I wonder what the Hungarian people will choose? Ukraine or rice? We will see in April…
Yes, the EU should deal with that parasite and fifth columnist decisively. The Hungarians deserve better.
”All of our partners—in the United States, in Europe, and elsewhere—should clearly understand that the friendship between Putin, the Iranian regime, North Korea, Lukashenko, and others serves only one purpose: to allow them to do what they did to our Donbas wherever they want.”

@MXT, would you like to share my and Jocke’s email addresses?
Good that you reminded me! Forgot to go back and check if Jockesoft has replied!
Now both of you should have received an email from me!
Did you see Jocke’s post yesterday about the regime in Iran stopping bombing all neighbors?
Now they have made contact with all military units.
What did they get in return?
What I’m wondering is if they want to save their drones and missiles to use against Israel instead? But it feels a bit too positive that Iran already needs to ration their weapons.
From this, one might think that the USA has used its bases in the countries around Iran to attack them. If that is really the case, it would explain why Iran has done what they have done, but I have not directly seen anything about it being so; it is very possible that it is just a post-construction and that Jockesoft is right, that they simply are starting to run out of drones and robots but do not want to admit it.
“Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian promises that the country will not attack neighboring countries if attacks on Iran do not originate from their territory. But it is unclear what power the president actually has on the matter, says Al Jazeera journalist Resul Serdar, who covers Iranian politics.
He says that even in peacetime, the president practically has very little say when it comes to strategic foreign policy. Instead, power lies with the religious leadership. Currently, since Ayatollah Khamenei’s death, power lies essentially with the Revolutionary Guard, says Serdar.
– They are the ones who decide whether to attack or not, he says, pointing out that the current leader of the guard, Ahmad Vahidi, is seen as one of the most radical ever.
Swedish Middle East expert Alexander Atarodi tells DN that he believes it is likely that the president’s promise will hold, not least because Iran is starting to run out of weapons and still cannot maintain the intensity of counterattacks.
– If this trend continues, there will not be much capacity left after one or two weeks.
AFP notes that targets in Iran’s neighboring countries have been attacked even after the president’s promise, indicating that Pezeshkian does not have full control over the armed forces.”

Like Putin who intends to stop exporting oil to Europe this year, where the EU has already decided that the import should cease in 2027.
It could also be about the fact that the Iranian regime is stripped of its most hardline figures, and the remaining one is easier to convince.
That’s how it can be.
It was really stupid to start bombing your neighbors.
The United Nations lacks any ounce of legitimacy. A regulation that aims, among other things, to ensure that conventions on human rights are followed, that war crimes are prosecuted, is blocked by the Security Council where members who deliver on all criminal records can and block decisions in every such direction. UN = trash can 🗑️ 🇺🇳.
Sweden should withdraw from the UN and not return as long as the Status Quo prevails. At least not pay any tax money there.
The UN is surely corrupt too. An organization that does not live up to its raison d’être can hardly play with fair cards. Yet another reason to withdraw from the UN.
Yes, the UN is obsolete
we pay and china/ru have bribed themselves to loyalty
Yes, the UN only works if the participating countries follow what is decided, now when the dictatorships, and even the semi-dictatorship USA, disregard the importance of the UN.
How is the supranationality of the USA constructed? How effective is it? And how does it channel the power that exists in the country’s economy and military strength with laser-like precision and energy? The states have great independence, to the extent that an individual state can engage in bilateral relations, with California’s energy agreement with a European country/EU as an example.
It is efficient
“150 Swedes flown home from the Middle East
Another 150 Swedish citizens will be flown back to Sweden from the Middle East during Sunday and Monday, according to the travel agency Apollo for Ekot.
The flight will be carried out from the United Arab Emirates, according to Martina Krantz, operational manager at Apollo.

Imagine that we finally dared to board a Russian ship. Hopefully, more will follow!
“The ship boarded in the Baltic Sea states that it was on its way to St. Petersburg, says Mattias Lindholm, the press officer of the Coast Guard, to TT.
The ship most recently came from Casablanca and sails under the Guinean flag. According to the Coast Guard, there are some uncertainties about the ship’s destination.
– We are conducting a search, interrogations, reviewing documentation, and gathering information. We need to process it. This is a time-consuming task, so it will take time, he says.
Mattias Lindholm says that the Coast Guard is investigating whether the ship is part of the Russian so-called shadow fleet. The crew has been cooperative.”
“The Coast Guard has boarded a ship in the Baltic Sea near Trelleborg. The Coast Guard states in a press release that the ship is suspected to be stateless and that the authorities have acted in accordance with both national and international laws.
The ship in question is the Caffa, which has “unclear flag status.”
“Therefore, the Coast Guard assesses that Caffa has not been in innocent passage in Swedish territorial waters. Without a flag state, there is no state that vouches for the ship’s safety and seaworthiness.”
Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M), Minister for Civil Defense, writes on X that the ship is on Ukraine’s sanctions list.
The ship was boarded around 4 p.m., and a preliminary investigation for violations of maritime law has been initiated.”
“The Coast Guard is still working aboard the ship that was boarded off Trelleborg on Friday, writes TT. According to spokesperson Valdemar Lindekrantz, interrogations and searches are being conducted.
An investigation for violations of maritime law regarding inadequate seaworthiness has also been initiated.
The ship is on Ukraine’s sanctions list and sailed under the Guinean flag, which is believed to be false. Therefore, the ship is considered stateless, according to the Coast Guard.”
“The crew on board the ship boarded by Swedish authorities on Friday was ”overwhelmingly Russian”. This was stated by Daniel Stenling, the Deputy Operational Chief of the Swedish Coast Guard, at a press conference.
– We view the incident very seriously, he says.
The ship showed poor seaworthiness and is considered stateless after sailing under a false flag. At the press conference, authorities showed a video depicting Swedish personnel boarding the ship to conduct a so-called ”technical inspection”.
Johan Andersson, Deputy Head of Unit at the National Operational Department of the Police, Noa, stated that everything went calmly on board.
– Exactly as we wanted it, he says.”
The boats have been flagged out in line with the internationalization of shipping. The following is a good example: 20-25 years ago, the government decided to procure the traffic to Gotland. So, traffic within Sweden. Polish Polferries won and the boats sailed under the flag of the Bahamas. The crew Polish, others? Probably none from Gotland.
Addition: It now requires a lot of scrutiny to investigate who actually owns the boat
The airport in Dubai was closed to all traffic during Saturday morning. The announcement comes after explosions were heard over the airport during the night towards Saturday, reported AFP. Shortly before ten o’clock, some traffic resumed, the airport announced on X.
Even before the announcement of the closure, the airline Emirates had stopped its flights to and from the airport, which is the world’s busiest. At X, the airline’s passengers were urged not to come to the airport.
During the night, there have been reports of explosions over the airport, and data from the site Flightradar24 shows how airplanes have been circling in the air.
The foreign ministers of the Arab League will hold a crisis meeting on Sunday regarding the attacks from Iran, reports AFP. Several of the league’s countries have been targeted by attacks with missiles or drones from Iran.
Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit has previously condemned the Iranian attacks in response to the United States’ and Israel’s attacks on the country. In a statement, he called Iran’s actions a “serious strategic mistake” that risks creating deep hostility between Iran and its Arab neighbors.
Earlier on Saturday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that the country will no longer attack neighboring countries unless Iran is attacked from their territory. He also apologized for the attacks that have already taken place.
“Prior to the recent American strikes against both Venezuela and Iran, a few players on betting sites – or “prediction sites” – such as Polymarket and Kalshi have managed to be completely right and with small stakes have made big profits.
The betting has angered Democratic Senator Chris Murphy. In a post on X, he questions how the betting can even be legal:
“So potentially people were sitting in the White House’s ‘situation room’ last week and drove the USA into war because they secretly placed bets and wanted the bet to pay off.”
He is supported by Amanda Fischer, a former official at the regulatory authority SEC.
– The floodgates are open. The market is quite new in itself and Kalshi is rolling out new products every day, she notes in a comment to the news site Quartz.
Blockchain analysts have seen similarities with insider trading for the six specific accounts that together earned $1.2 million on suspicious well-placed bets on the USA’s attack on Iran, shortly before it took place.
The White House has denied allegations of insider trading.”
One must not forget the shady deals in cryptocurrency that have been made many times just before Trump does something.
But cryptocurrency is probably outside the law when it comes to insider trading from what I’ve heard.
But what about betting??
(Not that it’s in any way okay just because a new type of security hasn’t been included in insider trading laws “yet”)

“Ground clashes are reported to have broken out on the border between Lebanon and Syria overnight after Israeli troops attempted to enter Lebanon. This is reported by AFP with reference to the state news agency NNA.
The Iran-backed Shia militia Hezbollah claims to be involved, and the fighting is said to have taken place near a Hezbollah-controlled area.
The information has not been confirmed by Israel, but the country has carried out several attacks against Hezbollah targets in the past week and sent soldiers across the border to several locations in southern Lebanon, writes TT.
If the new information is correct, it means that Israeli troops have penetrated deeper into Lebanon than they have since 2024, according to AFP.”
He previously said that we have only seen the beginning and that there would be significantly more extensive attacks from the US side. I have not seen anything indicating that this has happened, but it might be coming now.
“Trump is considering expanding the attacks in Iran to include “new groups and areas,” he writes on Truth Social.
The President argues that the decision is based on Iran’s “bad behavior” and promises “complete obliteration and certain death.”
“Iran will be hit very hard today,” writes Trump.
The post does not specify which new groups or areas would become potential American targets.”
So they have internally tried to sell it as a religious war. It feels a bit extreme and unusual for the USA. It also reminds a bit of Russia’s rhetoric, where they try to sell it as fighting against satanic West.
“30 Democrats in the US House of Representatives demand an investigation into reports that American commanders have used Christian doomsday rhetoric to justify the war against Iran, writes Haaretz.
“Some commanders are said to have told their soldiers that American and Israeli attacks will hasten the return of Jesus,” write the members, who call the statements “scandalous,” in a statement.
They also point out Defense Minister Pete Hegseth as at least partially responsible for giving the war against Iran a religious framing.”
That was exactly what I was thinking about when I speculated on the cause of the attack, the Christian right-wing mythomaniacs’ belief in Jesus’ return after the final war.
Expert: How radical Christians influence the US war against Iran | SVT News
I find it hard to imagine that Trump would be particularly religious, it would be an acknowledgment that there is someone higher than him, but he knows that he gets votes, and probably money, if he plays along.
Feels a bit worrying that Trump doesn’t seem to care at all about what the people think. He completely disregards the falling approval ratings and following the country’s laws.
It’s not long until the midterm elections, and I’m starting to suspect that he feels confident about winning regardless of what people think.
Or maybe he is blindly convinced that a victory over Iran will make him popular.
I don’t believe that it’s absolutely necessary to attack Iran right now. If there were evidence that they were close to developing functional nuclear weapons, it would have been presented, but he doesn’t even try to fake any such information.
Iran itself has stated that they can produce 11 nuclear weapons with 60% enriched Uranium. You can’t really trust them, but they presented it as a threat so they should have gone for the worst they could. If they haven’t done better than that, they haven’t even managed to put together a handful of dirty bombs.
It’s very good that Russia is losing yet another one of its partners, but if you really want to crush Russia, the best way is still to increase support for Ukraine, but Trump refuses to do so. Therefore, it also doesn’t seem like weakening Russia has anything to do with the war, even though it’s a really good side effect for Ukraine.
“Several surveys show that the American people do not support the war in Iran. This makes Donald Trump the first president in modern times to go to war without the support of the people, writes New York Times’ Peter Baker in an analysis.
“Given that wars tend to become less popular over time, the initial negative reaction suggests that the conflicts risk creating political problems for Donald Trump and his Republican colleagues the longer they continue,” Baker notes.
He also points out that unlike previous presidents, Trump has not made much effort to get the people on board by explaining in advance why the war is necessary.
CNBC’s Matt Peterson points out that the war coincides with figures showing increasing unemployment and that the conflicts have significantly driven up gasoline prices.
He writes that it is reasonable to believe that Americans will question why the USA should continue to pay economically and militarily in Iran when Trump has claimed that previous bombings have completely destroyed Iran’s nuclear technology program and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is already dead.”

“A majority of Americans are against the country militarily attacking Iran. This is shown by three different opinion polls conducted in the past few days, as reported by New York Times. The polls were conducted by CNN, Reuters/Ipsos, and Washington Post, all showing that around 60 percent are against the war.
All surveys indicate that Republican voters are generally positive, while believing that the USA should largely withdraw from conflicts abroad. Democratic voters are almost entirely negative.
New York Times points out that support for military interventions tends to be highest initially and then decrease. The newspaper also writes that it is probably still too early to assume that the public opinion on the war has settled.”

He doesn’t have a war in Iran that no one approved of – he’ll probably do as he pleases for another three years
It would be better if more countries participated. Rutte was in favor of NATO support, right? After all, it is a defense of a majority of countries in the alliance. Considering (of course) that Ukraine is making an effort for these countries.
Not promising that Democrats are against it. From a European security perspective, it is good that the (D)🫏 lost power. Kamala Harris’s early statement against the American/Israeli attack on Iran is in line with the statement from FI (Feminist Initiative ♊️) that Johan discussed the other day.

🇺🇸🇮🇷🇺🇦 The U.S. conflict with Iran is rapidly consuming Patriot interceptor missiles, reducing supplies Ukraine relies on to defend against Russian attacks, – WSJ Production limits already left Ukraine short of interceptors, and the new demand from the Middle East is worsening the shortage.
As Ukraine’s air defenses weaken, Russia is able to strike infrastructure and cities more easily. At the same time, higher oil prices from the conflict are boosting Russia’s economy, giving Moscow an additional advantage.
With Patriot production slow and stockpiles stretched across multiple regions, Ukraine may struggle to keep up with Russia’s growing missile attacks.
Shit! The world’s supply of patriots is running out, but other rogue states like R and NK have full stocks of ballistic stuff.

“White House’s new video about the Iran war, where images of actual bombings are cross-cut with material from action movies, TV series, and games, is embarrassing. This is written by The Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw in a chronicle.
According to him, the film is on many levels unconsciously self-ironic, partly because “Braveheart” is about an underdog’s battle against military superiority and because “Tropic Thunder” is a satirical film about the kind of “doomed fantasies” that war movies often indulge in.
“It’s a very creepy piece of mischief created by very humorless and naive people,” he summarizes.
CNN’s Jake Tapper also notes that several of the characters seemingly celebrated in the video are actually villains in the films in question, mentioning, for example, that Kylo Ren in “Star Wars” “actually chose the dark side.”
“Does the White House even care about who the villains are anymore?” he asks.”

The film clip, shared by the White House’s social media account, has cross-cut scenes from famous movies and series with what appears to be video material from real attacks on Iran.
Among the movies used are, besides “Braveheart,” “Deadpool” and “Transformers,” also the Ben Stiller film “Tropic Thunder.”
“We have never given you permission and have no interest in being part of your propaganda machine. War is not a movie,” Stiller writes on X.”

Not completely without humor, perhaps a good dose of self-irony. Compare the movie from the White House, in connection with the arrest of Venezuela’s President Maduro.

Russia is preparing for a spring offensive in Donbass in eastern Ukraine. This is written by Volodymyr Zelensky, who is visiting the area, on Telegram.
“Evil must be stopped. Ukrainians here in Donbass are doing exactly that,” writes the president.
The Donetsk region, which together with Luhansk makes up Donbass, is one of the most fiercely contested frontlines in the war, according to Kyiv Independent.
If NATO does not send troops to the Iran war, we might as well use prestigious troops to provide some backup in Ukraine, for example at the Belarusian border, a bit of a no-fly zone, and combating missiles/drones, etc. Come on, we’re not talking about a fully armed Iran here, are we? And we have nuclear weapons in France and the United Kingdom. What are we waiting for? Approval from the comment field on the other blog, or?
The information that the CIA is working to arm Kurdish groups for an upcoming operation in Iran is not true. This is according to Sky News correspondent Stuart Ramsay. He claims to have spoken with a high-ranking Kurdish source who revealed details about the phone call Donald Trump had with Kurdish leaders before the American attack.
According to the source, Trump thanked the Kurds for their efforts in Syria and Iraq over the years.
“He didn’t ask for anything, he didn’t suggest that they invade anywhere, and there was no talk of weapons or the CIA at all,” the source said.
The information that the US is trying to pressure the Kurds and that the CIA is arming them, as reported by CNN among others, the source calls “a total lie.”
However, Ramsay adds that this is the current situation but it may change in the future.
So many different bids 😳
“Even a large-scale American attack on Iran has little chance of overthrowing the country’s government, according to a secret American intelligence report. This is reported by the Washington Post.
The report is said to have been compiled a week before the US and Israel began their war against Iran, and it stated that it is “unlikely” that Iran’s divided opposition would be able to take over the government, regardless of how the war is conducted from the American side.
– It sounds like a very well-informed assessment of the Iranian system and the institutions and processes it has established for many years, says Suzanne Maloney, an Iran expert at the Brookings Institution, to the newspaper.
The White House has not wanted to respond to whether the president has seen the content before ordering the initial attacks on February 28.”

Kuwait is reducing its production of crude oil and refining capacity, according to the state-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) as reported by Reuters. The decision comes after ongoing Iranian attacks against Kuwait and threats to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. According to the company, the measure is part of the country’s risk management and business continuity strategy. KPC states that the reduction is purely preventive and will be reassessed as the situation evolves.
Will Europe end up having to buy Russian oil?
Boring.
Orban would then be pleased, we do not want to see that
“The concern for a global energy crisis grows as the conflict in the Middle East continues to strangle oil exports in the region. Sources to Reuters now warn that major producers like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates will be forced to halt their deliveries. ‘Sooner or later, everyone will shut down production if no ships arrive,’ says a source at a state-owned oil company in the region. Analysts also warn that it could take ‘days, weeks, or months’ before a facility is fully operational again. For companies with exposure to the region, the risks entail a shortage of key components, higher costs, and squeezed margins, writes Bloomberg. Goldman Sachs warns that the price of WTI oil could rise to over $100 per barrel next week if no signs of a resolution emerge before then.”

“The war in the Middle East is already noticeable at the Swedish gas pumps. Fresh figures from fuel companies, as reported by Ekonomiekot, show that the price of diesel has increased more than the price of gasoline. According to the numbers, gasoline has become 1.20 SEK more expensive per liter compared to before the outbreak of the war, while the corresponding increase for diesel is 3.45 SEK. Both prices apply to corporate customers. – We have a better supply of gasoline in Europe, which means we have a better balance between demand and supply. But for diesel, we now have a tighter market,” states Jessica Alenius, CEO of the industry organization Drivkraft Sverige.”

“The American people can therefore expect conversations with the Russians to stop this?”

They help the Iranian people by staying away.
And now it’s happening again here, Iran’s statement has only made the situation even worse than it was. I feel, lying in my plastic bathtub, a big thank you to all the fantastic ladies in Iran. 🥰 May a bomb hit you and send you to a much warmer place!
Yes. But warm is probably just a fantasy.
Rather like cold.
With a bottle of cheap whisky alarmingly empty and a weak beer that shines by its absence while we are having one of the worst days since all this started here in Abu Dhabi, the concern is great. Maybe not about getting hit by missile debris, after all, I am lying in my plastic bathtub with a 30 SEK IKEA blanket over me. No, the question is, will I manage to get more alcohol before the day is over? Those are the important questions that need to be addressed when bombs are flying over your head! 👆
And yes, there were several waves of missiles/drones this time, and it hit hard. At least now the “All clear” has been issued, but Iran seems to be more aggressive than before so I really don’t expect a good night’s sleep tonight.
Isn’t it calmer to move down to the parking garage or whatever you have as a shelter with a bed, some furniture, a lamp, etc., and stay in the apartment when there aren’t constant alarms going off? Maybe the car in the parking garage?
Yes, to be serious for a short while. My car is parked in the underground parking garage under 11 floors of concrete, so of course this is where I go when I don’t like the situation, there it will be safe and I find it hard to see how falling debris could make its way through all that concrete, even if the buildings here probably don’t quite meet Swedish quality standards 🙂
I was thinking the same Jocke, doesn’t seem like robots big enough to collapse the house anyway?
Then if the risk is a robot too close, maybe it’s safest to move down if it gets too lively?
Read somewhere that USA early warning radars are knocked out and that matches what you’re writing – the alarm comes kind of after the strikes.
Alcohol is clearly a problem that needs to be solved – you had prepared very well, the thread gives ten beer cans out of ten possible but now it seems to be dragging on here.
The UAE has other highly competent systems, such as GlobalEye, so just because one US system is out of order, it is not a disaster, there are other systems that help to see what is happening.
👍
That is very good then 👍👍
All military bases now need 10-15 Tridon 40/57 all around to keep intruders and saboteurs away.
After Apple’s AI, you need to make three to four edits to get some sentences to match what you actually wrote.
Apparently AI comes up with “hello fresh” in its responses, I read now 😀
The USA was a bit quick to declare the danger over – Jocke has submitted a report on false advertising.
The only thing that can put an end to this now is a popular revolution, which is probably being worked against – but the longer time goes by without it happening, the less positive I think it is?
I expect a quick and efficient outcome! ✊
I get the impression that the air attacks are still ongoing (with some pauses for target revision) and that from the American side, the population has been advised to stay low. Is it still too dangerous to go out on the streets in Iran perhaps? On the other hand, it is a must, even the Revolutionary Guard is hiding. And what kind of armament do they have against the regime’s security forces?
The Kurds are NOT keen on being cannon fodder in this war and they are ABSOLUTELY right – the USA has betrayed them 3-4 times before, most recently about a month or two ago.
You might be able to guess how this war would have turned out if Iran had carried out a first strike.
Apparently, the 5th fleet command functions in Bahrain were leveled – if they had struck first, it could have looked different.
Or if they had droned in Europe.
Probably China is now delivering more capability, there are large long-haul trailers coming across the border from Pakistan.
Azerbaijan, Pakistan, the Kurds all feel like something the USA is up to in order to mostly put pressure on the regime to implode – presumably there will be no invasion in the sense that they are trying to take over parts of the country?
If the USA says no, no one is so foolish to continue, right?
Now there is talk about China making a huge strategic mistake here – which they have done.
There is also discussion about what they have delivered – which they have done.
This is interesting, do you have more information about what type of Chinese equipment has been delivered? Curious about what doesn’t work 🙂
Well, China’s beta test of the weapon systems has not gone very well..
Yes FIM now it’s time to sell Tridons to MENA.
There is a big market for good systems.
Post-war – big market for civil engineers in MENA 😲
Interested in the outcome.
Tridon is a bit like those Skyrangers I sponsored through U24 in Ukraine.
And that German version. Or if I’m mixing everything up.
But do they work??
I want to see those that shoot down fpver. Doesn’t seem to exist. Yet.
Or ??

I have noted that a new exciting war is needed to get the page’s comment section going, and since we rely on traffic, I have sent emails to all sorts of countries pretending to be another country threatening war so that we survive.

Football war El Salvador – Honduras? When does the 2nd half start?
Javier Milei in Argentina is too quiet and shy to provoke the English regarding the Falkland Islands. Otherwise, we could have had good coverage of the wars. Or why not a new Cod War between Iceland and the UK. Last time Iceland won. Fishing boats against frigates. 3-0 🐟🐟🐟

The Sicheslavsky “Grad” worked on the southwestern outskirts of Pokrovsk, where, according to intelligence, the enemy was gathering for further assault operations.

This, secure oil export:
The Strait of Hormuz, between Iran to the east and Oman on the opposite side, is so narrow that there is no need for any physical blocking of the waterway. It is enough to launch rockets and cruise missiles from land. Both ship captains and insurance companies know this, and Iran has not needed to fire a shot to get its way. An Israeli expert tells DN that the only way to force an opening of the strait would be to send commandos into Iranian territory:
– But the coastline in question is heavily fortified and manned on the Iranian side. Anyone considering taking over the area must prepare for fierce battles and heavy losses.

Jockesoft, unfortunately I accidentally drank up your small light beer on my way to the post office.
But don’t worry, I have another one that I will send.
So…. help is on the way.

One can hope 😀
