        I have probably written it before, but someone I know went to the USA at the end of last year. He was disappointed and claimed that the USA is on the decline. Most things were run down and in poor condition except where the upper class resided. Even the tourist traps were worn out. Despite low sales tax, it was still expensive.

        He stayed, among other places, at a budget hotel that cost 2000 SEK per night but would have had to close down if it were in Sweden.

        Still, he traveled around in four different states and several cities.

        Anecdotal of course, but there is probably some truth to it nonetheless.

She has since become more and more radicalized and now openly associates with Hamas activists. What is the next step in her radicalization when she does not achieve her goals and the spotlight fades?

        What are you trying to insinuate with quotation marks around innocent? She has indeed been arrested a couple of times in connection with demonstrations when she refused to move but I guess you have something else in mind?

        Maybe you should wait with the comparison to Ulrike Meinhoff until she possibly goes the same way, or do you think Greta is a terrorist?

          There are few schoolgirls who have an advertising guru backing them up when they want to protest.

          Greta socializes with terrorist sympathizers, which is downplayed by the Swedish news media but sometimes brought up in editorials that few read. For example, Karin Pihl’s excellent editorial that I have clipped some parts from.

          One of the activists on the boat was, according to German media, present at the funeral of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Hezbollah is an Iran-backed anti-Semitic terrorist militia that has the destruction of the state of Israel as one of its main goals.

The chant “from the river to the sea,” implying Israel’s destruction, has been shouted at demonstrations.

          Fridays for Future and Thunberg have dutifully distanced themselves from human rights violations and both Islamophobia and anti-Semitism. However, individuals often appear by Thunberg’s side who do not do so.

    The oil price has indeed risen, but far from as much as it would have done if Saudi had not opened the taps during the spring.

    Saudi and Iran are archenemies in the region, are they involved and have been asked to increase in order to reduce the expected oil price hike in case of an attack?

    Israel has no possibility to make a ground invasion in Iran. If that is the goal, only the USA and Saudi Arabia remain to send in troops.

      Trump has been pressuring OPEC for a long time to increase production. It started already the last time he was president. It’s an easy way to buy popularity and make people happy since the vast majority are affected and it’s easy to understand and noticed directly in the wallet. The Sweden Democrats and the right did the same thing before the election.

        Wallet issues are important for most parties that want to be relevant, the idealists who want gasoline to cost 50 SEK and that we should only be allowed to eat meat once a week only gather a handful of votes.

        I agree with you that the war is hardly an action to help Putin.

        However, we should keep an eye on Saudi, a Saudi that must address its problems and must reform itself. MBS is probably eyeing the UAE and their success, which is not entirely dependent on oil revenues and government employees. Oil won’t last forever and right now they are burning their income on fake jobs and a military buildup to counter the threat from Iran.

        3. Increase the price of oil, supporting oil producers like Saudi, Russia, but also the USA, although the price rises for consumers.

        4. Stop Iran’s help to Russia.

        I think the fourth one is the least likely, as it would mean a complete change in course since it would imply that the USA actually wants to make it harder for Russia.

        Trump only thinks of himself, and fulfilling campaign promises, the latter maybe deserves some credit, if the promises weren’t so absurd. So I lean towards a combination of the first three, with emphasis on 1 and 3.

        Overall, actually all points except the third one are positive for the common man.

    Israel’s attack on Iran was preceded by years of planning.
