I was quite bothered by Expressen’s article yesterday with the “NATO general”.
The original article has made the rounds in the media and no great darkness falls over Expressen even though they should learn to use Google and apply minimal source criticism.
It was a relatively well-made Russian psyops article and the NATO general is apparently notorious in Germany according to Van here in the thread.
Yesterday Clab posted a tweet from Macron that gave some hope and today he holds the banner even higher with a very well-written article from Reuters above about Russian influence in Germany.
This war is one of the few occasions where you have to choose a side. In normal times, you can make a career and a working life by never taking a stand.
Careerists hate this, quick decisions and no clear winner. If you don’t already have high integrity and a well-calibrated moral compass, you will see yourself in the media taking the wrong position all the time.
Zelensky could have done the easy thing, taken the money and lived out his life in a French luxury villa, but he did not.
Germany is one of the last Western countries trying to play all sides and keep the doors open.
Even though we have opened our eyes now, this has been going on for a long time, read below which is well written and almost a white glove on the ground.

As recently as early December, Scholz was listening to Putin’s demands. Is there anyone here who believes he told Putin to go to hell in his best German or that he listened and said he would see what he could do (a middle ground in the discussion to avoid offending Putin). Russian link by the way.

Putin still believes he has an out when Scholz and Macron act like this, they are prolonging the war and suffering.
Sunak, on the other hand, is very clear, cannot be misinterpreted.

German foreign policy has gone very wrong here. Italy had a government change and seems to have calibrated itself correctly and with a bit of luck maybe Macron will toughen up, who knows. But German foreign policy needs a major recalibration.
An idea when these blatant psyops attempts creep in is that we directly email the journalist as some did yesterday to kindly inform them what the primary source is?
Then of course they can choose to keep the psyops anyway but then at least they know?
Russian psyops in the media is now increasing again, I think.

Ahead of a possible upcoming power struggle with China, this was interesting, the US Navy is quite unchallenged and the bad guy fleet is vanishingly small compared to the West’s.
