  1. AFU “In total, over the past day, 140 fighting were recorded.”
Yesterday, the opponent caused 74 air strikes at the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, dropping 97 cab. In addition, carried out 6457 shells, including 145 – from jet fire systems, and deployed 2,350 kamikaze drones for impression.”
  2. “Ukrainian HIMARS using M30A1 missiles destroyed four Russian choppers parked somewhere in the rear in the Belgorod region, Russia. Two Ka-52 and two Mi-8 were showered by a tungsten rain.”

      1. Great! +4 in that category is awesome. The KA-52 is from 2011 and Russia has 137 units according to Wikipedia. The Mi-8 is from 1967 and Russia has 788 units, maybe 786 now if Wikipedia wasn’t quick to update.

  3. “Ryssland genomförde en drönarattack mot Kyiv Oblast natten till den 24 mars, skadade en 37-årig man och orsakade skador på bostäder och kommersiella fastigheter, meddelade tillförordnade guvernören Mykola Kalashnyk.”

  4. RUMINT:
“I’m seeing the rumors about Russian General Lapin being killed in Belgorod. I’ve been looking through publications to see if there’s anything on this to confirm. I haven’t seen anything (yet?) But Kommersant is already posting their Monday news and they haven’t said anything yet.”

  5. One is trying to pretend that Russia has not kidnapped any children, and the other is trying to get them to return them.

“The US is asking Russia to return Ukrainian children who were illegally taken to the Russian Federation,” National Security Advisor Waltz said in an interview with CBS News.”

  6. “Atesh partisans sabotage railway line in Russia’s Smolensk Oblast, group claims. The Atesh partisan group sabotaged a railway line in Russia’s Smolensk Oblast, disrupting the transport of military cargo toward Bryansk and the Kursk Oblast, the group claimed via Telegram on March 23.”

  7. “Russia: Ryssar spränger sina egna broar i Belgorod-regionen för att sakta ner ukrainarna från att avancera längre in i Ryssland. Eldstrider rapporteras. Den här är i Grafovka.”

    1. Feels quite symptomatic that it is specifically a ceasefire in the Black Sea that is requested. The area where Ukraine has the clearest advantage.

  8. BIZARRE: Jessica Aber, a 43-year-old US attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia who resigned on the day Trump became President, was found dead yesterday. Aber oversaw cases against Russians involving money laundering, sanctions violations, and even war crimes.

  9. “Ryssland ökar de ekonomiska incitamenten för militära rekryter på grund av en allvarlig brist på nya frivilliga, rapporterade Ukrainas militära underrättelsetjänst (HUR) den 23 mars.”

      1. Wondering how much it helps to increase the compensation? For the vast majority, $23,000 is already a lot of money. And according to economic utility theory, as well as human experience, the utility decreases quite quickly with more money, so it would have to be a substantial increase for it to make a difference. But then, on the other hand, a psychological effect can kick in, making it feel unreal. Many people who buy lottery tickets dream “if I won $100,000” rather than 250 million, because it becomes a more realistic dream.

    1. I have not seen that particular one by Vexler, but other movies. Is the answer “no” because what is happening is explained by Trump having narcissistic personality disorder?

      1. Since Trump has been to Moscow several times and moved in those circles, Putin probably has kompromat on Trump. But it’s probably not the kompromat that drives Trump, it’s rather the narcissism as you mentioned.

  10. Poor Russian soldiers! 😄
“1/ Russian veterans of the war in Ukraine have appealed to Vladimir Putin for help against a new and deadlier enemy – their wives, who they say have been corrupted by feminists and “Anglo-Saxons”. The men say they have been kicked out “on the street, abandoned and impotent”.”

    1. “Branden på en rysk oljedepå i Krasnodar kraj fortsätter för femte dagen efter en drönarattack, enligt myndigheterna. Brandmännen fortsätter att bekämpa en brand vid en oljedepå nära byn Kavkazskaya i Rysslands Krasnodar kraj för femte dagen efter en drönarattack, hävdade lokala myndigheter den 24 mars.”

    1. Hm… Should one be happy or sad? Hoping that a competition between JAS and Rafale will be decided on the (training) battlefield and not in political corridors.

Even Germany and Poland have received cold landing slots and have pulled in their wings, wondering if they should break their contracts.

  12. “Exposed: The ‘Stop Zelensky’ protesters sowing Russian disinfo across Europe
“Peace demonstrators” in the Netherlands falsely claim to represent Ukrainian voices while campaigning against the Ukrainian government and aid for Ukraine.”

  13. “Ukrainian Railways hit by ‘large-scale, targeted cyberattack.’ Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) was the target of a large-scale and sophisticated cyberattack, the company said on March 24, adding that the restoration of all systems is ongoing.”

  14. Positive news from Kenneth Gregg about knocked out radar stations in Crimea.

23.03.2025 evening update. As you all know, we have been hitting hard in Crimea in the past few days. I received earlier information about the results, but I didn’t dare to trust the information even though I got it from a person who has never exaggerated before, now the info was so positive that I hesitated to publish it. Now it has been confirmed, so here it comes:
    – 3 PANTSIR -S1
    – 2 S-300 VM
    – 2 PODLYOT
    – 2 NIOBIUM-SV
    – 3 KASTA 2 E2
These radar systems are intended for surveillance and tracking of Ukrainian drones and missiles at different altitudes, and their value exceeds 500 million USD.
Additionally, they knocked out 1 MI-8 helicopter and a transport/tugboat in the process.
So, what does this mean practically, well, a lot. Even before the outbreak of the war, Russia had difficulty producing new radar systems, and this situation has not improved despite the Kremlin allocating a lot of money to the defense industry. When you can’t produce new ones, you have to move existing systems to the units that have lost theirs. This is why the Russian air defense is leaking like a sieve. Replacing 12 stations in Crimea becomes almost an impossible task. Furthermore, the time is approaching when our F16s and Mirages can start operating undisturbed at the fronts.
The Ukrainian attack was a combination of our new UAVs and fiber-optic-controlled FPV drones fired from our drone boats. This caught the Russians off guard, and the operation was successful. Although the Russians have concentrated quite a bit of air defense here, now that the radar is lost, the air defense becomes blind. This will open up for more attacks on the repair hubs the Russians have concentrated in Crimea. Most of the weapons have been sent to Kursk, as well as troop units and ammunition. Now that these hubs are vulnerable, we will see the result also in Kursk. The same principle applies to Kherson Oblast as to Crimea, the Russians are starting to run out of resources in these two districts.
Another thing that arises now is the time window for our airplanes to knock out the Kerch Bridge. To destroy the bridge, we need to conduct air raids, without radar systems, the Russians will have a hard time stopping us. I now see this as just a matter of time, the bridge will be destroyed.
The Kremlin has guaranteed that they can defend Crimea, but high officials, officers, and businessmen have already moved their families away from Crimea. Incoming summer tourism can already be written off, which will lead to significant economic losses for those who stay.
The Kremlin now knows that we can hit hard in Crimea, which would have consequences on other fronts as well. The absolutely most important front for the Kremlin is Pokrovsk, and the tide has already turned in our favor there. If Crimea starts leaking like a sieve now, the Kremlin must negotiate a ceasefire as soon as possible. The question is how well-informed the tour guide is about reality or if he is fed with narratives about how well the war is going. At least Western media spreads this nonsense daily.
I have been considered an optimist in my updates, but as I said, I found it hard to believe this when I received the information. Therefore, I have been more of a pessimist than a realist, especially when our defense forces can carry out such operations and no one believes in them.

    1. Is there any other source confirming? Sounds really good. And if we reach the point where flights can operate undisturbed, can’t we without much risk lend out some pilots who want to gain work experience?

  15. US Vice President JD Vance: “Denmark, which controls Greenland, is not doing its job and it’s not being a good ally. How are we going to solve that problem? If that means we need to take more territorial interest in Greenland, that is what President Trump is going to do because he doesn’t care about what the Europeans scream at us, he cares about putting the interests of America’s citizens first.”

    1. Jacobus CXII

Very scary! An associate professor at the Danish Defence Academy and former defense attaché in Ukraine, argues that the upcoming visit by the Americans to Greenland is reminiscent of the actions of Russian politicians before Russia’s annexation of the Crimean Peninsula.

      1. We can only hope that there are still some in Congress who remember who the friends of the USA are. Otherwise, we have even more urgent problems than Moscow to deal with.

  16. “The 429th “ACHILLES” Unmanned Systems Regiment dismantled Russian forces in the Kharkiv region. Two tanks, a GMZ tracked minelayer, and three trucks were destroyed. Seven Russians were eliminated, and four wounded.”

  17. “Russians erased my home and took the life of my grandmother”: Russia kills and injures civilians across Ukraine as the US is conducting negotiations with Russia.

  18. Update from 08:00 on 24.03.2025 regarding the Russian invasion
A total of 140 firefights were recorded during the past day.

In the past 24 hours, AFU🇺🇦’s air force, drone forces, and artillery have targeted 13 areas with a concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, three UAV control points, an air defense system, three artillery systems, and another important enemy target.

    1. In the Pokrovsk sector, AFU🇺🇦 stopped 61 attacks against Panteleymonivka, Vodiane Druhe, Yelizavetivka, Lysivka, Andriivka, Kotlyne, Uspenivka, Bohdanivka, and towards Serhiivka. AFI🇺🇦 is holding back AFRF🇷🇺’s attacks, which are suffering significant losses – 227 occupiers have been neutralized in this area so far, 119 of them irreversibly. Additionally, 13 vehicles, an armored vehicle, a UAV antenna, a buggy, a satellite terminal, a motorcycle, and a hostile cannon were destroyed. Furthermore, a tank, an armored vehicle, three vehicles, a rocket launcher, and two hostile cannons were severely damaged.

  19. “Minister of Defense Pål Jonson held a press briefing on the defense upgrade and the ongoing developments in the field of equipment.”

  20. “How popular is Donald Trump?”
Now it has been updated, the rounded numbers are the same as the last time it was updated (the 13th) but if you hover the mouse over the graph, you can see that his popularity has decreased slightly from -4.4 to -4.6. The graph is indeed a kind of forecast based on several weighted surveys, so it should be seen more as a guideline than exact figures.

  21. “The gas metering station in Sudzha, Kursk region, is still on fire. The Sudzha gas metering station was the last route through which Russian natural gas was delivered to Europe through Ukraine. Transportation terminated on the morning of January 1, 2025. Both sides blame each other for damage.”

  22. I’m not sure, but I think that Russia has a daily report on Ukrainian losses:

    Civilians
    Hospitals
    Preschools
    Universities
    Churches
    Residential buildings
    Grocery stores

    Has anyone seen it?

  23. Finally Monday morning, the clock is approaching seven and on the way to the car, always a bit of a lottery if the driver shows up.

Have now noted what we said a couple of weeks ago that RU will cut by September at the latest.

Now the others are starting to catch up 😀

              1. Yes, infiltration is constantly ongoing. My dear sometimes also shows clear signs of completely irrational behavior. Clearly a precursor to Putifinrting.

  24. “Difference of 1,037 days and minus 40 kg.” National Guard soldier Ivan Petrovskiy revealed photos showing him before and after Russian captivity. Captured in May 2022, Ivan endured three years, including stints in Olenivka and Volgograd, before a March 19 exchange. He faced health issues.”

    1. 😂

What new colors do you get? Except for the lines that are supposed to show new posts, nothing else should have changed?

Unless you had an old cached stylesheet, of course. I’ve noticed that mobile phones have become more and more grumpy when it comes to understanding that the stylesheets have been changed.

Russian businesses have significantly scaled back their recruitment efforts in early 2025, with job openings falling 15% compared to the same period last year, Russian newspaper Izvestia reported on March 24, citing data from employment service hh.ru.

    https://kyivindependent.com/russian-job-market-cools-as-hiring-plunges-15-in-early-2025-russian-media-reports/

Unfortunately, fewer job opportunities mean that more people are considering being recruited.

    1. The two screenshots of the chat group DO NOT feel authentic – just a feeling I get…

If they are real, these are back-patting idiots but maybe we have already guessed that – you don’t start a war with fist bumps even in the USA.

Ukraine used “Long Neptune” for the first time against a military target in occupied Crimea, — Zelensky’s advisor Kamyshin 📍Zelensky reported that Ukraine used a new cruise missile “Long Neptune” with a range of 1000 km against a Russian oil refinery — this was the second time it was used

The Ukrainian military has received its first Bohdana-B towed 155mm howitzer, a domestically produced artillery system designed to boost battlefield firepower with a cost-effective and durable alternative to self-propelled variants, according to the 47th Artillery Brigade on March 24.
Not as good as Archer but they estimate being able to produce 40 units/month.

    1. Yes, they are cheap and mass-produced – almost 500 units annually is quite a lot, and UA is now also manufacturing its own 155mm ammunition.

    2. Interesting that Ukraine’s production of the actual piece is so much higher than the foreign chassis they want to use for the self-propelled type. Europe must shift into a higher gear.
