3 killed and 29 injured in Kyiv in Russian drone attacks

The night’s Russian terror attacks once again hit Kyiv, resulting in 3 deaths and 29 injuries. Among other things, at least two residential buildings of 9 and 16 floors were hit. Russia is trying to win the war in Ukraine through terror, and the nightly attacks where civilians are the main target are slowly increasing.

Russia’s Economy

Updated 14:59
Budanov believes that Russia’s economy is strong enough for them to continue the war in Ukraine.
Personally, I guess they can surely continue for at least 2-3 years if it continues as it does now.

At the same time, new sanctions are on the way from both the USA and Europe. The US sanctions will come into effect on November 20. If they manage to be enforced and Russia has not found ways around them, it could hit Russia hard and thus cause their economy to crash much faster.

On the other hand, a deadline was given to Russia instead of applying the sanctions directly, which may allow Russia (or rather those who want to trade with Russia) to find loopholes. What they do is sanction companies and subsidiaries, etc. These are named in the sanctions, making it possible to circumvent them. By simply starting new companies or using completely different companies, those that are not included among the sanctioned ones, Russia has previously been able to bypass sanctions and continue trading. Another risk with the sanctions is that the US government apparatus is closed. This could mean that there will be no resources to monitor the sanctions.

Furthermore, the EU does not seem to be particularly effective in putting pressure on those who clearly trade with Russia, so there is also a lack from our side.

Let’s hope that the latest sanctions will have a strong impact because in the long run, a crashed Russian economy is something that can give Ukraine the edge they need to defeat Russia and bring a fair end to the war in Ukraine.

      1. Did you interpret it that way?

Myself, I wrote that their economy is doing poorly, but I believe they can probably keep going for another 2-3 years if nothing drastic happens. It’s not really a questioning, more like me agreeing that the economy won’t be decisive in the near future?

(For example, if China and India were to stop buying oil from them, it would probably happen faster, or if the Russian banks crash one by one (although the risk is probably small, Putin has too much control and will make sure it doesn’t spread if that happens).

CB500four was also probably on the same page as you, that it might take time since the Russian people are subdued and will endure.

    1. I have reacted to the enormous amount of AI-generated material that is prevalent on social media, and there is surely a large amount that is so well done that I haven’t even noticed that it’s AI-generated.

Still, I consider myself to be quite knowledgeable, so I (think that I) would notice if something is amiss. Many younger people, and even older ones, who may not have the same critical thinking skills, will absorb a lot of false information, which they then spread. The internet has veered off track, where it was actually inevitable that it would end up, as it is not possible to fact-check everything.

I haven’t seen any huge amounts of direct propaganda, but then again, I’m not on TikTok or X either. What I have reacted to are comparisons between different armies, which are misleading, and “advertisements” for various Russian tanks, submarines, missiles, and such.

It is not yet established whether any data has actually leaked.

This documentary is about that, and mainly about Oleksandr who became known and a role model in Kherson because he never gave up. Something that the Russians found out about and could not tolerate.

“Burned”, said Palanytsia: artillerymen of the 28th OMBR captured the occupier for the first time.

Artillerymen of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade captured an enemy saboteur near Kostyantynivka. The servicemen themselves call this case atypical for artillery.

The incident occurred during a combat mission : the soldiers were “following a drone” and returned with a prisoner. This was reported by the press service of the 28th Knights of the Winter March Rifle Brigade.

The prisoner – a man named Oleg – was a representative of an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group and had the task of facilitating the DRG into the city , preparing the “ground” for enemy penetration.

He was spotted on the approaches:
    – one of the fighters took up a position in the bushes, the rest were operating in an ambush.

During an attempt to establish contact, the suspicious man assured that he was “one of his own”, but during the check he “burned out” – saying the word “Palyanytsia” with a characteristic accent.

In particular, the prisoner tried to pass himself off as an Azov fighter, but this aroused suspicion. During his detention, he was shot in the leg to neutralize him and take him under control.

After the arrest, the soldiers examined his belongings: in the bag they found two bottles of water and three apples; a “trophy” was also found, which the soldiers considered useful.

The drone that the soldiers were following was also returned.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian military first forced the Russian occupiers to surrender using a ground drone loaded with explosives.

The incident occurred in northeastern Ukraine in June during an operation by the Third Assault Brigade.

Thanks to robotic systems, it was possible not only to take the enemy’s position, but also to capture prisoners without any casualties among the infantry.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported how the soldiers of the Third Assault Brigade carried out another successful assault on Russian positions.
    war.obozrevatel.com/ukr/zhiti-hoch…

    – Moreover, the combat operation ended not only with the clearing of the invaders’ positions , but also with the capture of a group of occupiers who were afraid to surrender. Ukrainian soldiers broke through the Russian positions near the village of Hrekivka. They showed a video of the successful operation, filmed on GoPro chest cameras.

The fighters of the Third Assault Brigade of the Third Army Corps in Luhansk region carried out another successful assault on Russian positions.

Moreover, the combat operation ended not only with the clearing of the invaders’ positions, but also with the capture of a group of occupiers who were afraid to surrender.

Ukrainian soldiers broke through Russian positions near the village of Hrekivka . They showed video of the successful operation, filmed on GoPro chest cameras.

    How was the operation?

When the defenders discovered the occupants’ dugout, they cleared it with grenades.

What is interesting is that the invaders shouted “we want to live!”, but were afraid to surrender, because they were convinced that the Ukrainian soldiers would kill them .

In the video below, you can hear Ukrainian soldiers literally persuading the invaders to lay down their weapons so that they would not have to be killed.

“I won’t kill you, come out with your hands up! I promise I won’t kill you. Throw down your weapons and come out, you will go to the exchange, you will live,” the Ukrainian soldier shouts to the invader

In the end, the Russians surrendered, and the Ukrainian fighters entrenched themselves in the former positions of the occupiers.

What are the fighters of the Third Army known for?

The operation involved soldiers from the first company of the Warriors Cartel and the third company of the Karakurt Colony of the second mechanized battalion of the 3rd Armored Brigade .

These are units of the Third Army Corps.

The Third AK is a combined-arms operational-tactical unit “East” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The corps can be considered a fairly new structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, because it was created in early 2025. But the Third AK was created on the basis of the 3rd OSH Brigade (and the mentioned brigade remained a separate unit of the 3rd AK). And the backbone of the 3rd OSH Brigade is veterans of the “Azov” National Guard and representatives of the Azov Movement.

The commander of the 3rd Armored Brigade remains Andriy Biletsky ä; his deputies Dmytro Kukharchuk and Maksym Zhorin are no less famous .

It was in the 3rd Armored Brigade that actor Viktor Rozovy fought
    obozrevatel.com/ukr/person/vik…
    – and the list of famous people who were or remain in the ranks of the 3rd Armored Brigade can be continued for a long time.

Colonel Andriy Biletskyi spoke at the conference “Yalta European Strategy , YES-2025”, which took place in Kyiv.

He outlined the key challenges for Ukraine in the field of military technologies and called for the creation of a strategy for the development of the defense-industrial complex.

According to him, the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to maintain an advantage over the enemy depends on this.

  8. In one week, RU dropped nearly 600 FAB over Pokrovsk.

It is UNBELIEVABLE that we are not providing Ukraine with the means to stop FAB.

    Unbelievable 😡

You cannot possibly defend an area if all your bunkers are buried in 100 tons of earth as soon as you fire a single shot at an infiltrating Russian.

    1. Therefore Ukraine should have received the Gripen with Meteor a long time ago.

Even better if they had received a decent number of Storm Shadows and of course Taurus and ATACMS + permission to strike deep already two years ago, before the plans were moved out of range.

A coordinated, large and unexpected attack could have significantly reduced their capabilities.

Biden and Trump, Scholz and Merz were, and are cowardly weaklings.

      1. Yes – especially the USA (Trump+Biden for clarity) who have most ACTIVELY prevented Europe from providing these capabilities.

F16 was not allowed to be sent, we actually know how the JAS Gripen situation turned out, and everything else.

I have seriously considered if the USA has been playing a double game with China against Europe, but in August it seemed to turn.

Now a RAND report has come out basically telling the USA to coexist with China, and it will not end well for Europe at all.

Time to start keeping an eye on China now.

        1. Yes, one becomes a bit pensive about what the USA’s plan actually is. Or if Trump is just improvising and making different decisions from week to week. First he goes hard on China, then he eases up a bit, then it’s hard again, and suddenly he’s super positive that everything will work out because he wants to be China’s friend.

Either there is some well-thought-out plan behind it, or it’s just as random as it seems. Trump is not exactly young anymore and unfortunately it seems like everyone is afraid to go against him and therefore flatters him. Therefore, it wouldn’t surprise me if there actually isn’t a plan but Trump goes on, realizes that maybe it wasn’t optimal, and then adjusts.

  9. 🌊 Belgorod Dam. The dam is leaking water from 07:00.

Units from the 128th, 116th, 68th, and 136th Russian brigades are now threatened. In addition to the personnel, a large amount of equipment deployed in this direction may also be underwater.

  10. Or do you think we have reached the point where Europe doesn’t have much more to offer?

non-existent production for a long time and now our own supplies are low + that all countries’ Supreme Commanders look after their own defense?

and that we don’t have the weapons needed – mass-produced cheap IFVs, robots, and drones?

    1. I believe that everything you mention is partly true, but also that it is an economic/political issue. Germany and France, among others, could do much more, but at the same time, there is a fear that it could lead to a political backlash.

The same rhetoric that Trump and MAGA have used with “America first” and the idea of prioritizing oneself is also spreading in Europe. “We cannot donate more to Ukraine, we must take care of ourselves first,” and just like in the USA, this is heavily driven by Russian propaganda along with the message that Ukraine cannot win against Russia anyway.

That’s why it’s so tragic that Trump won; otherwise, the USA would have continued its support, and it’s not impossible that they would have increased it as well. Europe has not stepped forward to replace the USA’s share, and it also seems that they can’t even buy what they want even if they pay. Furthermore, his victory has also had an impact on European countries, for example, with Musk participating in meetings, etc.

We have bought materials from the USA for 2 billion, which is nothing.

It means that it’s not just about us falling behind in our own rearmament and production. It indicates that we are not willing to spend as much money as would be needed (or if it’s just that Trump simply doesn’t want to sell too much).

It feels like there are lots of factors at play.

      1. Communist rhetoric is starting to emerge in the “resistance” against the governments in Europe.

Current governments are labeled as Nazis or capitalists, the EU is labeled as Nazis or capitalists.

From Sweden, we know that it’s just regular opposition wanting power, but behind them somewhere is Russia trying to incite revolution. V, MP, and S are not Russian parties, but they lean in one direction, which benefits Russia.

They have been trying since 1917 when they themselves got caught up in it, and actively since the 50s.

This is an extremely toxic cocktail, and yes – if you’re unlucky, a country might end up in a deadlock.

Or it might turn authoritarian and fascist instead of trying to counteract – then Russia is also there on the far right 😀

AfD, AfS, Reform, and some within SD have been found to be taking Russian money.

Politicians of all colors are more often than not for sale, and Russia pays well.

Kier Starmer in the UK is almost out now – he doesn’t have much time left.

Merz in Germany has suffered a significant downturn for supporting Ukraine.

Macron has more political problems than he is comfortable with.

The easiest thing for you as a career politician is to not go against Russia. This has been extensively covered on johanno1.se so everyone knows.

And not all indecisions are just indecisive politicians, Russia has influenced through bought politicians, and Merkel has pro-Russian rhetoric now, Schröder is bought by the Russians, and Sarkozy was also paid by the Russians.

Reform and Farage – he has taken Russian money.

        And so on.

The Baltics have DEFINITELY been influenced by the Russians in all indecisions regarding their defense. They have been digging a drainage ditch for almost four years now instead of remilitarizing the border.

The question is whether Europe is running out of time – is it heading in the right or wrong direction?

Considering a significant downturn is looming, maybe there will be even less support for Ukraine in the future?

        1. It feels a bit shaky, and if there is a deep recession, the desire to support Ukraine will surely decrease, when everyone is short-sightedly looking after their own house.

At the same time, if there is a global recession, it will hopefully also hit China hard (or they will take advantage of it instead, as everyone will want to buy as cheaply as possible without thinking about the consequences).

Unfortunately, I don’t think Europe and Ukraine have time on their side if we’re talking long term (4-5 years).

But of course, it’s completely impossible to know where it will end up.

  11. “Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to fight for another 2–3 years, according to Tusk in an interview with The Sunday Times. “President Zelenskyy told me that he hopes the war will not last ten years, but Ukraine is ready to fight for another two or three years,” the Polish prime minister said in an interview with the British newspaper The Sunday Times. Tusk added that the Russian economy is experiencing “dramatic problems” due to US sanctions and “has no chance of surviving” in the long term.”

  12. Ukrainian military intelligence drones from the “Prymary” unit struck again in occupied Crimea, taking out three Russian radar systems, 96L6 (S-400), P-18 Terek, and 55Zh6U Nebo-U, as well as a BK-16 landing craft.

  13. Trump is trying to go after China and India to get them to stop buying Russian oil, but he probably won’t pressure Israel.

    Fuck all of them.

China, India, and the EU: Named Russia’s Largest Trading Partners in 2024, – Bild Interestingly, the European Union (EU) remains Russia’s third-largest trading partner in 2024 despite sanctions.

The trade volume amounts to €67.5 billion, the publication writes.
    Other countries:

Leader – China. The trade volume between the countries in 2024 amounted to about $244.8 billion. China imports Russian goods (primarily oil, gas, coal) worth $130 billion.

Second place – India. The country rose to the second position, although before the full-scale war it ranked only 12th among Russia’s most important trading partners.

It is also reported that trade ties with Moscow have been strengthened by Israel, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Egypt, and Brazil.”

    1. The problem with ceasing to provide weapons to Israel is that if the country becomes weak, it will cease to exist.

Israel is shamelessly exploiting this and they have gone too far in this regard.

Furthermore, Russian influence operations are currently underway in Israel as well.

I will write a bit about China in the future, but if we don’t manage to rein them in soon, things could get lively.

      1. Since the USA does not provide weapons to Ukraine, I might think that Europe and everyone else can stop providing weapons to Israel, so the USA can take care of supporting Israel.

The USA argues that they should not engage in wars and spend money on countries far away that they have nothing to do with. Nevertheless, they seem to have no problem supporting Israel.
Why not let them stick to their double standards and handle it themselves?

If Israel is given too many weapons, Palestine will also cease to exist.

But of course, you are right, if Israel were to be weakened too much, they would not survive considering the hostility not only from HAMAS but also from several surrounding countries (even though it is calmer now than before, when almost everyone seemed to want them annihilated).

        1. When it comes to the USA not participating in wars…

Where I am in the Caribbean, half of the US fleet is stationed and is practicing the invasion of Venezuela 🤣🤣

Yes, all surrounding countries will run towards Haifa if the opportunity arises, and it will happen so quickly that Europe and the USA won’t have time to react.

Israel has been lucky before, but today robots, drones, and biological weapons are quite effective unfortunately, and harder to defend against.

      2. China is interesting as well as India. Why do they do what they do? Also Brazil and South Africa. So, supporting Putin. Looking forward to a possible China article.

        1. I don’t think one should underestimate “the hatred towards the West” and then everyone wants to stand at the top of the pyramid.

If they can push us down, they will do it.

        2. By the way, did you know that the English always had Indians as guards outside official buildings and banks in Hong Kong? They simply did not trust the Chinese.

  14. Perhaps the realization that it is not so easy to wage a trade war against China has prompted Trump to quickly reach agreements with various countries in Asia and also started to speak much more mildly towards China.

“Donald Trump’s tariff and trade strategy is sharply criticized by several analysts. Project Syndicate’s Jun Du writes that the president’s policy has harmed the American economy by underestimating how global supply chains work.

She argues that Trump’s tariffs have led China to permanently redirect its soybean purchases to South America, which has hit American farmers hard and cost the US its largest export market.

”Once supply chains have been reorganized, they never return to their previous state”.

At the same time, Bloomberg’s Karishma Vaswani warns that Trump’s bilateral trade agreements with countries like Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam risk dividing Southeast Asia and weakening the region’s collective influence against the superpowers of the US and China.

”Southeast Asia has rarely been so divided. By individually seeking tariff concessions from the US, countries like Malaysia and Indonesia have undermined their collective influence”.”

Authorities with expertise in the field, including MSB, have been involved.

    – Yes, otherwise I would be lying, he responds to the question of whether he would “seriously consider” a candidacy.

He adds that the decision is several years away and that he will not start seriously considering it until after next year’s midterm elections.

    1. It sounds good MXT. He seems normal anyway.
When it comes to Trump & Co, the only thing missing is for them to appoint Sarah Palin as Secretary of Education.
Her “hello there” statements were quite funny at least. Trump lacks humor and since we have to put up with him for another three years, Sarah could have brightened up life with her very intelligent remarks. Like Alaska has never belonged to Russia. A statement ahead of its time by the way.

      1. Ah, her I had almost managed to suppress. She didn’t really have all her marbles!

Trump was unconsciously funny during the previous presidential term, almost every week he came up with nonsense that made you laugh out loud. He is partly the same now, but now you don’t laugh, now it’s serious and it’s not as funny anymore that the USA is governed by such a “genius”.

It’s also noticeable in the rest of Europe. Last time people dared to mock him relentlessly, this time they don’t dare to let such gems slip by:

        1. Trump is a caricature in some way. Now, John Cleese is too old, otherwise it could have been, if not a new Fawlty Towers, at least a Trump Towers. Perhaps it’s safest for the UK and Cleese if he lets it remain a dormant project.

  17. Sometimes one might think that drawn-out and bureaucratically cumbersome procurements are far too inefficient, but sometimes it also happens that things may be moving a bit too fast.

“🇺🇸🇺🇦 A modest gun shop on a strip mall in southern Arizona secured an unlikely order in 2022: $1bn of ammunition for Ukraine, – FT Contract came from Ukrainian arms agency and covered armoury of rockets and shells so big that on paper it was worth more than Estonia’s annual defence budget.

But retailer OTL Firearms, based in a dusty single-storey building on the edge of Tucson, had no export record, no large storage facility, and no expertise to take state-scale orders. Ukraine wired €17mn upfront, but never received a single round of ammunition from OTL’s then 30-year-old owner.

Now a US federal judge has ordered OTL to repay the full sum, plus interest and legal fees, bringing its liability to more than €20mn.”

  18. “The world’s largest aircraft carrier is on its way to Venezuela with warships in tow – is it really just about Trump’s war on drugs in South America?” asks Sky News’ Stuart Ramsay and continues:

“I doubt it. It’s a sledgehammer to crack a nut that isn’t even there.”

USA’s fentanyl comes from Mexico, not Venezuela, and when it comes to cocaine, it’s Colombia, Peru, and Bolivia that are the big players in the region, writes Ramsay. It’s rather a regime change in Venezuela that is Trump’s motive, he continues.

Ione Wells and Joshua Cheetham draw the same conclusion in a BBC analysis. The administration wants to remove President Maduro, but since 2016, Trump has campaigned for the US to stop interfering in foreign wars and regime changes – therefore, drugs could be a convenient pretext, they write.

“Military analysts have concluded that combating drug smuggling at sea does not require such a large military force as the US currently has there.”
