and then the majority society will feel that he is pursuing a policy for them and vote red again.

But strong groups will not like it at all – they will not go after the gray eminences unpunished.

There is an absolute cloud of information right now – for example, he is trying to lower interest rates so that the national debt becomes manageable.

Or that inflation will absolutely skyrocket and everything will crash.

Considering that we got negative interest rates after the turn of the millennium, which was not in the textbooks before that – can we really be sure that he will crash and that it won’t get better?

Regardless of my very loose thoughts – he has 4 years, and in the midterm election, he can be penalized with less freedom if citizens feel things are going wrong. Those who, in the name of goodness, want to remove him immediately – they have crossed the line in suggesting what can be done in a democracy.

However, he can be criticized.

Something that speaks against him, but that the Clintons also did, was “pay to play” – it costs 1 million USD to attend the dinners at Mar-a-Lago every weekend and 5 million USD to have a personal meeting with Trump.

How much do you think FIFA paid to have the trophy displayed at the White House 😁

It’s like he would start drinking Coca-Cola at all press conferences.

Do you think Biden signed all the weapon contracts for UA from manufacturers without kickbacks?

So far, it can be concluded that –

-he is not doing what is best for Ukraine

-he is not doing what is best for Europe.

-he is not putting the office before personal income.

The question then is how the USA will proceed, which we will have to wait and see, perhaps?

A very significant piece of information that someone posted in the thread on johanno1.se (where you should hang out if you want the latest so your lives get better right away and your grandchildren will like you) don’t remember by whom was the following –

-we have already heard that Russian mobilization is escalating because everyone wanted the signing bonuses before peace was achieved.

-at Kherson, brigades refuse to fight because they do not want to die before peace.

-none of the mobilized troops intend to fight, they just want the bonuses.

The question is whether Trump’s “peace negotiations” seem very demoralizing to Russian soldiers right now – I guess they do.

The weather is also extremely challenging for them.

POKROVSK has cut off all supply routes.

Then you have the mud season, which the conqueror of mud, Argus, sorted out for us in “that other worse thread” – around mid-April at the latest, the ground will be passable again.

So, there will be a month when the Russian front line soldiers will have nothing to eat, drink, or shoot.

For those who still haven’t realized that Ukraine has begun offensive operations, the following will unfold –

During the mud season, the Russian front line soldiers will be half dehydrated, half starved, and will lack ammunition.

Ukraine will take advantage of the entire period for what they are doing now – chipping away at the Russian defense.

As soon as the ground is passable, Ukraine’s offensive will intensify, and it can last at least until October this year.

They have ammunition and they have personnel now.

They have superior intelligence gathering

Their drone dominance is almost 100% (in prioritized front sections)

They have equipped the brigades with heavy vehicles.

They have the will to continue fighting, Trump has already said “they can continue fighting as they want” on film and has accused Zelensky several times of not wanting peace.

Ukraine intends to make a move this year.

Trump has made a whole battery of statements that are uninteresting.
However, a Russian robot rain came EXACTLY after the US stopped everything to Ukraine, and we all know that such operations are planned at least two weeks in advance – there’s a nail in Trump’s coffin for you.
And then the threat in Kursk that you hear about is a nothing burger – it will result in a lot of dead North Koreans.

Then a bit more came – Lukashenko has bragged about contributing to stopping the vodka flow and that Western security services thanked him for it, it’s quite tiring 😐

Maxar also confirms that they have restricted access to Ukraine – a COMMERCIAL SERVICE IN THE FREE MARKET THAT TRUMP STOPPED – the man who wants capitalism, right?

Then there’s RUMINT and I think it’s in Kursk that as soon as UA command posts turn on Starlink, they get a FAB on them, and it happens so many times that they see a trend in it.

Previous reports that the US provides targets to RU are probably the same as Starlink, and then the US (since Must no longer controls Starlink 🧐) has given RU access to the system, right?

And now Putin refuses peace in several statements – what has Trump done to Putin now in concrete actions?
He should at least try to remove Putin, right, if it’s supposed to be fair treatment, but we already know that it isn’t.
Also, beware of hot air from Trump now where he says he will do things against Putin that are just words.

On the battlefield, Ukraine continues with its local offensives and they are doing very well. It’s full combined arms warfare, and how can Putin win against the soldiers below in the video.

https://twitter.com/banderafella/status/1899045398322278908?s=46&t=Vah3JXV31B9lXwZOK5gF7w

Then there’s more Mirage and more JDAMS (French)

And Portugal provides 8 helicopters – in fact, Ukraine has well over 100 now, airborne assault anyone?

Then I hope you didn’t miss the comments section yesterday on johanno1.se, it made me think a bit and 9 trillion USD is “foreign debt.” Federal debt is 36 trillion USD.

If Trump really wants to solve the debt problem, then abolishing the Federal Reserve Act is the right way to go.

So far, he has increased control over the FED, which has probably made them a bit worried.

We all know what the FED is and how the system works, where the federal government borrows “money” from the FED, and 13% of the entire federal budget is payment on loans. It was probably in 1913 and the sh1t was passed the day before Christmas Eve at 7:00 PM or something (don’t remember and don’t feel like looking it up 😀)

There were rumors that Kennedy was going to sign an executive order or law to reclaim the right to money when he was assassinated – which is just that, unconfirmed rumors.

If Trump wants to do something good for the USA, that would be a clear step.

Before the Federal Reserve Act, the USA was probably quite prosperous and not drowning in debt, right?

But that means going against the gray eminences who hold all the money, and they are strong in all countries.

This may be a bit unrelated, but I find it interesting because it means challenging current underlying power structures, something very few can handle. But of course, he hasn’t done that yet and probably won’t.

But if he does, you will all hear that he has sold the country to Russia, but that would be good for the USA.

If you liked the post, feel free to share it on your channels,

If you want an engaging comments section that is really starting to pick up and is no longer just me talking it up on Bluesky – johanno1.se.

The AFRF🇷🇺 launched two missile and 113 air strikes at the positions of units of the AFU🇺🇦and populated areas, used two missiles and dropped 168 guided glide bombs. In addition, AFRF🇷🇺 carried out about six thousand artillery attacks, including 186 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 2,930 kamikaze drones to attack.

Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the AFU🇺🇦 hit nine areas of concentration of personnel and equipment, 12 artillery pieces, two command posts, a UAV control post, as well as one other important target of the AFRF🇷🇺.

    1. AFU: “In total, 140 combat clashes were recorded yesterday. The enemy targeted Ukrainian unit positions and settlements with two missiles and 113 air strikes, launched two missiles, and dropped 168 KAB. Additionally, they fired around six thousand shells, 186 of which were from rocket artillery systems, and deployed 2,930 kamikaze drones for attacks.”

  2. Musk is just so tiresome. It brings me great joy and satisfaction to witness Tesla’s value and see how it plummets, day by day.

This also has implications for the USA and the ongoing foreign policy debacle where the USA bullies and threatens a vulnerable democracy defending itself against barbarians. The USA is tougher on Canada and Mexico than on Russia. The USA has also dissolved the Five Eyes alliance that has existed since WW2 and is central to Oceania.

The USA is discontinuing cyber defense against Russia and undermining Ukrainian defense. In Sweden, there is already discussion about whether it might be appropriate to resume the Swedish nuclear weapons program.

I believe that through these debacles, the USA is losing strategically important partners in both Oceania and Europe, and this will cost the USA dearly. China is ready to replace the USA with “soft power” through strategic agreements and collaborations.

Trumpism will not reduce any budget deficits but rather undermine US global economic transactions with key partners. And the new darling is Russia, this kleptocratic mafia with gas stations. He knows the price of everything but the value of nothing. Good luck with the circus, GOP.

    1. Westley Richard

Now Trump has come out and said that he will buy a Tesla to support Musk. Does he expect all MAGA supporters to switch from their hillbilly monster trucks to Tesla?

      1. The AP funds are now buying more Tesla shares, already have shares worth billions. Instead, this money could be invested in the Swedish defense industry.

    2. The market is punishing Musk, which is hysterically funny.

I can guess that all trade tariffs will result in higher unemployment in the USA and a recession.

And then the freedom of action will be lost in the midterm election.

  3. Thank you for the very good analysis! What I want to mention is “a so-called cliché” but one that I believe in because I work as an organizational consultant, and the important phrase is “Culture eats strategy for breakfast,” and it is a kind of invisible force that we must believe in! The US army is not the Russian orc army! There will be a veteran march in the US on Friday, and the soldiers are already sensing that it stinks here, so I believe that if #fcktrmp #fckmsk try to take a step towards Ukraine/EU/Canada/Greenland with other hostile actions than his bullshit, then the culture will strike back! Remember that their handler #fckptn has a culture that has been created over hundreds of years and cannot have its own will! In the US, this is a whole different ball game……. YES; the US is a whole different story, so even if people are divided and Republicans/MAGA only listen to propaganda/lies that sound good to their ears, and Democrats are also mostly connected to Democrats and dwell in their own corresponding silo, aggression will awaken the deep culture! People are not that stupid! Max 30% are indeed stupid, which is the aggressive #fcktrmp core! I believe in culture and that if we bombard the US with the fact that their leaders are corrupt and deceiving them, it will start to change slowly but surely! It’s NOT 2 years until then. Here you see that the change is already beginning! https://ballotpedia.org/Elections_calendar

May the Force be with us!! #slavaukrainii

    1. Well written! Yes, we must trust that the majority at least supports the constitution and the ideals of freedom.

The radical Trumpism most resembles something that Mao could have come up with if he were American.

    2. 👍 Hopefully you’ll get it right! (Of course, the USA must do something about its economy and reduce its debt, but the axe that Trump and Musk are using is hardly the right way).

    3. Well said. One must attach their hope to the culture in the USA. It is not in swimming towards Russia. It is counterintuitive for Americans. The USA belongs to the free world and has a natural kinship with Europe’s democracies. May the Force be with us!

  4. “Under natten attackerade även ukrainska drönare oljedepån “Stalny Kon” i Oryol och flygfältet Dyagilevo nära Ryazan. Konsekvenserna är fortfarande oklara men bränder kunde ses.”

  5. “A restless night in Russia: Explosions hit Moscow, Kursk, Belgorod, Oryol, Lipetsk, Bryansk, and Ryazan. Drones struck apartments near Moscow, a factory parking lot burned, and train traffic was halted. HIMARS reportedly hit Kursk, and explosions were heard near a military airfield in Ryazan.”

    1. “Ryska försvarsdepartementet hävdar att gårdagskvällen var den största drönarattacken i Ryssland år 2025 (åtminstone). De påstår för närvarande att de sköt ner 337 drönare i tio regioner av Ryssland.

Ryska medier rapporterar att 91 drönare sköts ner över Moskva-regionen.”

  6. “Ukrainian Air Defence shot down 79/126 Shahed UAVs, 35 drones suppressed by EW, Iskander-M ballistic missile was also shot down.”

  7. “Russia’s Gazprom faces almost $20 billion in lawsuits from European energy firms.
European energy firms have filed lawsuits against Russian energy giant Gazprom totaling 18 billion euros ($19.6 billion) over gas supply cuts, the Moscow Times reported.”

  8. “Portuguese Leopard 2A6 and Swedish Stridsvagn 122 tanks, upgraded with Kontakt-1 explosive reactive armor and folding cages, are now in service with the Ukrainian military.”

  9. I do not agree that the US policy has not changed significantly from Biden to Trump. It went from bad to worse, and that is still a difference, a bit like with Biden, you were in a run-down car worthy of a student. Sure, the alternator belt needs to be changed every three months because it’s scratched with the wrong stuff, it’s cold as Nifelheim in winter, hot as Hell in summer, and has a crash protection like a can of Abba Fish Balls in lobster sauce, but it got you from A to B (true story). The new administration, on the other hand, is a bed of nails on the road, hands behind the back, and pepper spray in the face.

Biden was probably afraid of WWIII and therefore wanted to boil the frog slowly, or keep the conflict isolated and relatively simmering. Russia prevails and no chain reaction of collapsing states and civil wars when states try to break away from the Russian Imperialist Federation.
Trump, he wants to sit at the big boys’ table and divide the world into spheres of interest. He thinks it’s fun to be in the spotlight, and then he can strangle frogs and smear mustard on a cat’s anus to see what happens.

    1. One could say that he effectively prevented UA from winning, or one could use your paraphrase.
In my humble opinion, we have gone from bad to BLOODY AWFUL.
We have exchanged a timid hypocrite for a stinking lout (with fewer brain cells than an ostrich and the grace of an elephant).
      Sure, there is a difference.
The fact remains, if we hadn’t had lousy Biden (and various hopeless European “leaders”), the AWFUL Trump wouldn’t have been able to have such dismal effects.

Points for the assist, or whatever you want to call it… ☹️

    2. Westley Richard

President Reagan is turning in his grave when he sees what President Pest has done and what President Cholera is up to. Let’s hope that the American people realize that it didn’t get better by replacing Pest with Cholera, there are alternatives.

    3. Since I’ve been up since early, I saw when the USA released VDV near Kherson, urged UA to attack into Russia, revealed battle plans to RU, halted Starlink, slowed support, tried to force UA into peace, urged EU to send material, and generally spoke ill of Zelensly – he was ungrateful.

I see more of the same but Trump does it more openly

  10. The winds of change must come fiercely from within the USA against Trump. Let’s hope it has begun. If he is allowed to continue, it will not help with elections in either two or four years. The electoral systems will be replaced before then with “the world’s best” designed by Elon Musk with built-in bugs that guarantee victory, and overseers scared into confirming the system’s accuracy.
We are truly at the beginning of a nightmare, especially considering the latest regarding the “peace plan” supported by Trump. However, with a Europe that stays united and acts quickly and decisively, it can still succeed, along with the good side in the USA also turning the course of events right again.
Scary times, but as we always say, never give up!

    1. “The peace plan” seems vague in its outlines. There is neither peace nor a plan, it seems. We’ll see if the mists clear soon and what becomes of it. The only thing that seems clear is that the USA wants to get rid of the war. A crap war in Russia’s backyard as the USA sees it. That shouldn’t stop Trump’s grand designs on the world stage.

    2. Starting to reach the point where politicians in Europe must choose whether they want the war to be fought in Ukraine or in their own backyard. The advantage of Ukraine is that the civilian voters of European politicians do not perish, the disadvantage is that voters may hear the sirens’ call and replace the politicians.

  11. SÄPO today:

    – A foreign power uses security-threatening activities and hybrid operations to destabilize Sweden and the rest of Europe, says security police chief Charlotte von Essen.

    https://www.svd.se/a/bmBzvg/sapo-ryssland-storsta-hotet-mot-sverige

Those of us who have read world-leading analyses have known this for a long time.

My opinion is that Trump and associates are a total disaster for the world. What they do with the USA concerns me much less. At the same time, I want to echo the text above, as I understand it. Of course, primarily Sweden is the focus. But in some respects, we are probably quite similar to the USA. About the same tendencies here as there, or vice versa.

If one thinks they are sophisticated when expressing contempt for large parts of the population and disregarding the security of the majority and what they wish for, one cannot expect to receive votes from those they despise. Perhaps those who are now, rightly, horrified by Trump should have thought about that. Critical race theory, identity politics, defund the police, and similar are not things that people in general want. However, the “sophisticated” people like such things. It makes them feel good and at the same time, they can look down on those who do not like such things. Great for self-esteem. These “sophisticated” people are responsible for us now being in this situation with Trump. Americans are probably not as trusting of authority as Swedes, which is probably why it happens there and not here.

A side note. In Sweden, for historical reasons, it is impossible to promote something called “critical race theory.” However, since there are/were quite a few, especially within academia, who want to engage in such things, it became necessary to rename it. You probably know to what. The same thing under a slightly different name.

    1. I am pretty tired of the USA after this war and starting to feel that if they back off and the EU can increase, it would be good for us.

However, the risk is that the EU searches and China steals everything, but then I guess we have to blame ourselves.

  12. Westley Richard

General Rasputin should have taken up his post after a few months in hibernation. Just a few weeks ago, it was 18 degrees below zero in Pokrovsk, now there is a high of plus 18 so the frost should come out of the clay, add some rain later in the week and the clay will be just as sticky as you wanted it to be as a child.

We have seen what a massive drone takeover can do in Pokrovsk and Toretsk. This drone takeover, which makes it difficult for the Russians to supply their front with maintenance, is certainly taking place in more places along the long front. Budanov does not give us the whole picture.

Sooner or later, there will be openings in the front. Do we dare hope for a breakthrough?

    1. Do you remember the ships in the USA that crashed into bridges? Or two rounds of crashed planes with 3-4 each time.

The number of burning Russian ships is of course Ukraine but there are also quite a few accidents in the West right now.

    1. Westley Richard

“I will soon declare a national state of emergency for the electricity supply within the threatened area.”

Does anyone know what this means?

Canada is apparently going to raise the fee on Monday. It will be exciting to see if the power grid collapses on Sunday evening when everyone is supposed to do laundry, dishes, sauna, and charge their Teslas.

    2. As a better joke this 😲

The funny thing is that Canadian politicians have the support of their people in this, but Trump definitely does not.

  13. Here’s how the meeting in Saudi is going –

The US has ruled out Ukraine’s return to the borders of 2014 (before the annexation of Crimea) and even 2022 (before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation), — Sky News
American officials said they “don’t want to hear about any requests from Ukraine on this issue.”
    Bastards.
Why don’t you give Alaska to Putin?

    1. Both also, at the top level you are blue, but if you answer someone you are yellow. I saw that I missed it when I made the last change but haven’t had the energy to fix it.

        1. Westley Richard

It became quite annoying when Johan turned bright yellow. Now you don’t know if he has written something new or has replied.
One often follows the color instead of an indentation of 5 mm.

  14. Saudi should work as an override of UA before the USA talks to Putin. However, UA still has a representative there in Andrej Jermak. Saudi will not result in anything even though the media speculates.

    1. Completely incomprehensible how much nonsense Ukraine accepts without exploding here.
Can’t they just carve a permanent cross on Rubio’s forehead as a thank you?

      1. Yes, when will Ukraine have had enough? The country is not a doormat. It’s time to tell the USA that we can manage without you. We have other friends. It’s like a quarrel in a teenage family. Honor trumps everything.

  15. New bids –
UA accepts a 30-day ceasefire in exchange for the US resuming all material support (that’s how I understood it).

So now the US will try to get Putin to agree to it as well.

    1. The USA will immediately continue with intelligence and support, and now the ball is in RU’s court, as they will have to say yes unless they want to become the aggressor.

And the possibility of an extension if both parties agree. Possibly tricky since Ukraine only needs to say yes until the Moscow realm says no and officially becomes the aggressor.

    2. RU is likely to find it difficult with a ceasefire where the USA at the same time increases or at least maintains the material support to UA. Hmmm. It’s likely to be a no from RU. As it looks now. Future nobody knows.

  16. Now the day immediately got better – well played by UA.
Russia has now formally dismissed the ceasefire so the ball is comfortably in the US court to get Russia on board.
And the US has indeed resumed support for UA.

Let’s see if Trump does a U-turn here, interesting stuff.

  17. Now we might have a first opportunity to see one of Trump’s cards?
If RU does not agree to this and the USA has released its support, then logically the support should continue until RU feels compelled to a month-long ceasefire?

A moment of truth for those who believe that Trump is playing 5D chess, therefore.

    1. Now I don’t know if I have claimed that Trump is playing 5D chess, but I think he is now doing what he previously said he would do.

I do believe that RU would benefit from a ceasefire, but at the same time, they will appear weak. So, assuming they think they can keep going for a while longer, they will say no. RU’s arm needs to be twisted significantly for them to agree to anything other than exactly what their conditions are.

    2. Kamil Galeev, who usually has good analyses (about rubber tires, Russian weapon production, etc.), writes the following in his latest newsletter, and I interpret it as there probably won’t be any ceasefire from the Russian side if Kamil is right.

Let’s recall what we have learnt about the post-Soviet planning.

First thing you need to know is that the post-Soviets never take interests, or stance of the other side remotely into their consideration. They set their own agenda (“what we want”) and try to impose it onto the other side, forcefully. That is their plan A.

Another thing you need to know is that they never have a plan B in case their plan A goes wrong.

  18. Headlines in the media about UA agreeing to a ceasefire, but some conflict researcher believes that there will be no resolution unless RU also gives in.

    1. Threats of sanctions are probably the least effective against Putin. Threats to disrupt energy infrastructure (refineries!) probably bite harder.

  19. Another day when the comment section has reached high, higher than other forums and media in general! – As soon as the commentators here stop babbling about Trump’s appearance, Musk being a single-celled organism, Putin being generally crazy, and other emotional nonsense, it immediately improves.

All involved higher mammals most likely have an IQ above the normal range, including Trump, but they are all limited by their perspective, worldview, and actual room for maneuver. Traits like risk propensity or frustration are personality traits and not an expression of low intelligence….

Reflections on target images, ideological and economic motives, economic and political realities, as well as the personality of individuals (not intellectually, but just personality) decode the forum’s discussions on the US, Trump, UA, Zelensky, and others, better than ever.

    Great to read!
