What is the justification for raising electricity grid prices further?
I remember the big electricity grid price hike race where everyone raised prices with different arguments, often it was deferred maintenance.
Now it can’t be deferred maintenance 10 years later, can it?

Talked to someone from Norrland and in the cities it was not uncommon with LVVP and no stove.
I have guessed that the houses are not different from central Sweden like a moon base and that electricity prices previously were what, 10-15 öre/kWh so reasonably these electricity prices should hit Norrland hard too where maybe energy efficiency hasn’t been improved as much as in SE4 partly due to prices but also because not everyone has unlimited means to invest in something that might become important in the future.

You get used to 18 degrees, what’s less fun is 18 degrees and a hell of an electricity bill.
The house has done well this winter, downstairs I only had on the radiators that were at the end of the line, all other rooms got waste heat from the pipes. They run “indoors” so the risk of freezing was small.
However, I have noted the following at a constant 18 degrees –
– you become lazier, absolutely not as alert as at 21 degrees.
– you want to eat more “bad” food, the body probably needs energy.
– we have been sicker, maybe due to covid I don’t know.
– everyone dresses in sweatpants and fleece jackets so a hell of a lot of washing all the time.

A whole thread and it immediately becomes fights between SE1/2 and SE3/4, right-left in politics and homeowners versus non-homeowners.
Solutions are rarely discussed and often we hear from those who have low costs and everything is spiced with a bit of “serves you right”.
Homeowners are the smallest problem, closed industry and food production is the serious issue here?
That Sweden has lost its competitive advantage against the world in two years, the very definition of pulling the rug out.
It is simplified by blaming everything on the Green Party and nuclear power, even an electricity underclass like me can see that pricing and demand from Europe drives up the price. How wonderful that the electricity bill is made dependent on what happens in Portugal, smart, especially when it can go up or down by 1000% and when it is highest it is half a median income.
What is never discussed is district heating, which is an alternative heating that does not burden existing electricity production, where 80% of apartment buildings/larger houses are connected and 20% of smaller houses and has costs of what, 40 öre/kWh?
Until we have a functioning alternative I would have invested in those, not in expanding but in connecting more customers because there is still redundancy due to it never being trendy, considered a bit boring.
Probably because the lobby has been in wind and solar power.
Everyone who cannot connect to district heating should get a low-interest loan for energy efficiency, geothermal heating or whatever suits the house in question. Better that than burning everything on sky-high electricity bills.

Forgot crashed consumption. I don’t think Christmas shopping was particularly lively when everyone saved for the highest electricity prices ever this winter.

Why is it called -support- when it is our own money we get back?
I think they should have zeroed the VAT for Dec-Feb, that would have been the absolutely fairest and most just because then it goes directly to own consumption.

What does the thread think about electricity prices in January and February?
Last year they were low, now they are low, do you think they will stay low or will they shoot up again?
I want to change electricity supplier because I have had a hybrid contract that hedged against very high prices this winter but if the prices are low they are more expensive than a supplier with the spot price.
