SLAVA UKRAINI

  1. AFU: “In total, 171 combat encounters were recorded during the past day.
Yesterday, the enemy launched one rocket and 60 aviation strikes at the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, using two rockets and 119 controlled bombs. In addition, carried out 5681 shelling, 108 of them from jet fire systems, and deployed 2,674 kamikaze drones.”
  2. “Kontors- och servicestationlokaler skadades vid attacken mot Charkiv, enligt regionens åklagarmyndighet. Ingen skadades vid kvällens attacker.”

  3. Russia has heavily invested in its nighttime attacks recently and has sent more drones and cruise missiles, etc. than ever before. Ukraine manages to shoot down a large part of them but unfortunately not all.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Putin is dissatisfied with the outcome and has ordered Trump to stop all deliveries of LV…

“The USA is halting promised deliveries of certain types of anti-aircraft missiles and precision-guided ammunition to Ukraine, the White House announces.

According to Politico, the decision was reportedly made in early June, after Pentagon policy chief Elbridge Colby raised the alarm during an internal review that the USA’s weapons stockpile was running low.

White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly says they have decided to prioritize US interests after the inspection.”

    1. The article at The Guardian is unfortunately locked for me, but it doesn’t seem to be just about air defense.

“More confirmation by NBC: The U.S. has paused a major weapons shipment to Ukraine, including dozens of Patriot interceptor missiles, thousands of 155mm howitzer shells, over 100 Hellfires, 250+ GMLRS precision rockets, dozens of Stingers, AIM air-to-air missiles, and grenade launchers.”

  4. One starts to wonder… there is news after news, where the USA stops weapon deliveries to Ukraine. It smells more and more like they are trying to help #fckptn! Worrisome, and then the #krasnov question arises more and more in my mind!

    1. There you see that one should refresh! Meanwhile, as I was writing, that super-efficient Mats slipped in between! All credit to our work ant!

    2. Maybe it was a mistake by Zelensky to ask for more military aid the last time he met Trump. When Putin saw it, he called Trump directly and made sure the deliveries were stopped.

Or maybe Trump himself realized that it’s a smart move to get Ukraine to give up now when Russia is shooting more shit at the civilian population than ever before and air defense is needed more than ever.

      1. There is something very strange about this man. Perhaps as simple as #fckptn topping up with cryptocurrency (bribes yes), to get what he wants! Whatever the reasons may be, it still smells as usual with #fcktrmp!

      2. Probably a condition for the US to help Israel bomb Iran.

He had also transferred 20,000 anti-aircraft missiles earmarked by Biden for Ukraine to the Middle East before the attack.

And then there was probably some Russian government plane that landed in the US the day after the attack, so maybe a little personal gift came then.

Looking at what Trump is doing from a Russian perspective, there is probably some logic to it. Destabilize the EU and the US, make it difficult for Ukraine, and reduce the US’s reputation and influence around the world.

  5. Germany still weighing Taurus missile supply to Ukraine, Merz says. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz also cited the Taurus missile system’s complexity, saying it requires at least six months of training — something Germany has not yet agreed to begin.

  6. “An even tougher future awaits the poorest in the USA if the budget package that Donald Trump calls “the big beautiful proposal” becomes a reality, writes New York Times’ Tony Romm in an analytical text.

Just before the Senate’s vote, a Yale report was released showing that the poorest fifth will have a 2.3 percent lower income after taxes with this budget – while the richest will increase theirs by the same amount.

“Increased tax benefits for companies and high-income earners, while millions risk losing their health insurance and thousands of jobs in renewable energy and healthcare sectors are likely to disappear,” she writes, adding that it will have “significant” effects on the country’s economy.”
    https://omni.se/analys-budgeten-vacker-for-rika-brutal-for-fattiga/a/nyoJBQ

So, it wasn’t his core voters, MAGA, who would benefit from the tax cuts.
Or that it would be a compensation for the higher prices caused by tariffs.
Of course, it’s the rich who will be rewarded with lower taxes while workers get worse healthcare.
Well, well, MAGA will cheer anyway because Trump can’t do anything wrong.

Didn’t Trump promise to reduce the national debt?
Now he is raising the ceiling and at the same time proposing a budget that will continue to increase the national debt from the start. Admittedly, at a slightly slower pace than the average of the past 10 years (where Covid admittedly accounted for a large part).”

  7. Off-Topic USA

A bit meager not being able to afford subscribing to trade magazines, on the other hand, most things are published online nowadays so it shouldn’t be a problem for those who want to stay updated.
Admittedly, newspapers function a bit like a filter where at least a small quality control is done.

Funny (and perhaps clever) that he, as an advocate of alternative medicine, criticizes newspapers for pharmaceutical propaganda… I guess he is deeply involved in the alternative medicine jar because if there is something that essentially only exists to milk people for money, it’s alternative medicine.

“Scientists and other employees at several American agencies are losing access to a range of scientific journals, including prestigious Nature, writes Ars Technica.

Health Minister Robert F Kennedy Jr, who advocates for alternative medicine, has previously claimed that scientific journals are “a tool for pharmaceutical propaganda.”

    – Precious taxpayer money should not be used for unnecessary subscriptions to junk science, says health department spokesperson Andrew Nixon, according to Nature News.”
    https://omni.se/kennedy-jr-drar-in-vetenskapliga-tidskrifter/a/PpQza0

    1. My experiences are a bit old. Back then, people read paper copies of scientific articles, which they ordered through the library. Of course, you could also go to the library and browse through the journals that your own library had.

I assume that subscription here refers to online subscription. If you can no longer subscribe, it must reasonably mean that you don’t have online access. Maybe you can go back to ordering a paper copy!?

I don’t understand how one can conduct science without communicating with colleagues. But as I said, maybe you can go back to paper copies.

I wouldn’t use the term “newspapers”. Journals are probably the correct term.

In a scientific journal worth its name, all articles are carefully reviewed by a knowledgeable researcher before being published – peer-review. It may work better or worse at times. Especially between different fields. But I find it hard to believe that this better or worse can be applied to the journal Nature. There is, of course, “junk science” as well. But what can be done about it? Throw out the baby with the bathwater – so to speak.

  8. Yesterday, the Russians shelled one of the hospitals in Kherson with artillery: five patients and three nurses were injured.

▪️Russian forces attacked Nova Poshta terminal in Sloviansk overnight using drones.
▪️In Kharkiv, a one-story building caught fire as a result of a Russian UAV attack…
▪️The Russians struck the Kupyansky district with drones and killed a man. Another person was injured.
▪️Yesterday, the Russians killed 2 people in the Donetsk region,10 people injured.
▪️At night, the Russians attacked Odesa region with strike drones. Port and tourist infrastructure was damaged.

  9. USA has also stopped UA from placing orders for materials from manufacturers so boldly with this stop.

But in line with how Trump has shown to work on the subject of Ukraine

    1. Correction, Southern Slobozhansky (Kharkiv) received the numbers from Northern Slobozhansky (Kursk, Sumy).

  11. Trump Approval Rating
Now he is rising again, 42% for. 54% against and 5% unsure gives -12%.
I wonder if the reason for this slight increase is the involvement in Iran, as well as the relief that it did not lead to a prolonged war.

  12. USA – Customs
Pure mafia methods, “whatever figure we now set”.

“With just days left until Donald Trump’s tariff pause expires on July 9, the American president has threatened to raise tariffs against Japan. This is reported by the Financial Times.

On Monday, Trump tried to put pressure on Japan by urging the country to buy American rice. Japan responded that it will not sacrifice domestic farmers just to ensure tariff concessions from the USA.

    – I will write to them and say ‘thank you very much, we know that you cannot do what we want, and therefore you will pay 30 percent, 35 percent’ or whatever figure we now set, says Trump.”
    https://omni.se/trump-till-japan-ni-gor-inte-det-vi-vill-tullarna-hojs/a/1MaGKQ

  13. “Putin ljuger tills han tvingas berätta sanningen
Putin har medgett att Ryssland står inför en ekonomisk katastrof – inte främst på grund av sanktioner utan som en direkt följd av Putins egen grymma och meningslösa “speciella militära operation” som har tömt ekonomin, förstört liv och isolerat Ryssland”
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uk4dL74N5JU

  14. We’ll keep our fingers crossed that it will happen.

“Hamas is ready to enter into a ceasefire agreement with Israel, but only if it leads to a ‘complete end to the war.’ That’s what the terrorist-classified organization’s spokesperson Taher al-Nunu said according to AP.

Donald Trump signed on Truth Social during the night that Israel had accepted a mediation offer for a 60-day ceasefire, and urged Hamas to do the same.

Representatives of Hamas are expected to meet with mediators from Egypt and Qatar in Cairo on Wednesday.”

          1. Of course not.

HAMAS is probably working on indoctrination and recruitment and considering what the ordinary Palestinian population is exposed to, there will be a certain percentage who become hateful and want to seek revenge on Israel (and forget that it was HAMAS who started it in the first place). Just as there are Palestinians who hate HAMAS for what they initiated.

You have extremists on the other side as well who would prefer to see the entire Palestine eradicated even if the ordinary population is not guilty (other than passively allowing HAMAS to continue).

            Violence breeds violence breeds hatred.

That is probably one of the reasons why Ukraine refrains from bombing civilian Russians.
It would only lead to increased resistance, ordinary Russians perceive themselves as innocent and would not see it as “their own fault”. They would rather just start hating Ukraine.

  15. Sweden
Great, soon one will start recognizing the Swedish summer weather again! 😂

“During the day, heat records are expected in several parts of Sweden, but afterwards rain is expected. SMHI has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms in parts of western and northern Götaland, as well as the southern parts of Örebro County.

In connection with the storm, torrential rain may occur, as reported by P4 Sjuhärad, which has led to recommendations to seal one’s basement or move water-sensitive objects.”

  16. Off-topic
Could their success possibly have to do with the fact that almost no one wants to buy a Tesla anymore?

“The fact that the major car manufacturers are heavily investing in electric cars is not news, but the success of Audi and Volkswagen during the first half of 2025 is remarkable.

Both companies show strong growth in the Swedish market, where electrified vehicles are driving the success. This bodes well for the continued transition to a more sustainable vehicle fleet in Sweden.”

  17. Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold back the advance of Russian occupiers, who are still trying to cross the administrative border between Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

The enemy has not succeeded in achieving this demonstrative goal, despite numerous “meat grinder” attacks by small infantry groups and sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

A few days ago, one of the enemy’s small reconnaissance groups managed to penetrate the boundaries of the village of Dachne, located in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The invaders managed to take a photo with the Russian tricolour, but this was their last activity: Ukrainian soldiers destroyed the occupiers.

In one of the subsequent assaults, two Russian servicemen were luckier: they survived and were captured by the Ukrainian Navy’s Marine Corps brigade, replenishing the exchange fund.

Therefore, Russian propaganda reports about the capture of a bridgehead in the Dnipropetrovsk region are not true. Dachne remains under the control of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

  18. Fun to see how Trump, as a catastrophically bad businessman but a very good bribe taker, manages to lose for the USA!
    ➜ Air defense
    IRIS-T SLM / SLS (Germany)
    Aster 30 / SAMP/T (France/Italy)
NASAMS (Norway/USA – although partly American missiles but with more suppliers)
David’s Sling / Iron Dome (Israel, but export policy is restrictive – must be negotiated)

    ➜ Artillery / rocket artillery
    PULS (Israel)
K239 Chunmoo (South Korea) – licensed production in Poland already underway
Euro-PULS (EU project based on PULS)
155mm Archer (Sweden) – precision shells can be purchased from several sources
    Caesar 155 mm (France)

    ➜ Precision shells
M982 Excalibur is indeed American but co-developed with BAE Systems – alternative:
    BONUS (Sweden/France, top attack)
    Vulcano (Italy/Germany, precision-guided)
Assegai (Rheinmetall, German series with smart projectiles)

    ➜ Air-to-air missiles
    Meteor (Europe) for combat
SPEAR, Brimstone, Storm Shadow (United Kingdom)
    Taurus (Germany/South Korea)
Spike NLOS (Israel) – also airborne

    ➜ More examples
Rafael SPIKE (ATGM, several European countries license production)
K2, K9, K239 Black Panther tanks (South Korea – Poland already building under license)
CV90 (Sweden) – modular, can be adapted for many needs (Probably to be built in Ukraine?)
    Leopard 2 (Germany)
    PATRIA 6×6 Armored Vehicles (Finland)

Yes, and we hope for a lot of JAS deals for example, and submarines from Sweden?

Collaboration agreements are being signed left and right without the USA 😉

    1. Senaste nytt!
Latvian government approves the transfer of 42 Latvian-made “Patria” 6×6 armored personnel carriers and their spare parts, as well as other weapons and ammunition to Ukraine.

  19. More than tired of Trump, except for his perfume – if you want to smell like a winner, buy it.

If you also have the shoes and the watch, you can’t fail.

Expensive – yes, but worth every penny 👍

  20. Are they starting to get a little nervous? 😀
“Peskov commented on the conversation between Presidents Zelenskyy&Aliyev: “Ukraine will now do everything possible to add fuel to the fire, to provoke the Azerbaijani side into emotional actions, to push for the continuation of such emotional responses…Russia has never threatened Azerbaijan.”” Link to post

  21. Off-Topic Musk
“Elon Musk has seen the equivalent of about 115 billion SEK go up in smoke in just one day, according to Bloomberg’s billionaire index. This is reported by TT.

Tesla’s owner is going through a tough period right now. In addition to an escalating conflict with Donald Trump, he is being pressured by a sharp drop in Tesla’s stock price, which has significantly reduced his private wealth.

Since the turn of the year, Musk’s fortune has decreased by approximately 780 billion SEK. Despite this, he is still the world’s richest person – by a good margin.”
    https://omni.se/teslas-ras-kostar-musk-over-hundra-miljarder/a/qPod0o

    1. Do we know the status of his shoulder?
It’s probably not his money he’s invested all of?
I think it has messed up more seriously than what we see?

  22. “Armenian parliament speaker urges ban on Russian TV broadcasting. “We must very seriously discuss the suspension of Russian television channel broadcast in the territory of Armenia,” Armenian Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan told reporters, according to Armenpress.”

    1. Why Trump is pandering to Putin, I damn well want to know.

He lashes out at Musk, the whole democratic party, Iran and China but Putin gets a free pass.

Hardly that a hotel tape or money is enough as leverage.

      1. Maybe it’s because of the amount of money? Hasn’t he made billions just from his coins?

Money seems to be quite important to Trump, otherwise he wouldn’t degrade himself by selling bibles, golden shoes, and perfume? Selling out a country is probably not a problem for him.

      2. I get to bring out what the old Republican hawk John Bolton thinks when asked: Trump projects personal relationships onto foreign policy. He is Putin’s buddy (according to himself). Maybe he is even in love, what do I know?

      3. Well, it’s probably strange. Love would probably explain some, one remembers how crazy one became when in love as a teenager. Now, Trump is not a teenager, but his thinking about consequences probably lies at a teenager’s level.

Trump has relationships with individuals, not with countries, and he has a fetish for strong white men, mob types who he himself gladly associates with violent capital. One could notice how excited he got on truth social when he was about to bomb Iran.

Probably Putin has certainly helped him before, with money, votes, propaganda, etc., services and counter-services.

Most decisions he makes that seem confusing from a Western perspective are completely logical from a Russian perspective, so he probably got the idea for these from Putin.

Now when you click on “Log in to reply” you will return to the comment you intended to reply to instead of ending up at the top of the page.

If it doesn’t work, you may need to reload the page a few times. or worst case scenario you may need to clear the cache but I don’t think that should be necessary. If you can’t get it to work at all, let us know!

    1. 🙁 Tested in incognito mode on the Chromebook, where it didn’t work. But on it, it doesn’t even work to log in in normal mode.

Will return when I have tested on other platforms.

      1. Typical that it’s not working for you, you who wished for that feature. 😟

So you still can’t log in normally on the Chromebook?
Any cookies, sessions, etc. should have expired by now.

  24. If we are to summarize – UA did everything Trump asked for, Putin broke just about everything.

No sanctions against RU and withdrawn support for UA.

I don’t think it can get any clearer than that, do you?

    1. There is a “buried dog” here. Difficult to see that the positions in this are only about Trump’s personality. Something fishy is going on.

    2. No, it’s quite obvious that Trump has no intention of lifting a finger for Ukraine.

Many of us understood this several years ago considering how he praised Putin and did everything he could to smear Zelenskyy, shouting about “USA first” and not giving any aid to Ukraine. He even managed to delay the funds for almost half a year through Mike, even though he wasn’t even president yet.

There was a faint hope that maybe it was just to rally MAGA and that he might change his mind, that he might get tough and angry with Putin and maybe do something.

Biden was cowardly and could have done more. The only good thing Trump did was delaying the already approved support.

That agreement that was supposed to be so good, just scams that led to nothing at all.
Zelenskyy had to crawl and butter up Trump, for what? Nothing.

  25. It’s an incredible betrayal. Trump already has the left against him. Now he also has large parts of the right against him. Stupid is an understatement. A fat goodbye boy from Queens who surfs around on the golf courses in the USA and thinks he’s something. He doesn’t know shit about the world outside the USA. Get rid of him.

  26. Has anyone seen DenGamle?

“A series of mysterious explosions have shaken the oil industry after five tankers were blown up by mines shortly after visiting Russian ports, writes the Financial Times. The latest to be affected was the Greek ship Vilamoura, which was carrying one million barrels, off the coast of Libya.”
    https://omni.se/a/B0aXaw

    1. I have wondered about the cessation of Ukraine’s attacks on infrastructure necessary for oil exports, such as refineries, shipping ports, etc. Have these ceased? Shown goodwill? Perhaps it’s time to stop? Maybe someone with better insight can elaborate a bit?

      1. They have probably attacked individual targets still but it’s far between. Maybe they have received information that they are better protected now, there have been some pictures circulating where they have netted in the fences.
Perhaps Ukraine suspects that they may not have as great a chance of success.
They may even be trying but getting shot down.

It has mostly been quite slow drones that have been seen so they are probably not that difficult to stop if they have placed close protection.

  27. Sweden – holiday weather

Johan, you don’t have a basement, do you?!? 😨

“SMHI has extended the yellow warning for thunderstorms, lightning, and torrential rain tonight, writes TV4 News.

The warning area now covers most of the southernmost part of Sweden south of Lake Vänern and Lake Hjälmaren, with the exception of the east and south coasts. It is valid between 22:00 and 03:00.”
    https://omni.se/smhi-varnar-for-aska-och-skyfall-i-vastsverige/a/1MabRM

  28. “Ukraine has not received official notifications of the suspension or revision of the schedules for the supply of previously agreed defense assistance, so we are proceeding from the actual data and verifying the details of each element in the supply,” the Ministry of Defense noted, adding that they requested a phone call with colleagues from the U.S. to further clarify the details.

    https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-defense/4010649-mod-turns-to-us-for-clarifications-on-defense-supplies.html

  29. “Today, there were reports from the ministers of defense and foreign affairs of Ukraine. In particular, on relations with the United States of America. Currently, at the working level, Ukraine and the United States are clarifying all the details regarding the supply of defense support, including air defense components. One way or another, we must ensure the protection of our people,” said President Volodymyr Zelensky.

  30. Kärnvapenparaply☂️?

Pentagon says it continues to provide Trump with options for Ukraine military aid

The US Department of Defense continues to provide President Donald Trump with “reliable” options for further military assistance to Ukraine that will lead to the end of the war.

“The Department of Defense continues to provide the President with robust options for continue military aid to Ukraine, consistent with his goal of bringing this tragic war to an end,” the US defense department said.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon added, they are “rigorously examining and adapting its approach to achieving this objective while also preserving U.S. forces’ readiness for Administration defense priorities.”

    https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-polytics/4010798-pentagon-says-it-continues-to-provide-trump-with-options-for-ukraine-military-aid.html

    1. There is no difference in what the department of defense comes up with, as Trump refuses to do anything that harms his relationship with Putin.

All empires come to an end at some point. The fall of the USA was probably already in progress, but with Putin’s proxy Trump’s help, it has probably accelerated. By attacking the media and universities, he ensures that the USA enters an intellectual Middle Ages, and by cutting back on healthcare that was already neglected, it will soon resemble a third-world country, with a clique of oligarchs owning everything, similar to Russia.

  31. Top spy: One of two Shahed CRPA antenna developers has died

One of the two Russian engineers responsible for developing CRPA antennas for Shahed-type drones has already been killed.

“What’s new? They are improving the CRPA antennas, switching to 16 channels. These antennas are now manufactured in Russia, but this CRPA antenna was developed here in Ukraine by an engineer. No one needed it in the early 2000s, so he went to Russia. Now one of them [the development engineers] has died tragically in some way, and one is still alive. Well, probably not for long,” said Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
