Trump and Zelenskyy have talked – Once again a combined Russian terrorist attack where both drones and robots were used

Zelenskyy and Trump have talked on the phone again ahead of the upcoming meeting in Geneva between the USA and Ukraine. The conversation is said to have been friendly and positive. Zelenskyy praised everyone’s work for peace. It doesn’t seem to have resulted in anything more concrete, at least not publicly. One might think it’s a waste of time, but it’s probably good that they talk every now and then, even if it doesn’t really lead to anything.
Perhaps naive, but it might make it a bit harder for Trump to throw Zelenskyy under the bus if he starts to develop some kind of relationship with him. Zelenskyy seems to have realized long ago that the best thing is to flatter him and say yes to most things as long as it doesn’t involve anything crucial.

Russia has once again attacked Ukraine in a combined assault using not only drones but also robots. Several regions were targeted including Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv, and there are reports of damage to homes and civilian infrastructure. In Zaporizhzhia, a high-rise building and a shopping center were hit.

  1. The promised 24 hours for peace have so far been extended to over a year and a month, I doubt that one more month will be enough.

“❗️During yesterday’s conversation with Zelenskyy, Trump stated that he wants to end the war in a month, — Axios. “Zelenskyy said he hopes the war will end this year, and Trump replied that the war has already lasted too long and said he would like it to end in a month,” one of the sources told Axios”

    1. Now Trump has a new problem to deal with. I am thinking mainly of the shootings off the coast of Cuba.
Have Americans died, or are they Cubans working for the Americans? The USA has a history of failures when it comes to Cuba. The exception being the Cuban Missile Crisis.

      1. If I were “Cuba,” I would simply go out and say that they were American drug smugglers, then the USA shouldn’t be able to complain, they have set the bar for what you can get away with.

Joking aside, it will be interesting to see if what really happened will come to light and if it will escalate.

Cuba needs a regime change, but I hope the USA doesn’t start a war with them.

  2. DeepStateMap from yesterday shows a small advancement of the Russians near Zakitne.
For the Ukrainian troops still present in Yampil, it is probably time to withdraw before they are completely surrounded.

    “The enemy advanced near Zakitne.”

  3. Off-Topic, our trains.

So previously canceled trains have been counted as if they arrived on time..??

“From Thursday, canceled trains will once again be included in the official punctuality statistics, reports TT. The authority Trafikanalys is introducing a new measure that includes suddenly canceled departures.

Trafikverket’s unit manager Thomas Andersson says that the authority has not tried to embellish the figures by not including trains that have not run at all, but that it has been due to technical limitations. In general, the trend for train punctuality is good, he claims.

    – We see a positive trend in punctuality, at the same time as we are running more trains and also carrying out maintenance and upgrading the infrastructure more than ever before.”

  4. Off-Topic, electricity in Sweden

So, there is a substantial amount of money that is supposed to go towards the grid, but it just sits there and accumulates despite us having bottlenecks. In ten years, the money is likely to have at least doubled. This must be because Svenska kraftnät would rather pay fees into that pot than actually do something about the problems. They know that the pot will later be used for their own expenses with expansion.

Feels a bit like: “You did something stupid, so now you have to deposit 100 SEK into your own savings account!”

It feels like someone has thought a bit wrong here if the purpose is to expedite the work of eliminating the bottlenecks.. ? Or have I possibly misunderstood it?

“In the last six years, the price differences in electricity have been significant in Sweden, which has led to bottleneck fees piling up at Svenska kraftnät. At the time of writing, there are approximately 85 billion SEK lying unused, and it may take ten years before they are put to use. This is reported by Ekot.

Bottleneck fees, or bottleneck income as it becomes for Svenska kraftnät, arise when it is not possible to transfer a sufficient amount of electricity between different parts of the country, resulting in price differences. Simply put, the fee is the price difference between the transferred volume of electricity.

How the money can be used is tightly regulated. Primarily, the money should be used to improve lines and infrastructure to enable better electricity transmission.

Even though it will take time to put the money to work, Svenska kraftnät believes that the projects already in the plan will be sufficient to spend the huge cash reserve.”

Is it really the right measure to build more power lines?

Wouldn’t it be better to invest in increased production capacity in the right places?

      1. I believe that both measures are needed, and I think that the expansion of the grid should be able to start and be completed faster compared to new nuclear power (if the will exists of course, but one wonders, because it should have been done a long time ago).

Of course, if there are several SMRs scattered around and a sufficient number of them so they can cover for each other, it can solve most of the problems. However, if it ends up with just one or two, or maybe a traditional larger nuclear power plant, there is still a risk that things will come to a standstill, for example, for maintenance (even though it is rare that all reactors are affected at the same time) or because something happens with the connection to the grid.

      1. Well, I have already admitted it!

I actually do it when I’m wrong, it doesn’t happen to me very often, I don’t feel it’s so burdensome. 😄.

You based it mostly on Russian sabotage, but we haven’t seen any of that (yet, see post further down) and when you worried about a cold winter, there was nothing indicating that in August.

Winter is not over yet, so we don’t know how it will end.
The cold has loosened its grip, but the Russians can still cause trouble.

  5. Off-Topic, USA FBI

This is petty on a sickly level.
FBI agents who are just doing their job are getting fired? If they had refused to follow orders, they would have been fired back then.

This is truly a threat to the rule of law, if staff are at risk of losing their jobs because it is the president who is being investigated (and of course, this could also apply to a person close to the president).

When Trump falls, I hope there will be an investigation against Kash Patel even though I strongly suspect that he is only doing what Trump wants him to do.

“FBI chief Kash Patel has fired at least six agents following the raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in August 2022, according to six sources for NBC News.

Since Trump took office, the FBI has fired several employees involved in investigations related to him or participants in the storming of Congress on January 6, 2021.

The FBI Agents Association has called the dismissals a violation of due process.

The FBI conducted a raid on Mar-a-Lago and seized over 13,000 documents in the residence. Trump was later charged for his handling of classified documents.”

      1. This was not about pardoning even if you are right that Biden also used it and on a completely different level than Trump.

By the way, I saw a few weeks ago that one of those pardoned from the Capitol had been arrested for abusing minors. Nice guys who stood up for Trump (maybe an old friend of Trump from the Epstein era?).

Here it was about firing agents who were just doing their job, it’s a completely different thing to let it go beyond them long afterwards?

To my knowledge, it was nothing that Biden did, I can’t remember him being the subject of any investigation, which Trump was, so he had no reason, of course. Trump also made sure that the case against him was dropped and then enacted a law saying that the president cannot be prosecuted afterwards.

The legal system in the USA is obviously largely corrupt, but it seems to only be getting worse and worse.

      2. Hey, you, by the way, I never assured anything. Just wrote that there were no indications then that it would be a cold winter with high electricity prices.

Would probably most like to say that even a blind hen.. 😄

  6. Off-Topic, Epstein

“The Democrats on the House oversight committee are furious with the Trump administration following reports that documents in the Epstein investigation concerning the president have been withheld by the Justice Department.

“This is the biggest cover-up by a government in modern times. We demand answers,” the group wrote on X.

NPR was the first to report on the missing documents, which relate to allegations that Donald Trump sexually abused a minor girl in the 1980s. CNN and The New York Times also report on the documents.

Earlier this week, the Justice Department stated that the only material not disclosed is that which is confidential or duplicates. On Wednesday evening, the department wrote that it will investigate whether documents related to the president were wrongfully withheld.”

  7. “❗️Dozens of people wounded as a result of the Russian attack, including children: the enemy launched 39 missiles and 420 drones at Ukraine overnight, – Zelenskyy. There is destruction in eight regions: many private houses and apartment buildings were damaged.”

      1. I believe it’s you who staged that, just to drive up electricity prices and prove yourself right in your predictions of sabotage! 🤔🧐

    1. No problem opening the desired tap, but there is no oil to transport due to upstream issues. Moreover, it seems that Ruz has cut the line inside Ukraine, so opening the tap won’t help either.

  8. Hear this – things are going well for Ukraine right now 😳

    counterattack – brilliant

    Flamingo – excellent

USA is starting to get upset

    exciting to say the least

Threat to the Nordic power grid!

“Reports: Serious threat to the energy grid in the whole of the Nordic region
A foreign power is planning to strike against the Nordic energy systems shortly, according to information provided to TV4 News.

According to the website, a “serious threat” has been directed towards the energy infrastructure in all Nordic countries. Police and several other authorities have raised their preparedness levels.

A source tells TV4 that police officers on duty have received “clear instructions” to take the threat seriously.

The police confirm the information to TV4 but do not want to disclose the exact nature of the threat.”

“The actor accused of threatening the energy systems in the whole of the Nordic region is said to have set a deadline for when the attack is expected to occur. This was reported by TV4 News, which was the first to report on the threats. The actor is believed to have connections to a foreign power.

    – According to the threat, the actor could strike in the near future, says a source to the channel.

Several authorities in multiple countries have heightened their preparedness levels due to the threats, which are described as serious and taken very seriously. In Sweden, the Police, Säpo, and the Civil Contingencies Agency confirm that they are aware of the information.”

  10. “A Russian drone has approached the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, which is currently in Sweden. This is reported by SVT. The drone was detected by the Swedish defense, which took countermeasures against it.

The aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle is the French Navy’s floating center. Right now, it is docked in the port of Malmö where it has stopped for, among other things, a strategic exercise.

In connection with the aircraft carrier’s visit to Sweden, a serious security incident has occurred. According to information provided to SVT, a drone took off from a Russian ship nearby and approached the aircraft carrier. … …”

  11. Off-Topic, more about electricity and “bottlenecks”

I must agree with the criticism. If the Swedish National Grid (which we as consumers finance) is forced to set aside money to counteract bottlenecks when they occur, it is directly linked to the network in Sweden.

Don’t you agree that it’s a bit strange if that money is supposed to go to electricity grids in Europe?

“It is a failure for the government that the EU Commission’s proposal for a portion of Swedish electricity customers’ so-called bottleneck revenues should go towards financing new electricity grids in Europe. This is stated by the Social Democrats to Omni Ekonomi in a comment.

“The proposal is a disaster for Sweden and shows that the government fails to act in the EU. This should never have been put forward,” writes the party’s Member of the European Parliament, Sofie Eriksson. … …”
    https://omni.se/s-kritiserar-regeringen-misslyckats-med-att-verka-i-eu/a/k0EMbk

    1. But if we social democrats get to govern, we will (contrary to all previous actions) work very hard for Sweden and against the EU. Regardless of party color, a Swedish politician becomes completely ecstatic if they get to give away power and money to some larger organization, so don’t trust anyone on this issue.

  12. Yesterday but still interesting! 💥🔥👍✊

“🔥Destruction of ammonium nitrate production facilities at a fertilizer plant in Dorogobuzh – February 25, 2026 Ukrainian drones staged a “Beirut” for the residents of Dorogobuzh. As a result of the attack by FP-1 drones on the production, storage, and transportation area of ammonium fertilizers, a series of explosions occurred on the automobile transport site, at the railway terminal, and directly in the finished product warehouse.

Also, the ammonium nitrate production installations were located in the explosion zone. Due to the powerful blast wave, one of the overpasses was completely destroyed and some neighboring production facilities were damaged within a radius of several hundred meters.

The debris scattered as a result of the explosion were visible over a large area. In 2024, the affected production site accounted for about 10% of all ammonium nitrate production in Russia.

  13. 🇺🇦 Konstantinovsky direction: The enemy is methodically fortifying in the area of the agricultural college. They are preparing a staging ground to put pressure on the southern protrusion of the city. Their logic: to infiltrate the private sector, seize this area and thus open up a stable logistics route through the N20 highway. Without control over this artery, they won’t last long here, so they are working aggressively.

🇺🇦 The key for them is Berehostok. Until it is secured, there will be no full-scale maneuver to the south. In parallel, the task is to close the south-western flank – this is to completely take Illyinovka to avoid leaving an exposed side to our fire. If they manage to equalize the line and secure the flanks, the next stage will be intense urban battles directly in the built-up area. 🇺🇦 At the moment, they are preparing the field, leveling the southern heights with FAWs, trying to knock out strongpoints before the infantry advance.

FPVs are actively working on the approaches, trying to paralyze rotation and reinforcements. The north-eastern sector is being bombarded with artillery and drones – creating pressure to stretch our attention and prevent us from transferring reserves to threatening areas. 🇺🇦 In fact, there are two vectors of attack on the flanks: from noon and from the south-west.

For now, this is still a stage of formation and fire preparation, without a full-scale frontal phase. But the configuration suggests that if their flanks stabilize, the hot phase could start quickly, with an entry into the urban built-up area and an attempt to cut through the defense at logistics nodes.

  14. 🇺🇦💡 Shmyhal: The needs for energy restoration, according to the latest World Bank estimate, amount to $90.6 billion. It is impossible to cover these needs through public investments alone. We must consolidate forces through mechanisms of public-private partnership on mutually beneficial terms.

This was noted during a conversation between Zelenskyy and representatives of international business… We are interested in investments in our energy sector, we are counting on joint projects, we must do as much as possible before the next heating season.”

  15. Netherlands 🇳🇱

Never before made public until today, the 🇷🇺Russians attacked the train carrying US General Ben Hodges, roof exploding. This was amid a nationwide Russian sabotage operation that attacked trains in 5 locations in the Netherlands.

European governments are doing everything to keep these growing attacks quiet because admitting that they’re happening means they’d need to respond, and Russians have Carte Blanche.

    1. The last one is probably correct. Apparently, it doesn’t matter what Russia does, we just turn the other cheek and let them continue.

Sanctions seem to be the only active resistance we dare to take, and not even those measures are ensured to be properly followed.

Putin seems to have read us like an open book, he understood that we wouldn’t do anything. Although he probably missed that we would actually dare to support Ukraine with military equipment to the extent we have.

“The best way to defend Europe is to help Ukraine defeat Russia.

I did not hear this in Munich. – Former US Army Commander in Europe Ben Hodges @general_ben:

Europeans have got to accept more responsibility for what goes on in Europe. Ukraine is a European country. Europeans need to understand that the best way to defend Europe is to help Ukraine defeat Russia.

I did not hear this in Munich. That was a disappointment. I did not hear a clear commitment, “We’re going to help Ukraine win, to defeat Russia inside Ukraine,” because it’s in the interest of Europe. It’s not that there’s not enough resources, it’s just not enough political will. And if they don’t do it, this is only going to get worse for Europe.

The best thing to do is to make that commitment to help Ukraine wreck Russia’s oil and gas infrastructure, stop all of these shadow fleet vessels that are going out to the Baltic Sea and Black Sea, inflict consequences on Russia for their gray zone operations, and give Ukraine the tools that they need to defend themselves. If that happens, then I think we’ll see a positive end to this war much sooner.”

  16. Translated:

“Hello, Odessa! Together with a team from the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MCF), they handed over boats to the State Rescue Service to assist in water rescue missions. We also visited the headquarters and training center of the State Rescue Service.

Once again, we were convinced of the extraordinary professionalism and resilience of the rescue workers. We saw a residential building damaged during the shelling. This is a horrific event that should not exist. Sweden stands by Ukraine’s side and will continue to support the country.”

  17. MXT – we have long said that we are already at war, right?

It seems like in 2025 and 2026 our governments have really tried to cover it up.

    Completely crazy this.

    1. Yes, it is just becoming more and more frustrating to watch as we let Russia get away with everything and when we also do not seem to understand that a clear victory for Ukraine would finally put an end to it.

  18. I have come to a conclusion some time ago – the only right thing to do is to completely overhaul the tax collection and then sit down and go through what the taxes should be used for and tax accordingly.

Right now we are at the level of serfdom in Europe but a lot of the tax collection does not go towards its intended purposes.
