Organized crime in Sweden April 26, 2025

Now there have been a couple of reports in a row here, first that 89% of users who have assistance companies come into contact with individuals with connections to serious/organized crime, and that is a bit too much to be swept under the rug – so the government appointed a 20-month investigation to immediately solve the problem.

This has been known for at least 10 years, but perhaps it has gotten a little worse since 2015?

https://polisen.se/aktuellt/nyheter/nationell/2025/april/organiserad-brottslighet-plundrar-assistansersattningen

And the other was from the investigative journalism program “Uppdrag granskning” that professional criminals are starting to control schools.

https://www.regeringen.se/pressmeddelanden/2025/04/kriminaliteten-sprider-sig-i-skolan–regeringen-kallar-till-sig-tre-myndigheter/#:~:text=I%20ett%20reportage%20av%20Uppdrag,sig%20Skolverket%2C%20Skolinspektionen%20och%20Polismyndigheten.

Therefore, I started googling the latest years’ reports on the subject, and it was not a pleasant read at all. I follow our daily newspapers, and if anything, it’s in capital letters that the government is too harsh and racist, which is the problem – not the crime, which I now understand is absolutely rampant.

For a few years, I have occasionally argued in my texts that criminal gangs and criminal clans are a threat to civil society and often face a lot of criticism, so there is a long time between the texts because I can’t handle all the criticism, which naturally includes being labeled a racist at the very least, and everything one writes is misinterpreted.

The reason is that those who want to criticize refuse to acknowledge that the majority society is the tax-paying class regardless of ethnicity, and that the perpetrators are criminals regardless of ethnicity – even though that group now consists of 80% with a foreign background. But that doesn’t make it racism, and my stance is always very clear to avoid misunderstandings. The state and the police have taken over the monopoly on violence, are the law, and should protect those who pay for everything – the tax-paying majority society (unfortunately, one needs to specify “regardless of ethnicity” every time).

Of course, we should also protect everyone else, but the group that pays for the police, politicians, and the judiciary can rightfully demand that at the very least the job description is followed.

I live in a small town with a few thousand law-abiding, tax-paying residents of various ethnicities; my son’s class before we moved to the Caribbean surely had 6-7 different nationalities out of 20 children or something like that.

A few years ago, organized crime made a big move in the town when they bought a larger property from the Enforcement Authority. Since I wanted to look at it myself, I know exactly how it went – four viewings were canceled, and there was always a group of us waiting outside and had to go home, someone owned a pizzeria, some Poles who were in Sweden, someone from the neighboring town, a few others, and then us.

Then it went quiet, and later I read in some Facebook group that the property had been sold for half the starting price to a gang of criminals.

Early in the process, I had asked if one could submit any bid, and the Enforcement Authority had said that they did not accept bids below the starting price – those were the rules, so it wasn’t sold then.

Since the starting price was about half the market price, the criminal clan got the property for 25% of its value. There were no other buyers because we had never seen the property and had never been informed about when the auction would take place, only about all the canceled viewings.

Serious crime surged in the town; the main perpetrator is now in prison, and some relative without a criminal record has taken over.

The problem with criminal clans is that there is a large group of unpunished individuals loyal to the clan to draw from, so they can disguise themselves as chameleons in civil society – which this family did, and according to the police and the judicial system, everything is in order. But for us residents in the town, we now have a criminal clan constantly advancing their positions.

So what does the criminal clan do?

Since they displayed significant violence capital directly, they don’t need to commit crimes to get what they want, right? The residents in the community are worried.

The property has no activity at all, but of course, the presumed company linked to the property generates significant amounts – a classic money laundering scheme, but the Tax Agency is happy as long as they receive the taxes.

Voilà – a criminal clan has established itself and will not be hindered by the police or the judiciary and can continue to launder their crime proceeds.

Today, civil society is completely infiltrated by criminal clans; the gangs have the violence capital (which the clans also have) and have ventured into running errands for other countries for money in Sweden – which perhaps is a side note for today’s discussion for once.

When we have wealthy criminals with significant violence capital, it is almost impossible for civil society to resist – or it is not possible because there are always some who give in, and that’s enough for everything to start rotting from within.

Just look at the Enforcement Authority in my example above – it is undeniable that everything did not go right, but when I tried to rewind the tape, I got a flat-out no from them. So when we offered to buy the property instead at the same price or agree to a new auction, it was declined.

A few years ago, there was a heated debate about crown witnesses as citizens had completely stopped testifying in gang and clan trials. Now in 2025, it seems to have finally been introduced.

Why is that?

Well – the accused gang went and paid to obtain the preliminary investigation, then they found out the witness’s address, went there directly, and bribed, threatened, or murdered them.

Hallonbergen was a clear message – a couple who were tortured and murdered in the worst way days before they were to testify. The number of witnesses in gang trials dropped to zero, and after the police and the judicial system initially tried to blame cowardly citizens, they have now solved the problem after far too many years.

In the towns where the criminal clans reside, municipal employees remain completely silent and bow deeply whenever anything related to them comes up. There has been talk of a culture of silence for many years, but nothing is done. Occasionally, we hear about some municipal chief, unit manager, or department head who is supposed to address the problem, but it always goes quiet. If one were to delve deeper into it, they have surely found a new job.

And the Bar Association is now infiltrated with gang lawyers, whom they tried to defend as victims of racism until it was no longer possible.

The gangs have been successful in setting up honey traps to infiltrate the correctional system, where they have initiated relationships with female correctional officers on a large scale.

When Encrochat was cracked, it revealed that every criminal clan and organized gang with a bit of professional pride had their own bank employee laundering their money – they are called facilitators, and today they are everywhere in civil society.

I saw that the Center Party had a good opinion on the matter, but it got drowned out by Federley being forgiven and back in the party.

https://www.centerpartiet.se/download/18.36093932194fd215fa13077/1741806839437/Maffians%20pengakran%20m%C3%A5ste%20vridas%20%C3%A5t%20-%20Ny%20trygghetspolitik%202025.pdf

Municipal officials have been involved in various ways, and there are different setups to empty our tax accounts.

The money rolling is absolutely extreme – taxes don’t need to be raised, if we sort this out we have all the cash we need.

In some cases, criminal clans have managed to take over entire municipalities, such as Södertälje and Botkyrka, where they were allowed to operate for two years. They bully municipal employees out and then hire the clan’s own people so that the municipality becomes their private bank account and the sky is the limit for building permits.

If you drive past the new Duvbo area, which is a tastefully newly built area, you will see a row of Roman patrician villas right at the entrance to the area – since I had serious battles regarding building permits for the house in Bromma before we moved, I know how impossible it is, and these individuals broke all kinds of practices. Someone has simply been generous with the building permits 😀

In national politics, they have managed to become members of parliament in virtually all political parties.

I would argue that the problem is much larger than we are led to believe, but we have started to reach a point where we are ready to speak plainly about it with this government.

The criminal clans have several trump cards – the diversity card where they are prioritized over an ethnic Swedish applicant for many municipal and state jobs, the violence capital where the other applicant is persuaded to withdraw, and the money so they can bribe their way in.

Several authorities have had campaigns for diversity such as the Migration Agency and the Employment Service, both of which are functioning terribly today. Instead of promoting diversity and teaching Swedish bureaucracy and work ethics, they absolutely fueled corruption and no one could handle it.

If I may guess, I believe that Swedish state and municipal operations were not prepared for how corruption actually works – they were completely caught off guard. Then some loyal managers probably tried, but they were met with retaliation from the criminal clan and had to give up.

For years, I have seen how Swedish embassies in Africa sell visas to Schengen/Sweden to local employees, and when I tried to raise the issue with Swedish employees twice, they did everything to silence me – in the end, my conclusion was that they were involved in it as well. Finally, they threatened to never grant visas to me or my family 😀

So, I eventually brought it up with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, which then sided with the embassy and downplayed everything, and I spun around for a while until I got tired.

In many cases, the criminal clans have targeted municipal and state operations such as the municipalities’ social accounts, where they place their people in the organization and then it’s game on. The clan’s companies win framework agreements, their families receive maximum benefits, they get building permits for anything, permits for everything, and so on.

Jump up three sentences and you’ll understand that these criminal clans have advantages over regular applicants for positions, and therefore they will be able to climb the ladder faster than others, so the problem is increasing, and they are climbing higher in the hierarchy.

As soon as they hold a managerial position, they can start rearranging the organization beneath them and bring in loyal clan employees. Regular employees do what they can and resign in frustration – now the clan will get what they want because they can’t handle the job themselves. The clan doesn’t care about that, they won’t do the job, they just want power to benefit themselves.

The Social Insurance Agency really addressed this issue some ten years ago – they introduced a policy to report to the police, but the insane payouts have continued unabated, as clearly seen when reading the above article 😀

If the investigations were not dropped, the penalties were ridiculously low, and not a penny was recovered.

Today, society is quite helpless, and with low penalties, the professional criminals continue their careers in the profession they have chosen. We are talking about individuals who manage to embezzle tens of millions, which are then taxed and completely legitimate – how does that feel for the rest of us who pay for the party but can barely make ends meet on our salaries?

The current government makes many mistakes, but when it comes to the criminal clans and gangs, they have tried – they confiscate property, take children, and make Al Capone-style arrests where they prosecute for a minor offense and impose maximum penalties just to at least get rid of them.

Because surely a professional criminal is not suitable as a parent according to Swedish law, and the children should be taken into custody?

Some in the opposition do not want it this way and think the Tidö Agreement is too harsh and racist – and the government has barely begun to crack down on the gangs and clans, barely out of the starting blocks.

I am of the opinion that considering how corruption is rampant, and when it comes to the assistance companies, it has been known for at least ten years, and how helpless we are in the face of the problem – this is starting to become a question of civil society’s security now.

Groups with significant violence capital and the ability to bribe large amounts (and we actually have a new professional group now – bribery coordinators) have been found all the way up in national politics, and then they have the opportunity to start influencing our members of parliament and the government.

We have 290 municipalities, and criminal gangs have now spread to all smaller towns in Sweden, and Norway, and when criminal clans take over a municipality, there is zero transparency.

And if you start questioning, they play the race card, which gives them a few more years.

62,000 people have connections to gang criminality in Sweden.

https://www.dagenssamhalle.se/samhalle-och-valfard/socialtjanst/kartlaggning-62-000-kopplas-till-gangkriminalitet

And the criminal clans are an absolute mess – good luck cleaning that up.

https://actapublica.se/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/ap_rapport_slaktnatverk.pdf

We are starting to suffer from target saturation in Sweden, and the problem is becoming too big for the control functions at the top to handle.

When the majority society’s citizens no longer receive protection or have contact with the legal system, they will choose the easy way and take the bribes instead – this is an extremely significant problem. We have 40 criminal clans and 200 gangs in Sweden that are everywhere in the country, even in towns where the nearest police station is 20 miles away.

A prison sentence is seen as a badge of honor by the gangs, and murders are committed by children who are too young to be prosecuted.

The gangs and clans now have such good finances that they can support members who are imprisoned, so it becomes an attractive career instead of a life of poverty and exclusion.

We always talk about the majority society fighting back, but there is another side to that coin as well – the gangs and clans take over instead, as in Mexico or various areas in Italy.

There are certain vulnerable areas where progressive Swedish administrative middle class wanted to move in and improve the reputation, without knowing that they were controlled by gangs, and there the cheerful families with children received a harsh reality check.

In Skarpnäck, things went well but in Östberga and Barkarby shopping center (for a while), they were not long-lasting. If their children managed to get into a fight with a child from the clan, the progressive middle-class family had to learn the hard way how clan-based justice worked, and the week after, the apartment was put up for sale and they temporarily moved in with their parents.

It was the progressive Swedish middle class who experienced living under the arbitrary violent law of a criminal gang. However, this is the daily reality for a vast number of our tax-paying citizens in the majority society of foreign origin – and they can’t move anywhere because they can’t afford it.

In Rinkeby and Tensta, the shopkeepers have finally given up as the legal system could not protect them.

There are reports suggesting that 90% of small immigrant-owned businesses pay criminals or let criminals funnel money through them after threats – that’s right 😶

This has been evolving since the 90s – for about thirty years. It was during the major police reorganization when they were supposed to reflect society at large instead of being able to handle the most violent elements of society, and “dialogue police” became an established term instead of “punishing the troublemakers.” But this has really escalated quickly – the situation has completely gotten out of hand.

There has been a shift in attitude from our elected officials, but to be honest, I believe the current government needs at least one more term to regain some control over this, and unfortunately, I am not hopeful about the opposition unless the Social Democrats (S) obtain a majority.

The day when four guys with the highest capacity for violence knock on your door, then you will truly understand how vulnerable you are, and until then, you can continue to downplay the problem – because that is the reality for families like yours and mine in vulnerable areas, below is the police’s own definition of the situation.

“Especially vulnerable areas”: Here, it is “difficult or almost impossible” for the police to fulfill their mission. Systematic threats and acts of violence against witnesses and victims in the area. Also, parallel societal structures, extremism, and a high concentration of criminals. The situation is considered acute.

So, the acute aspect in this context is that the residents in an area completely adhere to the arbitrary “justice” of the criminal clan or gang and receive no support from the legal system at all, even if they call for help.

Do you remember in Gothenburg when two clans started to fight and both closed off their areas with masked “soldiers” armed with automatic weapons checking ID cards of everyone who wanted to enter or leave?

The police were on film negotiating with the guards a few meters away and announced that they were in talks with them – I don’t think I’ve ever had such high blood pressure.

In the 90s, the riot police had beaten them unrecognizable after a few hours.

https://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/a/Ad49r3/vagsparrar-gav-plotslig-radsla-i-angered

This was in 2020, but then the Swedish rule of law lost to criminal clans who controlled the lives of over 50,000 Swedish citizens for two weeks.

Did you know that 700,000 Swedish citizens today live under a parallel legal system managed arbitrarily by gang criminals and criminal clans, where the police have given up and look the other way when called for help by tax-paying citizens in the majority society?

https://www.sverigesradio.se/artikel/over-700-000-bor-i-utsatta-omraden-i-sverige#:~:text=Ig%C3%A5r%20fick%20regeringen%20en%20ny,g%C3%A5r%20d%C3%A5ligt%20f%C3%B6r%20i%20skolan.

When does this problem become so significant that one is no longer called a racist for wanting to address it?

You know what I think – those who constantly hinder the fight against the gangs and criminal clans are the real racists because most of those 700,000 citizens are probably predominantly individuals of foreign background suffering so that “Swedes” on their morally higher ground do not risk being called racists.

Did you know, by the way, that there have been 33 explosions just in 2025, and in 2024, we had a total of 337 detonations?

https://www.sverigesradio.se/artikel/tidslinje-sprangningar-och-detonationer-januari-2025#:~:text=Under%202025%20har%20det%20skett,n%C3%A4r%20och%20var%20de%20skedde.

Anyone daring to guess the outcome of an explosion?

I guess that eventually a police officer, municipal official, lawyer, business owner, or someone else will give in and comply with the demands of the criminal clan, whatever they may be.

Then there are all those who give up at the mere threat of an explosion because they’ve read the news, so the problem is obviously much bigger than 33 incidents.

It is an absolute threat to national security if by nation we mean a functioning legal system that can uphold law and order because that is not the case today, not only for 700,000 citizens but also for all those facing threats who cannot receive protection and eventually give up when their apartment has been blown up.

And it is an absolute disgrace to consider it xenophobic to want to sort out this mess.

And the fact that 700,000 Swedish citizens live under clan rule is completely incomprehensible to me, in Sweden 😶

How could this have happened despite all the warnings over the years? At some point after 2010, warnings about serious crime began, and around 2015, vulnerable areas were on the police’s agenda.

The reports always reach a broad audience, but then politicians bury everything in their favorite pastime – INVESTIGATIONS, and the media compete to find the most neutral names possible for the problems. Today, it is called clan-based criminal network and especially vulnerable areas instead of “an entire suburb under the arbitrary law of a criminal and very violent family that beats and kills.”

Since the clans have managed to infiltrate as employees within the police force, and the police chief in Sollentuna resigned after threats, by definition, the last line of defense against these groups is under quite severe attack, I guess – if the police fall, what do we do then?

https://www.mitti.se/nyheter/polischefen-slutade-efter-mordhot-fran-kriminellt-gang-6.3.240887.e69a75b34c

Well, not much because then the gang criminals and clans will also have police uniforms when they become our new judiciary in the area we live in 😀

And they have started to buy their way into the better residential areas in Stockholm now thanks to their criminal contacts in the banks – it costs a million to get a mortgage approved on false grounds.

Anyway, read the article, and it was indeed a police chief who chose life 😶

And here are the police officers complaining about the criminals who threaten and harass them.

https://www.svt.se/nyheter/lokalt/helsingborg/mer-an-var-tionde-polis-i-syd-upplever-hot-mot-familjen

Or this, explosions linked to police officers’ addresses or cars

https://www.sverigesradio.se/artikel/7603508

I wonder how many police officers take the bribes and stay silent?

I wonder how difficult it is to recruit for the police so that the criminal clans start getting their candidates into the organization when there is a shortage of applicants for various positions?

Wondering how the rest of the judicial system looks with the “facilitators” and all others who have their stairwells blown up – for the police and the judicial system must be prioritized targets for the gangs and clans to try to pacify.

Look at that, when you write this and then google it, half of gang criminals are acquitted in trials where other types of murderers are convicted in 82% of cases 🧐

https://omni.se/halften-av-de-atalade-for-gangskjutningar-frias/a/Eadrvo

And here is a sensible article in GP

  1. No problem hiring criminal gangs to resolve financial disputes?

“SD politician Erik Vessby in Vänersborg sought help from Hells Angels when a former business colleague tried to collect an alleged debt with the help of a criminal suburban gang. Three men from Hells Angels then held a meeting on Vessby’s behalf but were beaten up, leading to a significant escalation in the gang conflict. This was reported by Expressen.

“I don’t really see anything strange about this,” says Vessby, who is the SD representative in the democracy and equality committee, the children and youth committee, and the building committee.”

  3. Interesting about Pegase, where France is practicing its ability to quickly move strategic resources including nuclear weapons over long distances. Previously, Pegase has been intended primarily for operations in Asia. What’s new is that France has now shifted its focus from Asia to Europe, mainly the northern part.

  4. Well written Johan about the clan-based criminal networks. The best thing I’ve read in a long time. Unfortunately, the Tidö government is dragging its feet. Measures are probably in the pipeline but they will not be implemented now in 2024 or 2025 but will be postponed. I think they want to campaign on criminal justice policy. Otherwise, they will be empty-handed. What do the Moderates want? Does anyone know?

    1. Westley Richard

Politicians do not want to solve the problems where they have high confidence, they drag their feet and make small adjustments to be able to campaign on the issue even in the next election.
If the problem had been solved, what would they campaign on then?

  5. Good start there with organized crime, big no no if you present facts in the wrong place.

In my youth, the criminals in my residential area were more annoying and directionless, they climbed onto the school roof, smoked cigarettes, and drank beer, shouted at us kids playing basketball or soccer to give them the ball… which we did but of course got it back after a while.
Their names were Pelle and Kenta, maybe someone named Jarmo with family.

On the weekend, there was Hasse in the center who was drunk and loud as usual, if you didn’t mess with him, there was no trouble, those who picked fights ended up in brawls and it was over when one of them walked away or lay down.

1 on 1 and no cowardly hyena behavior like today with gangs against individuals.

I remember a visit to a construction site when they were renovating some social office or similar… they had an escape route behind the desk, a door that opened when the alarm button was pressed and visitors had to jump over the desk to be able to attack, which took a few extra seconds if they weren’t agile… which they rarely were, and the caseworker managed to escape from the room.

  6. Thank you for the post! It doesn’t feel like anything new, the things you bring up in and of themselves, but the things seen together in your post paint a picture of a problem that is pervasive, comprehensive, and already deeply rooted.

    1. I skipped the Pope’s funeral when I found out that I ended up in row four, behind Trump, but the crowd at St. Peter’s Square was no joke, and the mobile network was completely overloaded.

Apologies for the late loss report! 😄

      1. It’s such low numbers that I don’t think it’s possible to draw any direct conclusions from it regarding the activity at the front.
It could be, as you suggest, that they managed to find some further back that they managed to knock out.

  7. “In 2024, the net loss of Russian coal companies amounted to 112.6 billion rubles compared to a profit of 374.7 billion rubles the previous year.

In 2025, coal prices continued to fall, which means that the problems for Russians will increase.”

  8. Sad if it’s true.

“Russia: The last Ukrainian soldier has left Kursk

Russia has now regained the Kursk region and all Ukrainian soldiers have been forced out of the region, according to the Kremlin. – Ukraine’s adventure has failed completely, says Vladimir Putin, according to Reuters.”
    https://omni.se/a/jQjnQ9

      1. “Soldiers from the 6th Ranger Regiment within Ukraine’s armed forces special operations forces carried out special operations against North Korea’s regular troops in the Kursk region in Russia. During a quick contact, the Special Forces operators eliminated 25 North Koreans. These events took place near the Russian state border in the Sumy region. Currently, the enemy is actively amassing personnel for advancement in the Kursk region. The Russian army has nearly completely destroyed settlements near the state border with the help of its air force.”

    1. Westley Richard

Putin must show the Russian people that he has recaptured Kursk before he can agree to any ceasefire.

Take it as something for the Russian audience.

  13. Short of liquid funds to buy a black suit… OR? He was the only one NOT dressing in black. Even his wife understood the dress code at a funeral. Okay then we know why he tried to bully Zelenskiy for his choice of clothes. Bullying stems from the bully’s desires and shortcomings. Based on that and other information, we can therefore with fairly great certainty guess that he only has one blue suit in his wardrobe that he alternates with a blue and a red tie, but he would secretly like to acquire other clothes.

The question that arises then is what is he doing with all the money he has recently bluffed his way to?

  14. Johan!

It’s good that you’re writing about this. When it comes to how we should deal with the problem here and now, ethnicity is irrelevant. Lady Justice is and should be blind. However, we must learn lessons for the future from how things are now.

In the mentioned report “Signs of abuse of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency’s benefits by organized crime…,” it describes how organized crime looks in several aspects.

    https://www.forsakringskassan.se/download/18.4facd080196508608b0c/1745303225224/tecken-pa-missbruk-av-forsakringskassans-formaner-hos-den-organiserade-brottsligheten-delanalys-1.pdf

They divide the active members of organized crime into individuals with strategic roles and performers in higher and lower layers, as well as enablers. Among those with strategic roles, 80 percent have a foreign background. Among performers, 70+ percent have a foreign background. Among enablers, it’s approximately 50 percent with a foreign background. By foreign background, they mean foreign-born or domestically born with two foreign-born parents.

In a report from 2018 where a similar study was conducted, they have a slightly different classification. In organized crime, there is a subgroup referred to as mafia. It is described as follows: “Groups that possess the ability for institutionalized crime (the ability to influence political, cultural, and economic structures in society) such as the Södertälje network and other similar groups have been categorized as mafia.”

In this report, it is stated that the mafia actually constitutes a small part of organized crime (then), but it is still worth noting that individuals domestically born with two domestically born parents make up 6 percent. Individuals with one parent of each background make up three percent. Just over 90 percent have a foreign background.

    https://www.iffs.se/media/22498/brott_2018_4.pdf

Crime organizations of a clan-like nature similar to the mafia are extremely harmful to society as they do their best to infiltrate the institutions of society. They are very difficult to deal with. As mentioned, Lady Justice should be blind (to ethnicity). But from a future perspective, figures like these must be allowed to influence how we view the need for a border with the outside world.

  15. “Looks like the anti-drone accessory didn’t help the Russians with their assault. Ukrainian forces destroyed this engineering gimmick faster than it could spread online. Donetsk front.”

  16. Thank you Johan, very well-written summary of the issues.
When reading it, one gets really angry that it has been allowed to go this far 😒

  17. I never had the energy to comment on the crime yesterday, now it’s probably old news but I’ll make a remark anyway.

You don’t propose any solution to the crime but mainly point out how bad the situation is and that something must be done. Then you complain that the race card is always played by the other side. This means that even though you don’t present a solution, one can assume that your solution is exactly the same as those who loudly complain about crime always advocate for. If we stop all immigration and preferably also deport all immigrants who are already here, the problem will be solved.

People opt for the simplest solution and believe it will work when it is much more complicated than that (compare it to the wonder weapon in war even though there is no such thing).

(The same group dreams that if we have more children, we will manage the economy without immigrants, but it’s just a dream unless one plans to transform Sweden into an authoritarian state where we force people to have children, of course.)

The ability to organize and infiltrate society with increasingly sophisticated methods while using violence is something criminals have been developing for a long time. The mafia in Italy and later in the USA are earlier examples. It is not strange that even criminals develop their methods. “Swedish” criminals have hardly any problems doing the same. For a while, it was the motorcycle gangs that “led” the way, later Baltic groups, and now we have many other groups, but regardless of whether we had immigrants or not, crime would have flourished.

The solution lies in giving police, customs, and other authorities significantly more resources and opportunities to combat crime. It is obvious to deport immigrants who commit crimes, but if one believes that stopping immigration will help, it is making it too easy for oneself.

When the loudest voices choose to essentially only talk about stopping immigration, one wonders if they really want to address crime. It’s not surprising that some play the “race card.” (A bit interesting that you use the reverse “race card” to attack those you think are wrong.)

Crime must be curbed, we have been naive, but it is just as naive to think that the solution lies in getting rid of all immigrants. If one takes the issue seriously, one cannot fixate on that, as it is not a sustainable solution.

  18. They are unfortunately not stupid.

“Assistance companies that have been stopped by the Inspection for Health and Care, Ivo, can continue to operate similar activities through a loophole in the law, according to a review by Arbetet.

Instead of continuing as an assistance company, which requires a permit, a so-called service company is created that offers users help to become their own providers, that is, to become their own employers for their assistants instead of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency being the employer.”

  19. “Three members of the criminal MC club Bandidos from Finland and Norway are considered to pose a threat to national security and are therefore banned from Sweden for eight years, reports Expressen.”

  20. “One person is dead and another person is injured following the serious crimes in Västerås, according to information provided to TV4 News. According to the channel’s information, the police are pursuing a man related to the victims, and the national tactical unit is said to be involved in the search operation.”

  21. “There is no small town that is safe from gang conflicts. That’s what police chief Michael Mattsson tells Dagens Nyheter.

Criminal networks recruit young people through apps. This means that areas that were previously spared from gang conflicts are now at risk of being drawn in. Something that has really been noticed in the police districts of Blekinge and northeastern Skåne.”

  22. “The leader of the T-falang has been arrested in Canada, writes GP.

A 29-year-old man is identified as the mastermind behind the group in Gothenburg that has been involved in bombings and shootings. He himself has been evading authorities abroad, but now he is detained in Canada, writes Gothenburg Post and refers to CBC News.”

  23. The police in Örebro are establishing a security zone in parts of the districts Varberga and Oxhagen during Wednesday evening, the authority states on its website.

“The reason for the now decided security zone is to prevent possible serious violent crimes related to conflicts associated with criminal groups, known to the police from before.”

The police will hold a press conference at 3:00 p.m. regarding the decision.

  24. SD is eager to try to make it sound like stopping immigration is the obvious solution to also tackle gang crime.

One can almost begin to suspect that it actually depends on their own domestic favorite gangs (which are actually imported as well once upon a time) starting to lose ground? Many within SD don’t seem to have a problem with criminal gangs per se?

“SD politician Berry Hasselqvist wore a Hells Angels loyalty badge on his chest, as shown in pictures that Expressen has access to. Now he is resigning from all his assignments in the Municipality of Mölndal.

According to the investigation, Berry Hasselqvist has a background as a long-time member of the motorcycle club Beer Brothers MC, which since 2012 is part of a circle close to Hells Angels.”

“Two more SD politicians at the local level have expressed appreciation for criminal motorcycle gangs. This is revealed by Expressen after two SD members in Vänersborg resigned yesterday.

Lennart Anderberg (SD), who sits in the municipal council in Örkelljunga and is a substitute in the municipal board, posed in 2018 with clothing for the motorcycle club Wishbone, which is a support group for Hells Angels. He also likes several pages on Facebook related to Hells Angels.”
    https://omni.se/sd-politiker-gillar-kriminella-mc-gang-pa-facebook/a/pP2zER

“SD politician Erik Vessby in Vänersborg sought help from Hells Angels when a former business colleague hired another criminal gang to try to collect an alleged debt. Three men from Hells Angels then had a meeting on Vessby’s behalf but were beaten down, which meant a significant escalation in the gang conflict. This is reported by Expressen.”

  25. SD politician Jimmy Forsell was a member of the Hells Angels supporter club Red & White Crew for five years. He stated this in an interrogation with the police in 2020 in a weapons crime investigation where he himself was not a suspect, reports Expressen.

In the interrogation, Forsell, who is now a member of the social services committee in Bollnäs municipality, stated that he has a family and therefore has new interests.

Forsell now claims that he has “never had any background” in the motorcycle gang, “but it was about support, not membership.” When Expressen asks follow-up questions about the police interrogation, he hangs up the phone.

  26. “A 20-year-old rapper with connections to the Dalen network is sentenced for ordering the murder of a rival rapper, associated with Foxtrot, reports TT.

The 20-year-old is sentenced together with another young man to four years and nine months in prison for assigning the task, among others, to a 15-year-old boy.

However, the boy did not succeed in carrying out the murder but will be under youth supervision for nine months for taking on the task.”

  27. More children are recruited into serious crime compared to last year, according to Charlotta Lundberg, crime prevention coordinator in the Stockholm Police Region. This is reported by SvD.

Isabelle Aslan, who is a group leader within the social intervention group in Fruängen in Stockholm, says that there has been a change in the gangs’ recruitment.

She now sees that it is not only young people from socioeconomically challenging circumstances who are recruited. The gangs are casting a wide net and trying to recruit from all possible sources.

  28. The police in Gothenburg are seeing a steady increase in the number of people moving in criminal circles in Hisingen. This is reported by Göteborgs-Posten.

Last year, there were 300 network criminals in the areas of Hisingen, according to the police’s assessment. This year, the corresponding figure is 450, according to an updated analysis. This is an increase of 50 percent.

  29. “A social counselor employed by the City of Gothenburg is fired after contacts with criminal gangs, writes Expressen. The man is said to have received large sums of money from individuals with connections to organized crime. In the administration’s own investigation, the man is described as a ‘facilitator,’ meaning a person who enables criminal organizations without having any influence himself.”

  30. The police fear a motorcycle war between Bandidos and the Wolfpack Brotherhood in Vänersborg, reports TV4 News. The criminal groups are said to have called in reinforcements from other cities and watchdogs. The police have also received information that the sides are arming themselves, according to the TV channel’s information. – The situation is of high interest and tense. There is a risk of violent crime, says a source.

  31. Five people are charged with laundering nearly 400 million SEK through 22 companies in the construction industry, reports SVT. According to the Economic Crime Authority, they have used fake invoices and cash handling to conceal the origin of the money.

“I would almost describe it as a money laundering factory,” says Sanna Nesser, senior prosecutor at the Economic Crime Authority.

One of the accused is suspected of handling car purchases worth over 60 million SEK, which were then exported for the purpose of laundering money. The prosecutor describes the operation as a threat to the system.

The suspects were arrested in September 2024. The trial begins on August 25.

  32. The armed 14-year-old boy who was arrested in Malmö on Wednesday evening is suspected to be a “contract killer”, according to information provided to Sydsvenskan.

He was arrested with a loaded weapon and is said to have been hired digitally to carry out a murder or another violent crime.

  33. “A man in his mid-20s has died and another person has been injured in a shooting outside the mosque in the Vivalla district of Örebro, the police reported on their website. The shooting, which occurred around 13:45, is not believed to be targeted at the mosque but is linked to gang-related crime.”

  34. “An identified 28-year-old gang leader has been extradited to Sweden from Chile, reports SVT News. He is believed to have served as a recruiter in a large chat group on Telegram and posted murder assignments to children in both Sweden and Denmark.

SVT has previously investigated the account “Samurai Z,” linked to the man, and found that the alias posted about 60 murder assignments.

    – It was a very significant forum that he administered, says Deputy National Police Chief Stefan Hector.”

  35. “Individuals with connections to the gang leader Ismail Abdo are running a pharmacy in Uppsala, as revealed by TV4’s Kalla Fakta. One of the individuals has previously been convicted of several crimes, including violent offenses.

    – This is incredibly serious, says Annika Babra, unit manager at the Medical Products Agency.

According to her, a person listed in the criminal record should not be able to obtain permission to run a pharmacy. Babra says that the scrutiny has previously been ‘sparse’ but has been tightened recently.

Since Ismail Abdo was arrested in Turkey earlier this year, the police have been investigating several companies that can be linked to him or his criminal network.

The couple running the pharmacy denies having any connections to criminal activities”

  36. “Organized crime is increasingly linked to crimes such as theft and fraud. This is shown in a new joint report from authorities, as reported by Ekot.

    – It is no longer sensible to make a distinction between organized crime, such as gun violence and similar, and everyday crime,” says Johan Olsson, head of the police’s National Operational Department.

According to the report, this development threatens free competition, democracy, and the physical security of citizens.”

  39. USA

Covid was serious, but still had relatively low mortality. Sooner or later, some other variant will emerge. Without vaccines, the USA is likely to struggle.

Really hope that we don’t fall behind here in Europe, but considering how persistently vaccine opponents continue to spread nonsense, of course, there is a risk.

“The head of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Susan Monarez, has been fired, according to the White House. This comes after a conflict with Health Minister Robert F. Kennedy, just a month after she was sworn in.

There was a falling out between Monarez, who is an infectious disease researcher, and Kennedy regarding his stance on vaccines, sources told the New York Times. Kennedy is a known vaccine opponent and reportedly tried to remove Monarez before the White House’s announcement, but she refused to leave.

Four other high-profile CDC officials also left the agency on Wednesday – apparently in protest against Kennedy’s vaccine policy. For example, one of the directors cited “the ongoing politicization of public health” as a reason for resigning in emails seen by The Hill.”

  41. “It was a 15-year-old boy who died in an explosion in Östberga in Stockholm on August 22, reports Mitt i. The new information comes from prosecutor Lukas Tigerstrand.

Previously, it has been reported that it was a man who died while attempting to carry out an explosion. The hypothesis is that the explosive charge was triggered prematurely.

    – We suspect that he has been recruited by a criminal network through a middle school and a sports team with young people, says Tigerstrand.”

  42. Organized crime comes in many different forms. Suspect that insider trading is much more common than one might think, difficult to prove, and rarely results in anyone being convicted. Perhaps that’s why this gang messed up because they didn’t believe they would be caught. I believe that the financial crime authority would need greater resources and powers to be able to trace many more similar cases.

“Nine people have been arrested on suspicion of serious insider trading, the Economic Crime Authority writes in a press release. The suspicions include extensive stock trading in two listed companies before takeover bids were announced in the autumn of 2024 and spring of 2025.

Björn Rygart, commissioner at the Economic Crime Authority’s financial market chamber, says they suspect that information about the takeovers leaked out.

    – The suspicions concern repeated criminal activity where a large number of suspects with mutual connections have repeatedly traded in a coordinated manner with large amounts.”

“Large profits are suspected to have been made in the insider scandal where nine people were arrested yesterday on suspicion of serious insider trading. That’s according to Jonas Myrdal, acting deputy chief prosecutor and lead investigator at the Economic Crime Authority, speaking to DI.

    – We’re talking about over 70 million Swedish kronor.

  46. So now the gangs are also controlling the pita bread industry, and engaging in arson attacks to get rid of competitors?

“According to information from Aftonbladet, about ten arson attacks against bakeries in the Stockholm region in recent years can be linked to organized crime and a war over the pita bread market.

    – We clearly see connections between the pita bread companies and organized crime in Södertälje, says a source to the newspaper.

Police are said to have several theories about why organized crime has entered the market. It provides significant income in areas where many people with foreign backgrounds have pita bread as a staple, good opportunities for money laundering, and lucrative supplier agreements with the public sector and grocery chains.

Bakery companies are suspected of using threats and violence to expand their operations, including against players from other parts of the country trying to sell bread in the Stockholm area.”

  47. It might well be gang-related as well, as they in turn probably have a contractor.

“Two young brothers are suspected of ordering an explosive in Gothenburg in May. Now the police suspect that they also tried to recruit murderers, reports Göteborgs-Posten. According to the prosecutor, they have acted on behalf of someone higher up in the gang hierarchy.

The siblings, who live in the same boys’ room at their parents’ home, are suspected in the preliminary investigation of trying to recruit even younger perpetrators in groups on Signal and Instagram. They are said to have enticed with large sums of money.

The brothers deny any involvement and claim in the interrogation that wiretapped conversations they had about, for example, a “jap” for 400,000 kronor were about something that takes place in a video game.

They are suspected of two cases of solicitation for murder, which were never carried out.”

In short, the Botkyrka affair involved Östlin closing several youth centers operated by ABF Botkyrka-Salem after a report confirmed the presence of gang criminals there. A leading figure within the ABF association then gathered many of his relatives to vote out Östlin. One of the relatives was the 30-year-old man, who has been convicted several times before.

Foxtrot is assessed to be the most violent and, according to the report, has carried out several acts of violence per month in 2025 to strengthen its position in the drug market. The Dalen network, with Gavle as its central location, is controlled by Mexico according to the police and has grown significantly in recent years. ‘He is one of the most influential figures in the Swedish gang criminal environment,’ says SVT’s crime reporter Diamant Salihu.

Expressen’s Fredrik Sjöshult notes that Swedish gang violence in recent years has largely revolved around three men: Foxtrot’s leader Rawa Majid, the Rumba network’s Ismail Abdo, and Mikael ‘The Greek’ Tenezos, leader of the Dalen network.

Ismail Abdo was arrested last summer in Turkey, leaving only Rawa Majid at large.

‘Two of the three key players identified have been locked up since the weekend, and this is of immense value in the fight against Swedish gang violence,’ writes Sjöshult.”

  58. “A 22-year-old man is sentenced to life imprisonment for shooting dead a man of the same age at Kattarp Square in Malmö in November last year.

    – Everything indicates that it was an execution, says councilor Sara-Emelie Savert in a press release.

The 22-year-old has admitted to bringing the murder weapon to Malmö, but denies being the one who fired the shot and instead claims that he handed the weapon to an unknown person before the murder.

According to the district court, several people have been involved by giving instructions to the 22-year-old, who acted as the executor of the murder.”
