Ukraine has previously on several occasions omitted Russian losses that they have caused deep inside Russia or on land occupied by the Russians. It seems to also apply this time since those 41 aircraft are not included.

  1. AFU: “A total of 146 combat clashes were recorded during the past day.
    Yesterday, the opponent launched five rockets and 66 aviation strikes at the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, used eight rockets and 115 controlled bombs. In addition, he carried out 5,854 shells, 104 of them were from jet fire systems, and deployed 3,634 kamikaze drones.”
  2. Decreasing attacks across the entire front, except in Siviersk. Continued high in Pokrovsk.

    An increasing KWIA/attack ratio of up to 8, for a loss ratio of 65% in an assumed 12-man group.

    Latest data furthest to the left. Oldest data furthest to the right (April 18th this year).

  3. Unfortunate outcome.

    “Karol Nawrocki, presidential candidate for the far-right nationalist party Law and Justice, becomes the new president of Poland. It is clear since all votes have been counted, Polish media reports.

    Nawrocki receives 50.89 percent of the votes against the centrist candidate Rafal Trzaskowski who receives 49.11 percent. The result is seen as a major setback for the current Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who once again needs to deal with a president from the opposition with veto power.”
    https://omni.se/hogernationalisten-nawrocki-blir-ny-president-i-polen/a/73zVEv

    Nawrocki is completely against Ukraine becoming a member of NATO.
    He seems to see himself as part of some form of peace settlement, and from this statement, one understands that Ukraine’s role is to be a buffer zone to Poland.

    “Trump, Zelenskyy, Putin, and I would be at the table, discussing whether Ukraine will be a stable buffer between the Russian Federation and Poland.”

      1. Yes, he is kind of a Polish Trump and focuses on the usual issues that the far right usually engage in. Stop immigration, ban abortions, accuses LGBTQ of sexualizing children, wants to stop same-sex marriages. The threat of climate change is nothing to worry about, etc. Vaccinations should be voluntary (although he also thinks there should be exceptions, so he wants to have his cake and eat it too).

        He wants to strengthen ties with the USA and NATO but does not want to be part of the EU. But then again, that’s also a bit typical of those on the far right who are usually against the EU but like a USA led by Trump.

          1. Yes, it was probably a long time ago that it was mandatory. But in a Nordic consensus culture, it probably doesn’t mean much in practice.

            1. Westley Richard

              The culture of consensus probably solved it when we were young, now fewer and fewer children are being vaccinated. It is not due to immigration either, as the major religions do not oppose vaccination. The resistance in the USA mainly concerns vaccination against sexually transmitted diseases as it can lead to promiscuity. In Sweden, the resistance is probably more dependent on some form of clean living and a neglected psychiatric care where various conspiracy theories are allowed to flourish.

  4. ❗️Judging by preliminary data, the total losses of 🇷🇺Russian strategic aviation over the past day were:

    Olenya Air Base: ✈️
    — 4 Tu-95MS destroyed. ✈️
    — 1 An-12 destroyed.

    Belaya Air Base: ✈️
    — 3 Tu-95MS destroyed. ✈️
    — 4 Tu-22M3 destroyed. ✈️
    — 1 Tu-95MC badly damaged

  5. This morning, Putin’s forces launched a drone and missile strike on Kharkiv. Two children are among the victims. Residential buildings, warehouses, and vehicles were destroyed in the attack. Rescue operations are ongoing.

  6. “A fire was recorded at one of the Russian airfields located in Tikhoretsk (Krasnodar Krai). The fire was observed in the area of two hangars. The airfield in Tikhoretsk is a military air base of the Russian Aerospace Forces. It is home to the 627th Training Aviation Regiment. The main aircraft at the base is the L-39 Albatross training aircraft.”

  7. Ukraine’s elimination of the 41 Russian bombers must surely be seen as one of the most magnificent in history, right? Not even any human losses (I believe). As usual, RU responds with civilian attacks with children among the dead. The clown Diaper Don Trump’s comments are as ridiculous as ever. Is he really as stupid as he increasingly manages to prove?

    1. The Russians want to break the resistance of the Ukrainian civilian population. Bombings are the means. To shoot the country apart from the air. It has been UA’s weak point and that is why UA has chosen to strike hard against the Russian bomber aircraft. The Russians also cannot use all of their strategic bombers in the Ukrainian war. A number must be saved for future needs. Has the critical threshold now been reached where the Russians must refrain from their TU-95 Bear and similar larger bombers? The Russian silence speaks volumes after yesterday’s successful Ukrainian operation. The answer must be delegated up to the very top.

  8. “The strike weakens Russia’s military capabilities and increases its costs of warfare. At the same time, the strike is symbolically and communicatively very important for Ukraine, because it shows that Ukraine has the ability to surprise Russia.”

    🇫🇮 https://yle.fi/a/74-20165133

    1. Yes, strategic bomber aircraft are important for the balance of terror. Russia loses in second-strike capability when there is a lack of larger missile carriers. This must be very sensitive for Russia.

  9. “The 🇱🇹Lithuanian Land Forces conducted their first HIMARS multiple launch rocket system training exercise on their territory with the support of the 🇺🇸US Army. Lithuania has ordered a total of 8 HIMARS MLRS”

  10. I wonder if the IT department knows why Johan no1’s daily (?) update hasn’t been published here? It has arrived in the email. Is it a delayed wet Friday hangover that is the cause?

    1. Good question but I can’t answer. He usually posts his post in the evening with scheduled publishing at 07:00. There was no post made this morning.

      He might have forgotten about it, or maybe had trouble logging in or something.

    2. Now saw that he wrote 11 hours ago on BlueSky that he can’t log in. He’s probably stuck in the firewall. Will check it out with him.

        1. Well, otherwise the emails work too. Or the contact form on the site.

          I wonder why he’s getting stuck in the firewall. If it’s something he’s doing or if it’s someone malicious who might be using the same public network that caused it to be blacklisted.

          I’ve asked him to come back with the IP number so I can unblock it for him.

  11. Regardless of what one thinks of Greta and her efforts, I must say that I find it unworthy of a senator to mock her. Unfortunately, many politicians have stooped to this level nowadays, not only in the USA.

    “In a post on X, American Senator Lindsey Graham mocks the Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and her journey to Gaza.

    “Hope Greta and her friends can swim!” writes the Trump loyalist Graham.

    The sailboat Madleen left the port of Catania in Sicily yesterday with Thunberg and eleven activists on board. The goal of the trip is to try to bring aid to the war-torn Gaza and raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis in the area, according to the international activist group Freedom Flotilla.”

    1. The thing is to create headlines in the media. Preferably some confrontation with Israel. That’s probably a must for a successful voyage. The activists have sacrifice shirts packed in their backpacks.

  12. Tesla is struggling in Sweden.

    “The registrations of Tesla cars in May continued to decrease significantly compared to the same period last year, according to data from Mobility Sweden.

    In May, Tesla sales in Sweden decreased by 53.7 percent.”
    https://omni.se/teslas-forsaljning-fortsatter-rasa-i-sverige/a/OoOEv1

    In Norway, however, they seem to have no issues with Tesla:
    “The skepticism surrounding Elon Musk lately has not stopped Norwegians from buying the Tesla CEO’s electric cars. After a slow start to the year, both in Europe and in Norway, sales have turned significantly upward and are now better than last year, reports the Norwegian E24.
    So far this year, 7,300 new Tesla cars have been registered in Norway, compared to last year’s figure of 6,700, according to the industry magazine Bilbransje24.”
    https://omni.se/uppsving-for-tesla-i-norge-modell-y-bakom-okningen/a/73zp44

  13. Reuters publishes the “peace conditions” proposed by Ukraine at the upcoming talks in Istanbul.
    Among them:

    — a complete ceasefire for a period of 30 days;
    — exchange of prisoners of war on the principle of “all for all”;
    — no restrictions for the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
    — no recognition of territorial losses;
    — meeting between Putin and Zelensky;
    — the Russian Federation pays reparations.

  14. Ukraine should do a Hiroshima – Nagasaki, to show that they can do something like this every fortnight.

    The Kerch Bridge should be a low-hanging fruit?

    1. UA’s next project should be to access KAB and FAB in some way. They are probably figuring that out. They are taken down by regular combat aircraft.

  15. Westley Richard

    The Russians must be slightly panicked. If spiderweb was initiated more than a year ago, why wouldn’t spiderweb 2.0 be deployed 😈

    1. Exactly, if it started being planned 18 months ago, what else could they have come up with since then that hasn’t been revealed yet?

    2. Sure it is – they needed Europe and the USA to remove all restrictions, perhaps?

      The Kerch Strait Bridge, more ships, airbases with regular flights, Moscow, and so on.

      Something big every fortnight just to keep the Russians on their toes

  16. “The record-breaking attacks on Sunday will be used as part of the negotiation game between Russia and Ukraine, believes Russia expert Malcolm Dixelius.

    According to him, it is important for both parties to show that they are not backing down and continue to be dangerous to their enemies.

    – The Russians are trying to sell the image that they are completely superior and it is only a matter of days before Ukraine will fall, they know that it appeals to Trump to talk to a winner, says Dixelius.”

  17. The meeting between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul on Monday is over. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says that the countries are planning a new prisoner exchange, but he does not mention how many may be released from each side.

  18. The former dictator of Syria, Bashar al-Assad, and his now deposed regime have lied when claiming that they do not know anything about what happened to the missing American journalist Austin Tice. This is shown in secret intelligence documents that the BBC has access to.

    Tice was arrested near Damascus in 2012, and the al-Assad regime consistently denied knowing what had happened. However, he has been interrogated by Syrian government officials at least twice between 2012 and 2013.

    1. Westley Richard

      We’ll see if this is noticed at the highest political level in the USA, they tend to be a bit sensitive when their citizens disappear without a trace.

      There is also pressure from the new Syrian regime that would like to have Assad in exchange for a normalization of relations with Russia.

  19. “Zelensky: Held a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Thanked for the reliable support from the Alliance. Spoke about the agreements on the exchange of prisoners and return of children, as well as Russia’s refusal to accept an unconditional ceasefire.

    Only a significant increase in pressure can change this refusal. We also discussed further diplomatic steps and defense support for Ukraine. We are focusing on increasing our long-range capability. It is also important that Ukraine is adequately represented at the next NATO summit in The Hague.”

      🔹 International recognition of Crimea, Donbas and Novorossiya as part of Russia.

      🔹 Neutrality of Ukraine.

      🔹 Holding elections in Ukraine, followed by the signing of a peace treaty.

      🔹 A ban on the redeployment of Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the exception of movements for the withdrawal of troops.

      🔹 A ban on the reception and deployment of nuclear weapons in Ukraine.

      🔹 A ban on the supply of Western weapons and intelligence.

      🔹 A waiver of “mutual claims” in connection with the damage caused in hostilities.

      They have about the same expectations as a child writing their wish list to Santa.

      1. “A ban on the redeployment of Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the exception of movements for the withdrawal of troops.”

        Translated to:
        “Prohibited for UA to defend themselves next time we attack” 🙄

  20. Aaah, so the war is starting for real?!!? The attack seems to have hit the pro-Russian trolls hard! 😂😂😂
