Russia attacked the energy infrastructure in the Chernihiv region, leading to 12,000 subscribers being without power. Power Up Ukraine’s (and the United Arab Emirates’) efforts in the form of generators are still needed. The timing of the attack is uncertain, but Russia likely violated the Easter ceasefire.
Russian losses in Ukraine
Today’s report on yesterday’s Russian losses is somewhat lower with under 1000 injured and wounded soldiers, only four losses of armor, but we still have a significant 44 artillery and 185 soft vehicles as well as 2 special.
- 960 KWIA
- 2 Tanks
- 2 AFVs
- 44 Artillery systems
- 1 MLRS
- 1 Air defense system
- 1528 UAVs
- 185 Vehicles and Fuel tanks
- 2 Special equipment

Russian activities
The General Staff’s report on front activities provides an explanation for the lower losses. Even though the Easter ceasefire did not mean an end to all fighting, it seems that Easter was still celebrated. Unusually few battles, about half of the normal amount. No reported KIA at all (apparently the air force got some rest). The number of grenades is about a third. However, suicide drones were still active, although at a lower rate than usual.
- 107 battles
- 1202 grenades (including 20 from MLRS)
- 7702 suicide drones
Election in Hungary – Orbán suffered a major defeat
Péter Magyar and his party Tisza won decisively against Viktor Orbán and his party Fidesz in coalition with KDNP.
Tisza obtained 138 seats in parliament while Orbán’s side had to settle for 55. The far-right party (considered extreme right by some) Mi Hazánk Mozgalom managed to secure 8 seats.
The overwhelming victory means that Tisza has a supermajority (the threshold is at 133) and can therefore implement extensive reforms including amending certain laws, etc., without having to negotiate with any other parties. Of course, he must still keep the 138 together, as many were individually voted in, so it may still require some internal diplomacy to get everyone to agree.
Not all votes have been counted yet, but only 1.06% remains, so it will not make any difference.
Orbán conceded defeat last night and congratulated Magyar. It seems that he, despite all fears, will relinquish power without complications. Both sides accused each other of electoral fraud yesterday, but the election seems to have proceeded calmly overall.
It makes one wonder, could it be that the people under 16 years of age have actually voluntarily allowed themselves to be governed by Orbán, so that previous elections have actually been conducted fairly (except for him, of course, having full control over the media to influence the population).
Anyway, it’s incredibly reassuring that it went the right way!
Now we are just waiting for confirmation that Hungary will approve the EU’s latest aid package for Ukraine!
(When it’s time for elections in Russia, I hope Vance also goes there to show his support for Putin!)

SLAVA UKRAINI
Don't forget to donate, Ukraine's cause is ours! Support Ukraine!

It is likely that previous elections have been conducted fairly in Hungary. The people have disliked the Muslim immigration, and Orban has been a good listener there. During the storm Gudrun, I met many Hungarian drivers who were transporting storm-felled timber. All of them were in favor of Orban without exception.
“This week started well,” said the man who was hanged on Monday.”
The above proverb I dedicate to Orban today 🇹🇯
He may have become too confident in himself and now that the economy in Hungary has fallen behind while it has improved for the population, how much Orbán has enriched himself and his closest ones, one probably felt that it was time for an alternative.
Now, of course, Magyar is an untested card and he was previously a member of the same party as Orbán. Apparently, he has also previously voted against the loan to Ukraine. For Ukraine’s sake, it may be a little too early to cheer, but for Hungary, this is probably good.
Appropriate proverb!
TV aired a British documentary a couple of years ago about how Orban, with family and friends, helped themselves to the people’s money. It’s strange that it took so long before the Hungarians reacted.
By the way, what you wrote about Vance is spot on. He’s dumber than he thinks. 😐

Looking at a Navalnyj..
Can turn out to be a sow.
It’s one thing to bargain (like Erdogan did regarding Sweden and NATO) and another to directly do the bidding of darkness (Orban, Sweden and NATO, respectively Hungary, EU and Ukraine). The Hungarian negotiates well, releases money to Ukraine and in return receives EU grants. And those are grants that Hungary would have received anyway as long as they followed the rules, so no loss for the EU or Ukraine when that money is released.

The Russian Orthodox Easter was celebrated furthest in the north and south, but there was no Easter holiday in Donetsk.

A bit funny that Hungary is considered on-topic but not Iran. Financially and militarily, Hungary’s influence on the war in Ukraine has been like a mosquito compared to Iran’s. But if we are to have rules, then we shall…
We have no rules regarding that, where did you get it from?
I usually try to remember to write Off-Topic when the comments are not directly related to Ukraine (but I admit that I forget almost as often, especially when I’m busy or when I’m using my phone and have seen something I still want to share).
I’m just trying to be clear for those who want to read specifically about Ukraine (if the post is originally posted under the category War in Ukraine).
The reason I don’t care to write Off-Topic in the post itself is simply because it’s not a comment. There are many posts that are mixed, discussing both Ukraine, Iran, the USA, etc.
Individual news regarding the war in Iran as such, I don’t think has any direct connection to Ukraine (unless, for example, it’s about Ukraine delivering drones, or Iran supplying weapons to Russia).
I label Off-Topic based solely on my subjective view of what feels Ukraine-relevant.
Everyone is completely free to do as they wish.
The election in Hungary also doesn’t have any direct connection as you write.
But it’s a significant event and it could lead to the important loan possibly reaching Ukraine. It felt strange not to mention it.
But as I said, Off-Topic is not a rule but just an attempt on my part to show that it’s not directly related to Ukraine to help the reader. Of course, it doesn’t work out perfectly when I don’t always remember/have the energy/have the time to be consistent.
But I can stop using Off-Topic if it bothers you?
There has never been any rule about it.
By the way, I only set Off-Topic on initial comments.
Now I was mostly thinking about the other blog.
Also, I do read most of your comments. You said something about it the other week.
Ah, ok!
Ah, it was just a joke when you posted the same thing.
That’s what happens, it’s easy to miss comments when there are many.
Admittedly, there is a small marker to the right indicating what’s new, but if you comment before you’ve had a chance to go through the whole feed, that gets cleared too.
I miss many comments myself.
But sometimes posts come in while you are in the middle of a series of posts.
The rules – go hard against Trump.
Relativize everything else.
Keep your ears open about MP’s ravages.
Then you are in the green zone
👍
😂
You forgot to mention to fact-check what you write! 😄
Never spoil a good story! It’s so good by leaving cryptic messages without reference, so I find it hard to check the story. 🏅😎
And above all, do not criticize other people’s choice of clothing!
Off-Topic, Trump
The Savior Trump…
(If he has nothing more sensible to occupy himself with, he could at least play more golf?)
“Donald Trump directed harsh criticism towards Pope Leo XIV last night, whom he considers, among other things, to be “weak on crime” and “poor on foreign policy.” Several media outlets report this.
The Pope has previously expressed criticism of the US and Israel’s war on Iran, something he attributed to “imagined omnipotence,” according to AP.
Shortly after the night’s comments about the Pope, Donald Trump shared an AI-generated image on Truth Social where he appears to be healing a sick man through laying on of hands.”

“Trump posted an image depicting himself as Jesus healing the sick and sharply criticized Pope Leo XIV, accusing him of weakness on crime and backing Iran’s nuclear ambitions”
https://bsky.app/profile/noelreports.com/post/3mje6zo4kxs2y
Another penalty that has been given free hands to work magic.
Yes, when it comes to the images he shares, one certainly hopes so. At least it’s hardly him that AI generated them. Though he might receive such posts from other users on Truth social, of course.
And then there have been cases where pure text dumps have been faked from him as well. A bit tricky because it’s often difficult to tell them apart.. 😄
🤣🤣🤣🤣
How was it now with that golden calf and false idol images?
👍
Magyar apparently got a “supermajority” despite all the cheating, and Orban gave up immediately.
Well, he probably understood the number of people who would go against him otherwise, and that there was no gray area to exploit.
Now the question is – is Magyar good or bad 😀
Yes, that’s what we’ll see in the coming weeks!
As he has stated, he has written that he wants to approach the EU (probably wants to restart the contributions) and then it probably also requires an end to obstruction, so I hope that at least it will go in the right direction even if Hungary is still selfish and afraid of Russia and will not start donating any weapons to Ukraine.
He is closest to Orban’s own party, so either he is an opportunist or he is a national conservative.
Iran – USA
“Donald Trump and his advisors are considering resuming limited military strikes against Iran, in addition to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, to break the deadlock in peace negotiations. Sources with insight have informed the Wall Street Journal.
Large-scale strikes are also being considered, but according to the sources, it is less likely because it risks destabilizing the region and prolonging the war even further.
After the talks in Pakistan collapsed, Trump spent Sunday at his golf resort in Doral, Florida, where he played golf, talked to advisors, and called Fox News, threatening attacks on Iranian civilian infrastructure.
– I would hate to do it, but their water, desalination plants, and power plants are very easy to hit, he said.”

“American forces will initiate the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz tomorrow at 16:00 Swedish time. This was announced by the US Central Command Centcom, according to Reuters.
The blockade will stop all ships trying to enter or exit the strait. It doesn’t matter what flag the ships are sailing under.
Ships not sailing to or from Iranian ports will not be affected, according to Centcom.”

“The oil price is back above $100 per barrel as the US Navy prepares to block ships from reaching Iran via the Strait of Hormuz, writes Reuters.
At 06:45, Brent crude oil is trading above $102 per barrel, up 8.5 percent, while WTI oil is rising close to double digits to $104.8 per barrel.
In practice, the blockade will stop up to 2 million barrels of oil per day in Iran-related flows.
According to Michael Alfaro, head of the hedge fund Gallo Partners, a blockade of the strait indicates higher oil prices for “a longer period,” as it suggests that the war is dragging on, he tells FT.
The USA will initiate the blockade of all maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports at 16:00 Swedish time on Monday, according to the US Central Command.”

“The rapidly decreasing oil supply due to the Iran war is causing many countries around the world to face a real energy crisis – and the US response has been completely inconsistent. This is according to commodity consultant Obsidian Risk Advisors partner Brett Erickson speaking to Bloomberg.
He assesses that the Trump administration has “painted themselves into a corner” where the only remaining alternatives are to “either harm our allies in Asia or let Iran plunder the global energy markets.”

“The White House has released the “red lines” the USA says Iran did not want to agree to during the talks in Islamabad, sources tell CNN.
Several of the points were about Iran’s enrichment of uranium. Among other things, the USA wanted Iran to agree to hand over 400 kilos of enriched uranium believed to be hidden underground. The USA also demanded a total halt to enrichment in the future.
Other red lines were that Iran fully opens the Strait of Hormuz and refrains from charging for passage, and that they stop financing the terrorist groups Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis in Yemen.
USA’s red lines
Iran ending all uranium enrichment.
Iran dismantling all its major nuclear enrichment facilities.
Iran handing over more than 400 kilos of enriched uranium believed to be buried underground.
Iran accepting a broader framework for “peace, security, and de-escalation” that includes allies in the region.
Iran ceasing to finance the terrorist-designated proxy groups Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.
Fully opening the Strait of Hormuz, and not imposing tolls on passage.”

“John Brennan, CIA chief between 2013 and 2017, is the latest in the USA to advocate for the removal of Donald Trump. This is reported by The Guardian.
– This person is obviously out of control. I believe the 25th amendment was written with Donald Trump in mind, he says to the TV channel MS Now.
Trump is too unstable to be commander in chief and have control over immense firepower, including nuclear weapons – he is a threat to many people’s lives, according to Brennan.
The 25th amendment of the Constitution allows for the removal of a president who can no longer fulfill his duties.”

Considering the civil infrastructure Trump is talking about, you can see similarities in mindset between Trump and the Russian military leadership. Creating suffering and starvation to win, affecting civilians is part of the plan. The same ideology as medieval sieges and the Biafra war.
“Ships that do not sail to or from Iranian ports will not be affected, according to Centcom.”
Assuming the blockade prevents Iranian attempts to block ship traffic through the strait? Presumably requires “boots on the ground”?
