There is a lot of backlash against Trump’s mullah-busting effort even among sensible debaters, but that is not the main concern – we will return to that below.
We have long wanted the US to increase its efforts in a whole war, and in Ukraine, it has not worked out with Obama, Trump 1, Biden, Trump 2, and we have a good idea why in the past, and we have a good idea about Trump now.
Iran is de facto at war with the West/us – it should be enough that they pay the Kurdish fox to carry out attacks on us for us to cheer when the consequences rain down on Iran, right?
Iran is also causing trouble for the Kurds, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, and other countries.
Taking down Iran, which Israel seems to want, is good, very good, not only for the Iranians themselves and the Middle East but also for us.
Then it’s bad for Russia because they are on the verge of losing an ally in the region, and it is their last foothold there – geopolitically very significant.
I can understand that the whole pro-Russian space has been activated now, but it is strange that Bildt, Rosenberg, a lot of usually sensible debaters, and others are against this.
Haven’t they understood that we are already at war?
We have become accustomed to the fact that it is the evil side that constantly escalates outside the box, but there is nothing to say that we cannot do the same as long as it is proportionate, which it was.
To keep shouting about human rights and international law when we are at war is a bit strange – and when it comes to Iran, even more so.
Anyway, the Iranians themselves, the 97% who are not part of the leadership, are very grateful for the developments.
Now, onto the concern – the one who carried out the operation against Iran is Trump, who has received absolutely scathing criticism. When it comes to the opposition in the US, I think it is domestic politics, but Russia is also there, reinforcing as usual.
European leaders have taken a passive role – now negotiations must take place.
We have been hearing this chatter since February 2022, and the only thing happening is that global escalation is increasing because nothing ever has any consequences.
We can safely assume that Trump has to some extent accommodated Putin regarding Iran, even though Putin would probably have preferred that Trump did not bomb all the facilities.

Israel has taken out most of the leadership staff and headquarters of Iran’s security apparatus, so it’s no surprise to guess that they want to bring down the mullah power.
We are in a situation in the West where our elected officials are largely doing the right thing, but at the same time, they must keep an eye on domestic politics.
And it’s on fire right now – the slightest thing and the opposition, debaters, opinion makers scream about at least Nazism and promise to bring down the government.
Russian influence – yes.
Opposition seizing their chance – yes.
All sorts of idiots seeing an opportunity for five minutes in the spotlight – yes.
And Russia knows how to play them all.
So Russia wants to delay and prevent decisions for as long as possible – in 2022, steel helmets were the red line for nuclear action if you remember.
Kier Starmer has big problems and Macron has fallen silent.
Only now in 2025 is the eastern border towards Russia seriously being prepared to be mined again – yes, you read that right, it is not sealed off yet…
The only one who has struck against the Axis of Evil is Trump, and at best, he has received support, but with clear statements that negotiations must now take place by other Western leaders, and at worst, he has received scathing criticism.
And Trump is Putin’s buddy 😭
So the rest of the West is even worse than Trump – let that sink in.
I support the attack along with 97% of the citizens in Iran, but right now the West has pulled a Belarus with Iran and not allowed the people to have their freedom.
And Trump has given Iran a second chance with Russia, and the whole West applauds it.
It’s exhausting 😶
There is no return to a normal state in the world – the Axis of Evil has begun its journey to the top, and they will either succeed or we will bring them down.
Doing nothing leads to suffering and increased suffering.
It is far too attractive for our politicians to do nothing because then they risk nothing.
They are easy to influence for foreign powers by infiltrating organizations so that politicians depend on the support of certain groups and must push certain issues, but also through our gang criminals and criminal clans who can exert pressure.
You don’t get any prizes for guessing that Putin does not like the current government in Sweden, which has been a bit too aggressive, so the whole Russian gang for influencing Sweden will wholeheartedly support the opposition.
I don’t know if this is what we are already seeing or if this is the true nature of the opposition, but in 2026, it will reach storm strength in any case.
Have you seen the terrorist attacks in the West in recent weeks – all of this is Russia, and then it is amplified to the maximum on social media.
Since we have a higher threat level, our elected officials are playing down such things right now, which is good.
Today, in the summer of 2025, we are at the point where our politicians have managed to unlock billion-dollar contracts for the arms industry – it looks like they are doing something, and a whole sector is very grateful.
In reality, we have not done anything, and every day we are playing with the risk of Ukraine collapsing.
Now Putin has tried to assassinate Zelensky again… I lost the link, but it was officially from UA. If they succeed, it’s probably game over.
Ukraine is tired of the war, and at some point, it will also break there, and we will face a fait accompli with the whole mess in our lap.
But the most important thing – it is now in the year 2025 that Putin must test Europe because then the border will probably be permanently sealed off.
So far, we have been right about –
-Iran
-increased amount of sabotage and subversive activities in the West.
And we are waiting for –
-Russian escalation
What could crash the timetable?
-One would like to say Trump, but I still believe that much is happening in consultation with Putin, although Trump seems to be under some internal pressure because he probably would have preferred not to strike Iran at all.
-Merz?
Merz seems to be the politician in Europe with the strongest mandate to take uncomfortable positions right now, and he takes all the positions at once.
Most recently, his unequivocal support for the Baltics.

He is becoming so uncomfortable that he might have a heart attack?
In 2026, only Sweden and Denmark have parliamentary elections among those that matter, so there are no major opportunities for Russia to bring about changes.
No matter how I twist and turn this, Europe is not ready – the USA is one step ahead and evidently can strike when necessary, but Trump is playing with us and NOT doing what is best for us.
Our leaders are not doing that either because they believe that doing nothing is the right way forward.
And Russia sees less and less of a troop presence on site as an opportunity not to miss.
Europe is not ready for a war, and Putin knows that better than any of us.
The only country that is ready is Finland – they have never let their guard down, their emergency supplies are full, and it has always been highly esteemed to go to the shooting range or keep personal skills sharp – a soldier has status in Finland.
They also cherish the memory of their difficult times, perhaps a little less in 1918 but from 1939 onwards, the country was united.
I seem to see more and more Winter War anecdotes from what I read, so they are probably starting to mentally prepare to strike the Russians once again, maybe?
Israel has had the advantage of having a “tough” (or whatever one writes) group of Jews in the country who have never backed down from a fight, and they also have a tradition of valuing military merits – if you have been a paratrooper, it is as valuable as a degree from Harvard in the workplace.
Israel is a prime example of how people from different backgrounds can unite around a country’s flag and fight for something they believe in, and if October 7 had not been initiated by Russia, things might have gone in the right direction.
In fact, Russia is behind a large part of the conflict and has been for a long time – they deceived Syria into attacking when it happened because they presented “evidence” (completely fabricated) that Israel would attack the following week.
The more combative Israelis have protected the less warlike parts of the civilian population, who, however, have also stood up when needed.
The question is, what has 2025 done to that fighting spirit and how much have drone weapons shifted Israel’s advantage.
However, they have a button that, in the face of an existential threat, will launch their nuclear weapons at the capitals around them – if we go down, you go down is the message.
Europe is a bit peace-damaged, but so far we have been protected by the Ukrainian spirit, and so far managed to avoid making difficult decisions while Ukrainian children are tortured, raped, and murdered in large numbers.
The question is how long Ukraine can handle this without Zelensky falling and the country agreeing to a peace in our time negotiated by us morally higher-standing individuals in Europe.
If Russia attacks the Baltics, it is only because we have allowed it.
Or if they attack Ukraine from Belarus – that could have been avoided in the years before the invasion of Ukraine.
The invasion of Ukraine itself could probably have been avoided if Europe had let Belarus fall.
Yes – one can become slightly conspiratorial and believe that everyone is sitting and dealing like Trump for world domination and enslavement of us.
But the truth is probably that our elected officials are cowards, those who are not cowards cut Russia down in various ways, gladly through “unexpected resignations,” and then there is such a large buzzing of opposition, paid politicians and debaters, and useful idiots that our politicians find it difficult to navigate.
The entire Cold War was like this, and the lead-up to WW2 as well – the difference from the Cold War is that the USA no longer projects that threat against Russia, which seems deterrent, and then there is reason to believe that the escalation will continue until it stops.
It will probably stop in 2026 when the entire border with Russia is mined, but it is not today.
Zelensky is starting to look stressed again, Trump has prevented asymmetric warfare since November, and right now Ukraine is retreating in northern Luhansk.
Europe verbally opposes Ukraine giving up land, which is commendable, and our arms industry is now active, but what happens if Ukraine collapses?
Nothing good, of course, except that Putin manages to advance his positions, and this is the risk that Europe has chosen to accept a full-scale war, so I don’t even think they have a risk list they are working with.
Zelensky at least has evidence that RU is planning something with Europe.

The upside is that Sirsky announced that UA can now begin offensive operations.

And that UA recently struck in Sumy.

It was also rumored that UA SOF carried out a liberation act against Russian missile silos in the far east – let’s see if Dengamle is there 🧐
The conclusion can only be that for this to end happily, Ukraine needs to free us from the Russian Ural threat, so we continue to fully support Ukraine – it is the easiest way to achieve real peace in our time.

I don’t think it’s strange at all to criticize the USA even if you think it’s good that the mullahs are getting a beating, just like you can criticize Israel without necessarily being a Hamas fan.
Two thoughts in your head at the same time, you know…
When Russia violates international law and other international laws, it doesn’t take seconds before the whole forum screams out its anger and frustration, quite rightly, but if the USA does it, is it okay? If they have broken the law, they should be criticized, period!
The reason Bildt and others do this is exactly as I mentioned earlier, if you criticize one side when they go too far, you should be able to criticize the other as well, otherwise your credibility disappears faster than you can say Tehran.
HOWEVER, it should be added that the nuclear agreement with Iran has NOT been torn up, it is only the USA that withdrew, the remaining four (five?) countries are still in it. There are indications that Iran enriched uranium to a higher degree than the agreement allowed, and that is why the USA withdrew (to be able to hit them later if they didn’t stop). That is the reality we have to deal with.
Once again, we should probably be a bit cautious because we actually don’t know if the USA has taken out the nuclear facilities or how far Iran had actually progressed in the development of nuclear weapons or if the agreement had already been violated and which laws apply then.
Agree.
If Finland decides to acquire nuclear weapons, is it completely OK for Russia to bomb them then?
Russia cannot allow a neighboring country that clearly does not like Russia and with which it has been in conflict before, to have nuclear weapons, you never know what they might do…
Well, they could just bomb directly, no need for any evidence. It is enough for Russia to claim that Finland will have nuclear weapons within a few months, then it’s open season.
Right?
Do you have difficulty distinguishing between a democracy and a dictatorship that supplies terrorists around the world with missiles that they shoot at everything and everyone?
👍
No, not at all but you seem to deliberately want to misunderstand the point.
Person A kills person B. Convicted of murder.
Person C kills person D who is known for assaulting people and stealing cars.
Should person C be convicted of murder or praised?
The soldier who fights to protect life acts within a framework of responsibility.
The one who fights to destroy, without regard for justice or necessity, steps outside the moral and legal foundation of humanity.
Admittedly Swedish law but better to refer to it than Sharia law.
In Sweden, there is a right to self-defense, also known as necessity, regulated in Chapter 24, Section 1 of the Penal Code. The right means that one may use violence or threats of violence to protect oneself or others from an ongoing or imminent criminal attack. However, it is important not to use more violence than necessary, and that the action is not obviously indefensible considering the nature of the attack, the significance of the threatened party, and the circumstances in general.
I equate bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities with disarming the threatening party and that it has not been an unreasonably excessive use of force.
If you are attacked by gang criminals, you are allowed to defend yourself and even disarm the guy holding the gun before he has fired.
Now there was criticism against the USA’s sharp action against Iran that I anticipated 😀
In silence, I am pleased that the USA is at least trying to disrupt Iran’s nuclear weapons program, but I agree that the USA is on thin ice and at best can drag out the justification for it as self-defense on behalf of Israel. We are lucky that the country that often openly interferes in other countries’ affairs has been on our side, the question is just whether that country still stands by our side. And why shouldn’t China then be allowed to enter countries and “restore order”? We here probably agree that democracy, despite all its flaws and shortcomings, is the best system, but it is not a consensus among the majority of the world’s countries. Likewise, I have long considered myself a friend of Israel, but Netanyahu is cut from the same cloth, the same ilk, as Trump. The country’s best interests are not in Bibi’s eyes, and he is willing to sacrifice Palestinians, Iranians, and Israelis alike to protect and benefit himself. And in the Israel/Palestine conflict, one can probably blame most of it on the UN. It was the UN that created present-day Israel and Palestine in 1947 without really sorting it out.
Good yellow wall by Johan today. Much to reflect on. Personally, I see that the threat to the West is something we create ourselves with our left-leaning public sphere fixated on caring for all the world’s vulnerable groups. Like how women advocating for peace are seen as more noble than men who are in the firing line like in Finland. Yes, we have an enemy from within. Russia can only watch the spectacle. This Russian influence is probably not as significant as we think.
Ok ?!
RU is not a threat, it is ourselves who are. So why should we then arm ourselves and praise men at the shooting range?
RU is an absolute threat. Absolutely. An Axis of Evil as Johan says. But the West’s focus on political and social justice makes it difficult for us. We are polarized and divided. When Trump does something good for once, it’s still not good anyway, because he is right-wing. The culture war in the West continues to rage on. Yes, it’s people against elites.
However, when someone on the left wants to do something that is actually good, the right-wing puppets are quick to condemn them, just because they are from the left.
Ok, do you have any example.
When S suddenly made a 180-degree turn and suggested that we should do as in DK, tear down the areas that have problems! Something that SD has said before.
Then the right-wing group came to life, where suddenly they thought it was not a good idea at all.
Yes, I can buy that.
The need for people at the shooting range is due to individuals like Putin and Russia..?
Wanting everything to be fair, or social justice, I see no issue with, compared to the opposite.
Conservative backward-thinkers who don’t believe women should be allowed at the shooting range as it’s becoming in the USA, however, is a problem as it reduces the potential pool for producing good soldiers.
If you were to ask frontline soldiers who is most important, many would likely answer healthcare workers, those who have the ability to save their lives, or ensure they don’t have to amputate a leg or an arm.
But I agree that we are divided, some want peace at any cost and are willing to submit to Russia, while others don’t think it’s worth the cost to arm up or to help Ukraine, etc.
Therefore, it’s important to have democratic elections where everyone has the chance to have their say.
My wife and I were at the shooting range this morning 😀
I’m probably not so conservative after all 😉
There you go! 👍
Thank you for today’s yellow wall!
The problem with the USA’s attack on Iran seems to be connected to the fact that Iran did not openly attack either Israel or the rest of the world, then they were attacked by Israel and then the USA came and bombed them. If one doesn’t see it as them already being at war with everything and everyone and then abiding by the rulebook, it’s not so strange that some criticize it.
If one assumes that they are already at war with Israel and the rest of the world, then of course the USA’s attack was obvious.
Personally, I have no problem with the attack as such, the problems I see are that Trump carried it out entirely on his own without approval from Congress. Whether one thinks it was right in substance is irrelevant, he has disregarded the democratic rules in the USA and apparently can do whatever he wants (because there are no consequences other than loud complaints). We don’t know what he will come up with next time, but no one will stop him.
The result of the attack (the war actually seems to have ended) is a bit mixed.
On the plus side:
1. Iran’s defense capability has been drastically reduced by Israel.
2. Iran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons is hopefully delayed for many years.
3. A quick end brought down oil prices again (a disadvantage for Russia, good for Ukraine).
4. Russia loses reputation both in the region and in the world (but how much does it affect them).
On the downside:
1. Iran’s leadership remains in place, no liberation for the people.
2. Russia can continue its business with Iran.
3. Russia’s logistics in the region remain unchanged.
Israel has benefited greatly from Iran being partially demilitarized, and the whole world is a safer place with an Iran without nuclear weapons, but beyond that, not much has been achieved.
I argued that for Ukraine, oil prices were most crucial, as Russia needs the money. The counterarguments were that they are also dependent on weapons and parts from Iran and also on the transport routes.
Iran is not knocked out, the leadership is not replaced, they will surely calm down for a few years regarding Israel, but their support for other terrorists and criminals around the world will continue. The people will continue to be oppressed (and some more will surely become fanatical).
Certainly, Russia appears cowardly for not helping, on the other hand, it ended so quickly that they hadn’t had time to do anything. I see the negative effects for Russia as negligible.
If one had wanted to neutralize Iran completely and inflict great damage on Russia, the war would have needed to continue and end with a real victory and a change in leadership (and preferably a democratic process).
I am becoming increasingly convinced that Trump and Putin were in agreement. Putin promised to help convince Iran to lay down their weapons, Trump and his side promised to only stick to bombing. Trump got his triumph, a quick attack, knocking out nuclear weapons, and then quick peace. Russia was minimally affected. (The oil price was lower before Israel attacked, so Russia has managed to earn some during that time anyway.)
Trump, Putin, and Netanyahu are probably all satisfied.
I think we can stop calling it a war or attack on Iran. It’s a war against the mullahs!
Shouldn’t the USA have intervened more forcefully in that case?
Jo but not necessarily with bombs but support for the 97% of the population who do not want to be ruled by fundamentalists.
Of course, the two of them agreed.
Israel can probably continue on their own, right?
If Trump had pushed, Iran would have fallen, so he saved Iran.
We need more – you don’t do business with the Kurdish fox unprepared.
On one hand, Iran would have gladly fallen (if it had happened quickly, I do care about low oil prices 😀).
On the other hand, if the USA had taken a tough stance at the same time as Iran had not done anything directly against the USA, it wouldn’t have been just Bildt and a few others who condemned them.
Perhaps it was for the best that it turned out as it did.

Great with artillery 👍
If I could choose, I would confront Olle in the same way as Putte uses nuclear weapons, both the EU and NATO! “If Zelensky is murdered, NATO and the EU will actively engage in the war.” Do you think he would step back a bit from trying again then? But it should be a threat that is decided upon with some silly documents, etc., so that Putte & co see that it is serious!
Above all, it is important not to do like Putin, ignore the red line if it is crossed.
There have been many occasions when I think the West should have set red lines.
For example, before the dam was blown up, warnings were given well in advance. It would have been a good opportunity.
You mean that one should have drawn a red line similar to when one wanted to force Russia into a ceasefire and threatened with massive actions, which turned out to consist of adding another ten people to the sanctions list?
We are not ready for it Jari – we tried to bluff in March and Putin called our bluff.
But yes, we need to toughen up Finnish-style.
Lite perkele, skadar inte 😉
(Note: This text is already in English and does not require translation.)
Yes, simply speak a language he understands. Issue ultimatums, project power, and be prepared to make the threat a reality if necessary.
That’s what Trump did this time, when he didn’t want to be Taco anymore, and I think that really brought the mullahs down to earth.
But the USA does a little like the USA usually does. They never win hearts and minds. They bomb Iran, but if the pressure had been kept up for two more weeks, the people could have risen and swept the problem away from the world. Who knows, we might have had two democratic countries in the Middle East then. Now they just push the problem ahead a couple of years and the Iranian population has to pay the cost when the mullah regime has to unleash its aggressions.

“The Social Democrats want to introduce new requirements on how quickly the police should arrive at the scene after an alarm. This was stated by party leader Magdalena Andersson and the party’s legal policy spokesperson Teresa Carvalho at a press conference in Almedalen.
A similar requirement, known as response time, currently exists for the fire department. Introducing the same for the police, according to Andersson, will “ensure that there is a strong police presence throughout the country”.”

Easier said than done after all the cutbacks that have taken place during the Social Democratic Party’s terms in office.
But yes – it would be appropriate for the police to back off on quite a few crimes now.
There were quite a few smaller police stations with a handful of police officers where most of them had internal duties and dealt with internal administration. Not surprisingly, they were closed down as they did not contribute much to preventing crime. The important thing is that there are police officers out in the villages who are familiar with the problems and those who most often cause problems, where they are based is just symbolic politics.
One puts a hand to the forehead, S has no scruples at all! Why did they let Dan “The Disaster” Eliasson destroy the police force and turn it into an administrative hell?
Appoint non-police administrative staff to handle everything and let police officers be out there just being police officers.
Instead of coming up with political nonsense, set a limit so that within a certain radius and number of residents there should be a certain number of police officers, and it will solve itself!
An important part of police work also involves driving around with substance abusers who need to get to care or closing roads at traffic accidents, something that others should be doing.

In a way, one can understand it, leaks are to be avoided, but it would be a way to severely impair Congress’ transparency and thus impair their ability to act correctly.
By the way, who decides what is classified? Will it be Trump who decides that?
“The Trump administration wants to stop sharing classified information with Congress after leaks related to the US attacks on Iran, say several sources to Axios.”

He could check through his WhatsApp groups first, one would think.
That’s probably just one step in his plans to become a dictator. If Congress is prohibited from receiving necessary information, they have essentially become irrelevant, and Trump can govern by decree even more easily than he has done so far.
Lol. Clean in front of your own door first.
If one should praise Trump for something, it is probably that he got the NATO countries to invest 5%, right?
🇩🇪Merz:
“We are not doing this, as some claim, to do the United States and its president a favor,” he told the German parliament before setting off for the gathering in The Hague.
“We are doing this based on our own observations and convictions. Russia, above all, is actively and aggressively threatening security and freedom” across Europe, he added.
“We have to fear that Russia will continue its war beyond Ukraine.”
Sure, it is in our own interest, but I actually believe that Trump has played a major role, if nothing else to expedite the process.
Yes. Trump’s words and threats have had an effect. Not just his actions.
Yes, sure, let’s see what Spain’s penalty will be, are they just allies on paper?
Exciting to see how long it will take before we reach 7%, probably depends on how much of the money goes to American arms manufacturers.
It’s probably good that it’s being upgraded, just a shame that it has to come up from such a low level in most countries.
This thing about achieving the goal has been criticized by the USA before, even Obama.
When Trump did this during his first term, no one wanted to listen, because it was Trump who said it.
That he was completely right and that he was also right in that everyone expected the USA to come running if something happened, no one cared about. Wrong person said the right thing!
Now the idiots woke up!

Trump expressed full support for Article 5. At the same time, Anna-Lena Laurén pointed out in an article about Iran’s Araghchi’s visit to Moscow that Trump, with the bombing raid against Iran, has shown that if he wants to, he can give Ukraine the advantage in defense against Russia:
“Putin’s [ability] to influence [Trump] is virtually non-existent. Israel is militarily superior to Iran and Putin cannot change that (while Trump, if he wanted to, could give Ukraine the advantage in the defense war against Russia).” (translated from Swedish)

Russian soldiers tried to shoot down 🇺🇦Ukrainian FPV drones that attacked a fuel train a few days ago near temporarily occupied Melitopol”
Another case of sabotage, and who else but the Russians have anything to gain from it?
“In Erfurt, Germany, unknown individuals set fire to Rheinmetall military logistics trucks, causing serious damage. Footage of the arson was shared by Russian sources—leaving no doubt about who was behind it and who stands to benefit.” https://bsky.app/profile/specialkhersoncat.bsky.social/post/3lsist3zxt226
“Russia has long recruited agents to conduct military sabotages—even in the very heart of Europe. It’s time to wake up: the Russian threat is not at the gates of Europe—it is already deep inside. The question for Europe now is: how do you counter it—and are you prepared to respond symmetrically?”

Carl Bildt – is absolutely right when he points out that the US bombings violate international law. Of course, we should stand up for international law, but at the same time, it can be wrong to do so at times.
It is a bit off when serious political commentators like Carl Bildt, after a precision bombing of the Iranian revolutionary regime’s development of nuclear weapons, choose to emphasize technicalities about whether the threat meets definitions of immediacy for the party that acted, it does a disservice to international law and the entire rule-based order.
The development is a pragmatic and natural reaction to the fact that malicious actors acting in bad faith – often in well-planned and well-organized ways – have long realized and exploited the fundamental values and principles that are the very key to the success and greatness of the Western world, are also easy to “weaponize” against the Western world.
Sometimes this happens when people, without malicious intentions, just try to take as much advantage as possible of a system and a political culture designed to protect individuals’ technical rights almost to the point of absurdity, regardless of the damage they cause to society as a whole.
Often it happens in a consciously malicious way by our enemies who know they can hide behind our democratic systems and values.
Hamas and Iran are excellent examples on the international stage, but there are many more.
Criminal gangs are another example where every rule and right is systematically and well-organizedly exploited to protect their own.
All of this can be tolerated to a certain extent.
But in a situation, and that situation has long been present if you ask me, democracies need to act against groups and phenomena that, in bad faith or on an unsustainable scale, abuse our principles and rules to harm us or even defeat and obliterate us.
This can only be done by adapting the rules or by breaking them.
There are tremendous risks in starting to tamper with these principles.
But the solution is not to stubbornly cling to the rulebook one grew up with when the world looked completely different.
Sometimes you have to adjust your principles.
If you don’t, you will only be run over by those who act against a free and democratic society.
Carl Bildt and others should wake up to the reality we are in.
Absolut – but at least when it comes to the Middle East and Turkey, it was a long time ago that Bildt was seen as a *serious* debater, right?
Carl Bildt is a typical technocrat or eurocrat. He sees his main task as managing the regulatory framework. He is a theoretician. Yes, we also have Kristersson and Strömmer who are politically active now here at home. They are cut from the same cloth. It is difficult to muster any enthusiasm for this type of politician. Where are the orators and the leaders?
Kloka ord.
Well written.
International law does not really recognize the concept of preventive attack. And rightly so, actually. In this case, I think most people believe that the intention was good.
The only problem in my opinion is that Congress was bypassed, he tried, and it worked, now he doesn’t need to ask anymore.

Commander-in-chief Sursky of Armed Forces of Ukraine:
An intense workday in the northern Slobozhansky region. The defense of the Sumy region is one of the most important tasks right now.
In summary, it can be noted that this year’s wave of attempts at a “summer offensive” by the enemy from Russian territory is being suffocated in the same way as last year – the attempt at offensive actions by the enemy in the Kharkiv region. However, our previous decisions are already yielding results.
The advance of Russian troops in the border area of the Sumy region has been halted this week, and the front line has been stabilized.
In some areas, our units are successfully using the tactic of active defense and liberating Ukrainian territory in the border area of the Sumy region.
In the northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, we have once again tied up approximately 50,000 Russian soldiers, including elite brigades from their airborne troops and marines.
Our offensive actions in the Glushkovsky district in the Kursk region forced the enemy to send some of their troops to defend their territory. This significantly reduced the offensive capabilities of the enemy’s main forces in the Sumy direction.
In the command of our grouping in the northern Slobozhansky direction, a special group has been formed for the defense of the Sumy region – cities and communities in the region. The main tasks are to strengthen fortifications and expand the system of engineering and fortification barriers.
An official has also been appointed to be directly responsible for preparing cities and communities in the Sumy region for defense and ensuring the effectiveness of the system of technical obstacles on likely enemy attack routes.
A deputy for engineering and fortification equipment issues has been appointed.
I have analyzed the actual situation directly in the fields and forests – inspected the fortifications, especially in the part that OVA and DSST are responsible for. Work is ongoing, but it should be expedited considering the requirements of modern warfare.
Construction of additional fortifications, organization of “kill zones,” construction of anti-drone corridors to protect our soldiers and ensure more reliable logistics for our troops – obvious tasks being carried out, but the effectiveness in performing such tasks must be significantly increased. Within the set deadline, I will return for a check.
I have “synchronized the clocks” with the commanders and soldiers on site in the Sumy region and at the brigade command posts. I am grateful for all feedback and suggestions. I have given necessary orders regarding organizational matters and unit supply.

From the 8th report
In the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian units repelled 14 attacks by the occupiers over the past day. The enemy also carried out eight air strikes, dropping 20 guided aerial bombs, and carried out 263 shelling attacks, including seven with multiple launch rocket systems.
I see that I forgot: 👍
End of June, both Putin and Trump guarantee that RU does not intend to test Europe.
Just that is a reason to mobilize 😳
Risk of Trump withdrawing from Europe in September and leaving the door ajar.
High risk
It would suit Trump nicely if market risk escalated in Europe
Yes. A Russian denial is just a confirmation that this is the plan.
By the way, I saw that an underwater cable between England and Holland is down….
From socmedia this morning (kind of):
The one who does something decisive is loved by some, hated by others, criticized on formal grounds by those who dare not take a stand, and reluctantly acknowledged by some as “well, okay then, for ONCE he/ the stupid fat demented idiot/ did something sensible”.
On the other hand, the one who settles for half-measures is hated in all camps…
Regarding how well one now knows, believes, or claims to have succeeded in Fordow (*I* don’t know!).
Passivity is otherwise a widespread management strategy everywhere these days, the one who has done nothing cannot be criticized for anything they have done? Sigh.
Regarding the assassination attempt, United24Media wrote 2 days ago (link can be found by searching):
“In 2024, an assassination attempt on Zelenskyy was planned at Rzeszów Airport, according to Ukraine’s SBU.
The suspect — a military retiree and staunch Soviet loyalist — intended to attack using a drone or sniper rifle. He was detained before carrying it out.”
Well said ✊

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei says that the US hit nuclear facilities during its attacks.
He also threatens to attack the US if subjected to further assaults and that Iran will never give up. “The fact that we have American bases within reach is a great advantage. All future aggressions against Iran will cost them dearly.”

At least 12 people have been arrested after the incidents and it is still unclear what may have been injected into the victims, writes The Guardian.”

The best thing is probably to euthanize those who have been stung to avoid any risks.
Then if you want to kill some people, just walk around with a regular needle and prick them so the healthcare system can take care of the euthanasia just to be safe..?
Sigh, the speculations continue. (Starting to remind a bit of Russia spreading all sorts of rumors so that people will eventually get tired and stop believing in anything.)
“The 400 kilograms of enriched uranium missing after the attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities could have been moved to a facility deep inside the Kuh-e Kolang mountain near the bombed Natanz facility. This is reported by The Telegraph.
The facility is so deep underground, perhaps a hundred meters, that it is inaccessible even to the US’s so-called bunker busters used during the attack on the underground Fordow facility.”

Article in DN about it. Unlikely that such a move has escaped the inspections carried out under the auspices of the UN.
Never ends..
“Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium is largely intact after the US attacks on the country’s nuclear facilities, according to intelligence shared with countries in Europe. This is reported by two sources with good insight to the Financial Times.
According to the information, a large amount of the enriched uranium was not located at Fordow when American bombs fell on the nuclear facility. The intelligence indicates that the uranium instead has been distributed to several different locations, the sources said.”

Sweden
“The Sweden Democrats’ white paper shows that the party has a Nazi heritage with connections to National Socialism, anti-Semitic statements, and extreme remarks.
The white paper covers the party’s history from its formation in 1988 to 2010 when the party entered the parliament. According to Gustafsson, National Socialists were accepted in the party from its founding until 1995. During the 1994 parliamentary elections, double affiliations were common – meaning that individuals were members of the SD and in “more or less militant Nazi groups” such as Riksfronten and White Aryan Resistance.
– Most of those who were active at this time at higher levels have persistently denied connections, says Gustafsson.
In the mid-1990s, the SD tries to change direction. Gustafsson says that the last exclusion case he found of a party member with a National Socialist background is from 2007.”

By the way, does anyone have a copy of the Left Party’s white paper?
Although it may have only been published in 10 copies. 😀
I think one should be careful with which years one chooses when it comes to the different parties and our media.
Did Aftonbladet actually congratulate Hitler on a successful extermination of Jews back in the day?
So really, if one is to be fair, shouldn’t all parties be given a new chance?
Cherry-picking is not serious.
Cherry picking?
It was they themselves who released the white paper?
But I understand what you mean, for example, it’s not possible to hold a grudge against Germany now when there are hardly any survivors left from World War II.
Europe must build an army of drones to be prepared for a potential attack from Russia. That’s what EU’s Defense Commissioner Andrius Kubilius tells Sky News.
Drone warfare has evolved significantly during the war in Ukraine, and Kubilius himself has visited the country to see how they are used. He talks about an area at the front called “Valley of Death”.
– Nothing can move there. Drones control everything. A conventional tank can survive for six minutes, he says.
russians returned to the tactics of transporting BCs disguised as civilian transport. Yesterday, 7 trucks with a 20-ton trailer of civilian appearance with military license plates were recorded in Mariupol. Again – disguised in white as “humanitarian cargo”. All were moving in the Polohiv

“Alliance Division of the 225th Assault Regiment destroyed buildings with Russian forces.”
“US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth criticizes the media’s reporting on the American attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities. He claims that the information stating that the facilities were not destroyed is ‘fake news’ and accuses several TV channels and newspapers of being against Donald Trump.
‘It’s like it’s in your DNA, in your blood, to be against Trump. You so badly want him to fail that you have to hope that the attacks may not have been effective,’ says Hegseth.”
“The civil defense in Gaza reports that 56 people have been killed by Israeli forces on Thursday, AFP reports. At least six of them are said to have been killed while waiting for emergency aid, spokesperson Mahmud Bassal said.
The death toll from today’s events, which the IDF has not commented on, has been raised from an earlier estimate of 35, writes the Times of Israel.
During the day, Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, during an EU meeting in Brussels, called the situation in Gaza “a catastrophic genocide”.”

The new macro figures from the USA provide support for those who have warned of stagflation. The final GDP growth for the first quarter landed at minus 0.5 percent on an annual basis compared to the expected minus 0.2 percent, according to Trading Economics’ compilation of estimates.
At the same time, the core PCE for the period rose by 3.5 percent compared to the expected 3.4 percent.
US futures are reacting negatively while the gains on the Stockholm Stock Exchange are diminishing.
“The US trade deficit in goods was larger than expected last month. This is evident from statistics from the country’s Department of Commerce, reported by Direkt.
The trade deficit stood at 96.6 billion in May. This is 9.6 billion more than the previous month. Analysts had expected a deficit of 88.5 billion dollars, according to Trading Economics consensus data.”
https://omni.se/storre-handelsunderskott-an-vantat-i-usa-i-maj/a/wgoR6G
Does the trade deficit increase despite the tariffs?
Seems like it.
Maybe just because of them.
The trade deficit varies more than usual.
In March it was 138 billion
In April it was 61 billion
In May it was 96 billion
The average for 2024 was approximately 94 billion.
The average for the last three months is approximately 98 billion.
Slightly worse than last year, at the same time the USA has collected some money in tariffs. Suspect that costs for companies in the form of production disruptions are significantly higher than what the USA has collected in tariffs.
“According to South Korean intelligence, North Korea may deploy additional troops to Russia to take part in the war against Ukraine in July or August. In addition, Pyongyang continues to supply weapons to Russia.”

“Revealed: Russia’s major aircraft scam
Russia has managed to acquire aircraft parts worth almost eleven billion Swedish kronor since February 2022, despite it should be impossible.
Sanctions from the West have failed in this area, as shown by an investigation conducted by Yle.
The sanctions against the Russian aviation industry have been exceptionally tough, but Russia has built a network that allows them to still obtain many aircraft parts.”
Willpower vs flattery
“Russia’s economy is deteriorating more than the Kremlin wants to admit and is now at great risk of a systemic banking crisis within the next 12 months. This is according to anonymous Russian banking officials speaking to Bloomberg. Much of the concern is based on increased levels of ‘bad loans,’ the sources report. Despite the Kremlin’s attempts to keep a lid on it, discussions about the economy became public during last week’s international economic forum in St. Petersburg.”
“A new arms race between Russia and the West will lead to the fall of Vladimir Putin’s regime, according to Poland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski. In an interview with several media outlets, he says that Russia is heading towards the same fate as the Soviet Union, which was dissolved in 1991. Sikorski argues that Putin ‘scares the entire Western world’, which has led, among other things, to NATO member countries now investing more in defense.”
A nice old tradition 👍
