According to Jake Broe, it was apparently Peter Hegseth who ensured that the deliveries were stopped, both this time and last time, and just like last time, he suspected that Trump would reverse the decision.
“The USA will send more weapons to Ukraine, announces Donald Trump according to several news agencies.
The statement from the president is a turnaround from last week when the Pentagon announced that they would hold back on weapon deliveries. Now Trump is saying the opposite.
– We have to. They are having trouble defending themselves, they are being heavily attacked. We will send more weapons, especially defensive.”

“President Trump säger att Ukraina drabbas mycket hårt och att USA kommer att behöva skicka fler vapen till Ukraina — främst defensiva vapen, säger han. WSJ rapporterade nyss att Trump berättade för President Zelenskyy att det inte var han som gav order om att hålla tillbaka vissa vapen.”

Wondering what attracts people to work under a person like Trump? If your joint decision is wrong, everything is blamed on you; if it’s right, Trump takes all the credit.
Must also be hopeless when he seems to make decisions based on the current mood.
Not even when it comes to tariffs does he seem to have a clear strategy. Of course, it could be part of the game, but it causes just as much trouble for American companies that have no chance of sensible procurement planning.
From the southern command, a situation report indicates no change. So, there is no information about a massive Russian attack along the southern front, as was mentioned on the blog yesterday.

In general, the enemy has not changed its tactics in the southern direction. The situation regarding enemy actions remains largely unchanged. The occupiers occasionally resort to storming our positions, not abandoning their intentions to break through our defences.
Enemy troops continue to use artillery and do not stop delivering air strikes, both on the positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces and on nearby settlements along the entire front line.
In the Huliaipole direction, the Defence Forces successfully repelled four enemy assaults near Malynivka.
In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders repelled four enemy attacks in the Kamyanske area and towards Mala Tokmachka.
No clashes were recorded in the Prydniprovsk direction over the past day.
Over the past day, the enemy lost:
– 41 occupiers
– 10 howitzers, including Hyacinth-B and Msta-B
– 22 vehicles
– 2 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs.
– 7 Supercam, Zala and Orlan-10 reconnaissance UAVs
– 5 electronic warfare systems, including Groza-4

⚡️Russia fails to meet OPEC+ oil production target in June, Bloomberg reports.
Historically, Russia, which co-leads the OPEC+ alliance with Saudi Arabia, has faced criticism for poor compliance with production quotas.
https://bsky.app/profile/kyivindependent.com/post/3ltfuuzbljc2b
Clear signal that Russia is having problems in the oil industry
Unfortunately, Russia’s oil production is declining more slowly than one would wish for. Slower also than what was predicted in the spring of 2022, for example by the IEA. At least if I remember correctly. According to the IEA’s latest Oil Market Report, it was at 9.2 million barrels per day in May. At the start of the full-scale war, it was around 10 million barrels per day.

Any cat owner who had trouble buttoning up their suit this morning?
Aha, so it’s the cat’s fault!
Didn’t you see how it had to hold back the laughter 😂
Ah, that’s why it was lying on its back and sounded like it was about to cough up a hairball when I was getting dressed, almost laughing to death..
😳!
Finally, but too little and too late.
Such an order should have been placed every year since 2022 and half of it should have been sent to Ukraine as soon as it was delivered. 5 billion is not much in this context. Of course, it’s difficult to know the exact price for a grenade, but estimates I’ve seen are between 60,000-90,000 SEK. If we calculate based on 60,000 SEK, it would be enough for approximately 85,000 grenades. If you shoot 3,000/day, it will barely last for a month. Of course, we cannot compare with Ukraine, and we don’t have enough Archers to shoot that many per day. 85,000 might last for half a year. But then we also have to keep everything for ourselves.
“Sweden has ordered artillery ammunition for five billion SEK, reports TV4 News.
The order, which concerns grenades and propellants for the Archer weapon system, is the largest made by the Swedish Armed Forces since the 1980s. A multi-year agreement has been signed with defense companies Nammo and Rheinmetall Denel Munition.”

😲 Trump: Putin is not a good man, he is a bad man. He has killed a lot of people, and I don’t think he respects me.
https://bsky.app/profile/maks23.bsky.social/post/3ltgojwm5hk2r
Has Putin said anything derogatory about Trump’s perfume?
Putin may have refused when Trump wanted him to order a few hundred pallets of perfume?
At first, I thought it was the other way around, that Putin had placed the order because the USA would stop the deliveries, but apparently it was Hegseth who was running his own race.
What had he expected. Putin only respects strength/violence. The demonstration in Iran was not enough.
On the other hand, Trump has never threatened Putin with violence either. He can try that next time.
The five-year-old Trump has discovered that Putin is stupid.
😄
Should be presented to Trump in the Oval Office.
Yes, it’s something they should want to prevent, pressure has been put on China before and sanctions have been imposed on some of their ships and companies. Now I don’t really remember if there has been much of that since Trump took over, but if he is serious about going after China, it’s something he should work harder on.
Of course, the risk is that Trump will have a chat with Putin and promise him “a deal, the best deal ever” to deliver American components instead…
Trump was concerned that the US import of Chinese goods would ultimately generate money to build up China’s defense, which is not entirely wrong. One could then prove to Trump that he is right and that China is also building up other defenses as well, including those of the US’s enemies.
He likes to be right but dislikes being mocked by others.
To speed up the refurbishment process, the Swedish Armed Forces will lower their requirements for weapons and equipment. This is according to Army Chief Jonny Lindfors speaking to TT.
The reason is that the defense needs to be upgraded quickly. As the international situation has changed, so has the view on the defense equipment. Lindfors talks about “horror examples” where body armor and drones have been left in storage collecting dust because the instruction manual was not available in Swedish or the “correct label was not attached to the gadget.”
If this means that FMV can now be satisfied with Trangia’s user manual for their alcohol and gas stoves instead of letting the stoves remain unused in storage waiting for FMV to produce its own manual, then I am satisfied.
Perhaps it might even be possible to obtain functional boots in that case, without procurement processes taking +10 years (hint, Lundhags makes good boots).
Darth Putin has a point here.
“Donald is helping Russia by doing this. When he stops aid we kill more civilians. But when he restarts, it’s less than before. The plan is to convince Europe that America is still supporting Ukraine & that pressure on him works. That way Europe won’t increase their own aid.”

Tricky that Darth..
Just now it was about Europe holding back on support while waiting for a first step from the USA.
But…
Yes, he twists everything to an advantage for Putin (himself) regardless of whether it logically connects with other claims, but he sure isn’t dumb.

It’s probably about backbone again. Apparently growing slowly on European politicians.
Israel/Gaza
“The Israeli plans to relocate Gaza’s population to what they call a ‘humanitarian city’ violate international law. This is according to one of Israel’s leading human rights lawyers, Michael Sfard, speaking to The Guardian.
He says that it doesn’t matter that Israel claims the relocation will be voluntary, as Gaza’s population is under such great pressure that nothing can be considered voluntary from a legal standpoint.
Katz announced on Monday that he had given the military orders to begin building the humanitarian city in the ruins of Rafah in southern Gaza, with the goal of accommodating the entire population of Gaza there.”

What does it take to become a bodyguard?
If education is required, it seems embarrassingly poor.
On the other hand, bodyguards should also be able to think for themselves, it doesn’t seem to be just one who has embarrassed themselves but several.
“The Security Police’s bodyguards have revealed information about Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) through activities logged in the training app Strava. This is shown by DN’s investigation.
On at least 35 occasions, Kristersson’s own bodyguards have shared sensitive information that allows the Prime Minister’s residence, running routes, and travels to be mapped out. It is detailed to the extent that the running pace can be seen.”
https://omni.se/livvakternas-traningsdata-rojer-kristerssons-rorelser/a/XjXwVg
Many follow-up questions.
How does DN know the names of the bodyguards and how they move?
If DN knows, then the Russians should know too.
Are our fighter pilots and other military specialists running around leaving traces on the internet?
For now, at least the Russians must make an effort and disguise themselves as art dealers, now everything is served online.
DN has probably fabricated names, but it shouldn’t be too difficult to figure out based on profiles, etc.
Easy to trace is probably to start from known places and at times when it is known that someone important has been nearby and then piece together the puzzle.
And yes, the Russians are likely to know, if they are interested in tracking these politicians/royal family.
Yes, I agree, the level of knowledge probably needs to be raised overall.
Maybe it depends on which foreign power we are talking about. If, for example, Iran would like to cause trouble and use criminal gangs that do not have the same resources as China and Russia, it is completely unnecessary that they can so easily access the information.
“The information about the security guards’ running routes, which may have revealed the prime minister’s location and affected his security, ”should not exist”. That’s what David Jacoby, an IT security expert at the company Syndis, tells TT.
However, he believes that the risk of this information benefiting a foreign power is very small, because ”they have other channels where they can gather similar information”
https://omni.se/experten-sakerhetsrisken-ska-inte-overdrivas/a/MnyR00
Ukraine used Strava to map out a careless submarine captain before they liquidated him while he was jogging. Bodyguards doing that is beyond comprehension in that context, it should be part of the basic training for all activities involving personal security.

Johan, you get to travel to the northern parts of Greece and report on the weather, there are places where it will only be 20-25 degrees! 😉
“The Greek Ministry of Culture has partially closed access to the Acropolis in Athens due to high temperatures, writes AFP. The attraction is closed between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM on Tuesday.
Temperatures are expected to rise to around 42 degrees in some places. In Athens, it will be 38 degrees hot.
The heatwave, which hit Greece on Sunday and is expected to continue until Thursday, is the second in the country in a short time.”

Crude Oil unfortunately slowly creeps back up again, now at 67.5 USD/barrel.
Close the embassy and kick them out!
We have no use for letting them sit here in Sweden and spread their propaganda while simultaneously waging a hybrid war against us. I actually don’t understand why we haven’t done it already, it’s completely obvious that it is of no use to us at all to have them here.
“Russia has summoned Sweden’s charge d’affaires to a meeting at the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow, writes the Russian state news channel Tass in a statement.
The reason is the paint attack that the Russian trade representation in Lidingö, Stockholm, was subjected to over the weekend. According to the embassy, the paint was released from a drone. Similar paint attacks have previously been directed at, among other places, the Russian embassy.”
https://omni.se/ryssland-kallar-upp-svensk-diplomat-efter-fargattack/a/pPyLvW
While waiting for such a radical approach, one can complement the color attacks on the Russian trade delegation in Lidingö with stink bombs. They can easily be released from drones and provide a good aromatic illustration of the building’s contents.
A generous dose of the talked-about perfume maybe!

Feels a bit worrying that the Chinese are challenging in that way.
Agree, doesn’t feel quite right if they are going to start testing the limits of what they can do without repercussions (other than judgments).
EU will have to start escorting with combat aircraft armed. Next time China acts, there will be a warning and interception.
I rekindled my acquaintance with an old musical favorite. The following verse is oh so relevant for the people of Sweden and Europe today:
We must keep them away
Or pretty soon we’ll pay
And count the cost in sorrow
Sacrifice, the future has it’s price
And today is only
Yesterday’s tomorrow
Doubtful if I had hit the origin. But now everything like that is so easy.

Regarding the “summary” Ir*n/Isr*el at the top:
There are actually things happening in the Middle East that are NOT directly highlighted in PS, DN, etc. (but now I’m not going to come here and demand journalists’ competence or willingness to work, especially when the fool in TheShiteHouse is not involved):
https://www.fokus.se/sticket/nya-vindar-pa-vastbanken/
For those who can’t access the full text:
“Considering the cool interest in a Palestinian state in the Middle East and the contempt for the Palestinian Authority (PA), it was expected that the leader of the largest clans in the West Bank – Wadee al-Jabaari in Hebron – would want to be recognized as an independent entity and establish a peace agreement with Israel. The agreement would also involve al-Jabaari and his allies recognizing Israel.
Al-Jabaari argues that the Oslo Accords, and the whole idea of a Palestinian state governed by the Palestinian Authority (PA), have been a disaster for the Palestinians. Nothing constructive has come out of the agreement, which in practice has only continued to feed a thoroughly corrupt regime. He and his clan leader colleagues want to get rid of Mahmoud Abbas and the PA.
Therefore, al-Jabaari proposes that Hebron be seen as an independent emirate and become part of the Abraham Accords that have previously established agreements with other Arab states in the region. The new initiative would extend to several other major cities in the West Bank and entail completely new conditions for the relationship between Israelis and Palestinians.”
This is not a first-hand solution for anyone. The clan leaders are not good guys. However, they may – unlike Hamas, their bearded sugar daddies in Tehran, the Western world’s all rebels desperately looking for a cause but never for knowledge (ranging from DelgadoVaras to Thunberg to Wahlgren) – have a greater interest in peace, security, and prosperity for “their” subjects than in killing J*ws and eradicating Isr*el, i.e., they love THEIR children more than they hate the enemy’s (to refer to G Meir) – and THAT may be the best one can hope for at the moment?
So, are repeated separate agreements the way forward?
Pragmatic clan leaders, in other words?
On someone’s bingo card?
Göndör concludes:
“Nothing will suddenly happen tomorrow. But the initiative is interesting and shows both that there are other ideas than the well-known ones, and that the Western world and its varying levels of Palestinian activism have mostly got it all wrong.”
(is it already posted I apologize, intense workdays, rarely time for more than quickly skim through the comment section)
I touched on the subject yesterday, but it concerned clans in Gaza as I understood it.
It is heartening that some new ones are emerging and want to get rid of Hamas and the corrupt Palestinian Authority in the West Bank.
Göndör is worth reading 👍🏻.
