  1. Israel – Iran
It is still unclear whether the USA will enter the war on Israel’s side. Nevertheless, preparations seem to have begun in case something happens over the weekend. Trump’s decision is likely influenced by the fact that most Americans (including MAGA supporters) do not want the USA to get involved in the war. He has had a tougher rhetoric lately; if he backs down, he will be seen as cowardly by the international community, but if he proceeds, he will face opposition from the American population. In the meantime, Israel continues its course.

“The regime in Russia is starting to get nervous after Donald Trump opened up the possibility of attacking targets in Iran. Ivor Bennett writes in an analysis on Sky News. Russia has a close collaboration with Iran, which has strengthened since the invasion of Ukraine.

Initially, the Kremlin saw the conflicts in Iran as an opportunity, according to Bennett. If Putin had managed to convince Iran to lay down its arms and instead negotiate with the USA, he could have later asked Trump for a favor related to the conflicts in Ukraine.”

“Vladimir Putin believes there is a possibility to end the conflicts between Israel and Iran. During a press conference on Wednesday evening, the Russian president stated that he believes a solution can be found that guarantees both Israel’s security and Iran’s aspirations for a nuclear energy program.

“This is a sensitive issue, and we must, of course, be very cautious, but in my opinion, a solution can be found,” he said according to AFP.”

“A majority of Donald Trump’s supporters are against the USA getting involved in the war between Israel and Iran. An Economist/Yougov survey reported by The Guardian shows that 53% of Trump’s supporters believe the USA should stay out, while 19% are in favor of American participation. At the same time, 63% of Trump’s supporters believe the USA should negotiate with Iran regarding its nuclear energy program.”

“Reports: Trump approves attack plans against Iran but delays decision
The president has not yet made a final decision on the matter. He wants to wait and see if Iran agrees to dismantle its nuclear energy program, according to the reports.

After the meeting with advisors at the White House, the president openly discussed the possibility of an attack.

“I have ideas about what to do but have not made a final decision,” he said on Wednesday.”

“During the night, a new wave of Israeli attacks on targets in Tehran and other parts of Iran has begun, according to the Israeli military as reported by TT. Israel has urged people living near the heavy water facility in Arak to evacuate.

Heavy water is used in civilian nuclear power, but when a heavy water reactor is in operation, plutonium is sometimes formed, which can be used in the production of nuclear weapons.”

“High-ranking officials in the USA are preparing for a possible American attack on Iran in the coming days, reports Bloomberg citing sources with insight.

According to some sources, signs point to an attack over the weekend, but they also emphasize that the situation could still change.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday evening that President Donald Trump has approved an attack plan but has not decided if and when the attack will take place.”

  2. 58 KAB is unusually low, otherwise normal levels.

AFU: “In total, 163 combat clashes were recorded during the past day.

According to detailed information, yesterday the zagarbniki carried out 40 aviation strikes on the territory of Ukraine, dropped 58 controlled aviation bombs. In addition, 3269 kamikaze drones were recruited to strike and carried out 5111 shelling positions of our troops and settlements, including 99 from the reactive systems of salp fire.”

    1. 👍 A bit lower, but within the normal range.

Interesting that DeepStateMap never reported anything yesterday. Hope it’s because Ukraine has achieved some kind of success and not the other way around.

      1. In the Kramatorsk sector, 15 firefights were recorded in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bila Hora, Kurdyumivka, Predtechine, Novomarkove, Bondarne and Stupochky.

An increase. Near attacks you noticed in the neighboring sector Toretsk yesterday.

  4. Another former ally of Donald Trump is now becoming vocal in his criticism of the president’s potential attack on Iran.

Steve Bannon, chief strategist in Trump’s previous administration, tells the Financial Times that Israel “must finish what they started” and that it is up to them.

  5. “Putin has failed to attract western companies to an economic conference in St Petersburg this week. Even Russia’s allies sent lower-ranking officials and businessmen, with the exception of Indonesia, whose president is in attendance.”

  6. “Putin träffade ledarna för stora internationella nyhetsbyråer. I intervjun hävdade han att den 17 juni missilattacken mot Kyiv riktade sig mot “fabriker som producerar militär utrustning”. Han sa att en ny omgång samtal med Ukraina kunde äga rum efter den 22 juni och förnekade alla planer på att attackera NATO.”

  7. Swedish domestic politics
We’ll see if she can keep them above 4%.

“Simona Mohamsson is proposed to become the new party leader for the Liberals, announces the election committee in a press release. Mohamsson is currently the party secretary.

    – Now we have reached our goal, says the chairman of the election committee, Lars Persson Skandevall, at a press conference.

He says that the election committee has been looking for a leader who understands the party and can lead it in the upcoming election.”
    https://omni.se/mohamsson-foreslas-ta-over-l/a/EyPMa5

    1. “The nomination committee’s proposal to nominate party secretary Simona Mohamsson as the new leader of the Liberal Party is met with internal criticism even before it has been officially presented, reports TV4 News.

Several informants say they are worried about Mohamsson’s lack of experience and that she lacks roots in the party. She is also considered to be too far left and to be ‘woke’.”
      https://omni.se/kallor-internt-missnoje-med-mohamsson-for-vanster/a/Jb95w7

      1. Westley Richard

Woke is on the decline in the younger generation according to the daughters, but of course the Liberals think they have found a perfect innovator who stands for what is on the decline. They don’t understand that they always have bad luck when they think.

        1. I think Woke is a ridiculous term overall today as it is now mostly used in a diminishing way in all possible contexts even though there is no longer a clear definition.

          Are young people today racists?
Do they think homosexuality should be banned?
          Do they appreciate sexual harassment?
          Are they perhaps against equality?
Are they afraid of not being able to say what they think because they risk being affected by online hate?
Or is it just that they think many people today are easily offended and can’t take a joke?
Or do they just want to avoid caring about difficult issues in society and not be “woke”?

          1. Westley Richard

            https://omni.se/a/kw9yQ6

This is what young women look up to now, they have been fed so much woke in school that they are starting to revolt. This pop star has dared to challenge the establishment and more influencers will follow. This is how our society works, when something has leaned too much in one direction, a provocative reaction will come, especially among the younger population. Us older white men just look on in wonder, wondering if we will get shit for this too, just like everything else.

            1. Well, of course, there are always reactions to most things. Usually about every tenth year. But when it comes to “woke,” the expression has been watered down, so the question is whether the young people themselves even have a homogeneous view of what it means.

Oh, now you’re “woke” if you feel targeted and think you get shit for everything! 😀

                1. Agree, maybe the meaning of racist hasn’t changed in the same way, but the line has been blurred. It’s enough to think that immigration needs to be limited to be called that.

Anyone who thinks that Israel has the right to defend itself is a racist and apparently wants to kill all Palestinians.

But the same thing has happened with anti-Semite.
If you think that Israel needs to proceed more cautiously in Palestine, you are an anti-Semite and want to kill all Jews.

It’s the constant polarization that makes everything have to be extremely black or white, and the other side is always so incredibly horrible and disgusting (or terribly stupid, etc.).

Regardless of what it is, the few who try to find a middle ground or think that both sides are partly right are attacked from both sides.

It’s also noticeable among the political parties, those in the middle are living a dwindling existence.

Where did the golden middle way go? 😀

Even though Mohamsson belongs to the party’s left-wing faction, her selection will not be a sign of a shift to the left – it’s a matter of desperation. This is written by Expressen’s editorial writer Karin Pihl. “It’s not three o’clock in the morning desperation, it’s more like five fifteen in the kebab queue level,” writes Pihl. 😂

  10. Putin under pressure from hardliners to declare all-out war on Ukraine  following Operation Spiderweb, Telegraph reports.Russia’s hardline nationalist elite reportedly argues that only a formal war declaration would permit true escalation—full-scale mobilisation, regular missile strikes, and potentially the use of tactical nuclear weapons.
    https://kyivindependent.com/putin-under-pressure-from-hardliners-to-declare-all-out-war-on-ukraine-following-operation-spiderweb-telegraph-reports/

    1. Let’s see if he finally dares to declare war…
Maybe the Russian people have been marinated enough in propaganda now so that they stand behind it.

      1. Good question! 😀

They are well and imagine that Russia is not waging a real war yet, but that it’s just some kind of nice SMO where they do everything to protect the civilian population.

        1. Ah ok, it was probably me who led the thought astray. I was thinking regular as in common. But it should probably be like in consistent. And just like you can say consistent and consistently, you can also say regular and regularly.

    1. Understand if Zelenskyy starts to get tired of TACO-Trump. Trump didn’t dare to meet him at the G7.
He knows that he has betrayed Ukraine but he surely doesn’t have the backbone to meet Zelenskyy face to face and even less to say it straight out.

      1. One may wonder… While Trump deviated from the G7, Zelensky was there to meet Trump and was far from Ukraine. At the same time, Russia staged one of the worst terrorist attacks in the war against Kyiv.

  11. It will be really interesting to see how Trump deals with Iran. If the US gets involved there, all his arguments that the US should stay out of wars they are not involved in will fall apart.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s just waiting for an Iranian robot to kill an American so he can use it as an excuse.

  12. Good that they are starting to unravel the Russian spy network. Hopefully, they also share information between countries to facilitate tracking down and stopping them.

  13. “We don’t care who we negotiate with. I’m even ready to meet. But when it comes to the final stage… the signature must come from a legitimate authority,” Putin says.”

    1. Extra funny that he actually just says that sports go slowly.. Not women’s sports.
But maybe it was because the only athletes in the audience were women? 🤔

  14. Volvo trucks/Scania may produce 250-300 trucks per day!
Losing over 100 vehicles per day is a significant loss!

Right? How sustainable can this be?

      1. Westley Richard

There you are onto something, all major turning points come when the Social Democrats change position, which surely is because they have control over the media.

        1. Or it may be because it is S who has made the U-turns to what M thought. And then suddenly there is a stable majority. Not everything is a plot and conspiracies all the time. When did M last make a U-turn to what S thinks?

  15. Then he should reasonably also want to see Putin fold?
Let’s hope that the war will soon be over so they can help Ukraine pick him up.

(Then one can of course wonder how he reasons when it comes to the hospitals that Israel has taken out in Palestine?
Although there were probably only HAMAS supporters there…)

“Iran’s attack on the Soroka hospital in southern Israel evokes strong emotions. Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz visited the hospital on Thursday and from the devastation he called Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, “modern Hitler”.

In response to the question of whether it is part of Israel’s war goal to kill Khamenei, Katz replied that the goal is to eliminate the nuclear threat and neutralize the threat of missiles.

    – Within this framework, the IDF has been given instructions and knows that in order to achieve all goals, there is no doubt that this man should no longer be allowed to exist.”

The Russian economy is on the brink of a recession. That’s according to the country’s Minister of Economy Maxim Reshetnikov in a statement at the Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, as reported by Reuters. Earlier in June, Russia lowered interest rates for the first time since the year of the invasion in 2022, but for several months, companies have been complaining that high interest rates are stifling investments and that growth has begun to falter. Reshetnikov notes that the macro data points to a “cooling off,” but also emphasizes that they are always backward-looking. – The current sentiment among companies and indicators suggest that we are on the verge of a recession.

Now I couldn’t find the link in the joy 😀😀

  18. Hope it happens and that the agreement is upheld.

“After a decades-long conflict between Rwanda and Congo-Kinshasa, the two countries are expected to sign a peace agreement on June 27. This is reported by AP.

In January, the conflict escalated when the rebel force M23 invaded eastern Congo-Kinshasa with the support of 4,000 Rwandan soldiers. Rwanda has long been accused by Congo-Kinshasa of supporting M23.

Since then, millions of people have been displaced from their homes and the UN is investigating several war crimes in the region.”

  19. Spain is one of the countries that contributes the least to Ukraine (% of GDP) and now contradicts expanding the defense budget as well. Of course, they are far from Russia and count on being able to manage on their own.

“Spain will oppose NATO plans to raise the target for members’ defense spending to 5% of GDP, potentially setting up a clash with Trump, – Bloomberg 🚫 Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez told Mark Rutte in a letter that he would oppose the new spending proposal.”

      1. Both countries have actually made some efforts:

        Portugal

        • Portugal helped Spain against Napoleon in the 19th century when they fought in, among other places, France and the Netherlands.
        • They sent a hospital ship during the Korean War
        • In Iraq, they helped with police and security personnel
        • In Mali, they have some special forces on site

Of course, they have also fought in some other African countries, but then it was to try to retain their colonies so that doesn’t count.

        Spain:

        • Sent volunteer pilots to Finland during the Winter War
        • Sent the Blue Division (about 47,000 men) to fight alongside Germany against the Soviet Union
        • In Afghanistan, they participated with troops under NATO
        • In the aftermath in Iraq, they participated with 1300 soldiers
        • Lebanon, peacekeeping troops
        • In Mali, Spanish forces are part of the EU’s military training mission.

They fought in France against France, but that was for their own sake.

  20. “Åtta häktade i Slovakien misstänkta för 7,4 miljoner euro militärstöld till Ukraina Europeiska åklagare misstänker manipulerade upphandlingar och överprissatt ammunition. Fyra försvarsministeriets anställda är bland de som är frihetsberövade.”

  21. “Russian soldiers inspect the aftermath of a strike on a Russian convoy with infantry fighting vehicles, a truck with a 152mm self-propelled gun, and a buggy in the Kherson region.”

  22. China’s Xi Jinping condemned Israel’s attacks on Iran during a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, reports CNN. In what is interpreted as a call to the USA, Xi says that the international community, “especially major powers” with influence in the conflict, should try to de-escalate the situation and not the other way around.

“The parties to the conflict, especially Israel, should immediately cease fire,” he said in a statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

    1. Of course there will be negative consequences, for RU!
If you lose the mullahs, you won’t have either the time, energy, or desire to help anyone else. It will be just as hellish as in Iraq or Syria.

RU will not only lose an ally but also the ability to intimidate with Iran’s nuclear weapons.

  23. I quickly checked the statistics and there haven’t been many visits here this afternoon.
I wonder if most people have slipped away earlier today to prepare for Midsummer and are currently standing in line at the liquor store! 😂

Damn, by the way, I ended up without Nemiroff, it seems to have been discontinued and I forgot to pre-order Obolon now that you have to do it again. 😭

  24. “Over the past 24 hours, only 65 percent of the robots fired from Iran have been shot down by the Israeli air defense, according to a source within the Israeli intelligence service for NBC News. This is significantly fewer than the day before, when around 90 percent of the robots could be shot down. Iran still has very advanced robots, and they make sure to use them, says the source.”

  25. 🔥 Ukrainian drones destroyed and burned down hangars with Russian military equipment in the village of Shyshivka in the Donetsk region.

  26. “Trump slams Fox News for what he calls “fake and biased polls” and claims he won by a larger margin than reported. He criticizes their polling firm, despite praising Fox News anchors, and insists the margin is “perfect” according to his policies.”

  27. We’ve heard that about two weeks before! 😂

“Donald Trump will decide on a possible attack against Iran within two weeks, the White House reports according to Reuters.”

  28. Swedish Coast Guard’s Facebook account yesterday:

“We want to warn about unusually high GPS interference (GNSS) now. It is most common in the southeastern part of Sweden, from the southern coast of Skåne up towards the Stockholm archipelago.

We at the Coast Guard always have paper sea charts with us at sea. Do you have them in your leisure boat?

Never rely solely on electronic devices. Take bearings and distances to fixed objects.”
