  1. I guess Turkey can make a nice profit here, partly getting rid of worthless air defense systems and partly being able to charge more than they paid for them since Russia seems to be getting desperate. It’s probably Putin who needs more close defense for his palaces.

“❗️🇷🇺Russia has approached 🇹🇷Turkey with a proposal to buy back the S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems that were delivered to Ankara in 2019.”

    1. Yes, the most remarkable thing is still that Turkey, a NATO country, bought Russian. And it wasn’t long ago that France built Mistral-class naval vessels for Russia. 🙄 🧏🧑‍🦯‍➡️

  2. “Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has arrived in Odesa, joined by British philanthropist Lord Ashcroft, People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko reported.”

“Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, visited a site of a Russian attack in Kyiv. City military chief Tymur Tkachenko thanked Harry for his compassion and support for children and the wounded.”

  3. Russian propaganda at work again: in Filiia, Dnipropetrovsk region, Russians shelled with MLRS and FPVs, then sent a swimmer to plant a flag on one house. Minutes later, Ukrainian troops cleared the area, tore it down and raised the Ukrainian flag. To our knowledge, Filiia remains AFU controlled.

      1. He unfortunately survived.

Putin will personally award him the medal Baddaren of the blue degree for his efforts for Mother Russia.

  4. “Ukraine’s EW systems have become more effective against Russian Kinzhal missiles, making hits less frequent, Suspilne reports citing General Staff sources. Russia has already lost at least $1.5B countering EW, forced to equip bombs and Shaheds with costly CRPA antennas worth $10–17K each.”

  5. Denmark has chosen the Franco-Italian SAMP/T long-range air defense system over the US Patriot, signing a $9.1B deal for 8 units – the country’s largest single defense investment, FT reports. The first system is expected to be operational already in 2025.

        1. They have probably planned to take down the Gripen when we discover that the Scanians have started eating open sandwiches and drinking strong beer for lunch. Plus, they probably have a Ukrainian weapon factory in Denmark soon, they have probably managed to make some clever modifications to SAM systems?

  6. 🚨 +18 🚛 En spridd kolumn av ett dussin mobiker, flera lastbilar med ammunition och självcyklar. Hoppas att 2 km framsteg var värt det. Enligt planen! 👍 😳

  7. Recommends that KWIA has a slowly rising curve, approaching a thousand. It seems like, as you have pointed out, there is an increased intensity in the conflicts. Which probably is related to Zapad.

  8. ⚡️Russian offensive in Sumy Oblast ‘completely thwarted,’ Zelensky says. “As of today, we can state that the Russian offensive operation on Sumy has been completely thwarted by our forces,” President Zelensky said on Sept. 12, citing front-line reports from Commander-in-chief Syrskyi.”

  9. Yes, that’s what we’ve been saying for quite some time now, nice that some people there in Germany seem to start understanding it.
Send Taurus the day before yesterday!

“The head of the German parliament’s defense committee, Thomas Röwekamp, said that the best way to combat drones during war is to destroy their production facilities and launchers on Russian territory, and NATO partners should provide Ukraine with the necessary capabilities for this.”

  10. “A earthquake has taken place off the east coast of Russia, according to the US Geological Survey USGS. The earthquake had a magnitude of 7.4 and its epicenter was 112 kilometers east of the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on the Russian Kamchatka Peninsula. …”

  11. Russia and Belarus carrying out “provocative actions” against the West during the large military exercise Zapad cannot be ruled out. That’s according to Joakim Paasikivi, former lieutenant colonel and now a geopolitical advisor, speaking to Expressen. It could, for example, happen in the form of airspace violations or incidents at sea, he says, but that the Western countries are “reasonably prepared for it”. 40,000 soldiers from NATO countries have been deployed in eastern Poland, the newspaper writes. …

  13. Would like to highlight a post by N Eklund in yesterday’s thread:

The question is whether Europe can achieve the same air superiority over Iran as Israel did? Or at least that we have the capability to do what Ukraine should have done a long time ago, bomb RU’s economy to pieces.

I think this is a part that hasn’t been talked about much when discussing what the war in 2025 looks like.

Regarding the drones in Poland, I believe as usual that it’s wrong to think that there is ONE reason, usually in analyses people want to find “the reason”. In reality, you weigh pros and cons on two different scales and see which way it tips and by how much.

One major reason (that I haven’t seen anyone mention, but haven’t read everything) I believe is that RU wants to make Europe hesitate when it comes to sending weapons to Ukraine. Who can blame Poland in this situation if they want to strengthen their air defense and not send to Ukraine? Didn’t a boat with weapons promised to Ukraine arrive in Israel as a result of October 7th? This is something that could indicate that RU only wants to make Europe nervous, not angry.

Speaking of reasons (in plural), I saw a teaser yesterday that Snapsavora threatened retaliation against Denmark for supplying fuel/fuel systems(?) to Ukraine for missiles.

    “Kremlin:

“If Ukraine produces cruise missile propellant on Danish soil, it will be increasingly difficult not to see Denmark as a country directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict”

Danes, don’t flinch, they threaten us Eastern Europeans like this constantly.”

Note that this was a few days before the drone attack on Poland.

Also provides some perspective on Denmark’s announcement of the procurement of air defense systems just a few days after the drone attack on Poland.

🇩🇰 The Danish government has chosen the Franco-Italian long-range air defense system SAMP-T over the most popular American alternative Patriot, and has signed a contract for 8 air defense systems worth $9.1 billion — the largest single investment in the country’s defense.

Also see post in yesterday’s thread.

    1. 👍

I previously wrote exactly that, that it may have been what they intended. It was in connection with news that LV would be sent to Poland.

Make sure that as many countries as possible start worrying about their own defense so they send less. Ideally, the population should also become scared so they not only demand that, but also want to see reduced support to avoid provoking Russia and thereby avoid being attacked.

  14. Off-Topic, Israel – Palestine

“Israel’s former army chief Herzi Halevi says that over 200,000 Palestinians have been injured or killed in the war in Gaza, reports The Guardian. – This is not a mild war. We took off the gloves from the first minute. Unfortunately not earlier, said Halevi during the meeting first highlighted by Ynet. During a meeting with an agricultural cooperative in southern Israel, Halevi said that 10 percent of the 2.2 million people living in Gaza have been killed. The figure corresponds well with statistics from Gaza’s health department – something that Israel has dismissed as Hamas propaganda. According to the department, 64,718 have been killed and 163,859 injured, many of whom are believed to have died.”
