      Believe combination of second and third. Or modified: meat road is the rule today when armor becomes outdated and a material cost that the Russians do not want to take (the cost of human lives is fine, however). So always meat road. I think the third point could be about bad sections but that the Russians “must” take to reach their goals. It could be well-fortified areas like Ukraine prepared specifically to cause as many losses as possible. Or advancing over unprotected farmland. Which must be taken to reach a certain point. Then KWIA can rise. For the third, we also see smaller attack groups in the Russian attacks. This can reduce vulnerability and the number of KWIA per attack. Discussed earlier in the thread.       For example, there was a time when Ukraine used HIMARS and clustered a few hundred soldiers in training.
