  1. Slightly fewer clashes and quite a few KAB.

AFU: “In total, 142 combat clashes were recorded during the past day.

According to the information, yesterday the enemy launched four missiles and 63 aerial strikes, used ten missiles and dropped 76 controlled aerial bombs. In addition, carried out 6132 shelling, including 118 – from jet systems of salpovogo fire, and involved 3416 kamikaze drones for impact.”
  2. “Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has spoken out for the first time since the US attack on the country’s nuclear facilities overnight on Sunday.

“The Zionist enemy has made a big mistake, committed a great crime, and he must be punished,” he writes on his official account on X.

He also shares an image showing fire falling over a skull with the Star of David engraved on the forehead.

Iran has promised to respond to the US attacks, but it is still unclear how.”

  3. Ukraine has evidence that Russia is “preparing new military operations on European soil,” Volodymyr Zelensky writes on Telegram.

“We will inform our partners about the facts that our intelligence service has obtained,” the president writes, but does not provide any further details.

  4. Donald Trump dismisses speculations that the American attacks on nuclear facilities in Iran failed to knock them out.

“Monumental damage to all nuclear facilities in Iran, as satellite images show. Annihilation is the right word!” Donald Trump writes on Truth social.

Satellite images of the Fordow facility, taken after the attack, show several holes in the ground believed to be where the “bunker-busting” bombs hit. However, no clear damage is visible on the part of the facility above ground.

    1. Some various information

      – Iran has driven away everything on trucks (should be easy targets)

      -no visible damages.

      -USA says the entrances collapsed.

Guessing that the entry-exit are permanently closed and then it’s presumably over?

      1. It’s all just speculation. I don’t know how deep it was.
With those bombs, even if they didn’t reach all the way down but just destroyed the entrances, it will take a few years to dig down again (and it will also be visible in that case).

Of course, Iran may have arranged some hidden emergency exit (which is not normally used and therefore not easy to detect) or they may have managed to move the plutonium. But even if they moved it, they shouldn’t have any facilities left for further processing, so if they did have a nuclear weapons program, it probably set them back 10 years.

Then, of course, they can resort to dirty bombs if they want to spread terror.

      2. Westley Richard

Israel dominates the airspace and, together with the USA, has had the area under constant surveillance. It does not seem likely that Iran could have driven in and out of the facility with trucks.

  5. Crude Oil (WTI) that I usually keep an eye on hasn’t moved much yet, currently at 74.9 but trading probably hasn’t really started yet:
    https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/crude-oil

“The oil price rose almost 6 percent as the week’s trading began at midnight. Shortly after opening, North Sea oil cost just over 81 dollars per barrel, according to Bloomberg.

The increase comes in the wake of the American bombing of Iran on Sunday morning. Iran has responded with threats to close the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

    – This could put us on a path towards 100 dollars, says MST analyst Saul Kavonic.”
    https://omni.se/just-nu-marknaden-oppen-oljan-rusar-5-procent/a/pPR7mE

    1. “If Iran were to make its threat to close the Strait of Hormuz a reality, it could lead to significantly higher oil prices, reports Bloomberg.

Muyu Xu, senior oil analyst at Kepler, says that oil prices could temporarily reach up to $150 per barrel even if the closure were temporary.

      – And if larger oil production or export facilities in neighboring countries are attacked, it could drive prices even higher and for a longer period of time.”
      https://omni.se/analytiker-kan-na-150-dollar-aven-vid-tillfallig-stangning/a/4B450q

  6. “US Secretary of State Marco Rubio urges China to prevent Iran from closing the Strait of Hormuz. CNBC reports.

    – I urge the Chinese government in Beijing to call them about it, as they are heavily dependent on the Strait of Hormuz for their oil, he says in an interview with Fox News.”

      1. Smart to kick the ball into China’s half of the field.

If they ignore it and let Iran close, they can’t say they weren’t warned and blame someone else when the economy goes down even further.

If they make sure to keep it open, it could lead to a betrayal debate and Iran will feel even more isolated, even Russia will wonder where they stand with China.

  7. I wonder if the best thing would actually be if all media completely ignored that fool. I hesitated if I should even post this.

“The USA’s attacks on Iran have initiated the third world war. This is claimed by the Russian ideologist Alexandr Dugin in a chronicle published by the Russian state news agency Ria Novosti.

According to Dugin, the attacks on nuclear facilities show that the international community no longer can prevent attacks that could potentially lead to nuclear disasters and that nuclear weapons no longer have a deterrent effect. In the long run, this will lead to the weapons being used in wars, according to Dugin.

“So many red lines have been crossed that it is unclear if any are left,” he writes.”
    https://omni.se/putins-hjarna-usa-har-inlett-tredje-varldskriget/a/GyEoMq

    1. DN quotes Hamas condemning the attack and Russia screams about human rights violations.

The regime in Iran sheds crocodile tears and politicians and experts in the West condemn everything they can.

We are in a war and there was nothing wrong with the attack – rather the first sensible thing Trump has done since January 20th.

      1. Oh. now you’re exaggerating, there have surely been very many who think the attack was good and that it stops Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons?

      1. Yes, it is him, at the same time one must listen to the enemy in order to understand him.
But as I wrote, when it comes to Dugin, I’m damn skeptical.

    1. Well, then I commented again when I saw that the plans that were sent first were just a diversionary tactic.

(Then honestly, I didn’t really understand what you meant in your post when you wrote about being sent home, but there was never an explanation then.)

  8. Swedish domestic politics
“In a new opinion poll from SvD/Demoskop, 38 percent of Swedes say they have quite or very high confidence in the leader of the Sweden Democrats, Jimmie Åkesson. This means that Åkesson has higher confidence than Ulf Kristersson (M).

36 percent of Swedes say they have quite or very high confidence in the Prime Minister, which is a decrease of 2 percentage points compared to a year ago and 4 percentage points compared to May this year.

The leader with the highest confidence of all party leaders is Magdalena Andersson, with 44 percent saying they have quite or very high confidence in the leader of the Social Democrats.”
    https://omni.se/fler-har-fortroende-for-akesson-an-for-kristersson/a/yEBQkA

    1. For me completely incomprehensible that one can have such high confidence in Sweden’s most flip-flopping party and party leader.
On the other hand, there is not a huge difference between 36 and 44%, seems like we have a pretty low confidence in politicians in general.

    2. Westley Richard

If you want to win new voters, you should ideally have significantly higher trust among those who vote for other parties than you have among your core voters. Maggan is in a precarious position compared to Jimmie and Uffe.

  9. “It is beginning to dawn on Iran’s leaders that they are standing alone in the ongoing conflict with Israel and the USA. This conclusion is drawn by Bloomberg’s experts.

Allies such as Russia and China have remained on the sidelines and so far only provided symbolic support. The militia groups that Iran has financed for many years also do not want to support the country – or they lack the ability to do so.

    – Iran is facing its biggest military test in decades but help from Moscow or Beijing is unlikely, says Middle East analyst Dina Esfandiary.”

  10. The Swedish gang leader Rawa Majid has been pressured to carry out new attacks against Israeli or American targets since last weekend’s Israeli attacks on Iran, according to information provided to SVT’s Uppdrag granskning.

According to the information, his network Foxtrot is actively seeking individuals who can carry out attacks in Sweden, Denmark, and Germany.

There have long been reports that Majid is colluding with the Iranian regime, an assessment shared by, among others, the Israeli intelligence service Mossad. Uppdrag granskning has been able to link the Foxtrot network to at least seven attacks against Israeli interests in Sweden, Denmark, and Belgium.

  11. “Development of 🇺🇦Ukrainian missiles for NASAMS air defense system will be financed by 🇳🇴Norway – Ukrainian Defense Minister Umerov”

    1. “SMHI has issued a yellow warning for torrential rain in northeastern Götaland and the inner parts of Svealand during Monday evening.

In a short period of time, up to 50 millimeters can fall locally. ”Flooding may occur in places such as basements and stormwater systems”, writes SMHI.

Örebro, Norrköping, Linköping, Eskilstuna, Västerås, and Falun are examples of places that may be affected as the rain moves in.”
      https://omni.se/skyfallsliknande-regn-pa-ingang-smhi-varnar/a/zABdRv

  12. The USA’s attack on Iranian nuclear facilities is the focus of several of today’s editorial pages. SvD’s political editor-in-chief Tove Lifvendahl writes that the main problem is not Donald Trump’s unpredictability, but the Iranian regime.

“An Iran with the capacity to launch long-range nuclear weapons is not a world anyone wants to live in, least of all its neighbors,” Lifvendahl writes.

  13. Westley Richard

Watching the voting a bit and seeing that 80 people believe that Israel will win the war and that 3 people believe that Iran will win.
The fact is that the Arabs have not won a war against a Western country since the battle of Hattin where the Crusaders were defeated at the Sea of Galilee by the feared Saladin.
Arab culture was very successful and much more advanced with prominent scientists and doctors performing quite complex operations. Since then, things have gone downhill and there are few prominent Arab scientists or any prominent companies started in the Middle East.

Some of this is probably linked to their philosophy of life where “Inshallah” (if God wills) is something they believe in a lot. American soldiers who were supposed to train new soldiers had trouble teaching the Iranian soldiers how to aim, they held the rifles somewhat randomly and argued that it was Allah who decided whether the bullet would hit or not so they didn’t need to make an effort.
So maybe, if one believes that Allah controls all events, it may not be worth making an effort which affects the whole society.
Many Arabs are of course smarter than that but many are still fed with this in the Quran school.

    1. These countries were quite well functioning until before the Islamic revolutions swept over them, right?

Dubai, which has managed to navigate the whole period, is doing quite well.

Could there be a final outburst in the region, and then one starts thinking about normalizing the situation with Israel, wouldn’t that be a bad idea?

More countries than not seem to want this to end now, I have come to believe.

      1. Westley Richard

Functional but not innovative. Dubai is trying to create an economy that can survive without relying on oil, Saudi Arabia is loosening its grip on religion while Iran and Afghanistan continue to descend into religious darkness, the other Arab countries are standing still.

Not everyone can replicate Dubai, there are not enough millionaires for all Arab countries to build their economy on them, definitely not when the oil money runs out.

  14. “US attacks on Iran weigh on the stock market – Saab among the losers

The stock market starts the week with declines after the US attacked Iranian nuclear facilities during the Midsummer weekend. After just over 20 minutes of trading, the indexes stand as follows:

    • OMXSPI: -0.5%
    • OMXS30: -0.6%

Saab falls around 1 percent at the bottom of the large-cap index after Citi downgraded the defense giant’s stock from buy to sell.”

      1. It’s probably not due to the world situation but to this:

SAAB Kockums plans a 120-meter version of the Visby class but risks losing the contract to France with the risk of Kockums being shut down:

“Sweden Considers French Defense Frigates to Strengthen Naval Power in Baltic Sea.
The intensification of strategic ties between France and Sweden recently materialized in a new step forward in their bilateral military cooperation. During the Paris Air Show, French Armed Forces Minister Sébastien Lecornu and his Swedish counterpart Pål Jonson signed a roadmap outlining future collaborative efforts in several key areas.”
        https://armyrecognition.com/news/navy-news/2025/sweden-considers-french-defense-frigates-to-strengthen-naval-power-in-baltic-sea

        1. Westley Richard

Sounds like a brilliant idea to shut down the defense industry now when the need is so low and we are heading towards the long eternal peace. 😲

The demand in Europe is minimal.

          1. But they were supposed to be able to sell surveillance planes to France!

Then I actually think it seems quite sensible to buy from France considering what a hassle it seems to have been to find a Swedish solution.

  15. “Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has landed in Russia and will meet Vladimir Putin today to discuss the US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.

This is reported by Iranian state media, which has also published pictures of Araqchi disembarking from a plane at an unknown location in Russia.

‘We will coordinate our positions regarding the ongoing escalation,’ Araqchi said in a statement.”

  16. The bodies of three Israelis who were taken to Gaza on October 7, 2023, have been found, CNN reports. They are 71-year-old Ofra Keidar, 21-year-old Yonatan Samerano, and soldier Shay Levinson.

They were found during a special operation carried out by the Israel Security Agency (ISA) and IDF. The bodies were then taken to Israel, they stated in a joint message on Saturday.
They were all murdered during a Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, but their bodies were taken to Gaza.

  17. Spain’s Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares will demand that the European Council immediately vote to pause the EU’s trade agreement with Israel. He stated this in a declaration, according to Reuters.

An EU investigation recently confirmed that Israel is likely violating the terms of the so-called concession agreement by violating human rights in Gaza.

  18. “Donald Trump’s trade war is further escalated on Monday as new tariffs on household products such as washing machines, refrigerators, and ovens come into effect. This is reported by Financial Times.

The new tariffs are in addition to the existing 50 percent tariffs on steel imports and certain steel products.

The measure is expected to push up prices for American consumers.”

  19. A lot of pushback against Trump’s mullah-busting efforts even among sensible debaters.

We have long wanted the US to step up in a war, and in Ukraine, it hasn’t worked out with Obama, Trump 1, Biden, Trump 2 – we roughly know why before, and we have a good idea about Trump now.

Iran is de facto at war with the West/us – perhaps it’s enough for them to pay the Kurdish fox to carry out attacks on us for us to cheer when the mullah-busters rain down on Iran?

Iran is also causing trouble for the Kurds, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, and other countries. For example, on October 7th, Iran and Russia were in action with the help of China.

Taking down Iran, which Israel seems to want, is good, very good, not only for the Iranians themselves and the Middle East but also for us.

It’s bad for Russia because they are on the verge of losing an ally in the region, and it’s their last foothold there – geopolitically significant.

I can understand that the entire pro-Russian space has been activated now, but it’s strange that Bildt, Rosenberg, many usually sensible debaters, and others are against this.

Haven’t they realized that we are already at war?

We have become accustomed to the fact that it’s the evil side that is constantly escalating outside the box, but there’s no reason why we can’t do it too.

To keep shouting about international law and human rights when we are at war is a bit strange.

In any case, the Iranians themselves, the 97% who are not part of the leadership, are very grateful for the developments.

There might be a purpose in sending a signal to China here as well, I think?

Russia might also think twice about whether they really want to escalate towards Europe?

Zelensky has proof of it now, he says.

    1. It’s as usual, it’s most important who says it, not what. There isn’t a single person who has spoken out now who would admit that they think Trump did the right thing.

It may be against various laws, etc. but at the same time, one can think it’s right. I agree that it’s double standards to want to increase in UA but to back down in the Middle East. Many have thought that air support, etc. should be provided in UA.

Think of it this way: Now various big shots and others have condemned the whole thing, if Iran were to go all in as a terrorist state, then you have the back to support the USA and a complete eradication of the Mullah mafia. Then you can say that you condemned it and you damn pigs attack us anyway, now you’re going to see heavenly wrath.

  20. Sweden
Can certainly agree that there is a smell of corruption and that something should be done as it seems to be becoming more common.

“S demands stricter rules: “Borderline corruption”

The opposition is critical following Kalla Fakta’s revelation that Minister for International Development Cooperation Benjamin Dousas’ (M) State Secretary Håkan Jevrell owns shares in companies that he himself has favored.

    – These are extremely serious allegations and it is borderline corruption, if it is not already corruption,” says Ida Karkiainen (S), Chair of the Constitutional Committee, to TV4 News.”
    https://omni.se/s-kraver-skarpta-regler-gransen-till-korruption/a/3M8WAX

    1. Westley Richard

Surely one investigates Benjamin Dousa’s state secretary when he has shut off the flow of money from SIDA to the Social Democrats’ campaign organizations.

Ida is probably not as interested in investigating that.

How could aid money go to her election campaign?

      1. Ah, so the terrible mistake that has been made here is that they have had the audacity to scrutinize him?
Not that he has favored companies where he himself owns shares?
So it’s Ida who is actually the main villain and no shadow should fall on Dousa?

        1. Westley Richard

Why should any shadow fall on Dousa? Do you mean that he should review the finances of his subordinates, who are interested in that? Would you think it is your boss’s responsibility to review your finances.

The companies in which the state secretary owns shares are Ericsson, Atlas Copco, Sandvik, and Volvo. What the state secretary says probably affects the stock prices of those companies only marginally by a few crowns.

What do you think the state secretary of the Minister for Foreign Trade should focus on if not promoting Swedish companies?

Do you also think it is wrong that SIDA’s aid has been redirected from the Social Democrats’ affiliated campaign organizations to the children in Ukraine.

That is actually the basis for this frivolous report. The government no longer turns a blind eye when the Social Democrats deceive poor pensioners with lotteries and steal contributions from children for their campaign funds.

          1. Sorry, I meant of course his state secretary and not Dousa himself.

Now it appears that you don’t think it matters because you don’t believe the influence can be particularly significant and you think it’s just fine that they benefit Swedish industry.

I think it’s more relevant to discuss than resorting to whataboutism and trying to make it about SIDA and lottery sales.

Partially agree, when it comes to large companies, at that level, the influence may not be so crucial, but what happens the day it is, and who will decide that?

Isn’t zero tolerance better then, to avoid any questions about potentially exploiting one’s position for personal gain?

            1. Westley Richard

There is a set of rules that government members and their state secretaries are not allowed to participate in decisions where they are shareholders. This has been followed to the letter. Now he is getting shit for promoting large Swedish companies abroad, among them are companies in which he owns shares and he may have influenced the share price enough to earn the wrapping paper for an ice cream cone.

This is just a revenge action from the Social Democrats and not something that taxpayer money should be wasted on investigating since he has not broken any rules.

    2. Carl-Oskar Bohlin sold all his shares before taking office as Minister for Civil Defence. Wise and something everyone in a similar situation should do, perhaps it can be compensated with a slightly higher salary if it becomes difficult to find good people.

Even though I like this government much more than the previous one, you constantly get the impression that they are clumsy and naive. The previous (S-government) was more cunning and calculating.

    1. “According to the TV channel’s sources, the threat is said to have been the reason why Donald Trump left the meeting early.

Iran stated on Monday that they believe the USA has ‘betrayed diplomacy’ by launching an attack while negotiating the country’s nuclear energy program.

‘Neither we nor future generations will forget that Iran was in the midst of a diplomatic process with a country that is now at war with us,’ said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei.”

  21. “Sweden, it’s your time to roll out – Swedish Battalion! The Svenska Battalion is launching its first campaign to deliver a NAFO Truck 2.0 to Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade “SPARTAN”, specifically for the Battalion of Unmanned Systems “BLACK SKY” — the elite drone operators keeping the skies sharp and the frontline protected.
Update 9th of June – we adding one more unit and increasing the goal to 2 trucks.”

    https://www.help99.co/patches/swedish-battalion

      1. Partly it is probably that, then there are many who have left who have been involved in the investigations around Trump, among others around January 6th.

  22. “Israel has attacked the nuclear facility Fordow in Iran on Monday morning, according to Iranian media. They are also said to have hit the university in Tehran, according to a student newspaper.

The aid organization Red Crescent in Iran reports that Israeli shelling has also hit near their building in Tehran.

‘We are currently striking regime targets and state oppressor organs in the heart of Tehran with unprecedented strength,’ says Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz in a statement.”
    https://omni.se/israel-attackerar-sex-iranska-flygbaser/a/eMnbR9

“An Israeli attack has hit the entrance to the notorious Evin prison in Iran, according to state Iranian TV, as reported by AP. The prison houses political prisoners, including the Swedish-Iranian researcher Ahmadreza Djalali.
It is unclear how extensive the damages are.”
    https://omni.se/evinfangelset-traffat-i-israelisk-attack-pa-iran/a/o3gdVg

    1. Hmm, I honestly thought that all old comments would also get the new username but apparently it didn’t work that way. The posts, however, got MXT as the author..

      1. Had to spin through the database and then it solved itself.

Hmm, I wonder if I should rename Johan to “The Environmental Party’s champion No.1”? 🤔
No, of course I would never do that… Or?

  23. The attacks by the USA on the Iranian nuclear facility Fordow likely caused significant damage. That’s according to Rafael Grossi, head of the UN’s nuclear energy agency IAEA, speaking to Reuters.

“Considering the explosive charge used and the extremely vibration-sensitive nature of the centrifuges, one can expect very significant damage,” he said.

However, he points out that no one, “not even the IAEA,” can know for sure without investigating the situation underground at the buried facility.

  24. Update from 08:00 23.06.2025 on the Russian invasion

A total of 142↘️ combat actions were registered during the past day.

The Russian invaders suffered a total of 1,010 losses (KWIA) during the last day.

    For a total KWIA/combat action of 7.1.

    In Pokrovsk, an even higher ratio. According to the 22-report, out of 36↘️(⏱️43, 47, ..) out of 107↘️(⏱️128, 157, ..) battles, AFU🇺🇦 had killed 166↗️(⏱️126, 110, ..) Russians and wounded another 121↗️(⏱️56, 91, ..), for a total of 287(⏱️222, 204, ..) KWIA in this sector. And a kwia/combat action of 287/36= 7.9↗️ which is the highest in a while (⏱️5.2, 4.3, 7.3, 4.6, 3.1, 4.9, 3.5, 4.7, 6.5, 3.8, 4.7, 6.8, 4.4, 3.8, 5.7, ..).

Also note the number of KIA per KWIA in Pokrovsk: 166/287=0.578 58%

With decreasing attacks and increasing KWIA/attacks, can one even assume offensive operations from AFU🇺🇦 in Pokrovsk?

  25. Peter Den Större

It’s strange that parts of the older establishment with names like Carl Bildt seem to be more interested in what the UN Charter stipulates than in what actually happens on the ground. Breaking an agreement seems to be worse than liberating humanity from a black terrorist state. Is Bildt possibly aiming for a top position at the UN in the future? Or have years of peace together with a postmodern culture led us to leave solid ground and have our heads completely above the clouds?

    1. Westley Richard

A top position in the UN costs money. The Social Democrats poured in hundreds of millions into some fake job for Löfven at the UN. Buying a seat on the Security Council or a managerial position is Social Democratic politics.

I also believe that Bildt burned his chances in Kosovo, not everyone was pleased with his stubborn ways.

    1. Fortunately, it is far from those 100 (and even 150) that some feared. On the other hand, Iran has not blocked the strait or responded by attacking the USA yet. If one or both of these things happen, it will probably get worse.

      1. Is there a clear answer to this?

Is the West not holding back Ukraine to destroy Russian oil industry infrastructure….?

Or is Ukraine ignoring such “recommendations”.

Then, as someone mentioned yesterday. A firmer line against those who break sanctions. Especially India and China if you count economically.

    1. RIP 🫡

One can wonder if they are exposed to more than just torture as prisoners in Russia, since several have died unexpectedly when they returned home. 🤬

        1. It struck me that I read somewhere that prolonged and severe starvation is something that can create lasting heart problems. Some of those who have been released have been really emaciated and many probably have PTSD and the stress together with the heart problems may be the cause.

  26. I assume that the statement about the prison being destroyed is a significant exaggeration. If that were the case, Israel would have failed completely. It could of course have been a stray robot. Keeping my fingers crossed that the initial reports are accurate, that only the entrance has been hit.
(Otherwise, we will probably hear Bildt speak again!)

“An Israeli attack has hit the notorious Evin prison in Iran, reports state-run Iranian TV, according to AP. Israel confirms the attack.

The prison houses political prisoners, including the Swedish-Iranian researcher Ahmadreza Djalali. Nobel laureate Narges Mohammadi was released from prison last year for medical reasons.

An Iranian newspaper describes the building as “destroyed,” but the details are currently unclear.

“We haven’t heard anything, we don’t know if they are still alive, we are in a panic,” says Noemie Kohler, sister of the Frenchwoman Cecile Kohler who is imprisoned in Evin, to AFP.

She believes that Israel’s attack is “completely irresponsible” and risks the lives of the prisoners.”

    1. They take the opportunity to fix a double. Get rid of everyone sitting there and blame Israel at the same time…
      Pigs act like pigs!

        1. Yes, it’s rare to miss like that, with Western well-developed weapons! Cutting the gate is pure Western precision, it would be really cool so the prisoners can escape, right?
But destroying the whole place with prisoners, seems a bit too convenient to me, for the leadership of the terrorists’ terrorist state?

  27. In Russia, the Atlas plant of Rosrezerva is on fire near Kamyansk-Shakhtynsky, Rostov region.

This is production base No. 7, “federal state-owned enterprise”, southern territorial administration (YTU) of Rosrezerva. Underground storage of petroleum products is used here.

Mosquitoes have already flown into this enterprise🦟🦟🦟

  28. USA thought they needed three years, here they believe in one year despite being bombed? Doesn’t feel quite credible, however, they might try to understand.

“Iran is likely to develop nuclear weapons after the US attacks on the country, says Mark Fitzpatrick at the think tank International Institute for Strategic Studies, to Al Jazeera.

    – For months, even years, they have had this capability, but they have not done it. Now there is very little reason for them not to do it, after being bombed.

Fitzpatrick estimates that it would take Iran about a year to enrich its uranium to a high enough level to produce nuclear weapons.”

  29. I think it’s completely right to try to help, but I get a little worried that money intended for the Palestinian Authority might end up in HAMAS pockets and only serve to prolong the war.

“The EU Commission has decided to give nearly 2.3 billion Swedish kronor to the UN organization for Palestinian refugees, Unrwa, and the Palestinian Authority.

Of the total amount, nearly 1.7 billion goes to the Palestinian Authority, and the money is intended for salaries for teachers and healthcare workers.

Unrwa receives the rest of the amount, which is intended for work with refugees in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.”

“The British police have banned a protest in support of the activist group Palestine Action outside the parliament in London. This was reported by The Times.

Members of the group earlier this week entered a British airport where they tried to sabotage military airplanes. Following this, the government is expected to classify the group as a terrorist organization, according to sources cited by The Guardian and BBC.”

  31. “Russia’s Vladimir Putin condemns the US attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities over the weekend, reports TT.

“This is a completely unprovoked aggression against Iran,” says Putin as he receives Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Monday.

He promises Russian “efforts to help the Iranian people”.”

  32. What are they waiting for? Shouldn’t the terrorism threat level in Sweden be raised to a four again as soon as possible?
Are we waiting for some consensus? From whom, then?
    Is Rawa Majid recruiting again?

      1. When I worked at 3M, I learned that innovation is not created in the laboratory, but in meeting real human needs. In Ukraine, a technological evolution is currently taking place driven by necessity. If we in Sweden want to be at the forefront in defense and security, companies like SAAB should not just observe, they should participate, learn, and co-develop where innovation is actually happening! We hear very little about SAAB being more than what they already have and deliver. Kongsberg is investing and the Germans are on their toes!

        1. A good point, it’s the problems that innovation can solve and that’s almost always what drives it.

Those who are present on site will be ahead, that’s why I believe Ukraine will be at the forefront (and in many cases already is), if only they get the money needed to invest and develop.

    1. Typical to take advantage of the situation.

It’s the same with raw material prices when the purchasing terms for the next six months increase, but companies take the opportunity to raise prices immediately on their own products.

    1. Westley Richard

According to the government, the air defense system – IRIS-T SLM – is intended to be used to protect Gotland against drones, helicopters, fighter jets, and cruise missiles. The purchase is described as “a first step” towards a larger effort to improve Sweden’s air defense, something that was identified as a priority direction in a cross-party agreement last week. – This brigade air defense is one of the perhaps most important new capabilities that we have acquired since the 1990s, adds the Prime Minister.

  33. Russia is attacking Ukraine and threatening the rest of Europe.
Europe is arming itself to face that threat, and Russia’s clowns are, of course, trying to make it sound like they have to arm themselves to face the threat from Europe. 🤡

“Putin said that NATO was “provoking global militarization” and “inventing” “some possible invasion of Europe” by Russia. He said that in response, Russia will “continue to develop” its armed forces and “strengthen the security of Russia.”
