  1. AFU: “In total, for yesterday recorded 209 combat clashes.
The enemy launched 78 aviation strikes at the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, dropping 124 controlled bombs. In addition, carried out more than 5,200 shelling, of which 108 were from jet systems of salvage fire, and involved 3135 kamikadze drones for impression.”

Trump probably doesn’t want the country to be at war when he has his military parade on Saturday. Most likely, he has some ready-to-launch plans prepared at Garcia for Sunday’s meeting with Iran. If Iran doesn’t back down at that meeting, I think they will strike.

  2. If I understand this correctly, Israel has also tried to take out the leadership in Iran?

Do you think Iran will retaliate or will it end here?

There is a certain risk of a few volleys back and forth now where the USA will assist with B2 and robots.

If we criticize Trump a bit, he will probably be one of the great war presidents, we have guessed rather than “peace in three days”.

Fits well unfortunately, consciously or unconsciously, that the USA is fully occupied domestically and in Iran when the next escalation starts – you know which one.

And you can probably guess that the Palestinian movements will go absolutely bananas – good in Sweden that the government acted as one and condemned the attacks on members of parliament and ministers ๐Ÿ‘

The political leadership and the mullahs seem to have survived, but it is probably good form not to attack them.

The following top figures are out:

      Iranian Military Generals

Maj. Gen. Mohammad Bagheri, chief of staff of the armed forces and the second-highest commander after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Gen. Hossein Salami, commander in chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, Iran’s primary military force.

Gen. Gholamali Rashid, deputy commander in chief of the armed forces.

      Nuclear Scientists

Fereydoun Abbasi, the former head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.

Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, a theoretical physicist and president of the Islamic Azad University in Tehran.

  3. Military parade and National Intervention Force against civilians and at the same time more and more demonstrations around the USA.
    This could escalate quickly.

Are we seeing the beginning of the end for the USA?

      1. I have probably written it before, but someone I know went to the USA at the end of last year. He was disappointed and claimed that the USA is on the decline. Most things were run down and in poor condition except where the upper class resided. Even the tourist traps were worn out. Despite low sales tax, it was still expensive.

He stayed, among other places, at a budget hotel that cost 2000 SEK per night but would have had to close down if it were in Sweden.

Still, he traveled around in four different states and several cities.

Anecdotal of course, but there is probably some truth to it nonetheless.

      1. It was a smaller group that was exposed last year, the influencers who were involved there thrive and prosper so I guess they are also going strong.

  4. Printout from Putin, Trump, and Netanyahu’s common group chat that The Old Man accidentally managed to eavesdrop on a few months ago.

Trump: “Netanyahu, it doesn’t look good when you attack hospitals and civilians, but I am ready to support you all the way, but then I want you to promise me a big share of Gazprom when the war is over. I’m thinking 10%?”

I have already let architects start sketching the “Trump resort”. It will be a wonderful resort, probably the best resort in the world. You, my dear friends, will of course each get a top floor in the two finest hotels.”

Netanyahu: “Of course, Trump, as long as you ensure to deliver the weapons we ask for and make sure to try to silence all criticism against us. And you MUST make sure to kick out all Palestine supporters from the USA.”

Trump: “Good, good, then we have a deal!”

Putin: “As you know, I have had trouble defeating Ukraine, they are much more resilient than I could have imagined. Besides, they get support from that disgusting Gayropa. They no longer take my nuclear threats seriously!

I had to try to crush Ukraine and as you know, I sought help from Iran. Their Shaheds are cheap and have worked excellently to terrorize the population of Ukraine.

Initially, Iran was satisfied with gold, but later they demanded more, they wanted technology and knowledge to manufacture nuclear weapons, especially if they were to provide drawings so we could start building Shaheds ourselves.

I simply had to give them what they demanded. I hope you understand that?

I never thought it would go as fast for them as it has, but now I have information indicating that in about half a year, they may have operational nuclear warhead missiles. I thought it would take several years.

I truly apologize for this, I mean, not even I really want them to have access to nuclear weapons. They are not worthy, and one never knows what those fools might cause.

We need to solve this problem, I believe we are all three in agreement on that, right?”

Trump: “That doesn’t sound good at all. What were you thinking, really?”

Netanyahu: “No, that was not good at all, but we understand, in war, anything goes. Of course, we must do something about it. If I know you right, you have a plan?”

Putin: “As you know, I have major problems with our economy. War costs money, and on top of that, we get such a bad price for our oil because of all the idiotic sanctions.

Trump, your discussions with Iran are not going well. Perhaps because they are now close to developing functional nuclear weapons.

My suggestion is that you simply attack Iran, Trump, and blame it on the negotiations.

Not only can you eliminate nuclear weapons, but you will also do me a great favor.
The war will lead to an increase in oil prices, and moreover, the world will shift its focus away from the Ukraine conflict.

Consider it as partial payment for all the help I have given you.”

Netanyahu: “We fully support it. It will also divert attention from what we are doing in Gaza, and of course, we do not want to see an Iran with nuclear weapons. It is a direct threat to us.”

Trump: “I support the idea of war but say no, I am trying to portray myself as a peace negotiator. I have withdrawn from Ukraine as much as I can to help you, Putin, with the justification that it is not our issue. I cannot go to war with Iran. It wouldn’t look good. I really want that peace prize.”

Putin: “Then I suggest that Israel attacks Iran, but of course with the support of the USA if needed. Iran will probably, as usual, attack American facilities and soldiers, in that case, you, Trump, can intervene with the justification of protecting American lives.”

Netanyahu: “I accept it, if I know that I will get help from you, Trump. We have good intel, but you can still contribute, but above all, we may need help defending ourselves when Iran tries to strike back. Our air defense is superior but can be overwhelmed.”

Trump: “That sounds like a good plan.
Almost like I could have come up with it myself. I can plan, and my plans tend to be the best plans, and I say that is a good plan.

    It’s a deal!

    When do we start?

Did I mention that it was a good plan by the way?”.

    1. The USA has nothing to do with the war! Completely according to plan! ๐Ÿ˜„

“US Secretary of State Marco Rubio states that the USA is not involved in Israel’s attacks on Iran, according to ABC News. This is reported by TT.

โ€œTonight, Israel has taken unilateral actions against Iran. We are not involved in the attacks on Iran and our top priority is to protect American forces in the region,โ€ Rubio said in a statement.”

  5. Missed this yesterday.

“Accomplices to genocide” and “racist narratives”?
That was not an okay statement (even though I can understand if she got mad at Ebba).
Starting to lean towards her being completely radicalized.

She should have stuck to the climate issues, where she did a good job.

“Activist Greta Thunberg is now responding to KD leader Ebba Busch’s criticism of the attention-grabbing action on the ship Madleen. This is reported by Aftonbladet.

“It’s fascinating how those in power who are accomplices to genocide spend their time inventing or twisting things to fit their racist narratives, rather than acting to save lives.”

Greta started out as a little “innocent” schoolgirl holding up signs similar to Ulrike Meinhof in her youth. She has since become more and more radicalized and now openly associates with Hamas activists. What is the next step in her radicalization when she does not achieve her goals and the spotlight fades?

      1. What are you trying to insinuate with quotation marks around innocent? She has indeed been arrested a couple of times in connection with demonstrations when she refused to move but I guess you have something else in mind?

Maybe you should wait with the comparison to Ulrike Meinhoff until she possibly goes the same way, or do you think Greta is a terrorist?

        1. Westley Richard

There are few schoolgirls who have an advertising guru backing them up when they want to protest.

Greta socializes with terrorist sympathizers, which is downplayed by the Swedish news media but sometimes brought up in editorials that few read. For example, Karin Pihl’s excellent editorial that I have clipped some parts from.

          https://www.expressen.se/ledare/karin-pihl/nej-greta-thunberg–du-blev-inte-kidnappad/

One of the activists on the boat was, according to German media, present at the funeral of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Hezbollah is an Iran-backed anti-Semitic terrorist militia that has the destruction of the state of Israel as one of its main goals.

But Greta Thunberg brushes it off. “Nothing I have heard,” she told SVT. Nor does she want to comment on Hamas’s role in the conflict.

This is not the first time Thunberg and her movement have failed to stand firm against anti-Semitism.

At the beginning of the war, Fridays for Future accused Western media of being controlled by “imperialist states” brainwashing their readers with Israeli propaganda. This is a classic anti-Semitic notion. At a demonstration in Amsterdam, Thunberg handed over the microphone to a person who praised Hamas terrorism. The chant “from the river to the sea,” implying Israel’s destruction, has been shouted at demonstrations.

Fridays for Future and Thunberg have dutifully distanced themselves from human rights violations and both Islamophobia and anti-Semitism. However, individuals often appear by Thunberg’s side who do not do so.

          ————

Where do you think Greta’s radicalization journey will end?

          1. Lammis watching ruzzian empire go BOOM

Sure, google Zaher Birawi who is pointed out as the mastermind behind the “Freedom Flotilla”. And Thiago รvila who participated is not a novice either.

          2. I don’t think it will end in terrorist attacks and murder.
But you never know, of course.

You judge Greta as I judge Trump.

The difference is that I don’t intend to compare Trump to Hitler, Stalin, or any other dictator until we actually get there. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The oil price has indeed risen, but far from as much as it would have done if Saudi had not opened the taps during the spring.

Saudi and Iran are archenemies in the region, are they involved and have been asked to increase in order to reduce the expected oil price hike in case of an attack?

Israel has no possibility to make a ground invasion in Iran. If that is the goal, only the USA and Saudi Arabia remain to send in troops.

    1. Trump has been pressuring OPEC for a long time to increase production. It started already the last time he was president. It’s an easy way to buy popularity and make people happy since the vast majority are affected and it’s easy to understand and noticed directly in the wallet. The Sweden Democrats and the right did the same thing before the election.

      2019:
      https://www.reuters.com/article/world/uk/trump-calls-for-opec-to-boost-oil-production-says-price-too-high-idUSKCN1R91IX/

      https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/03/business/opec-plus-oil-production-trump.html

He might of course have put extra pressure on them now to dampen the fall.

(So I don’t really believe that the war against Iran is carried out to raise prices and surpass Putin, what I wrote should be seen more as a humorous satire on an alternative reality that it could be).

      1. Westley Richard

Wallet issues are important for most parties that want to be relevant, the idealists who want gasoline to cost 50 SEK and that we should only be allowed to eat meat once a week only gather a handful of votes.

I agree with you that the war is hardly an action to help Putin.

However, we should keep an eye on Saudi, a Saudi that must address its problems and must reform itself. MBS is probably eyeing the UAE and their success, which is not entirely dependent on oil revenues and government employees. Oil won’t last forever and right now they are burning their income on fake jobs and a military buildup to counter the threat from Iran.

      2. Difficult to say what drives Trump the most in this issue. Is it..

        1. Israel’s well-being?

        2. Stop sponsoring terrorist groups around the world?

        3. Increase the price of oil, supporting oil producers like Saudi, Russia, but also the USA, although the price rises for consumers.

        4. Stop Iran’s help to Russia.

I think the fourth one is the least likely, as it would mean a complete change in course since it would imply that the USA actually wants to make it harder for Russia.

Trump only thinks of himself, and fulfilling campaign promises, the latter maybe deserves some credit, if the promises weren’t so absurd. So I lean towards a combination of the first three, with emphasis on 1 and 3.

Overall, actually all points except the third one are positive for the common man.

Israel’s attack on Iran was preceded by years of planning. Among other things, the Israeli security service Mossad reportedly built a drone base near Iran’s capital Tehran, according to Israeli sources cited by Reuters and Times of Israel. The drones were then used to bomb launch pads to make it difficult for Iran to fire missiles at Israel. Israel is also said to have smuggled precision weapon systems into Iran. They are said to have taken out Iran’s air defense, allowing Israeli fighter jets to carry out their bombings undisturbed, according to Times of Israel’s source.

There are similarities with Ukraine’s attack on the Russian air bases.

Israel knocked out much of Syria’s air force and air defense when Assad fell, it should be quite safe for them to fly there.

In the past few days, the Russian advance in the Sumy region has stopped, likely because they have run into Ukrainian engineering fortifications, which are built along a line 8โ€“10 km from the border. “They are trying to extend their attacks to the Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions but 50,000 troops is far too few to achieve such an ambitious goal. Now they are wandering around there, trying to break our resistance. Their attempts to enter the Dnipropetrovsk region are just a byproduct of the processes taking place to the west and southwest of Pokrovsk.” In the past few days, the Russian advance in the Sumy region has stopped, likely because they have run into Ukrainian engineering fortifications, which are built along a line 8โ€“10 km from the state border

Vladyslav Selezniov, military expert and former spokesperson of the Ukrainian General Staff, said this on Espreso TV.

He believes that this summer, Russia will try to implement the plan of creating a ‘buffer zone’ in the territory of Sumy region.

“In case of success, they will try to extend these processes to the Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions. I have my doubts about this, because 50,000 troops is far too few to achieve such an ambitious goal. Moreover, Ukrainian forces are not lagging behindโ€”they are conducting certain operations on Russian border territory, particularly in the settlement of Tyotkino. The coming weeks will be very telling in terms of what the enemy is capable of. In the past few days, the Russian advance in the Sumy region has stopped. I suspect they have run into our engineering fortifications, which are built along a line 8โ€“10 km from the state border. Now they are wandering around there, trying to break our resistance,” Selezniov noted.

In the expertโ€™s opinion, Russia will focus its efforts this summer specifically on the territory of Donetsk region.

Kashirin This is how Israel works. A missile strike was launched directly into a residential building. Even the windows were intact. The strike was aimed right at the bedroom of a member of the Iranian General Staff. That is, they literally hit the man in the forehead with a missile. The rest of the residents of the building got off with a slight fright. Zero civilian casualties.
