Today there will be another history lesson in this second messy post, maybe not what you feel is the best value for your subscription money but when left-wing extremists, Islamists and soon right-wing extremists have taken to the streets across half of Europe within the span of a month, I think it’s time to look at history. Now, we did foresee this already in the spring but there are far too many who believe that all the misfortune now descending upon us simultaneously for the first time since the Cold War is random and isolated events – which it is not.
But first Mango-Mussolini Round 2, I haven’t been this pissed off since 2023-2024 when I got kicked out of the other blog for having the audacity to criticize his predecessor, a bit worried that MXT has the admin account and not me, poorly negotiated.
Ukraine refrained from refinery attacks for several days at Trump’s request, Russia bombed electrical infrastructure, and Trump said it only concerned the refinery – okay.
For two days when RU prepared a huge strike with ballistic missiles, the US early-warning department did not call Ukraine, hits right in the middle all over the playing field. If you also see coordination there, then you are free-thinking individuals.
Finally, Starlink was shut down for speeds over +100km/h, the military part that the Pentagon is responsible for but Starlink probably controls, I guess.
Okay, you think now once more but that does not affect the drones flying into Russia, there it has been off for a long time.
However, it does affect the interceptor drones inside Ukraine, those that have a 95% kill rate of the NON jet-powered Gerans.
Here we are now.
My view is that Trump is trying to give Russia maximum payoff on its winter campaign to blackout Ukraine because the measures are tailored to the capabilities Russia now gets the best payoff for. Trump’s contacts have thus sat down with Russian contacts and figured out what needs to be shut down and when in time – think about that a bit.
Earlier when it was FAB, the US stopped us in Europe from sending fighter jets if you remember, so that weapon became devastating. Now it is ballistic missiles and getting rid of the hated interceptors that is a godsend for Ukraine.
The reason he wants to give Russia maximum payoff on the winter campaign is so that Ukraine will finally give up Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizha – that is the whole problem and why Trump is trying to get rid of Zelensky. The goal of the winter campaign is to start opposition against Zelensky so the country becomes political chaos.
For our part in Europe, we can choose to wholeheartedly support Ukraine and fight under the table with the US by breaking all orders and retaliating where it hurts – unfortunately, the US has prepared an economic blow against us that is incoming but we will survive it.
IF Europe at any point starts supporting a ceasefire then the war is upon us, not on the day but over time. Then weak politicians have brought disaster upon Europe for the next 80 years.
Either as a cold war that keeps us busy or an interstate war out in the Baltics – that is Putin’s choice.
This choice we must make here and now, we no longer have the luxury to postpone difficult decisions to the future and even the least morally abhorrent will bring great harm upon us – which it will.
Exactly what we do remains to be seen but sending all the patriot interceptors anyway and swiftly giving Ukraine access to all our satellite reconnaissance and something equivalent to Starlink is one proposal.
I think it is time to establish a no-fly zone west of the Dnieper, we simply fly our AWACS and fighter jets over western Ukraine. Now that does not stop the ballistic missiles but would be a very powerful signal that is also defensive.
Selling government bonds is a good threat to keep, at least until I change jobs and no longer have a salary in dollars.
We have reached this point now.
The long-awaited history lesson –
In recent days, the British Prime Minister has confirmed that BREXIT was deeply influenced by Russia. Boris Johnson says it is a lie but I am convinced that RU was involved and ran dirty operations there and managed to get some attention on the radar. Especially after MI6 said it is true.
Then information was simultaneously released about tens of thousands of pro-Brexit Twitter accounts, Russian ones if anyone wondered, that took over the feed in 2015-2016.
We are not there in acceptance yet but the refugee crisis in 2015 was state-supported and played into this to strengthen the no side.
Here you have, a couple of years late, proof that Russian subversive activity absolutely can make a difference and one can fool countries into completely torpedoing themselves. Not just any country either, where one of the world’s oldest democracies was hijacked and plunged into political chaos they have not even after 10 years managed to crawl out of. The Prime Minister in the UK is now a quarterly job.
When Ukraine has now fought three huge Yandex server halls and more, Russian troll traffic has decreased even if there is now fighting before the meetings about whether it is true or not – of course it is true.
This Nobel Prize-nominated (by myself) deep study is not to find the bright path forward because we know exactly what it ended in – crematoria.
Awakening the European dragon in the wrong way would be a big mistake but that is exactly what Russia is trying to do even if the probability of a successful operation is low. However, they can cause a lot of damage along the way.
My working thesis is that strong centrist governments can still resist this through strong men, women and all other gender identities who push through necessary politics. Pragmatists with a moral compass around the political center. They may be just to the left or right of center, it matters less, and they may cooperate across block boundaries.
If any fringe gets unrestricted power, it will only be different colors of crematoria – everyone hates Jews, that is probably the only thing they have in common.
Then I want to, through empirical experiments and lab tests, figure out roughly how early the Soviet Union sneaked into our soft parts of Europe.
Even though the French had the least patience, school protests have started in several European countries during September.
https://www.axios.com/2026/10/07/europe-student-protests-france-belgium
In France, they immediately turned into riots and destruction where just under 300,000 participate depending on the week. The police cannot handle this so the military has been called in.
The media still describes this as school protests but if you have read Johan No.1 you knew this would come this year. As far from a lone Greta Thunberg with a placard outside parliament as you can get.
Greta was a terrible example because she is now in Paris saying she stands behind the revolution for the terrible life the country’s schoolchildren are enduring.
France is probably one of the Top 20 countries in the world when it comes to investing resources in schools, and the students immediately burned down Nelson Mandela School, which is like a better private school in Switzerland but for students from poor areas in France. I am still trying to understand why we need a revolution.
The Vietnam demonstrations turned into a revolution against the West, and now, a few years into this, our era’s Vietnam movement, the Palestinian movement, has begun to turn its anger against the West instead. In fact, in every country they operate in, there is always a group with placards against that particular country in the marches.
I think Israel has gone way too hard, and there are reasons to protest against that. But as soon as it turns into pro-Hamas, crush capitalism, or support for the Iranian dictatorship – then it’s a completely different matter and one must be able to distinguish this.
Just as protesting students for more funding for schools is a good thing, but riots, looting, rapes, and assaults are not.
This is coordinated and organized – they have taken a good cause, which is more money for schools, and a group that is very easily influenced, young students.
Trade unions and labor movements have also taken to the streets, but they conduct protests in marches and absolutely do not burn schools and buses.
The riots have spread to Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK; Germany probably isn’t far behind either.
Nothing will happen in the Eastern states; in Scandinavia they will probably try, but there are too few.
Spain will soon experience absolute chaos; that country is mismanaged by Sanchez and like an overripe plum.
Russia has its personnel in place, which we provided with half a million Schengen visas per year up until today.
They have infiltrated all reputable organizations that will participate in this.
Russia has the experience, manuals, know-how, and will – this is what they are best at.
The purpose is to lock the countries of Europe and create Gordian political knots so that no decisions can be made.
Preferably, we should all forget about the Ukraine war and Russia.
With a bit of luck, they get their parties into governments or, in the worst case, majority governments, and then it’s jackpot.
Currencies, stock markets, interest rates, financial markets, and finance are fickle little creatures, and nationwide protests can definitely contribute to raising interest rates, crashing stock markets, and lowering currencies.
With a bit of luck, capital will turn to safe havens such as US government bonds instead of burning up here in our chaos.
In France, it is currently students closely followed by the far left and Islamists. A few weeks ago, there were coordinated anti-immigration protests around Europe, so the far right is very close to joining this as well.
We will see buildings burn that have great national, cultural, and traditional value along with churches and mosques. All to create as much aversion and unrest as possible in the social body.
During the 1990s in Sweden, we managed to tackle right-wing extremism, and it has lived a dwindling existence. Everyone has food on the table, school, student aid if they want, free university, somewhere to sleep, and a better life than in 90% of the world’s countries.
The same applies throughout Europe, so if you now stand on the barricades against oppression and poverty in Europe, you have become radicalized and misled.
What one can do, however, is start destroying the country, which will probably be the end result if country after country in Europe does not get this under control. If we fail, a harsh police state with draconian authoritarian rules will rise from the ashes instead of the open democracies we are today.
Zero reasons to demonstrate.
Great potential for deterioration that can lead to authoritarian right- or left-wing governments.
Useless.
Russia is rubbing its hands in pure delight, and the colonel in the GRU unit who has been planning this for two years is so drunk on cheap Russian champagne that he has forgotten where he lives.
My verdict is very harsh, but unfortunately, we have only heard the starting shot so far.
When did the Soviet Union roughly start sneaking into Europe? Let’s start a little earlier.
The Communist Manifesto was written in the 1840s, and there was a communist movement in many of Europe’s capitals.
Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels had not at all thought that Russia was ready or would actually get a revolution. Their plan was that industrialized countries in Western Europe were the most receptive to making a revolution in.
Marx thought roughly like this – industrial workers in Europe were gathered in geographic areas and created welfare, so they had something to seize in a revolution – many people in the same place and a bit away lots of valuables.
In Russia, everyone was scattered, and there was nothing of value; the best for a communist revolution is if capitalism first builds something up and industrializes the country, then you take it.
Lenin crossed out some parts and added when it was his turn – everything would start in Russia and then spread to Western Europe like wildfire.
Except for a couple of attempts in Germany and Hungary, it went badly.
Stalin was no worse than to also adjust when he took over, and communism had always been intended only for the Soviet Union, but the joy would spread globally over a long time.
Communism has existed in our social body from the start, and it’s all about stealing what others have built up through hard work; that’s basically the foundation.
Not to be confused with Swedish socialism, which tried to push from below so one could live on their salary and afford housing – that is very good. Our Social Democrats split off today’s Left Party early, and that’s where the communists sat.
Who or which countries supported the little corporal during the 1920s and maybe into the 1930s?
That did not go at all as I had thought. The French hated Germany on fairly good grounds, and those who actually supported Germany were those who later became the Axis powers; they played with open cards and were proportionally punished. Sweden, for example.
After WW1, banks and companies saw a chance to do business and contributed to the buildup, but as it became clear where it was heading, they withdrew their claws.
You can’t say that any country, bank, or organization secretly supported Hitler in the way I probably thought I would find, a big conspiracy.
Quite like Russia and how we acted after the fall of the wall, really, inviting the brothers in misfortune into the warmth and getting war and misery as thanks.
The problem is that when communism starts to expand, it creates chaos. The middle class and the right become terrified because they are the target group, and the stage is set for an authoritarian fascist dictatorship instead, which becomes just as bad or worse than a communist dictatorship would have been.
Since the start, the goal has been to bring down the West, and it is easier to gain society’s acceptance for their side than what today’s brownshirts have – especially after the little corporal’s ravages.
To spread joy to the world, one must first severely worsen conditions in a wealthy country so that the citizens understand why they should make a revolution, and then it is important that there is enough value in the country. There must simply be a chance for wages, and Marx already understood this when he wrote his manifesto.
Russia is no longer communist in the slightest, but they still want to bring down Europe and have manuals for it dating all the way back to 1840.
A society is built on individuals wanting to work or sell something so they get money to buy something. Some do very well and others less so; no country in the world ever achieves full balance and that everyone has the same amount – it is cosmically impossible.
A centrist policy that tries to raise wages so everyone can live on them and that companies pay a reasonable tax is very good policy. We had such a policy for quite a while with the Social Democrats, and Sweden was at the same time one of the absolute best countries in the world. Now, it was not only thanks to the Social Democrats perhaps but because we played a double game with Germany during WW2 so our industry was undamaged and we could sell to all of Europe.
When someone starts saying that the rich people’s money (and that the lower middle class is included in that definition) belongs to everyone but that they are divinely appointed to administer it – red flag.
When someone fights in small steps to make improvements for those with low wages – good politics.
You only have resources to distribute if people start companies, sell products, hire, and pay taxes and wages.
There is much we have done wrong in the last 30 years and all political parties blame each other, but today in Europe the situation is critical and the politics pursued can have consequences for a long time ahead.
Above all, we are back to a situation where full-time jobs do not allow you to buy a house, car, and have a family in all professions, so we have reached a point where people are dissatisfied – it has been bad politics and we already had good politics in the 1930s with Own Homes, for example, so failing many governments.
That is my opinion.
Reminds me of this, very good very good

Comment:
119 localized attacks out of a total of 260 give 141 unlocalized, resulting in a ratio of 141 / 119 ≈ 1.18.

** Russia turns to new tactics to destroy Ukraine’s energy grid this winter for good
Volleys of explosions deafened Kyiv in the early hours of Oct. 14, as Russia targeted multiple energy facilities powering the embattled capital amid a new campaign to isolate and disconnect the city following a brutal summer of relentless strikes on businesses and critical infrastructure.
While Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy system have been ongoing throughout the year at a low level, Moscow has recently ramped up mass attacks to wipe out power plants, substations, and gas infrastructure for its fifth winter offensive during the full-scale invasion. **

Sounds like Musk is trying to blame Trump, although that of course doesn’t sound unlikely.
“Tech billionaire Elon Musk says that it is neither him nor his company Space X that has limited Ukraine’s access to the satellite internet service Starlink.
”The Starshield systems are owned and controlled by the US government. Any restrictions on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately by the president,” he writes in a post on X.
Starshield is the military counterpart to Starlink and is controlled by the Pentagon.
In connection with US President Donald Trump once again starting to pressure Ukraine – rather than the attacker Russia – Ukraine has begun reporting that their access to the internet through the system has been limited. The system is crucial in the defense against Russia.
Ukrainian presidential advisor Serhij Beskrestnov links Trump’s pressure and the outages.
– It is obvious that this cannot be a coincidence but is connected to the current political situation, he says according to Kyiv Independent.”

At least three dead in Russia’s night attacks on Ukraine
Russia has carried out what is described as intense attacks on Kropyvnytskyj in central Ukraine during the night. This is reported by Kyiv Independent.
At least three people have been killed and six injured.
The Russian attacks began on Wednesday evening and have continued throughout the night. The attacks are still ongoing in the early hours of Thursday, and the full extent of the attacks is therefore not yet known.
The region’s governor Andrij Rajkovyt states that logistics hubs and industrial buildings have been hit in the attacks.
Europe needs to come up with its own solutions to avoid becoming dependent on the USA in times of war. This is what military expert Johan Huovinen tells Nordic Defencewatch.
He believes that Elon Musk’s satellite system has given Ukraine an advantage in the war against Russia. But during the recent missile attacks from Russia, the country has been left without warnings.
– We must realize that we cannot be dependent. This shows that we need to break our dependence on the USA and strive for our own European solution in space, he says.
It is still unclear why the warnings have been limited, but Ukrainian officials believe that political motives may be behind it due to the tense situation between Ukraine and the USA.

Off-Topic, the war in Iran
“US President Donald Trump is considering attacking Iran with the largest bomb they have that is not nuclear-armed. Several sources told CNN.
The 9,800-kilogram bomb is called the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb, abbreviated Moab, and has therefore been nicknamed the ‘Mother of all bombs.’
If the White House decides to use the bomb, it would be a clear escalation of the war, but according to sources, there are doubts about what such an attack would actually achieve.
The war in Iran is deeply unpopular at home, and Donald Trump has therefore reportedly been seeking a way to bring a clear end to the war. Using the Moab could be an option.”
https://omni.se/kallor-trump-overvager-att-anfalla-iran-med-alla-bombers-moder/a/d7boG1
Nonsense!
What is he trying to achieve with that bomb? An extra big hole in the ground?
He is so incredibly stupid.
Agree, but he probably thinks it sounds powerful and frightening.
The goal is chanting MAGAists ahead of the election? USA USA USA !!!
That’s probably it!
Off-Topic, Epstein and Sweden
“Swedish police are investigating suspected pimping, as a result of the sex crime convict Jeffrey Epstein having donated nearly five million kronor to a scholarship for the Stockholm School of Economics’ top female students, prosecutors told P4 Stockholm.
The background is that Epstein was reported in April for having, over nearly fifteen years, arranged internships at international top companies. The suspicion is that the contacts, in reality, may have been aimed at initiating sexual contacts with Jeffrey Epstein personally.
Prosecutors told P4 Stockholm that no one has been formally suspected.”
https://omni.se/polis-utreder-om-epsteins-stipendium-kan-vara-koppleri/a/ElL6xa
“Sexually convicted Jeffrey Epstein transferred several million kronor to the Stockholm School of Economics. Several times this happened directly after his Swedish contact – the businesswoman Barbro Ehnbom – had arranged female candidates for him and his scholarship fund, according to an investigation by P4 Stockholm.
The prosecutor confirms to Sveriges Radio that an investigation into suspected pimping is ongoing, but that no one is suspected. However, according to the channel’s sources, Ehnbom is included in the investigation. She herself says she is shocked by the allegation.
– I have helped talented girls move forward. To call me a pimp because of that. It is so rude to even mention that word, Ehnbom says in a comment.
– I knew nothing, I didn’t know the guy well enough.
A total of 4.1 million kronor is reported to have gone from Epstein to the Stockholm School of Economics. The money has among other things been used by Barbro Ehnbom for conferences, catering, lecturers, and venue rental, the Stockholm School of Economics states.”

Off-Topic, government formation
“At 12:00 today, the parliament will vote on the Social Democrats’ leader Magdalena Andersson as prime minister candidate. Unless something unexpected happens, she will not pass the vote.
The Centre Party’s red line against the Left Party remains, and the Left Party has not backed down from its unwillingness to be a support party for a government they themselves are not part of. Left Party sources also tell SvD that there is no brightening on the horizon.
– The strange thing is not that we do not have a government in place, but that the process has not progressed further, says the person.
The newspaper has spoken with sources in all the red-green parties, and the overall picture is that it will require several prime minister votes before the negotiations really get underway.”
https://omni.se/magdalena-andersson-ska-antagligen-rostas-ner-i-dag/a/ElLOKK
I can reveal how this circus will unfold.
1. MA will be voted down today.
2. The baton goes to UFFE.
3. He will be voted down.
4. The baton back to MA.
5. The Center announces that they will sacrifice themselves for Sweden’s best and abandon one of their weakest red lines, allowing V to move forward and MA to become prime minister, V gets ministerial posts.
6. After a year of constant conflicts, the government falls apart.
You have been through this before.
I fully share your analysis.
Not at all impossible that it will be so.
Would rather see almost four failed attempts so that we get a re-election right after that. It would feel most honest when we voters have seen how difficult it is for the parties to agree.
I agree with you, but unfortunately, that’s not how it will be.
If you want to know anything more, just let me know.
**🇺🇦 Dobropillya Direction: The situation is gradually deteriorating. The enemy is expanding the “grey zone” in both the southern and central sectors, particularly in the area of the “Sunny” microdistrict. This indicates further advances by enemy groups and a worsening situation in areas where stable control of the territory remains in question.
🇺🇦 According to available data, the enemy has captured a group of our soldiers. The information suggests that the prisoners are being moved in groups of 5-6 people, & white armbands are visible on their shoulders. This information requires further verification. If confirmed, it is necessary to establish the circumstances of the soldiers’ capture and their subsequent route. There is also video footage, one of which is AI-generated, while the other may be real.
🇺🇦 Overall, the situation in the area remains difficult. The expansion of the “grey zone” in several sectors creates additional pressure on the defense and makes it more difficult to understand the actual situation on the ground. If the enemy continues to advance in small groups, consolidate in new areas, and expand their zone of influence, this will gradually increase the burden on our units and make it more difficult to hold positions.
🌑 To be blunt: the situation is terrible, and it is gradually becoming even more difficult. I don’t see the point in sugarcoating the situation or pretending that nothing critical is happening.
We need to realistically assess what we have right now.

** 🇺🇦Pokrovsk Direction: The enemy has almost completely taken control of Novomykolaivka. Fighting continues for the remaining parts of the western section of the settlement, but the situation remains difficult. If the enemy continues to press in this sector, they may eventually completely occupy the western flank. Therefore, this area requires special attention, as further enemy advances could affect adjacent areas.
🇺🇦Simultaneously, the enemy is beginning to deploy forces towards Muravka, which has been in a grey zone for some time. This creates the conditions for further attempts to establish a foothold in the settlement and expand their area of influence. Therefore, the situation there should not be ignored: it is important to monitor whether the enemy’s actions are shifting from sporadic measures to attempts to establish stable control.
🇺🇦The situation in Bilyavka is similar. The settlement also remains in a grey zone, with the occupiers infiltrating the area, but they do not have full and stable control. Groups are being hit by our drones and artillery, which makes it difficult to consolidate & hold the positions they have taken.
🇺🇦It is important to pay particular attention to the area west of Muravka. There, the enemy has been conducting infiltration operations towards the northeastern flank of Novopavlivka. This is an important point, as the enemy may be trying to gradually expand their area of influence, entering in small groups and looking for opportunities for further advancement. If these actions are not detected and stopped in time, the grey zone could gradually expand towards Novopavlivka.

** 🇺🇦Novopavlivka direction: The situation near the village of Filiia remains in the grey zone. The enemy is still present south of the village, particularly in the area of the forest belt, and also in the village of Dachne. Given this, the boundaries of the grey zone have been slightly reduced, as the situation in this area is gradually becoming clearer, but it is too early to talk about completely eliminating the enemy’s presence.
🇺🇦In Dachne, our soldiers continue to detect and destroy the occupiers using FPV drones, who are holding certain positions and using the village to facilitate further movement. In particular, a logistical route through Dachne leads towards the same forest belt south of Filiia, where the enemy also maintains a presence.
🇺🇦Dachne remains an important link in the enemy’s logistics in this area. As long as the enemy can use this route to support their groups and positions in the area of the forest belt, their presence there will remain a threat. At the same time, the systematic destruction of the occupiers in this village makes it difficult for them to hold their positions and use the village for further advances.
🇺🇦I will not yet add Filiia to the category of fully controlled territory – the grey zone remains, although its boundaries have been slightly reduced. I will continue to monitor the situation in Dachne and south of Filiia to assess whether it will be possible to completely eliminate the enemy’s presence in this area. 🇺🇦

Elmo clears himself and indirectly blames Krasnov.
He writes that it is neither him nor his company SpaceX that has limited Ukraine’s access to the satellite internet service Starlink.
“The Starshield systems are owned and controlled by the US government. Any restrictions on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately by the president.”

Good and straightforward language. Trump’s halo has taken a hit or more in the wreath, as it should. The reports with mitigating descriptions come from the active Independent, which has interviewed sources in the government leadership, as I understand it. While Trump has harbored resentment towards Europe for its unwillingness to support him in the war against Iran, it is probably Ukraine that most concretely stepped in early with support consisting of its own developed drone countermeasure capability, and has certainly saved the US from using many Patriot missiles. It is hard to understand why anyone would give anything to Russia when it is Russian intelligence that forms the basis for the Iranians’ attacks on American targets in the Persian Gulf.
PS. If you still need to fix the roof, ask MXT for my contact information and I will put you in touch with a company I can recommend. I cannot promise a super cheap price since I only get five percent of the job, but I can vouch for quality and seriousness, as I have had quite a bit of dealings with the company myself.
Johan, let me know if you want the 205:se email address!
Throughout the entire war, it has been obvious to me that Ukraine will emerge victorious with the help of the West. But unfortunately, in the past few days, I have started to doubt. How can they win with both Russia bombing everything with all their might and ability while the USA is causing trouble in every possible way that Trump can think of?
And as Johan writes in these last two very interesting posts, all these riots that are starting to gain momentum at the same time as some begin to say that they can no longer afford to help Ukraine.
And how can the EU withhold money because democracy development and anti-corruption efforts are not progressing rapidly? Zelensky and the government have quite other things to deal with, so to speak, like the survival of the country.
By the way, I saw that some Swedish citizen has been arrested by Russia for trying to enter the country……. Very sad if it is an operator who got caught.
And DenGamle, nice to see you again and in good shape it seems!
Thank you!
And I share your pessimism.
I see Trump’s actions and pro-Russian sabotage against Ukraine as an expression of desperation in the face of a likely loss in the midterm elections. If the Republicans lose both the House of Representatives and the Senate, it will also open the floodgates for more and more Republican congressmen to distance themselves from the Trump administration, which might develop into an internal party rebellion.
We must not forget that the majority of Americans do not like Putin and Russia, and the likelihood that American foreign policy regarding Ukraine will be redirected to the detriment of Trump’s Russia agenda through the tools Congress has.
What Europe and its allies can do, as mentioned, is to show that we are prepared to ignore Trump’s attempts to pressure us into abandoning our support for Ukraine. This by stepping up our support, disregarding American restrictions such as those concerning the Greek PAC-2 missiles, among others.
Likewise, we can discreetly but clearly show that we have our finger on the trigger when it comes to American government bonds while accelerating the development of our own financial systems and payment methods within the EU. Resistance to so-called eurobonds has decreased in recent years, and if we within our union manage to advance quickly in this process, the USA will lose significantly, as eurobonds in some form will be a very attractive alternative to American government bonds for those seeking a safe haven for their capital. In this regard, China and other countries lag behind as serious challengers to the USA.
Since World War II, American power projection has been built on a system of alliances with an extensive network of bases, of which those in Europe are the most significant part. By threatening that, in response to Trump’s betrayal of Ukraine and increasingly open support for Russia, we could limit American access to these bases and other European infrastructure, they will essentially lose the ability to project power in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, thereby accelerating their slide down from their position as hegemon on the world stage.
Congress knows this and the weaknesses Trump has exposed through his irresponsible policies, and that he thereby essentially summons a faster and stronger European integration that will inevitably be forced to sharply oppose American supremacy.
I am convinced that European decision-makers and their colleagues in, for example, Canada and Australia, among others, are just waiting for the results of the midterm elections on November 3rd, after which decisions will quickly and clearly follow once Congress has had time to consider what we may need to do to protect our interests and what Congress can do to adjust American foreign policy to save some of the world order that has served their interests so well for many decades.
Ukraine will never surrender, and Europe will not back down!! After all, we have no other choice but to continue holding on and holding out.
Putin and Trump have missed the train and can only run along the platform, desperately shouting while pulling at the doors and trying to break the windows.
Thank you Johan no 1 and MXT!
“The Prime Minister job in GB is a quarterly job.” As true as it was fun to write👍
The Social Democrats’ distancing from communism began already under Branting. For example, the Social Democrats stood on the side of the Whites in the terrible civil war in Finland, which made Branting hated by the communists. Which was mutual. Gustav V gradually gained great trust in Branting. These two were even schoolmates.
Gustav V also had a good eye for Per Albin Hansson. Erlander writes in his memoirs that at the Crown Prince’s death in 1947, Erlander was very impressed by Gustav V’s dignified way of bearing the grief and maintaining his duties. Even during Gustav VI Adolf, there was mutual respect between the king and the Social Democrats.
During the Cold War, the Social Democrats positioned themselves as close to NATO as possible. Had they joined as a full member in the 1950s, Stalin would very likely have annexed Finland. And we would have bought planes and other military equipment from the USA.
Yes, politically speaking, I still lean towards the right wing of the Social Democrats. But that no longer exists, so I have voted blank in the last elections.
Unfortunately, there is probably quite a bit of truth in what Johan writes above.
Those who want to DJ with a country probably don’t care what the issue being discussed is, the main thing is that a clear for and against is created.
It can be about football, the three-toed woodpecker, wind or nuclear power, Palestine, religion, sexual orientation, etc.
That we then have a number of professional protesters in Europe who travel between countries does not make the situation any better. (Greta will probably qualify as a professional soon)
This sounds really good!

** 🤯🤬 Already more than 850 “Shaheds” have attacked Ukraine since the beginning of yesterday and until 9 a.m. today, – Zelenskyy. “Throughout the entire day yesterday and last night, a massive attack by ‘Shaheds’ continued; not a single hour was our sky free of them.
And this is happening at a time of artificial limitations on the speed of our defensive capabilities. Some were successfully shot down. But, unfortunately, there were also dozens of hits. Obviously, Russia deliberately escalated these strikes after receiving a relaxation of sanctions and seeing attempts to pressure Ukraine. **

** The US has reportedly proposed that European partners consider partially unfreezing Russian assets as part of a potential peace deal for Ukraine, according to the Financial Times. The proposal was discussed during talks in Miami involving US, Ukrainian and European representatives.
One option reportedly involved placing some of the frozen funds under the control of a US-linked entity and using them after the war ends. European delegates rebuffed the plan, which Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner pitched.
But it has startled European capitals and Kyiv, raising questions about the US’s intentions and its starkly different approach to pressing Moscow to end its invasion of Ukraine. **

So they want us to release the frozen Russian money AND hand it over to the USA.
I guess Putin offered Trump a share of the money if he manages to push it through. Or maybe Trump thinks he will raise the interest rate and pocket it himself in the meantime.
I feel sick.

The ceiling is a constant source of acute anxiety
Then Ukraine has broken 4.5 years of submission.

Lawyers have quite high hourly rates 😳
Putin and Trump have cooked up a whole list for this autumn and winter, it is clear.
Curious about their assessment of how long Europe would submit?
Have they accounted for what is coming now or not?
What comes next, what have I missed?
(I have seen your comments about Zelensky who has finally spoken out, but missed what the EU has said/done). I sincerely hope that Zelensky’s increasing outward confidence is because they now have functioning ballistic missiles, Freja air defense against ballistic missiles, or something else that can cause serious disruption!
Now every word, email, document, and WhatsApp from Europe is extremely important.
Making mistakes from now on will have consequences for generations.
The ball is rolling.
Probably need a short bullet list on how I block accounts preventively in my admin function MXT if I can get that 👍
Do NOT give him that MTX! 😱
I am placing my already published post above here, as it actually fits better in this part of the thread.

Yep, Trump’s days are numbered 😀
The last sentence was funny 🤣🤣🤣
He might claim election chaos for about half a year to buy himself some time, but now the train has left.
This weekend there will be some beers, the liberating feeling is roughly like when the ranch dip and barbecue chips are on the living room table, Love is Blind season 4 has arrived, and a tall can of Mariestads is getting condensation, with 18 more in the freezer compartment.
Old Ox I hope?
Trump will probably have to move to Wennerström, Steven Seagal, the Ayatollah, and Assad in Moscow?
They apparently share an apartment, a two-room flat
Two rooms and a kitchenette with alcohol😐
😄
One more thing – Putin’s security partly depends on having Trump with him to restrain Europe.
The elite in Russia probably doesn’t want a train wreck like this at all.
If Europe also starts taking a tougher stance, Putin’s days are probably numbered.
It’s only fun to be bullied until the victim fights back.
Trump and Putin will share a cell in The Hague
Zelensky does not give up 👍👍👍
Can’t M,L,C,KD vote for Magda today, then will we have a centrist government with S alone?

Recently, he has started to become increasingly sincere, probably getting tired of having to hold back, especially since it still hasn’t led to anything positive from the US side.

”Ukraine resumes its attacks on the Russian oil industry, says Volodymyr Zelensky to the Financial Times.
– It’s over, the pause is over, he says.
The White House is reported to have pressured Kyiv to pause attacks on, among other targets, Russian oil refineries. Ukraine agreed to a three-day pause, but Russia continued its attacks with undiminished strength.
Despite this, the US has continued to pressure Kyiv with threats of withdrawn intelligence reports. In addition, Ukraine’s access to the internet through Elon Musk’s Starlink has also been limited. However, Ukrainian sources reported on Thursday that the systems are now functioning normally again.”

Relatives of the Swedish man who has been arrested in Russia are shocked by the news. This is reported by SVT Nyheter, which has been in contact with them.
According to the relatives, the man has fought for Ukraine and has been there at times. He is said to be in his mid-30s and from the Stockholm area.
– I actually don’t know exactly what he was doing there, I haven’t pressed him on that, says a relative to SVT.
The state Russian news agency Tass has published a video that is claimed to show the arrested Swede.
The intelligence service FSB accuses him of having entered the country and planned “terror attacks against military facilities,” according to Tass. They also write that the man is said to have previously been a group leader for a Ukrainian drone unit.

Elon Musk believes that Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky should resign because he does not agree to make peace on the Kremlin’s terms. The tech billionaire writes this on X.
“The slaughter continues. It is time for Zelensky to resign,” the post says.
Musk reacts to Zelensky’s interview with TV personality Piers Morgan where he says he will not sell out his country.
The interview with Morgan takes place in light of the White House once again pressuring Kyiv to agree to peace on Russia’s terms. In connection with this, Elon Musk’s Starlink satellites have also been restricted for the Ukrainian defense, something Musk claims he has nothing to do with.”

Ukraine became Trump’s Vietnam
And Russia’s!
You might have forgotten that it is Russia that is losing the war in Ukraine? Easy to forget after 18 Mariestad perhaps? 😳
WARNING ⚠️
I have been thinking.
I wonder if Trump believes he can get Ukraine to capitulate before the midterm elections by lifting sanctions against Russia, shutting down Starlink, and not providing any intelligence to Ukraine. And then proclaim that he has made peace between Russia and Ukraine and win the election.
A completely idiotic plan but now Trump is also completely idiotic.
And stop the weapons program.
Yes, I wouldn’t be surprised, even though it might actually cause him to lose the midterm election.
At the same time, I don’t understand how his idea that we should release the frozen Russian funds fits into that. That money only benefits Putin and probably also Trump, while the US population is unlikely to gain any advantages from it. So I rather suspect that it is about supporting Putin and enriching himself in the process.
Off-Topic, as Den Gamle has already told us before the vote:
“The Parliament votes no to the Social Democrats’ Magdalena Andersson (S) as the new Prime Minister. This is clear after the issue was brought to a vote on Thursday. The proposal was rejected with 99–248 votes.
The decision was expected – the Centre Party, the Green Party, and the Left Party had already stated before the vote that they would vote no to Andersson. The proposal they had to consider was Magdalena Andersson as head of government for a single-party government with the Social Democrats.
Next, it falls to the Speaker of the Parliament, Andreas Norlén (M), to pose the question to one of the other party leaders to explore the possibility of succeeding better than Andersson.
If a new government cannot be formed after four prime minister votes, an extra election awaits.”

What the hell 😡
Sometime we will find out Trump’s driving force.
I could think that supporting Ukraine, being friends with Europe, being praised and retiring filthy rich would have been more attractive than what is coming now, but so it is.
We nailed Starmer and Sanchez completely right and my chip crumbs at the bottom of the bowl say that Trump is on the downward curve now.
