Now the war is not exactly going like a dance but at least the toads are stomping mud in their holes and blinking – there is no reason to be upset about that.
However, I am starting to get upset, positively upset, that the EU/USA have no red lines.
It’s like an abused hen in a relationship, you come up with explanations for why it’s not so bad and tiptoe around the house on a Friday night to avoid getting a round from the other hen (gender-neutral here, I got a bit scared of Defmon’s nemesis the other day).
I think we know the toads by now and that they will go after the EU’s soft parts this winter. It can never be proven and if I were Russian leadership I would by now have analyzed the reactions over NS1 and NS2 and come to the conclusion that we can do absolutely anything except drop nuclear weapons over London, no one will care.

Late thought and I am aware that it is not entirely thread-PK but it goes like this;
Ukraine knows that the Russians will blow up the Khakovka dam when they retreat because they are hitting all sensitive infrastructure now. That dam is not hard to take out with planted explosives and I give it almost 100% that it will happen. The Russians get away with everything, murder and desecration of five-year-old children, castrations, knocking out nuclear power plants, wiping out medium-sized cities and wars of aggression. In the bigger picture, a knocked-out dam is not a massive escalation, at least not if you have toad genes and are psychotic.
Ukraine knows that the Russians need to retreat over the Khakovka dam when the roadway is destroyed and that if the dam is destroyed they cannot retreat over the Dnieper with ferries and it will wash away the pontoon bridge.
Ukraine knows that the Russians are rampaging in Kherson and will leave it like a Mariupol or Izyum.
To me, there is some logic in Ukraine knocking out the Khakovka dam and blaming the Russians, all the bad things would have happened anyway.
Morally questionable but you don’t win wars on high knees and red uniforms.
It also shows Putin that they are completely fearless.
Yes, I know, a bit outside what is okay to air and I expect some criticism for suggesting war crimes but I am quite environmentally conscious and the Green Party has said that hydropower is bad because then the salmon can’t spawn so I see it as doing my bit for environmental awareness rather than war crimes.
