Meanwhile in Russia… “A truck carrying crabs exploded in the village of Volchanets in Primorsky Krai” 🦀🦀🦀 “The crab carcasses were said to have been scattered for tens of metres, and under the scorching sun, “a disgusting aroma had already formed.””
https://bsky.app/profile/prune602.bsky.social/post/3ltdwq77soc26
🙄Oops, could DG have mistaken the cargo for snails (shell 🐚)? Too much iron?
Was it The Old Man who reported the goal? Maybe he was tired of his assignment and took one or two extra iron.
DG can defend himself by saying that he reported crab grenades (eng: crabshells) that RU had come across.
😂

Turkey
“What is happening in Turkey right now is very dramatic and is receiving too little attention in the world. This is according to Turkey expert Paul Levin in an interview with SvD, after yet another number of mayors from the major opposition party CHP have been arrested. For several months, CHP’s presidential candidate, also the mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu, has been detained.
Levin says that in recent years, the country has become increasingly authoritarian, but there has always been an opposition that could challenge the power.”

Erdogan is given the right to freely strangle the opposition when the world’s eyes are turned in another direction, at the same time as Turkey is needed as a stable partner in the region.
Continued pressure in the northern parts, Lyman, Siversk, Pokrovsk, and Novopavlivka. Probably an error in the data from the general staff as the total number of battles in each sector exceeds the reported total.

“Trump: “I’m helping Ukraine. I’m helping them a lot”. He added that Zelensky is “hit very hard,” voiced disappointment with talks with Putin, and warned BRICS-aligned anti-American states of a 10% tariff. He also slammed Elon Musk, calling his political moves “nonsense” and a “recent disaster.””
This is what Anders Puck Nielsen talked about in his video yesterday. Trump claims that he wants to help Ukraine while not doing so, and he allows the ambiguity of whether it is himself or Hegseth who has made the decision to flourish. Other countries, such as Germany, the UK, France, take advantage of this uncertainty to wait and see before taking any action.
If Trump had stopped the deliveries and also said that the US is done with its Ukraine support, maybe Europe would have geared up – and that’s a risk Putin doesn’t want to take.
It’s not wrong to hedge your bets, no matter what Trump does or says.
During the night of July 6–7, Russia launched 101 Shahed-type and other strike drones, along with 4 S-300/400 missiles from the Kursk region. Ukrainian air defense neutralized 75 drones—58 shot down and 17 jammed.”
https://bsky.app/profile/noelreports.com/post/3lte6lvmhts2s
If the cost estimates are correct, it’s a perfect way to drain the Russian economy. There’s no need to even hit any targets with the drones, just their presence is enough to shut things down.
“Collapse at 🇷🇺Russian airports due to threat of UAV attacks on July 5-6 could cost airlines up to 20 billion rubles, — Russian media. According to Rosaviatsia, 287 flights were canceled at Sheremetyevo, Pulkovo and Strigino (Nizhny Novgorod) airports, and another 106 were delayed.”
https://bsky.app/profile/militarynewsua.bsky.social/post/3lte7plak7k2d
Yes, with Russia’s vast domestic distances, trains and flights become essential. Thus, disrupting train traffic should be possible in the same way, since a delay often causes a cascade effect. How large are the devices used for 3D projection in the sky? It would be quite a prank to project drones that suddenly disappear and cannot be shot down, but still force air traffic control to cancel flights.
🎥💥👍
Of course, if the US leadership doesn’t get their act together in time, maybe it’s Hollywood’s special effects guys you should turn to.
Perfect idea! 😂
That was a fun idea to say the least.
Dobrev, who follows the Russian economy, also writes about the losses for the Russian airlines.

Today it’s quite “Swedish” where we are in Portugal, a bit chilly and heavy clouds. The weather forecast says it should be 26 degrees and sunny but it doesn’t seem like that will be the case.
Yesterday it was too windy so I don’t think many chose the beach even though it was sunny and +25 degrees.
Does this have any news value?
Considering that the whole media has reported on the heatwave and prominent debaters have traveled here to feel the scorching oven-like heat against their own skin, and the newspapers have tried to win in the worst doomsday scenario, I think it’s worth describing how the weather is in Portugal where we are since that is a primary task.
We are in Bayonne in southern France. It has been well above 30 degrees since we arrived last Wednesday. Pleasant temperatures.
The normal might not usually get much attention in the news, but when people die in the heat, it’s not so strange if it’s written about, right?
Right now, it’s mainly Greece that is experiencing it a bit more extremely, with temperatures reaching 40 degrees in some places.
Absolut, not at all strange that there was writing about the heatwave the other week. Glad we avoided it, it changed here the same day we arrived.
What luck!
Yes, indeed!
Nice!

Train stations, hospitals, schools, and now farmers.
Behind every civilian death, there is at least one Russian making the decision and one Russian carrying out the act. Do they call home in the evening to their wives and children and tell them how many other children they have killed?
The risk is that they call home and get cheers unfortunately.
It is no longer possible to separate civil and military research – therefore, the EU must reconsider its innovation policy.
This is written by the CEO of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, Sylvia Schwaag Serger, in DN Debate.
The war in Ukraine fundamentally changed the playing field, yet research with so-called “dual-use” potential, i.e. technology used both civilly and in defense systems, is still being excluded.
She now urges the EU to formulate a new strategy that “protects both scientific openness and global security.”
https://omni.se/a/yEoerR
Certainly not aware of such a prohibition, but it is not surprising since the naive have taken up a lot of space.
While some of us have built up society, others have spent all their time making it naively unsafe.
It is also a bit problematic if researchers who are measured on published results are to research secret military technology. From that perspective, it would be better with military research centers that do not need to publish results – only receive orders/project funding from European defense industry.
Naive sounds almost too kind. But I refrain from trying to find something more suitable.
Lavröv snarls with the same lies again.

One thing he is right about, and that is that “The root cause must be eliminated”, that is, Russia must go. It is the root cause of most of the crap that has happened here since WW2.
Terrror-designated Hamas has lost 80 percent of its control over the Gaza Strip. This according to information from a former high-ranking person within the armed Palestinian group whom the BBC has been in contact with. The majority of the leadership, around 95 percent, are now dead… The active leaders have all been killed, he says to the BBC in a voice message. In the power vacuum, it is reported that six armed groups representing different clans have stepped in. One of them is led by Yasser Abu Shabab, who controls the group from the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
Interesting if any other group can stabilize the situation in Gaza.
Of course, there is a risk that there will be a civil war in Gaza.
Russian Minister of Transport Roman Starovoyt has shot himself, sources tell the Russian state-controlled daily newspaper Izvestiya. Reuters reports. Earlier today, Starovoyt was fired by Putin, according to several media outlets. The circumstances are unclear. However, the Russian railway is in deep crisis, which is seen as a sign that the Russian economy is doing poorly.
How many shots did he fire?
Probably eight shots, in the back, … the Russians don’t mess around when they commit suicide.
I was about to write seven until I saw your answer, you have better information.
⚡️ Ryska transportministern avskedad av Putin skjuter sig själv till döds.

Can we hope that there is more behind than just some train delays? Some internal conflicts?
The list of “mysterious” deaths in Russia is getting longer and longer, yet surprisingly few in 2025.

Isn’t it normal for them to suddenly open a window and throw themselves out?
Now the meeting had to be interrupted while they cleaned up the body.
He probably didn’t have time to open the window. 😂
What has the poor thing done wrong?
Don’t know, he has done as they do at SJ 🙃
A few delays surely haven’t killed anyone ?
Interview with our Chief of Defense in DN. He has been reading here on the blog and understood. A couple of quotes:

A munitions factory in the Moscow region has been hit
As part of efforts to reduce the enemy’s capabilities to produce explosives and ammunition, on the night of 7 July, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, in cooperation with other components of the Defence Forces, carried out a fire strike on the Krasnozavodsky Chemical Plant in the Moscow region of the Russian Federation.
The plant manufactures pyrotechnic devices and ammunition, including thermobaric warheads for Shahed-type UAVs.
A series of explosions was recorded in the Krasnozavodsk area, and fire engines were seen moving in neighbouring settlements.
The results of the fire strike are being clarified.
The defence forces continue to take measures to undermine the offensive potential of the Russian occupiers and force the Russian Federation to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine.

Excellent books! I read the NATO agent and others at the same time as I plowed through The Hidden Alliance by Mikael Holmström. Also, some autobiographies by former Security Service chief Olof Frånstedt go well together with Jallais’ early works.
