      1. Yes, sometimes it seems like the Russian war machine is running on autopilot. The numbers often remain stable, many times they do not change from one day to another in a sector. Can’t rule out that it has to do with the reporting.

  4. Regarding armored vehicles yesterday. Has anyone heard more about any rumors of a train carrying armor and tanks in the southern part?

Can’t find any statement from operation command south (Odessa region). So probably considered a rumor and nothing more. Probably nothing the general staff has a reason to hide, unless they are trying to verify losses, etc.

    1. We suspected the Sumy region, but (Telegram source DeepState https://t.me/DeepStateUA/21970):

      🟡The situation in Sumy region

🏹 As we noted earlier, Kindrativka and Oleksiivka have moved into the red zone after the clarifications. The enemy has completely occupied these settlements, is amassing infantry there and continues its attempts to move deeper into the territory. Next on the Katsaps’ path is the village of Khotin, which they set out to occupy and gain a foothold, as well as attempts to get into Mala Korchakivka. In this area, the Muscovites managed to reach a 20-kilometre distance to Sumy, so we can expect FPV drone strikes on the city over time, when the relevant crews are ready and there is no hunting for them from our side.

⚔️ The situation in the Novomykolaivka-Varachyne-Yablunivka-Yunakivka area is difficult. The enemy has come close to these settlements and is trying to occupy them completely and gain a foothold. The damage around Yablunivka is being recorded, and the Katsaps are also trying to get into Yunakivka, but there is nowhere to hide because they have destroyed everything there. Separate attention should be paid to the area of Lokny, where the enemy is trying to climb east of the village and enter the forests in the direction of Sadky. If the enemy infantry gets there, it will be extremely difficult to drive them out.

🇷🇺 The main resource of the Muscovites is the superior number of infantry, which moves like a horde and simply does not end. To this end, the enemy has concentrated significant forces in the area after ousting the JFO units in the Kursk region. A variety of drones serve as fire support, but it is worth noting that both in Sumy and many other areas, the enemy hardly uses equipment, but relies on infantry (often on motorcycles) and drones to knock out logistics and positions.

    2. The following text has been posted about a Spiderweb 2.0, where Moscow sources tell that Ukraine has planted drones in railway wagons intended for grain. The same train set also had armored cargo loaded. The drones are said to have lifted out the grain wagons, disabled the locomotive so the train stood still, and then calmly disabled the military cargo.

      1. Westley Richard

There is certainly some truth in that but also a lot of speculation about what could be achieved with a little creativity.

UA probably prefers that this information spreads and that the Russians are forced to inspect every truck, container, and railway wagon, it affects the logistics extremely negatively for the Russians.

  5. Ukraine used only domestic drones in Operation Spiderweb, Zelensky says. “I wanted very much to use only what we produce and to have the separation (be) very clear,” President Volodymyr Zelensky told ABC News.

  6. Zelensky urges US to act on Ukraine’s request to buy air defenses after deadly Kharkiv bombing. “These Russian strikes are not ‘retaliation’ but acts of destruction,” the president said as Russia attacked the city of Kharkiv with KAB guided bombs the evening of June 7, killing at least two people.

  7. ‘I am against Ukraine’s entry into the European Union,’ Polish president-elect Nawrocki says. “Ukraine must understand that other countries, including Poland, Hungary, and other European countries, also have their own interests,” Polish President-elect Karol Nawrocki said.
    — Kiev Independent

Baltic states issue statement backing Ukraine’s EU, NATO  membership. They argued that Ukraine’s NATO accession would “consolidate a just and lasting peace not only in Ukraine but also in all of Europe” and help uphold the rules-based international order globally.
    — Kiev Independent

    1. Strange reasoning. One wants to be a part of the EU oneself but wants to prevent others from joining because they see them as competitors and not potential partners. If everyone reasoned like that, we would not have had an EU.

      1. 🇺🇦 Ukraine is not only fighting for its own freedom – they are defending our common idea of Europe. 🇪🇺

Listening to the incoming President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, is not just distressing. It is a dangerous message, both to Ukraine and to the Kremlin.

At the same time, our friends in the Baltics are standing up. They see what is at stake. They know that Ukraine’s place in the EU and NATO is about much more than membership. It is about security, stability, and a rules-based international system.

Those who believe they benefit from slowing down Ukraine’s EU path should ask themselves:
Who gains the most from dividing Europe from within?
It is not the people of Europe. It is not future generations. It is those who thrive on fear, corruption, and power without accountability.

Ukraine has already paid the highest price for being part of our community.
We must ask ourselves: How high a price are we willing to pay to betray them?

We stand on the side of history where justice, freedom, and long-term responsibility weigh more than short-term, inward-looking interests.
And let us not forget: Those who weaken Ukraine weaken Europe.

    2. It is probably the agricultural sector that is complaining. With Ukraine in the EU, it will be tougher for all other major agricultural countries, even French farmers are likely to have opinions. After all, the EU is a trade union and not a federation/state.

    1. I suppose this also applied to all other countries that were part of the Soviet Union. Those who did not master Russian had little chance to pursue a career, become a respected author, etc.

      1. Westley Richard

Not even unique to the Soviet Union, but rather according to form A1 when occupying another country’s territory with the intention of incorporating it into its own territory.

        1. Yes, that’s how it is of course.

(Then we have the opposite, when the nobility and all high-ranking individuals in Sweden wanted to be fancy and speak French.)

          1. Westley Richard

Of course, it is terrible that the nobility in the 18th century would be influenced by the biggest influencer of the time 😱

I prefer our modern enlightened society where no one would consider imitating any influencers.

Furthermore, it’s not just the nobility who have tried to show group belonging through language, it also applies to the fancy chimney sweeps with their jargon and all those youngsters with their slang.

In addition, these fancy noblemen and chimney sweeps have also contributed to the development of the Swedish language, as several words that we use daily come from there.

It’s just 🙈🙉🙊 to realize that even the youngsters will enrich our language in the not too distant future.

            1. No, wasn’t that terrible?
We have received so many nice loanwords that have enriched our language.

I was thinking more about how the use of language can be used to differentiate us in different groups, while sometimes it is the opposite, that there are demands for uniformity instead.

              1. Westley Richard

In my world, the expression “fina i kanten” is a bit tart 😶

The pendulum probably swings back and forth, we have stopped belittling Sami people, Roma people, people from Skåne, etc., in order to integrate them into society, and instead we celebrate minority groups and pour subsidies over them. When this starts to go beyond our Swedish norms and values and suddenly different groups’ norms are supposed to be guiding, the pendulum will swing back when it goes beyond the uniformity that makes us a country.

Right now, the Social Democrats are running for election by highlighting the cultural differences, for them the pendulum has just swung back.

          1. Westley Richard

The Western world has stopped colonizing the world by force, Russia has not reached that stage of development yet, they are still at the ape stage.

  8. ⚡️ 40 ENEMY UAVS NEUTRALISED

On the night of 8 June (from 21.00 on 7 June), the enemy attacked with 49 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of imitator drones from the directions of: Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russian Federation, as well as an anti-ship missile Onyx (launched from the TOT of Crimea), two X-59/69 guided missiles (launched from the airspace of the TOT of Zaporizhzhya region).

❗️ The main areas of the air strike were Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

💥 As of 09.00, air defence defence neutralised 40 enemy Shahed-type UAVs (and other types of drones) in the east, south, north and centre of the country. 22 were shot down by firepower, 18 were locally lost/suppressed by electronic warfare.

Enemy air strikes were recorded in 5 locations.

  9. Moscow was attacked by drones: the mayor of the capital of the aggressor country told the details

On the night of 8 June, Russia complained about an attack by “Ukrainian” drones on Moscow. Against the backdrop of explosions and fires in other regions, they claim that “drones were shot down over the capital region”.

This was reported by Russian Telegram channels. The propagandists refer to a statement by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

According to him, Russian air defence allegedly destroyed two drones flying towards Moscow and the same number of drones attacking the Moscow region.

He said that in the latter case, emergency services were working at the site of the “falling debris”.

At the same time, a fire broke out at the chemical plant of JSC NAC Azot in Novomoskovsk, Tula region of the Russian Federation, during a night attack by a UAV. Local residents said they heard five to eight explosions and saw “air defence systems operating”.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, satellite photos of the territory of the Kronstadt drone manufacturing plant in Dubna, Moscow region, Russia, were leaked online. According to them, more than eight hits were recorded as a result of a drone attack on the morning of 28 May.

At the soldier’s cemetery in Kharkiv, the high price that Ukrainians are forced to pay to resist the Russian invasion is evident.”

  11. “Logistics of the Russians moving toward Ukraine’s border destroyed in Belgorod region. Losses include a BRDM and various vehicle types. Ukrainian pilots of the Perun unit, 42nd Mechanized Brigade, carried out the strike.”

  12. ⚡️ Ryssland intar byn Loknia i Sumy Oblast, enligt övervakningsgruppen.

Loknia ligger cirka 30 kilometer norr om staden Sumy, nära den ryska gränsen i ett strategiskt exponerat område.

  13. Sorry if it turns out to be true.

“Russian troops claim to have advanced into the Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrovsk in the country’s central part, reports AFP. If the information is accurate, it would be the first time Russian forces have entered the region since the full-scale invasion began. Ukraine has not yet commented on the reports, but if Russia has reached the important mining and industrial region, it could have serious consequences.”
    https://omni.se/a/W0zVba

    1. Westley Richard

The Russians have been 1-2 km south of the Dnipro region, south of Pokrovsk, so it’s not entirely unlikely.

The question is whether they intend to continue westward or if they continue north to try to encircle Pokrovsk.

  14. Donald Trump is using a rare law to send the National Guard to the demonstrations in Los Angeles, writes the New York Times. Normally, it is the governor of each state who makes such a decision. The last time a US president called in the National Guard was in 1965, when Lyndon Johnson sent troops to Alabama to protect civil rights demonstrators.

      1. I don’t think it’s as serious as Trump wants to make it sound at all. However, it could become serious if he deploys the National Guard.

    1. Lammis watching ruzzian empire go BOOM

Seems to be part of an ongoing conflict between Trump and Newsom, the Governor of California. Trump has apparently threatened to cut federal funding to California, Newsom has responded by threatening to withhold $80 billion in tax revenue from the federal budget in that case.

      1. California’s economy is no joke, what happens when they and other more well-functioning states have had enough of the USA’s ingratitude?

    2. Nanette Barragán, congresswoman for the Democrats, launches a harsh attack on Donald Trump following the president’s decision to send the National Guard to Los Angeles to assist in the effort against the major protests. “He is escalating the situation and causing tensions to rise. It will only make things worse,” she tells CNN.

      1. He wants disorder and chaos, in order to take control like Putler did after the high-rise explosions and the hostage drama at the theater.

Soon he’ll probably rename the national guard to Usgardia.

    3. 😂
“Donald Trump praised the National Guard’s efforts in connection with the protests in Los Angeles even before the National Guard was in place. Several media outlets report this. ‘Very well done by the National Guard in Los Angeles after two days of violence, clashes, and unrest,’ the president wrote on Truth Social during the night towards Sunday.”

  15. “We agreed with Biden on transferring 20,000 missiles to Ukraine to fight ‘Shaheds.’ We counted on them, but the US recently sent them to the Middle East instead, says Zelenskyy.”

I pondered a bit on where that lunch came from and a little learning is never wrong.

TANSTAAFL is an abbreviation of the English expression “There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch”, in Swedish “Det finns inga gratisluncher”. The meaning is that nothing is free, and translated into Swedish as TIANÄG, “Don’t believe that anything is free”.

The expression was popularized by the American science fiction writer Robert A. Heinlein in his novel Revolt in 2100. It has later also been made known by, among others, the economist Milton Friedman.

        1. 👍
Revolt against the Earth is an old favorite, but it’s been many years since I read it and honestly can’t remember the phrase from it.

  16. Westley Richard

The Accent man speculates that the Krymbron was just a diversion where they tested their underwater drones with a range of 2000 km.

He believes that the real target is Vladivostok and that it is entirely possible to ship the drones to Japan/South Korea by container and launch them against the fleet in Vladivostok.

    Dream or reality?

    1. Sounds like maybe someone wants to make the Russians even more paranoid, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they would come up with something like that.
