Ukraine daily update February 19, 2025

Update

Snow lions

Now that everyone wants to talk about the EU meeting or Trump, I will deliver another little atomic bomb, which was first marketed yesterday on Bluesky and johanno1.se. Yesterday, before the atomic bomb exploded on us, we were informed that Putin’s peace plan has been exposed by an Italian artist (of all people…), and that Zelensky had a delegation in China, and then met Erdogan in person.

We KNOW that the USA has already come out strongly and clearly stated that UA will not regain lost territory, and we KNOW that Russia also flatly refuses it. There is no room for misinterpretation.

The meeting in Saudi Arabia is completely uninteresting, and RU now denies that there would be any peace plan but also seems to include new elections in Ukraine in their rather long shopping list to even consider stopping torturing, desecrating, and killing Ukrainian children as young as five years old.

Then Erdogan comes out plainly and says that he (for he IS Turkey) supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity, which is sensational. When was the last time Erdogan went against the USA and Russia, and he is the one who practically invented double-dealing and betrayal?

Now Johan No.1 is starting to understand, and the pieces are falling into place, why Macron has started to perk up and Germany is moving, and the entire EU unanimously condemns the USA.

I also want to mention that Zelensky condemns the statements from the USA to the extent that he says it is beneficial for Russia what has been said and suggested.

And Trump has actually come out and demanded new elections in Ukraine 😲

https://embed.bsky.app/embed/did:plc:oyzatboanf3omf2eievuwzwd/app.bsky.feed.post/3liiazl3c622l?id=252262525498107

China has already prepared to extract raw materials from occupied areas, and they expect significant contracts for the reconstruction in eastern UA from Russia for all the help they have provided the country – ammunition, vehicles, technology, and soldiers (excluding NK).

Zelensky had a delegation in China, and the only thing we have heard from China is a cryptic “we support a peace plan and offer to have peacekeeping troops on site in the future.”

The world shook – China is joining the war on Russia’s side.

Put together a better puzzle – China has reached an agreement with Ukraine on reconstruction and raw material contracts (something that Johan No.1 discussed in the summer of 2024 when things were at their darkest and he believed UA was looking for alternatives when the EU was wavering and Biden halted everything).

China sees an opportunity to approach the EU and alienate the USA from the EU, delivering a resounding slap on the world stage that they will get away with because they have the moral high ground.

And all they need to do is persuade Russia to retreat from Ukraine – nothing more.

Today, China controls virtually all remaining RU forex inflows, they control NK, and they control everything they send – if they cut off the supply, RU has months left.

The first sign will be when China also utters the magical words “we support Ukraine’s territorial integrity,” then you will know that the above reasoning is correct.

There is quite a significant upside for China here, to say the least 😁

Perhaps even some of those $700 billion will go to Chinese arms manufacturers destined for Ukraine instead of the US MID?

1.2.3… You know where you read it first (in the world) 🧐

I am working on a post about support, how much UA has, and so on, but there is too much happening right now to both finish it in time and then post a whole article on it, but it’s coming. However, it looks promising, I can tell you that.

Not surprisingly, the EU has come out strongly after King Macron’s decree on the parliament and there are hints about the mother of all weapon packages for staggering sums. Apparently, this enormous (war-winning) weapon package will only be announced after the German election, but it’s quite soon on the 23rd.

Remember our earlier discussion in 2023 and beyond about the war-winning weapon package?

You hit with such a large package that Russia bends over double and swallows the whole can of Omeprazole, but the charm of the whole concept is that then you only need to deliver maybe 25% because then the war is over

(IF this is true, of course… rumor, of course…, below you will find the confirmed support package)

The aftermath (statements) after the meeting were spot on – it’s too early for peacekeeping troops, let Ukraine fight its way to a position of strength, and we will support them all the way to the finish line.

My concerns were greatly relieved, it was only Kier Starmer and Stenegaard who wanted troops if I understood this correctly?

Zelensky is, of course, fully aware of everything, and we are thinking right – the EU is protected by Ukraine, and for that, we support them with weapons and let them enter the EU. A pretty decent middle ground.

I don’t think troops in Ukraine will be necessary because the situation looks much brighter at the fronts now. It is also much easier politically to just provide the weapons and let Ukrainian men and women die for us, so we will probably end up with that in the end.

I can’t decide if Scholz accidentally got it right or if he has found his inner Visigoth and is starting to do what is right – a week before the election?

But in the final stretch leading up to the election, Afd is doing poorly, and the man who wants to give Taurus to Ukraine – Mietz, has about 8% left to his own majority or something similar.

And Germany is no ordinary country, being the world’s fifth-largest economy and with a highly capable defense industry.

When you read the post below from the industry-leading MXT on yesterday’s johanno1.se, the question arises whether Scholz perhaps accidentally got it right 🧐

The Russians are very averse to EU soldiers in Ukraine, and Scholz did after all push that track the hardest – but that is also what is right for Ukraine, we’ll see if he has understood it yet 🤣

https://embed.bsky.app/embed/did:plc:ltji7vmwapwllhcnsr6fph3d/app.bsky.feed.post/3lih6mbzzx22t?id=11824277769325553

My concern was that our glorious leaders would connect a ceasefire with sending troops to Ukraine in the near future if you read earlier posts – now it will instead be a violent amount of weapons to Ukraine, no troops, and no discussion of a ceasefire. No one is happier than Johan No.1 today 👊💥

If I were to sum up Trump in a few words, there isn’t much information about the summit in Saudi Arabia, no one cares, and as you know, I have wanted to give Trump some time and then judge him for his actions. Lavrov denies the existence of a peace plan, and a three-point list has been circulating.

I think within a month we will get one of two reactions from him –

-he leans back with a satisfied smile and is content, possibly wanting the EU to buy more US weapons and pushing hard for it, but otherwise, he sits there smirking at Putin.

-he begins to accuse the EU of not wanting peace and being warmongers and leading us towards the third world war – the EU is heading towards full dictatorship and so on.

There’s a third one as well – the USA understands that the EU is getting closer to China and that they are marginalized, and then anything can actually happen because it’s a geopolitical atomic bomb for them, but it’s not Trump, it’s the country USA we will see in that case.

Trump is always very clear so we will easily be able to identify which of these two lines he chooses to pursue. I still want to believe in the first one, but we won’t miss if it’s the second option.

After all, he has allowed the EU to buy weapons from the USA to be sent to Ukraine. Biden did not allow that, there was a complete stop, and furthermore, Biden stopped Europe from sending what we had already bought and wanted to give to Ukraine. Now, the Greeks have been able to send all their old F-16s to UA, for example.

Do you understand what access to the USA’s arsenal of used equipment and 700 billion euros means 🤩

Yes, I understand that the EU wants to give the entire sum to manufacturers in the EU and will buy existing equipment from Spain, Portugal, Bulgaria, and so on, but the USA will push hard and offer “an offer you can’t refuse” in terms of both price and delivery time, plus a little extra on top of everything.

Because if there’s one thing that Trump has really thought about, it’s that we should all buy “Made in USA” from now on – that was kind of half the point, I believe.

Moreover, shares in European arms manufacturers are rising sharply, while in the USA, the MID is falling.

Lavrov is absolutely furious and threatening the whole of Europe with swift death 🤣

How so when his armies ride out to war on old donkeys.

Something very Russian – they pay a person to take a package to a roadblock or military outpost in, for example, Kiev, but don’t tell them that the package is a remote-controlled bomb. Suicide bombers who are unaware – in case anyone didn’t think they were completely evil 🤬

The eminent MXT on the eminent website johanno1.se posted some interesting information – a single Russian brigade has had 10,000 soldiers desert in less than two years 😲

https://embed.bsky.app/embed/did:plc:lfxlhdtxkyczcuroq4q2umqy/app.bsky.feed.post/3ligl3lvkms2s?id=8529799601776922

Do you think this is the only brigade in the Russian army that has experienced large-scale desertion 🧐

Here’s a little collage with Russian pack donkeys 😲

So it’s being used on a large scale now

Not even the world champions in fighting in the early stages like Ukraine can be completely satisfied with the situation around Kurakhove today – that situation map should cause some anxiety for the command.

Today, I am more than legally excited about the possibility of China joining forces with the EU and UA, I see the likelihood of that as quite high actually – why would they miss a chance to further drive a wedge between the EU and the USA, which Trump voluntarily placed there?

It would almost be a disservice not to do it?

-positive-positive and everything is in light blue and pale yellow with soothing elevator music.

  1. 👍 gets a thumbs up, sure the USA are not our friends right now, but I still see China as something worse.

When the USA entered Afghanistan, the Taliban reportedly said: “you have the clocks, we have the time.”

    Russia’s clock is ticking…

    1. I take a thumb, violent criticism regarding China I see throughout today’s thread and on bluesky so I have to put together something clearer about it 😀

Yes – absolutely, Russia is now heading towards the abyss and with the EU backing it, UA has time on its side.

  2. Russian losses:

    1300 KIA
    19 Tanks
    23 APVs (Armored Personnel Vehicles)
    72 Artillery systems
3 MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket Systems)
    4 Anti-Aircraft systems
    175 UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles)
    146 Vehicles and Fuel tanks
    1 Special equipment

    Russian losses 2025-02-19
    1. Violent losses, like Tiananmen Square again today ✊✊💥💥

Do you remember when we weren’t allowed to be positive about the losses during the first year?

    1. Macron may have stolen it before everyone else, but the chance that he messes up, then stumbles and faceplants in the gravel is sky-high.
The Nordics stand very united and have risen – the lion has risen.

  3. Interesting theory about China and the minerals. If nothing else, it can serve as a little signal to the carrot-colored hairstyle: “Now you are messing up the minerals you so eagerly want and along with them any world political significance at all. Pull yourself together!”

    1. Trump came out strong and it is still my belief that his intention was to come out on top with lucrative contracts for the USA.
That mineral deal and his desire to sell weapons to UA/EU suggest it.

But he also has three years of Biden’s baggage to deal with and his negotiating technique is somewhat unpolished.

  4. Trump and Putin are somewhat distant and detached in their attempts to create peace in Ukraine. Like a ritual dance from the 18th century. Is it even a negotiation? More like a napkin sketch, I would say. If even that. It’s mostly smoke and mirrors and dead ends. Still, it’s good that Trump’s lukewarm commitment to Ukraine is being revealed. Americans are moderately interested in a shitshow war in Russia’s backyard. But they are happy to sell weapons for it. It’s good that things are being clarified and that Europe must step up.

  5. EU.

    U. States of A.

    Canada. Greenland.

    Ukraine.

    NATO.

We draw an arrow from Ukraine to the EU.

In short, if Canada (let’s skip Greenland for now) becomes a U.S. state, what happens to its NATO membership? The U.S. can’t really have dual membership, can it?

And vice versa, if Ukraine becomes a member of the EU? Regarding NATO, nothing changes. But why don’t we switch so that the EU becomes a member of NATO? Is there any difference compared to Canada becoming a state and enjoying U.S. membership! Similarly, if Ukraine becomes a member of the EU and the EU is a member of NATO like the U. States of A. is?

    1. Austria and Ireland are not members of NATO, I don’t think Ireland even has its own defense but relies on the UK.

Then one should remember that when NATO votes on each country’s contribution, the country in question is not allowed to vote. So if the EU were to be seen as a country, Canada, the USA, the UK, and Turkey would decide for us.

      1. Not if Canada joins the USA, the UK reverses Brexit, and Turkey is admitted to the EU. All three cases have been discussed. Then only the USA will vote on us.

    1. Last night, Ukrainian UAVs attacked an oil refinery in Syzran, located 1,000 km from the Ukrainian border. Russia’s porous air defense failed to prevent the strike on the facility, which processes 8.9 million tons of oil annually.

  6. Kellogg feels quite overplayed but he continues to speak out.

“Keith Kellogg: “We will listen. We are ready to provide what is needed. We understand the need for security guarantees. Part of my mission is to listen. Then I will return to the US, talk to President Trump to make sure that we understand everything correctly.”

    1. The question is not whether Trump is the only one who can broker peace. The question is whether he can do something that, for example, Biden could not have done even if he wanted to, and there is nothing to indicate otherwise.

With Russia’s position and imperialistic ambitions, there is nothing else to do than what is already being done: defend, strengthen, and strike back. It is not possible to negotiate with a revanchist USSR.

    2. I think all these divergent statements indicate great disorder.
But the preparations were absolutely enormous, and it was a serious attempt by the USA to colonize Ukraine and only gain a lot of benefits.

  7. Ukrainians and others are no longer welcome in the USA.

“The Trump administration has suspended all immigration applications filed by migrants from Ukraine and Latin America who were allowed to enter under Biden-era programs. The initiators cite fraud and security concerns, – CBS News”

    1. Unfortunately, the trend continues. But we’ll see, for now it’s mostly the kind of things Trump does to everyone. For a little while longer, he and the USA have the opportunity to show that they still stand for self-determination and democracy.

  8. I pondered a bit on the issue of China and the possibilities of them siding with Europe against the USA. I am skeptical.

China could have early on taken the chance to pull Putin’s ear and ensured that the war ended, thus gaining honor and fame for their peacemaking efforts (even though the Nobel Peace Prize was never a possibility). It would have normalized the situation, and they could have continued exporting to both the EU and the USA.

Instead, they chose to stand behind Putin as much as possible, while greed allowed them to import very cheap oil and at the same time replace the West as suppliers to Russia (I argue that it was a mistake to stop selling to Russia; we should have continued with everything that did not benefit their war industry, increasing prices by 10-20% instead and donating the surplus to Ukraine).

It is now obvious that Trump is siding with Russia and is on the verge of becoming their savior, just as many of us have feared. Not only is he echoing the Russian narrative, but he is also adding even more lies to diminish Zelensky and Ukraine’s chances of winning the war.

Apparently, he seems to think that Ukraine is a third-rate country that he can trample over at will, but he has underestimated Zelensky, Ukraine, and Europe’s willingness to stand up for what is right.

(So far, he doesn’t even have the support of the US population, as a majority still opposes Russia and supports Ukraine. But if he lets his propaganda machine run wild for a while longer now that no one is stopping him, that could change.)

In any case, Trump is on a direct collision course with both Europe and Ukraine.

Sure, one could say that we should wait and see and just ignore what he says, but that would be burying our heads in the sand because what he says already has an impact, and nothing he has said so far indicates that he wants to give Ukraine a fair peace. (If anyone finds anything positive pointing in that direction, I would like to hear it.)

    Back to China.
I believe the chance of China now siding with Europe against the USA is minimal.

The USA is indeed on a collision course with China regarding trade, where the USA is trying to become less dependent on China, but the USA is as big a market for China as Europe. I strongly doubt that China will dare to support either side, as they have too much to lose and probably want to stay on good terms with both parties.

The USA + EU account for 30% of their exports, 15% each. Russia, on the other hand, accounts for only 3.3%.

Perhaps they are considering whether to pursue their own line and throw Russia under the bus without upsetting the USA and Europe, but unfortunately, I think it’s too late for that now. Or possibly too early.

If they see that Trump’s attempts to create peace fail completely, it could, however, present a golden opportunity for them to step in as the adult in the room and end the war without burning any bridges except with Russia. Additionally, they could then offer Ukraine a better deal for the exploitation of their natural resources, as they are accustomed to pricing themselves in to make countries dependent on them.

If this drags on for about six months, Russia’s economy will be so bad that they could probably do the same there, promising to help in exchange for being the ones to extract the resources. We have discussed the possibility that the USA may have been trying to drain Russia and therefore not supported more than they have. It is not impossible that China is thinking the same thing. “We support Russia just enough until they break, then we can easily take over most of the country.” That may be the reason they haven’t mediated peace earlier; they haven’t felt that Russia has fallen deep enough yet.

    1. I don’t know if we can call it a fair peace, but I think Russia will be pushed back to before the full-scale invasion attempt. That’s what I hear some Americans saying, the justification being that even Obama didn’t provide weapons to Ukraine in 2014, he even said that sending Javelins to Ukraine could escalate the conflict. Probably why the bridge is allowed to remain.

The negotiations in Saudi Arabia didn’t even set a date for new talks, so it will take time, in other words, and time is on Ukraine’s side if handled correctly. Signs that we are on the right track are that Europe is talking about a gigantic aid package and then Trump quickly responds that he has weapons for sale. I think that carries quite a bit of weight, and Trump doesn’t seem to have the same conscience about what happens to the weapons once they are sold.

I listened to the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter’s podcast “Politics” yesterday, where they claimed that during Trump’s previous term, American presence in Europe increased despite rhetoric to the contrary.

I might be a bit too positive about the USA, we’ll see if I have to change my mind.

      1. We’ll see, unfortunately I think it seems like Trump is eager to be friends with Putin because he believes that’s what he has the most to gain from. If that’s really the case, there’s a great risk that he will also hold back parts of the arms sales, even though it will probably go against his own interests. His statements so far have already started to make Europe realize that we might have to rely on ourselves even when it comes to arms production.

He hasn’t eased Biden’s restrictions, we don’t seem to be any closer regarding the Gripen, and above all, there hasn’t been any new budget allocated for support to Ukraine. He could very easily put pressure on Russia just by hinting that he might consider easing the restrictions, or by ensuring the adoption of a budget “in case it will be needed,” but he’s not doing anything like that at all.

As I said, we’ll see. I haven’t completely given up hope on the USA yet. If he faces enough criticism, even from within the USA, maybe he’ll realize he’s on the wrong track. So far, it’s the Russians who are cheering while the Ukrainians feel betrayed.

    2. The only thing China would need to do is say the magic words “we support Ukraine’s territorial integrity” and then talk about international law, the prevailing world order, and China as a global conscience. And then quietly start getting Chinese complicated with all the under-the-table support to Russia.

Continuing to support Russia or even increasing it will eventually lead to sanctions being lowered, and to me it’s pretty clear that Trump does not oppose the official US line of trying to torpedo China if they can, as they did with Japan. And INCREASE the support, China will need to do it because otherwise Russia will lose this war.

China knows this and that there is more to come.

France and Germany would like to have good relations with China and surely other countries in Europe as well.

And then a little geopolitics on top of that – if China can weaken the USA and strengthen ties with the EU, it is a very big shift in their favor. They will never be able to improve relations with the USA, it’s like my job, the better job I do, the worse my colleagues like me because I make them look worse.

China has been trying to break into Europe since I started dealing with them in the early 2000s.

I am waiting for Trump’s reaction within a month –
      – completely satisfied and happy
      – accusing the EU of wanting war.

THEN it will be just like with Biden and Scholz that I KNOW. And then the whole world will know after that 👍

      1. Take this one step further and then we find ourselves in a world with the victorious good guys Ukraine/EU and the enemy’s enemy Soviet Union 2.0 (i.e. China) and the defeated losers the Axis powers 2.0 USA/Moscow. And that China then expands its influence and power, just as we allowed the Soviet Union to do, is something we will have to swallow. Perhaps there will be a repeat within a century.

  9. I wonder if Trump is the one being used as a frontman, allowed to ramble on as he pleases, while others are actually pulling the strings in the background? Hence the triple and quadruple messages that keep coming. They let him talk because they know it’s a smokescreen, so they can handle the rest behind the scenes and then tell him and his ego that this is good for him when they’re done.

I’m not sure if the USA has sided with Russia, it’s just that Trump is talking as usual, wide and without context. But something else is going on behind the scenes. I don’t think Kellog is outplayed, otherwise, he would have been outmaneuvered and silenced. It’s often said that reality surpasses fiction, and in this case, everything is fiction; we know nothing about what’s going on, only what the media and other platforms trumpet.

I try to avoid ridiculing leaders, calling them stupid, unintelligent, etc. You don’t reach that position if you’re completely stupid, not Trump, not Putin, not Xi, or anyone else in world history. Using lies, conspiracy theories, etc., is another matter, but if you can gain power through it, then it’s clever. Not necessarily good, fair, or beneficial to the population, but clever if you want power. You can’t brainwash a whole or half population if you’re stupid.

For example, I strongly dislike Magdalena Andersson and the folks in the Green Party, but I don’t consider them stupid or unintelligent. They do what they’re supposed to do because they are smart. Whether I like it or not. The Green Party said they would close nuclear power plants, the Social Democrats agreed. Yet here we are now cursing it. They were smart! They informed us! In plain sight! Maybe we are a bit stupid in that case, “we didn’t see it coming!”. Yes, we did, but we ignored it!

    1. When it comes to the Green Party and the Left Party, one should have listened to what they said because they did exactly what they said. But when it comes to Trump, one should consider everything he says as smokescreens because there is someone else behind him who actually makes the decisions?

Trump has always been against Ukraine, and after becoming president, his statements have gradually become worse and more in line with what Russia communicates. I believe there is a great risk that you will end up thinking, “I didn’t see it coming,” when he is done if you ignore his statements.

Of course, I hope you are right and that the USA suddenly does the right thing. If Trump faces enough resistance or finds another deal that he perceives as better, it may of course happen that he changes course abruptly. He doesn’t seem to have any problem making statements and then completely ignoring them and pretending nothing happened as long as it benefits him.

We will probably get the answer soon, at least during this year.

      1. Just like that. One must “get to know” the communicator as they are not the same person. If one believes that everyone is cast in the same mold and speaks and reacts in the same way, then problems arise.

      2. I believe the risk is high that you will end up standing there thinking “I didn’t see it coming.”

No, I won’t need to do that, as I haven’t closed the door and I am absolutely certain that I know what’s what today. I keep the doors open precisely because I know that the truth can be better than fiction!

    2. A description of intelligence is that one can attack a problem from several different angles, thereby increasing the likelihood of finding a solution, perhaps even several, and then one can choose the best one. That’s how I see Trump’s administration right now, sending out signals/making statements in all directions and then choosing the best option after seeing the reactions of others.

    3. I am, as known, waiting for the sign from Trump

      – is he now satisfied and leaning back

-will he accuse the EU of warmongering and being sour

Yes, there is something behind Trump, the USA always does what is good for the USA but also writes the history that is a world conscience.

Just look at how Biden drove this for three years…

One simplifies if one pins everything on Trump

  10. I have desperately difficult to reconcile the chatty orange figure who, when starting a sentence, has no idea how to finish it, with the word intelligence. I can imagine that Trump in some sense can act smart in specific contexts. But it is devastating that he himself and a large part of the Yankees believe that this cleverness can be applied to the world’s most powerful position. A Swedish gang leader can be smart in their environment, an urban suburb where all decent norms have collapsed. In that context, it may be considered “smart” to threaten small business owners to pay protection money and then recruit young children to explode and shoot if payment is not made. However, it would not lead to a good result if we were to choose such a gang leader to govern the municipality in a local election.

    1. 👍 Fun, I was about to write almost exactly the same thing, was thinking of comparing it to mafia bosses and drug barons who could also be called smart, but hardly anyone we want to rule the world, although I didn’t have the energy to finish my reasoning.

      1. I have tried to dismiss the comparison with gang leaders and mafia bosses, but it sticks like a fly on flypaper. With your comment, it stuck even more…

    2. Westley Richard

It’s impossible to ignore that Trump is acting like a gang leader who is having issues with the neighboring block that they used to cooperate with. They send in a cocky guy (Vance) who goes after the biggest guy, who is also sick (Scholz, German economy), and further humiliates him by supporting his angry little sister (AFD) and suggesting that she could take over if he doesn’t behave.

We can only hope that something good will come out of this. Europe is turning into one big local park that is constantly losing ground in terms of influence and economically.

The positive aspect is that we are upset that an even worse gang leader (Putin) on the other side of town has gone after our friend (Zelensky). Hopefully, this will make those of us who wore buttons saying “hands off my friend” come together and set aside old disputes about the curvature of a cucumber and focus on what is important.

  11. I have tried to dismiss the comparison with gang leaders and mafia bosses, but it sticks like a fly on flypaper. With your comment, it stuck even more…

    1. Peter Den Större

If China were to stand on the side of the EU and Ukraine, it would only be to slap Trump in the face. But of course, that will not happen. The Chinese primarily want to challenge US hegemony with the help of Russia and a couple of other guys sitting at the back of the classroom. Assisting in the dismantling of Russia is definitely not in China’s interest.

      1. Now Russia has managed to dismantle themselves pretty quickly, I think 😃

And the EU has just decided to completely ignore the USA and their newly imposed punitive tariffs and peace mediation.

Surely there is some room for China to make a move here?

Ukraine has also had delegations in China since the summer of 2024.

  12. Sitting in the car on the way to work just after 7 and seeing that Kima stirred up emotions, lucky to be in the Caribbean 😳

Will try to elaborate on this in a further post 👍

Everything is not black and white, and there are many degrees of approaching each other that do not necessarily belong to a province of obedience.

I also saw that Trump demands a re-election in Ukraine to continue the peace talks.

Spontaneous reaction is that everyone except Trump and Putin among world leaders think Zelensky is doing a good job, and it is my strong opinion that Zelensky has just risen and we have barely seen his inner Churchill yet.

    1. If you mean me, I’m not upset about China, just wanted to complement with how I think.

Of course, I agree that maybe China isn’t the best to get in bed with (although when it comes to trade, one could say we already have). If the USA continues on the current path, maybe in a couple of years, China will be seen as a role model in comparison! 😂

Zelensky outshines both Trump and Putin. Neither of them would have stayed in power if the roles were reversed.

  13. “Ryska medier rapporterar en explosion vid oljefältet Radonezh i Tyumen-regionen i Ryssland.
Explosionen ägde rum under reparation av utrustning.
23 oljekällor stängdes av efter händelsen.”

    1. Peter Den Större

Isses, 12 sources had their taps tightened, if RU manages to scrape by on the margin, this will be difficult to handle. If these volumes are not meant for the front, they were probably intended for export and cash reinforcement. Good either way.

    1. Not the bingo but UA has carried out a total of 62 attacks against refineries where the condensation towers have disappeared in a fire cloud.

  14. For those of you who haven’t read Cornu today.
Do it. It’s about a presidential order that requires courts and agencies to interpret the law according to Trump’s directives, or else be fired.
Confirms that the USA is heading to hell. All worst-case scenarios are now conceivable.

    1. Sounds like the USA will turn inward?
In that case, there won’t be any direct threat and then the EU can increase at the expense of the USA, right?

A weaker USA is actually not so bad for us since we have been somewhat restrained by the USA.

It’s laughable to think that we wouldn’t be able to handle an attack from Russia if we sharpen up.

And China’s geographical location is absolutely terrible.

      Gotta check out Cornu 😀

      1. The problem is that, on the one hand, the EU is a dinosaur with concrete shoes, and on the other hand, there are fringe elements that want to destroy the EU.

    2. Westley Richard

Oddly enough, it’s not news on CNN, BBC, or Politico?

Maybe it was a bit hasty to declare Trump a dictator.

Sometimes I can be very cynical.

        1. Westley Richard

I interpret this as meaning that the legislative and judicial powers are not affected, but that it only concerns the state executive power. Decisions made at the state level are also not affected.

The USA already has ministerial rule like our neighboring countries Denmark and Norway. I get the feeling that they want to avoid the ministerial rule and the directives issued from being questioned.

          1. Yes, better expressed than what I wrote, the legislative and judicial powers are protected by the constitution. So it’s a bit early to declare a dictatorship.

      1. My somewhat amateurish opinion is that American courts are protected by the constitution, directly (the Supreme Court) and indirectly (the constitution also grants the right to create other courts than the Supreme Court through congressional decisions).

        So hardly courts.

  15. “Ukrainian aviation continues to operate in all directions. Destroying the remains of a house with ammunition and a group of Russian military personnel in the Kursk region.”

  16. This comment section is either having a positive day about Trump or a negative day about Trump, never in between, and it’s hard to find anyone who stirs up as many emotions as he does 😀

Personally, I think he and the USA are completely irrelevant right now, especially since Trump wants the USA to sell weapons to the EU that can be sent to Ukraine.

    1. Here is a crossroads for the USA.

Either the war continues and the USA gets to sell weapons to Europe, some of which then go to UA.
Or the war ends and then they want to sell to NATO countries.

Regardless of which way they turn, Europe and the NATO countries are involved, and they depend on them so that the arms industry does not decline.

    2. I can only agree that Trump is irrelevant! The important things happening outside the US right now are in the EU and in RU. (So you can argue about China as much as you want. I don’t do business with them.) DJT will come up with mischief as best he can, but that doesn’t mean that every single one of his statements is interesting.

A number of writers on another well-known, but not world-leading, blog have built an identity with a campaign first against Trump, and later against the whole USA. To such an extent that I suspect it is organized. (Remember where you are…)

It is a relief for the soul to come here and be part of both relevant and positive thoughts.

      Keep up the good work!
      🙂 No. 10, but actually No. 8

    1. I don’t think much of Jan Eliasson’s opinion. One of Palme’s boys. There are many, many more in that gang who have a rather strange view of reality.

      1. Regarding Jan Eliasson. This is what he said on Twitter in April 2022. (at least that’s what it was called then)

“Dangerous escalation underway in Ukraine with massive Russian offensive and heavy military assistance on its way from US, UK and others. Brinkmanship could lead to NATO/Russia confrontation. Time to focus on de-escalation and diplomacy. This nightmare is getting worse for all.”

        https://twitter.com/JanKEliasson/status/1519970669072633860

His stance in connection with the whistleblower at the UN was not nice either. However, I don’t remember the details. It was probably about abuses committed by UN forces in Congo. If anyone is interested, they can search for it.

        1. Westley Richard

Some people, like wines with too low tannin content, have trouble aging with dignity.

Jan Eliasson is more like a French country wine if you remember those 😀

  17. ⚡️Trump called Zelenskyy a “dictator without elections.”

According to him, the Ukrainian president “must act quickly,” otherwise he risks “losing the country.”

“The modest and successful comedian Zelenskyy convinced the US to spend 350 billion to enter a war that cannot be won and should not have been started,” – Trump writes.

Dump from Truth Social in the post.

    1. Post: “Donald J. Trump @realDonald Trump
Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and “TRUMP,” will never be able to settle. The United States has spent $200 Billion Dollars more than Europe, and Europe’s money is guaranteed, while the United States will get nothing back. Why didn’t Sleepy Joe Biden demand Equalization, in that this War is far more important to Europe than it is to us – We have a big, beautiful Ocean as separation. On top of this, Zelenskyy admits that half of the money we sent him is “MISSING.” He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden “like a fiddle.” A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left. In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only “TRUMP,” and the Trump Administration, can do. Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy probably wants to keep the “gravy train” going. I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And

    4. I think that Trump is really making maximum effort and doing everything he can for Ukraine now. Incredibly smart and cunning negotiation technique that us mortals do not understand. Not until he delivers the final blow and takes down Putin and Russia will we get it!

Yes, I am being ironic if that wasn’t clear.

      1. He seems obviously upset about being denied his mineral and energy deal.

And if he cares so much about democracy, then maybe he has to accept what happened during the last term?

I tried to find hope and glimpses of light in Trump, but now I probably have to bring out both a microscope and a telescope to possibly find something…

        1. Same here. One can wonder how things are. Or how they are at a standstill. Perhaps it is the case that Trump is just American and sadly uninformed about how the world looks, plus he is filled with his own importance. Then it becomes what it becomes. A debacle. How will he find his way out of this?

    5. Westley Richard

I can’t express myself better than Macron’s precise words, “France has difficulty understanding the logic behind Trump’s actions.”

      1. Jeez! That statement will be hard to back away from or do damage control on.
No, now no one can save the situation from behind, even if they want to, Trump has officially thrown the EU and Europe under the bus.

Well then, now we know. We’ll have to step up and refuse to buy from the USA and build up our own defense!

        1. Since everything you write is true, I couldn’t do anything else, of course. We would have risked a quantum collapse that would have torn apart the foundations of the universe.

I promise, it was the first and last time, but after your sneaky claim, I couldn’t resist. 😂

  18. Trump’s actions, if nothing else, statements absolve POTUS from all responsibility towards Russia for not giving Russia what they want. Where does the responsibility lie?

    1. It’s not often you see such a total disaster actually.

If this is 5D chess and Trump’s plan from the beginning, it’s probably high time to change course.

      1. Theory: is about dumping all responsibility on Europe to shift all focus to China. Evidence: Trump will not lift a finger to help Russia drive Ukraine out of Kursk. Or will Trump send American troops to Kursk to help the Russians remove the Ukrainian soldiers who have dug in there?

  19. The login johanno1: runs Safari on iPhone and only manages to log in on a few occasions. Most of the time, I have to order a password reset link and then I can log in with the new password. I don’t know if I have any tab somewhere that is logged in and causing trouble, but it should disappear after changing the password.

    1. Those problems also happened to a customer about a month ago on a completely different website (which was not WordPress). They had to reset a few times. It eventually got resolved, but we never figured out why it was acting up.

However, I have a couple of theories.

      If you use multiple devices:
What I suspect can happen is that the password is saved in the browser on one device, not by checking “Remember password” but through the browser’s own function. Then, on another device, the password is reset.
When you then log in on the first device, the old password is used even if you manually enter it. Because it’s not in that browser where the reset was done, so the new password hasn’t been saved.

If you only use your mobile, it could be for the same reason if the browser doesn’t understand that it should update the password when changed but uses the old one instead.

Anyway, try clearing the cache for this website and also see if you can delete the saved password (but be careful not to delete all saved passwords for all websites).

Then reset the password again. When you log in after that, make sure to check “Remember password” (it’s not permanent, but then it should work correctly for quite a while at least).

Let me know if it still doesn’t work!

The Accent man has been positive in recent days regarding the developments south of Povroske.

It seems like the UA has recaptured some territory.

  21. Westley Richard

All Western media that I have scanned questions Trump calling Zelensky a dictator, etc.

I added a link to Trump’s friends at Fox who interview some GOP senators. Those who speak try to smooth over Trump’s statements. What they say behind closed doors is not known, that they would praise Trump behind closed doors rather than representing their party is unlikely.
Individual senators and congressmen from the GOP are much more important than Europe coming up with derogatory terms as other countries do not like criticism of their leaders and often close ranks. We have fresh memories of when Vance scolded Europe and I had friends who took it personally. If our European leaders were to call Trump an idiot, it could have the effect of the US rallying around Trump.

We need to have patience as Kristersson said, at least if one is leading a country.
Until this forum is world-leading, we can probably write in plain text.

  22. Westley Richard

Amazing women that we have in Europe. Mette takes the lead and increases the defense budget. I will go down to the beach tomorrow and grill some red sausages and sip on some Wibroe while I gaze over Kronborg and hope they have polished the cannons. All to honor our Danish sisters.

If one can then read about Field Marshal Johan’s plans for the continued counterattacks at Povrovsk, the day is complete.

Convinced that Johan will fix it with some unit maps and a bottle of rum.

  23. If you are going to negotiate with Russians, you should say that if you want Crimea, you will lose Kaliningrad. What do you say to that?
