Now I might be taking this to the extreme and still paying a sky-high bill but you probably think about taking a long Christmas in Portugal and coming home just in time for Walpurgis Night or something. Turn the heat down to 15 degrees, set the alarm, lock up and have a lovely winter in Portugal. School says someone right away 😀

One has to admit that the lobby for wind power and solar energy has been insanely slick.
They even managed to get the competitors’ electricity price auction shut down and banned on top of all the subsidies.
Can’t the nuclear lobby outbid them so they work for the good side?

If this messes up badly, we might get pre-paid meters in our houses. You top up a card and when the charge approaches zero, the electricity is cut off. If too many don’t pay their bills, small retailers might go bankrupt?
I had it in Egypt and if you were careless, it went dark Friday evening and you could recharge Monday morning
Guess if checking the card was part of the Friday round along with takeout and a visit to the extremely sinful liquor store on a dark back street with drawn curtains. Three kinds of beer and some whisky and a Copt who sold.

We were not going to burn in a stove, we were not going to have a gas stove, we were going to have cheap electricity (summarizing 15 years here)
We were going to reduce our consumption by 8% so prices would fall, we reduced it by 16-19% and prices did not go down.
The very definition of pulling the rug out from under this. I don’t know where people’s pain threshold lies but three months with a 15,000 SEK monthly electricity bill can probably give the enforcement authority a lot to do.
According to the Public Health Agency, I should have 21 degrees at home to feel good, feels a bit like an unattainable dream (or until district heating arrives). I’m going to attach a third pane over some of the largest windows we never open
