“Russia: Novokuybyshevsk Catalysts Plant in Samara region struck by Ukrainian drones. The factory produces chemicals used in oil refining and petrochemical production.”

  4. 🔥It’s hot again in Engels. There’s a new fire at the “Krystal” oil depot

Another fuel tank caught fire. The whole city is in smoke, locals complain of suffocation. Let me remind you that on the night of June 6, explosions were heard at the enterprise. The fire was so powerful that rescuers could not put it out for three days.

The plant stores various types of fuel, including aviation fuel. It powers not only Engels’ military infrastructure, but also Russia’s long-range aviation in general. This is the third strike on this facility since the beginning of the year.

  5. ‘At a critical time’ — Zelensky appoints new head of Ukraine’s mission to NATO. The appointment came “at a critical time for the future of Ukraine, for the future of NATO itself, and, of course, for Ukraine’s future in NATO. I realize the responsibility,” Aliona Hetmanchuk said on her Facebook page on June 13.

Hetmanchuk is a leading Ukrainian foreign policy expert with a background in journalism. She is the founder and director of the New Europe Center and a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center.

The irreversible path of Ukraine into NATO is there, and it is my assumption that it is still there after the summit,” Rutte said at Chatham House in London.

Rutte’s comments follow reporting that this year’s summit communique, set for release after the June 24–25 meeting, may exclude references to Ukraine.

    1. The Ukrainians are too fast! MXT AB can’t quite keep up!

One of the products with the working title “MXT Honey bee” was intended specifically to knock out Shaheds.
      (Shahed means honey).

  6. “Russia launched at least 5 strikes on Zaporizhzhia using 14 Shahed drones. Civilian infrastructure, vehicles, residential buildings, and a humanitarian facility were damaged. Two police officers were injured, reports regional head Ivan Fedorov.”

  7. Operators of the 210th separate assault regiment “hacked” the video channel of the Russian drone. After that, drone strike Russian control point.

Two deputy commanders in the Iranian army’s general staff have been killed in Israeli attacks, reports Reuters. Military officials tell Iran’s state news agency that the country’s attacks on Israel will continue and expand to include American bases in the region in the coming days, according to Reuters.

Good luck when facing US retaliation!

    1. Hm, they probably had a bit of bad luck with their thinking there. As if fighting against Israel wasn’t enough.

They can see how well it went for their neighbor when they fought against the USA.

  9. Darth Putin:

The official Tankie guide to Israel-Iran war in 10 rules.

    1. Being attacked by a nuclear power no longer means you should surrender immediately.

    2. There is no need to trade land for peace, pledge neutrality and disarm after electing a government that the attacker approves of.

    3. A massing of the attacking country’s forces in its own territory, or in an international waters, is absolutely a threat. News which reports such is to be believed immediately, even if it is CNN

    4. This is “not fake news made up by state controlled media to sell more Russian weapons to Iran”. See point 3.

    5. Defending yourself is not an escalation. Attacking the nuclear power’s own territory is justified and does not cross a critical red line that probably triggers a nuclear threshold ad infinitum.

    6. Someone please point Prez to an analyst from “Soros funded CIA propaganda outlet” who said there was no chance Israel would attack Iran and who is now explaining why it was inevitable.

    7. Anyone who said that Israel would attack Iran is not a MSM warmongering shill but a serious analyst to be beleived. Related to point 6

    8. Giving anti aircraft weapons is now not an escalation. See point 2. Russia’s only seem to work on civilians aircraft anyway

    9. We now have to oppose a nuclear armed country run by far right headbangers who use bizarre interpretations of history to claim they own someone else’s land. Previously we appeased that.

    10. Whatabout (insert your favourite false equivalence) Essential tool to manage the pain caused by the two sides of our morally inconsistent brains meeting each other for the first time.

  10. This reminds me of when Gudrun Schyman was involved in starting the Feminist Initiative. I am in favor of gender equality, so one of their fundamental ideas was probably on the right side, but I don’t care much for the party as such.

I hope that this party achieves the same fantastic success, so we don’t have to see them struggle to pass the four percent threshold!

Although we have democracy, it wouldn’t surprise me if quite a few Sweden Democrats and similar-minded people still end up voting for this misery.

“The former Sweden Democrat Member of Parliament Elsa Widding is starting a new party, reports Altinget.

The party will be called Sweden First [oh, so unique, but I feel like I’ve heard that before?] and according to a preliminary party program that Altinget has seen, the key issues seem to include reducing the EU’s supranational control and protecting individual freedom from the state.

Elsa Widding was elected to parliament for the Sweden Democrats in 2022 and immediately caused consternation when she claimed in a debate in the parliamentary chamber that there was no evidence of a climate crisis and that it is “positive that it is getting warmer.”

We do not need more parties, rather fewer. Perhaps it’s time to introduce smaller constituencies where the winner takes it all, as in many other countries; they manage this without being considered undemocratic.

      1. Since the system works so well, as in the USA.

Less sarcastically, I imagine a combination of systems. Where half of the seats are filled by “winner takes all” and half are compensatory mandates. Each member must represent a party, each voter chooses a candidate and a party (doesn’t have to be the same). For example, I might think that a certain Social Democrat would best represent my constituency and is lacking even if I don’t agree with the tax policy, and therefore check this person, but want the Moderates to have a chance at the compensatory mandates.

      1. Westley Richard

        Yes, she seems rather confused.

Even the link where she is referred to as a climate skeptic shows that she does not receive any support from the mainstream media. She will either be silenced or ridiculed in the media.

  11. That Israel attacked Iran makes further nuclear energy talks with the USA meaningless, according to a spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as reported by Iranian state-controlled TV. This is reported by TT.

Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei does not explain the talks as completely terminated.

    – It is still unclear what we decide to do with the talks on Sunday, he says according to the news agency.

  12. There is no doubt that Iran’s long-term goal is to annihilate Israel and that Iranian nuclear weapons are therefore an existential threat to all Israelis.
However, what cannot be questioned is the immense competence of the Israeli security service and military, both strategically and operationally.
Why is this precision and strategic competence not applied in Gaza? Why do the bullets hit hospitals and starving people in breadlines instead of Hamas leaders?

    1. Westley Richard

Even this on DN news that contradicts the editorial. They can blame the fact that editors are rarely objective and that their news is rarely source-critical 😂

The Israeli attack had a clear focus on military leaders and nuclear scientists, many of whom have now been killed. Iranian state media reported on Saturday that Mehrabad Airport in Tehran had been attacked, specifically a hangar with military aircraft. In addition, it is reported that Israel has shelled a refinery in northern Iran and a residential building in Tehran where around 60 people have been killed, including 20 children.

  13. The support for Iran is now underway – it is indisputable that Iran is trying to acquire nuclear weapons and they delay until they have them, and then they have them.

Israel is a very small country and the threat from nuclear weapons is existential.

It may well happen that Russia will provide support in the future, but it is difficult not to see the relevance in combating it.

Iran was behind Hamas and Hezbollah, so there are fully legitimate reasons to try to take down the mullah power.

Russia has quite neatly connected Gaza – Israel – Iran through its groups in the West, so expect wild demonstrations against the mullah dictatorship.

    1. I have no idea who will demonstrate for the mullahs. Possibly the “white/Swedish” left 🟥, but that’s just to express hatred towards the USA 🇺🇸 and Israel 🇮🇱. The Iranian diaspora hates the mullahs and often supports Israel (I know several in that category myself). Arab Palestinian activists are Sunni Muslims (with a small shard of Christians), Shiites (like the mullahs) are considered the dirtiest in their world.

  14. “Ukrainian intelligence drone operators destroyed multiple high-value Russian air defense systems in occupied Zaporizhzhia: a Buk-M3 SAM, a 9S19 “Imbir” radar (S-300V), and a Pantsir-S1 system.”

The Swedish media takes a not entirely unexpected approach and complains that Trump’s parade affects the climate 😲

They have never taken this angle when Putin has his parade or when he wages his aggression war against Ukraine.

The massive American military parade tonight will produce approximately 2 million kilograms of carbon dioxide, about the same amount as 300 homes produce in a year. This is shown in a report from the progressive think tank Institute for Policy Studies and The Guardian. It is President Donald Trump who has decided to organize the parade to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American military. Around 150 military vehicles and 50 fighter jets will participate, and they are estimated to burn several hundred liters of fuel per hour.

What do you think? Does Iran dare to stir up a hornet’s nest?

Iran is dependent on being able to export oil to China through that route, so they probably wouldn’t think it’s such a brilliant idea.

Attacking ships in the Hormuz would involve the rest of the Arab world that is dependent on the strait, as well as a large part of the world that is dependent on oil.

This could lead to a ground invasion in Iran, something Israel itself is not capable of.

Iran is considering closing the Strait of Hormuz, but what would that mean for Europe and what is at stake if it happens?

Britain is happy to take on the mullahs.
Time for a coalition of the willing?

Britain is moving forces to the Middle East, including military aircraft, due to the violence, according to Prime Minister Keir Starmer, whose Foreign Minister David Lammy is reported to have been in contact with Iran.

    – Our constant message is de-escalation, and therefore everything we do, all discussions we have, are about de-escalation, says Starmer.

Starmer further states that he does not rule out defending Israel against Iranian attacks, despite Iranian threats of retaliation against British bases if London decides to support Israel, according to The Guardian.
