Ukraine daily update March 28, 2025

Friday intoxication is coming – don’t worry, or maybe it’s time to start worrying now when Dengamle is going to try to join…

Yesterday you really had to make an effort and a lot came out, there was some whining but the contributions were long and many.

For example, further suggestions on Putin’s test of NATO Article 5 this autumn, but I don’t know if it has the same effect on Europe in terms of risk. Firstly, IngenhAning had a proposal regarding the Nordic region, and then possibly someone wrote about the Phoenician fertility god Bal on johanno1.se that Norway is in a precarious situation.

There has been much written before about Putin increasing presence in the Arctic, and then Putin and Trump have plans for some deal up there – months have passed since all of that flew by. I don’t really care much about what Trump says because it’s a cloud of disinformation every day that drives you crazy if you try to interpret it.

It is widely known that Putin will introduce secondary forces in Belarus if you have been reading johanno1.se in recent months, and now that information has also come from other sources – no one will attack from Belarus, it is important to understand that.

Belarus is neutral and Kaliningrad is demilitarized, so the West cannot do whatever they want – we have our democratic little box to deal with, and we don’t have the USA on our side in this.

To be extra cautious, China will send some Special Operations Forces to both Kaliningrad and Belarus, and then threaten with world war if there is even the slightest provocation against them.

The battle will then take place in a nature reserve in southeastern Estonia, which is largely undefended except for our Swedish battalion that will hold the border.

Secondary forces will also be deployed towards Finland, and we have claimed that Finland will not be attacked because even the most historically ignorant, I don’t think the Russians are, and the last time it happened, it was very painful.

The Baltic Fleet will sail in circles just outside our territorial waters with all the Ropuchas and Ivan Greens they have left.

And the Northern Fleet will do the same towards Norway – circling around to tie up troops.

Additional theory –

In addition to the below, there is also Åland of course, but I think they will have Finnish coastal rangers on them within hours, so it is a high-risk operation, reasonably.

The Northern Fleet has been untouched since the start of the war and has a lot of submarines along with amphibious landing tonnage and surface vessels. There are also aircraft up there.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Fleet

What could be attractive is perhaps Svalbard – is it so attractive that it is the target of the autumn operation even?

Low cost – high reward operation, and the Northern Fleet was trained in the summer of 2024 if you remember.

Zapad 2025 also includes the Kola Peninsula – which by definition then becomes the Northern Fleet, I guess.

With the USA out of the picture – do you think Europe will manage to gather a defense for Svalbard?

They might also target Northern Norway, but I don’t see the same strategic value there, and I think they will lose that high-risk event for Europe anyway.

So…

They will target that area in southeastern Estonia and know that they will have to retreat within weeks, which they do with promises of eternal peace and in a cloud of forgiveness and sacked army chiefs who spoke freely under the influence. Europe is happy that we avoided more war, and no one has any thoughts of invading Russia.

Or they never attack, but the forces are in UFA and there are many threats – but then they won’t get the flow of capital back to the USA.

At the same time, they invade and militarize Svalbard and significantly strengthen their strategic position in the Arctic.

Since Norway, in its malice, is fortifying Svalbard militarily, perhaps Russia must protect Russian minorities on Svalbard in early autumn?

https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/russia-accuses-norway-militarising-svalbard-arctic-islands-2025-03-14

Now think about what Trump is doing in his total incompetence and all his spontaneous idiotic outbursts.

-Do you think he is on his way to angering the governments of Greenland and Denmark so much that they ask all American forces to leave Greenland?

-Or maybe he expects Greenland to request to become a U.S. state by September of this year, which is what he says – you need protection (but just not yet)?

The USA and Russia divide the area between them – which Trump has already said they are discussing in one of his rants.

More and more puzzle pieces are starting to fit into the seemingly completely random puzzle 😀

At least France is doing its part –

Macron clarifies that the borders of 1991 apply.

And France has tested its nuclear chain.

Open question about the USA because I am really curious – the dollar is the world’s currency and will not (today!) lose value due to money printing. I lean towards the fact that the national debt has skyrocketed in the last five years and the dollar has become stronger. Since everything is always relative.

They have their deal with the FED owned by banks, but isn’t that a bit like Japan where citizens own the entire national debt? I think 30% is owned by other countries and the rest within the USA – but only 15% (of the total) by the FED.

What I’m getting at is if a debt write-off can be done within just the USA that would wipe out a large part of the national debt 😀

Since the USA is currently driving the global development of this and I can’t for the life of me believe that they are just wildly swinging, I’m trying to understand how they think they will get through this.

There is a big difference between trying and succeeding, and in larger movements, there are too many parameters and unknowns to be sure of success. It becomes “you have a 60% chance of success,” and then the downside of failure, doing nothing and succeeding – that’s what the decision is based on.

My interpretation has been that the USA has been declining for a while and Europe has been on the rise if you listen to the bigger picture, and it was of course the end of the Cold War that drove this change for the better for us in Europe.

The USA sees China as a threat that they probably have to deal with, and the USA does not want the EU to become too strong – that’s two truths in my opinion.

Why is that?

Because the USA presumably wants to remain at the top – they like it there. The difference is that up until now, they have run their protection racket that everyone has paid for, but now it is starting to become unattractive, and if there were suddenly eternal peace, it would probably dwindle to zero, right?

Then the Military-Industrial Complex loses all its astronomical revenues, and when the USA is involved in negotiations, protection is no longer a winning promise for a whole range of different products, both civilian and military, as well as investments in the USA and buying American government bonds, and raw material extraction.

There is a lot the USA would lose in one fell swoop.

China has probably already surpassed the USA economically, if I remember correctly?

Sweden got negative interest rates for the first time in 2015 – before that, it didn’t exist in the economics books, and maybe we avoided being dragged into a more severe downturn?

So what can the USA do THAT IS OUTSIDE THE ECONOMICS BOOKS to save itself this time?

I think it was MigrantJ who wrote yesterday that the USA wants runaway inflation to chip away at the national debt, but many also write that higher interest rates and higher prices will crash the USA.

And now that Trump has started to behave like Trump, there are clear measurable capital outflows to Europe from the USA.

Would the USA benefit if Russia were crushed and the EU emerged stronger from this together with Ukraine – obviously Biden didn’t feel that way, and neither did Trump.

China is on the rise, the EU wants better relations with China – at least Germany and France, right?

The EU would also have 80 years of peace if Russia collapsed – you know, what I constantly paint as the result of avoiding our current global conflict.

Regardless of what one thinks of Trump, the USA, and Biden, it is a red line in US actions that Russia should not collapse like a house of cards.

Trump is also tough on China, just like the USA and Biden were before.

Yes, I have gotten a bit stuck on the USA because I suspect that the USA could be the enabler here.

It is crystal clear to me that if only Europe supports Ukraine to the finish line and holds the border in the Baltics, Russia will turn inwards.

But the USA seems to be trying to counteract this in the ways they can.

And the more Russia increases efforts to NOT turn inwards, the more Europe increases efforts to force Russia to turn inwards – and then we can assume that the USA will also increase its efforts, right?

When the pieces fall, we will see how it went. We are probably entering uncharted territory, but the USA has a cadre of advisers who are NOT idiots. They usually outline the guidelines for the most intricate setups and often come out on top.

It bothers me quite a bit that when Russia seriously starts to falter, they are rescued by the USA of all countries 😡

Watched a clip from UA where they interviewed a crew on an Archer. They were absolutely ecstatic about its performance but pointed out that they hit in almost a hundred percent of the cases. Archer was often used against hostile artillery and they always hit unless the target had moved while the shell was in the air. The group had at most fired 192 shells during a session, sometimes several hitting the same target.
Archer has taken out a large proportion of RU hostile artillery.

  1. US funding for abducted Ukrainian children program restored temporarily, White House still terminating initiative. At least 19,500 Ukrainian children have been confirmed as abducted by Russia, with only about 1,200 returned.

  2. Now there has been quite a lot of confusion with statements from the USA, where one says this and the other that, but the White House wouldn’t say this without Trump backing it up, right? In any case, it’s positive that they don’t seem to want to steamroll Ukraine on this issue.

“Government in Ukraine is determined by its Constitution and the people of the country, – White House. This is a reaction to Putin’s proposal to introduce “interim administration under the auspices of the UN” in Ukraine in order to hold elections.”

  3. “At night, the 🇺🇦Ukrainian military shot down 89/163 🇷🇺Russian UAVs, another 51 UAVs were lost in location due to EW action”

  4. Why does he need the Putler Youth if he wants peace? “Russia’s youth organization ‘Movement of the First’ now has over 11 million members. A third of all underage Russians. Families of these kids are often pressured to join the organization that Putin referred to as a ‘whole army’.”

  6. Thank you for today’s wall johanno1. I believe that MAGA as a political phenomenon is driven by its contempt for what they call “liberal” values. They include various postmodernist projects that have been strongly promoted by the Democrats, and which one can rightfully question the value of.

Without going too off-topic, my view is that these projects are not liberal at all – when trying to force someone to tolerate something through legislation, one is not liberal in my opinion. Instead, these projects become the mirror image of reactionary attempts to impose different lifestyle choices on people.

MAGA is attempting a counter-revolution and tearing down as much as possible in as short a time as possible. They unite in their disgust for decadent Europe and do not want to protect us or be business partners with us. I agree that they surely want to try to make money off us though.

MAGA’s contempt for Europe is very similar to the tones in Russia, and I am becoming more and more convinced that a large part of the agreement is due to MAGA recognizing itself in Russia’s rhetoric. Trump has found a cultural home.

I still believe that Trump is seeking deals but also that they are opportunists – they were convinced that weak and degenerate Europe would back down and that Ukraine would fall only if the USA (which they believe is the most powerful in the world) changed the conditions of the war.

That did not happen. Instead, the opposite occurred, and Trump’s strange policy where he repeats Putin’s propaganda while attacking Canada and threatening Denmark has put Europe on the warpath and caused capital to leave the USA.

I do not think that the USA, with mercantilism, can attract capital from Europe.

Of course, they can try to make us dependent on the USA, but what is the point of acting in a way that makes the USA seem unreliable and puts Europe on a war footing, forging a strong European NATO in steel (complete with the world’s third strongest economy starting an arms race)? It must be very difficult to get Europe to give this up and once again accept the USA as a protector.

If that had been the intention, it might have been more appropriate to strengthen ties with European NATO and promise that the USA will fix everything. It would presumably have been much better received, and the USA would have had greater opportunities to obtain mining rights and expanded bases in Greenland than by rambling on like Trump and treating Europe hostilely.

The USA came out on top in WW2 because they started their enormous industry and supplied themselves and Europe with weapons. Europe couldn’t because only Great Britain remained, and Sweden stood on the sidelines desperately trying to arm itself (which eventually had an effect and led to a thriving Swedish arms industry).

Now almost all of Europe is free, our industries are running, and we have become accustomed to economic (EU) and military (NATO) cooperation. I guess Ukraine will integrate into Europe, and Europe will integrate Ukraine. I believe the new law that gives Ukraine the opportunity to operate beyond its borders is a signal.

I think that if Trump’s policies continue, the USA will not come out on top, they will lose their role as an ally, and through their strange trade policies, they will lose their place in global value chains.

    1. Yes, I completely agree, if they continue like this, the US will shrink and China and Europe will grow. A backstabber cannot expect to threaten their way to good deals. There are more strong players on the field now than in the 1940s.

Before the Friday partying really kicks off… Connect the dots.

    1. “Getting started for real”?
I have already, fueled by the morning shots, rushed around with the walker outside the neighbor lady’s house at 1km/h… at least, and shouted slogans like “come out and play”.
      (She’s on vacation, but still)

Now you need to calm down a bit, do you remember when you were doing bird calls outside Anne Boleyn’s modest building? It ended with her getting a sore throat.

    2. 2:

Even the “seeds” that come from the Russian terrorists’ prince sausages evidently have low quality, sometimes they manage to find a good seed that the Russian laboratories take care of and turn into a propaganda machine within the sport.

Hegseth at the Andersen Air Force Base in Guam: “I’m here on behalf of the President who tells you ‘we have your back’. (Paused for applause, there was none). Not so long ago, I was like you, sitting in my uniform.”

Hegseth has moved to Guam but his reputation has preceded him so there were no applause, perhaps the bosses don’t appreciate playing with information that can be life-threatening for them. 😆

      1. Soon time to take extremely well-paid from the USA so that they can have military bases in the EU. We probably won’t benefit from them anyway if it comes down to it.

A mysterious actor has placed order after order for Swedish weapons with the defense giant Saab. In just two years, orders worth over 35 billion Swedish kronor have been received from the anonymous customer.

The anonymous customer has ordered everything from grenade launchers and anti-aircraft guns to advanced radar systems. Deliveries are scheduled for 2027-2028, indicating a long-term collaboration.

The neighbor lady seems oddly to be more successful 😯
There are rumors that the women in the neighborhood fill their handbags with bricks.
Reminiscent of what Jeanne d’Arc started against the old man in 1431.

    1. What I saw is completely correct, produced by Dier Speigel I believe, who had obtained both email (including the Russian one) and passwords and mobile numbers for both Hegseth and a few others (those who were in the signal chat), and that some mobile phones ARE linked to signal accounts.

Lines down in Pituffik, says Greenlandic telecoms company

In a development that may or may not be related to JD Vance’s visit, the Greenlandic telecommunications operator Tusass has just announced that “all communication to Pituffik is down.”

“The investigation has been initiated and we are trying to re-establish the connection as soon as possible,” it added in a customer update on its website.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2025/mar/28/greenland-jd-vance-europe-ukraine-russia-latest-news-updates

JD Vance’s plane left for Greenland this morning, and according to CBS News senior White House reporter Jennifer Jacobs, scheduled to travel with him and his wife, Usha, were:

National security adviser Mike Waltz with his wife and former Trump homeland security adviser, Julia Nesheiwat

    Energy secretary Chris Wright

US Senator Mike Lee (who appeared to be very excited by the trip to the point of sharing AI-generated visuals picturing JD Vance in Greenland).

  12. If you zoom out and take a look at who is easiest to laugh at, I think Trump is already on the verge of losing. Before Trump, the “establishment” lost its cultural influence. Their politicians were too stupid, with parrot responses and reality-detached ideas. As Johan has written about – they alienated the majority population. How do you measure this then? That is, which emperor is the most naked, because that’s what determines how easy it is to make fun of the situation. Of course, through internet memes! And they are flowing freely when it comes to Trump and his gang!

  13. Greater patterns around Hegseth et al.

“Someone” has started leaking and organizing scandals.

RU or within the USA, who the hell knows 😀

    1. Westley Richard

It is probably controlled from many directions, Russia, China, Mossad, EU, Democrats, internally within the GOP plus everyone who thinks it’s hilarious that their meme is getting attention.
A little scandal always brightens up life if it doesn’t affect oneself.

    2. I believe Pete Hegseth is appreciated by the American military. He has a solid background from his time in Iraq and knows what he’s talking about. The information that no one applauded him when he spoke in Guam comes from an Olga Nesterova at BlueSky. Was she there when he spoke? In war and journalism, anything goes.

    3. Just that! The source is…?
Oh, maybe there was a little mistake…
Bigger patterns are what is relevant, but everyone is constantly being lured into details without intrinsic value.
The issue, the issue, the issue, not the person! Can’t be said often enough.

  14. Welcome back to the historical and legendary Friday binge-drinking session – Nelson Mandela couldn’t make it this week, but he was quite the party animal as we saw last Friday if you remember. Chugging a tallboy at that age was nothing short of impressive.

MXT has promised to further increase server capacity because apparently a lot of South Americans are joining now too – two million from there pushing towards the servers and wanting to join the fun.

There are also three million Swedes according to IT, and all I can say is – don’t forget about the kids and their Friday cozy time, don’t let them sit alone with a bowl of chips and a Friday movie because that’s not being a good parent. Give them a light beer and let them join the Friday binge-drinking session 👍

Dengamle has also understood that it’s binge-drinking Friday today, and according to cryptic posts above, he has apparently been drinking since around 07:00 and is driving around in circles with his walker in the neighbor’s driveway looking menacing – we’ll see how that unfolds, exciting to say the least as he usually comes out on the losing end of these power struggles.

I have found nirvana when it comes to rum at least – Leyende 😍

1889 from Brugal is also supposed to be good but a bit too expensive – working on it.

That’s the image I project at work anyway – was with the CFO today and the usual “what daaay is it”, “FRIDAY”, “Beer and RUM” with loud laughter and back pats before I get my expenses in cash.

I don’t like being up at the head office because in legal, financial, admin, HR, reception, and whatever else, they have had one criterion for hiring, and I think you can guess what it could be when all the managers are +55-year-old Italians and divorced. If you have an errand, you almost have to fight your way there, and you are only there when you really have to be. That office could really use a course in Swedish values.

Anyway – no Friday without funny dog videos, right 🤣🤣

You laugh so hard you fall off your chair, and before you open any links, put down your teacup with whiskey so you don’t spill anything.

You haven’t forgotten to loudly walk around the house saying how much you love blackcurrant tea, which you bought for the purpose AND OPENED, so no one suspects you’ve already started with the cheap booze.

Cat videos are starting to emerge as a viable alternative to dogs.

  15. It’s not always possible to just laugh oneself half to death watching dog videos, so here comes a slightly different pep talk for a children’s bandy team or something.

Suspicious as one is, I believe the whole charade was aimed at starting to work one’s way in with a certain parent even if he pulls off a couple of really funny 🧐

  16. Feel free to post any pictures during Friday drinks – go for it.

Then maybe a few less during the rest of the week so the historical archive doesn’t just become funny memes.

    1. Don’t know who the idiot was who came up with the idea that the advanced text editor wouldn’t be usable on mobile? Can’t even post pictures!

Will have to be a link from when the king just heard that it was time for Friday drinks (notice how the queen heroically manages to keep a straight face even though she knows exactly how grumpy and impossible he will be tomorrow, especially if the lottery ticket is delayed or doesn’t contain high enough losses).

        1. Of course, since then it has only gone downhill! 😂

TinyMCE is built into WP and it feels a bit advanced to offer Gutenberg or implement something completely different when the idea was to offer the possibility of images.

  17. And speaking of drinks, Chat GPT and I came up with the following drink mix…
(NOTE! it MUST be made in a 10L bucket!)

    ingredients:

about 7L of any sweet porridge
    2L cranberry juice
1L sprite or tonic to add bubbles
    Lots of ice
some mini rubber ducks swimming around in the bucket (it’s the Friday night standard)
    1kg gummy bears
Possibly some glitter (to give it that magical feeling)
    Serve in a baby bottle.
    snack: fried cookies

  18. To bring you back down to zero, a UPS driver in the USA earns an annual salary of 2 million SEK, what the heck 😭

    1. DenGamle is immortal, but the risk is that he has become our first POW.

The question is, what should we offer the neighbor lady to arrange a prisoner exchange?

  19. Speaking of cats. I had a cat that fell down behind the bookshelf and ended up hanging on a shelf! so I saw his paws dangling in the air above the shelf below! I rescued him, then he went and DID IT AGAIN just 5 minutes later!!!

    1. Hm, what speaks for him doing it, if one now, like me, considers Trump to be a simple history-less businessman who sees simple solutions to problems he does not understand.
      1. Iran has been a thorn in the side of the USA since -79
      2. Iran threatens Israel. There are many Christian fundamentalists and Jews in the USA.
      3. The oil price is rising, good for American and Russian oil.
      4. Now Iran is weakened, so the people can rise if the USA bombs away the leadership.
And then some points that are a bit conspiratorial speculations, but with Trump you never know.
      5. Russia now has such a large production of Shahed themselves, so Putin has given permission.
      6. The attack is strong enough to create chaos, and subsequent power struggles and civil wars, which lead to refugee flows, helped along by Russia to Europe’s borders.
      7. The attack and ensuing chaos shift focus from Ukraine, Greenland, Svalbard, USA’s transformation into a dictatorship, etc.

    1. So, that’s why he does, and says, such strange things, he has a 3-year delay between eyes/ears, and brain cell. So in his world, the ry is big and strong, and is about to take over Kiev. That explains a lot. He should have a guardian.

  20. Yes, we probably need to put out a search for Dengamle – it was a bit unlucky now when his comeback was announced at Bluesky, so 30,000 people came here and he has failed in his raids as usual.

I think I would have reacted the same way 😶

Removed two about cloud seeding and that Hitler lived and died of old age in Argentina because we must maintain the high standard even on a Friday

  21. I managed to sour in this morning’s post about everything we constantly shut down in Sweden for no reason, things that should stay now when all of Europe is trying to kickstart the arms industry just as we are shutting down all electricity production – a certain warning is issued.

    1. In order to shut down critical infrastructure for national security, they have had to fire directors-general, ignore all experts, reshuffle boards, amend laws, create new tailor-made laws, and come up with new rules that complicate the operations they want to eliminate. All this to push through something that worsened our exports, made the country poorer, gave citizens higher electricity prices, and effectively prevented the scaling up of our production of protective gear when it would be most needed a few years later.

With the benefit of hindsight over the entire chain of events, one starts to wonder – wouldn’t the absolute easiest thing have been to just leave everything as it was, right? The path of least resistance and all that?

Now that the Germans are planning to restart 6 reactors and we can’t, we have also gone a bit further than the diligent Germans in ensuring that the decision could not be reversed.

      1. Today I read that some energy-intensive operations, mainly in the SE4 region, have been forced to close down and there is no talk of any new establishments…

      2. Yes, for critical societal systems, there should be a kind of “supervisory board” that reviews all political decisions that can affect the security/stability of these systems. They should have the power to stop reckless decisions or suggest changes.
Regarding electricity, I believe none of those who made decisions about nuclear power in Sweden and Germany knew Ohm’s law, or knew the difference between a graphite-moderated and a pressurized water reactor. They made their decisions based on emotions, the feeling that if I make this decision now, I will get more votes in the next election.
Democracy is good, but the combination of misinformation and lack of knowledge means that we, the people, vote in individuals who do not have our best interests at heart because we do not know it ourselves.
We should have democracy; everyone should be able to participate and have their say, but for critical societal issues, experts in the field should have the final say.

        1. Some people think we have too many technocrats and others that we have too few. The problem with technocrats is knowing who really knows what they are talking about and who doesn’t. Who decides whom we should trust to know best? In the end, it’s still feelings and politics that decide…

      1. Good thing DenGamle isn’t here because then he would probably have written something about you being exceptionally incomprehensible.

    1. I still have a couple of liters left so it’s a bit too early to say, but it feels like I forgot to think about the percentage. I managed to get a five-liter jug of moonshine from the neighbor that I was planning to dilute it with, but I’m afraid it will turn out watery because I don’t have any more gelatin candies to put in it.

      But it tastes excellent anyway!👍
