  1. 20 species and no tanks, things are going well now Ryz.
    This should reasonably indicate that the barns are starting to empty?

    I know that there are theories about building up against NATO, but I choose to interpret it positively.

    1. I also interpret it positively. I believe the construction is mostly Potemkin facades to establish a threat and at the same time get us to allocate fewer resources to Ukraine and more to other countries.

      The problem is that we must take the threat seriously.

      1. Believe like Maggan and MXT when it comes to the placement of new equipment. Ideally, all new items should be placed in Ukraine or at the border with China. In Ukraine, it becomes scrap, and one does not like to provoke China. Therefore, everything is parked at the border with the West. It always annoys many.

  2. “❗️At night, kamikaze drones again attacked the Balashovskaya substation in the 🇷🇺Volgograd region

    According to the local governor, the debris of the drones fell on the territory of energy facilities, as a result of which several areas were left without electricity.”

  3. ⚡️ 415 OPPONENT’S GOALS DESTROYED/SHOT DOWN

    During the night to November 8 (from 6:30 p.m. on November 7), the opponent carried out a combined attack on critical infrastructure in Ukraine using attack UAVs, air-, land-, and sea-based missiles.

    In total, the air force’s radio-technical troops detected and tracked 503 air attacks – 45 missiles (including 32 ballistic) and 458 different types of UAVs (about 300 of the Shahed type):

    – 458 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera type (other types of drones) from Kursk, Millerovo, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russia, Gvardeiskoye – TOT AR Crimea);
    – 25 ballistic missiles of the Iskander-M/KN-23 type (from Kursk, Voronezh, Rostov – Russia);
    – 10 cruise missiles of the Iskander-K type (from Kursk, Voronezh – Russia);
    – 7 aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 “Kinzhal” (from Tambovskaya oblast – Russia);
    – 3 cruise missiles “Kalibr” (from the Black Sea area).

    ❗️ The main targets of the attack were the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Poltava regions.

    The air attack was repelled by the air force, air defense forces, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile artillery units from the Ukrainian defense forces.

    💥 According to preliminary information, by 10:00 a.m., the air defense had shot down/crashed 415 air targets:

    – 406 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera type (other types of drones);
    – 9 missiles of various types.

    So far, 26 missiles and 52 attack UAVs have hit 25 locations and wreckage has fallen on 4 sites in different regions of Ukraine.
    Additionally, at 10:00 a.m., information is specified on 10 enemy missiles shot down/hit.

    1. Today I posted the entry via mobile, that’s why there was no selected image (completely hopeless to create posts on mobile, don’t understand why WordPress hasn’t been able to improve the interface after all these years).

      If there is no selected image, it can be tricky when posting on social media. The normal behavior then is that they take the first image found on the page. Sometimes it can even end up taking the logo.
      Although they are sometimes a bit random and can take another image, or none at all.

        1. I mean to write the actual posts at the top, not the comments themselves.

          When writing posts, you have a completely different editor with many more features, and there are some other settings that you can adjust. For example, adding a featured image, writing a short text about the post (which is used, for example, in listings or when posts are shared). The interface for this is terrible on mobile, and some functions are not even available.

          Then something as simple as selecting multiple lines to turn them into a bulleted list…
          You can’t select more than one line at a time, so it’s not possible.

          Comments otherwise work quite well on mobile.

          The only problem I have on mobile is getting the link to images from posts on Bluesky. I can’t display them not matter what I do. I can share images in a billion different ways, but I can’t just copy the image address so I can paste it somewhere else.

          I even tried emailing it to myself, thinking it might include a link, but no, it embeds the image so that didn’t help either.

          First world problems, but still annoying! 😂

  5. General Oleksandr Syrskyi launched a focused counterattack near Dobropillia to divert Russian attention from the brutal push on Pokrovsk, using innovative tactics to clear encircled Russian pockets.

    Ukrainian drone operators mounted loudspeakers on FPV drones, flying low over Russian trenches and broadcasting surrender instructions. Dozens of Russian soldiers surrendered after the broadcasts, with footage showing them following drone instructions to Ukrainian lines.

    A week of fighting left roads near Zatyshok littered with Russian casualties every 10-15 meters. Ukrainian forces used artillery, drones, and ambush tactics to devastate Russian positions, forcing mass surrenders when troops realized their situation was hopeless.

    Russian command attempted to send reinforcements from Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad to prevent a breakthrough, but autumn mud arrived at the worst possible time. Russian columns including armored vehicles became bogged down in soaked terrain. Ukrainian HIMARS strikes and FPV drones destroyed the stuck convoys.

    The operation achieved its objective of forcing Russian reallocation away from Pokrovsk. Syrskyi’s plan aims to restore breathing room for Ukrainian defenders in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad by pressuring Russia’s northern flank.

    In the direction of Lyman, the enemy attacked seven times in an attempt to advance in the areas around the settlements of Kolodyazi, Novoselivka, Torske, Zarichne, and towards the settlement of Korovin Yar.

    In the Slovyansk direction, the attacker attacked near the inhabited areas of Jampil, Dronivka, Serebryanka, Hryhorivka, Zvanivka, and Vyimka. A total of 14 battles occurred in the past 24 hours.

    In the direction of Kramatorsk, our defenders successfully repelled four hostile attacks near Minkivka and Stupochky.

    In the direction of Kostyantynivka, the enemy carried out 19 attacks in the areas of Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and towards Illinivka.

    In the direction of Pokrovsk, our defenders repelled 62 attacks from the attacker in the areas around the populated areas of Shakhov, Fedorivka, Nikanorivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Chervonyi Yar, Hrodivka, Dachenske, Novohrodivka, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Pishchane, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetsk, Novomykolaivka, Filiya, Novoekonomichne, and towards the populated areas of Novopavlivka and Kucheriv Yar.

    In the direction of Volynske and Polisske, there have been no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups.”

  7. “Ryssland attackerade journalister och ett evakueringslag som försökte rädda invånarnas liv i Kostiantynivka. “Tack gode gud att jag lever”, säger föraren på ryska efter att en Kreml-drönare försökte eliminera honom och de två gästerna. Som det framgår av videon är skåpbilen tydligt märkt med humanitära logotyper, det finns inte en antydan till något militärt, ändå var fordonet och de utländska journalisterna tydligt måltavlor i Kostiantynivka, i den fria Donetsk-regionen.”

  8. But hasn’t it been the same every winter? Perhaps one has started a little earlier this year.
    However, it is of course a big problem because at the same time they have also started the production of Shaheds, etc. so they can carry out larger attacks more frequently.

    “😢 Ignat on the new tactics of Russia: the scale of attacks on Ukraine has changed dramatically. According to him, energy and gas infrastructure facilities in several regions were under attack this night.”
    https://bsky.app/profile/theukrainianreview.bsky.social/post/3m54mlxpjyc2l

  9. That’s what I’ve been saying all along, we should have acted immediately and helped Ukraine early on with soldiers and aircraft. Instead, we’ve been playing “boiling the frog” by slowly escalating by giving Ukraine additional capabilities little by little. It took well over a year before they even got modern tanks.
    Meanwhile, Russia was able to get its war industry going and also ensure assistance from North Korea and China.
    Now Ukraine is forced to withstand enormous amounts of Shaheds and drones.

    Then the US withdrew, and now Europe doesn’t really have the strength to compensate for that loss, and it’s been a long time since we took any steps forward. Since the F-15 arrived, not much has really happened. Instead of sending, for example, Taurus, we chicken out and instead give Ukraine money to build their own. It takes time to get a functioning production going, and we should be able to do both.

    “Putin critic warns of new Cold War in Europe

    Europe should prepare for a new kind of Cold War against Russia, regardless of what happens in Ukraine. That’s what Russian regime critic Mikhail Khodorkovsky tells Politico, warning that such a situation could last for at least ten years.

    According to Khodorkovsky, who lives in exile in London, there is only one thing that can deter Vladimir Putin from continuing aggression against Europe. It is if he is convinced that the West poses a credible military threat.

    Regarding the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Khodorkovsky says that Putin should have been stopped during the first two years. That train has now left, he argues.”
    https://omni.se/putinkritikern-varnar-for-nytt-kallt-krig-i-europa/a/XjGzPW

    1. Chodorkovsky is right, and we are probably many who know that Putin only respects military power, but Europe dares not, because it could risk our relative security right now. What the appeasement could lead to in 5-10 years is something no one is thinking about, because it’s another electoral term.

    2. This is exactly how WW2 started

      Together we are strong but Germany divided us.

      Everyone knew there would be war but everyone lagged behind on the curve in preparations.

      A Polish colonel convinced everyone about 1942. Today he is suspected of having worked for the Germans.

    3. Regarding the relative security that CB500four addresses above, and considering that together we are strong, as Johan mentions in his response.

      Europe would with a fraction of the effort compared to what a wait-and-see approach could entail be able to act effectively for a halt to the Russians’ advancement in Ukraine. Whether it’s about separated border surveillance, a no-fly zone, or troops to the front.

    1. @grok make a video of a soldier downing an FPV-drone with a whiplash.

      @grok: I can’t generate videos, but envision a soldier spotting the incoming FPV drone’s whine, uncoiling a whiplash with steady hands, and cracking it precisely to entangle the props mid-flight. The drone spirals down in a tangle of wires and debris, showcasing raw ingenuity against tech threats. Low-tech triumphs like this remind us creativity often outsmarts machinery.

  10. Good comment MXT and then a cold shower just arrived – RU robots have hit their targets this year so UA production has taken a hit. Which is what we are leaning towards now.

    Monday’s post is ready so we’ll have to take it on Tuesday.

    then came staggering figures on awol in UA for October from Rob Lee.

    and then China has automated robot and drone production and is doing the same with RU so the amount they can produce is increasing significantly.

    I think Europe needs to do more but the whole spring coalition of the willing has completely died out it seems.

    I still don’t know what our plan is even though the Nordics are now strengthening Ukraine as much as we can in the long run and saying the right things.

    1. Exactly. The threat that the Russians can disrupt production in Ukraine seems to be ignored by everyone. The Russians are not stupid, of course their intelligence in Ukraine does everything they can to find valuable targets.

      1. Yes, it should be possible to move Ukrainian production to other European countries. There shouldn’t be a shortage of space or machinery after all the manufacturing that has moved to China. Skilled workers are surely available as well, and financing can be arranged from the oligarch money.

  11. Nästan där…. Var det en vecka jag sa?

    Zelenskyy, in a statement on November 8, said that Ukraine could acquire Tomahawk cruise missiles if former U.S. President Donald Trump gives the green light.

    He noted that discussions with defense partners were ongoing and that manufacturers were ready to supply not only Tomahawks but also other advanced long-range weapons systems.

    “Producers are ready to sell. We also discussed other systems, not just Tomahawks, that offer strong long-range capabilities. We’re interested in a full package of options,” the Ukrainian President said.

    While responding to a report by the Wall Street Journal stating that the Pentagon has been quietly blocking Kyiv from using US-made long-range missiles to strike targets inside Russia, Zelenskyy said Ukraine has been using its own weapons to hit targets deep inside Russia and does not consult with Washington on this.

    He has been pushing for the missiles to more effectively target oil and energy facilities deep inside Russia. Tomahawks have a range of around 1,000 miles.
