  2. Card from Abu Dhabi, I won’t bore you with too much as the days here are very similar to each other.

Sleeping with phones turned off and earplugs, but dreaming of explosions so I have to check when I wake up if there has been an attack or not. So far, it has been just figments of the imagination, so it’s positive that there are no attacks during the nights, but not good that the brain is already coming up with this kind of stuff. Anecdotally, I hear similar things from colleagues down here, that at night our brains play tricks on us.

Anyway, managed to start the phone this morning and scroll through the news for about 5 minutes before the first air raid siren sounded, and since then we have had another alarm, so calmer than yesterday but I don’t really have a handle on the amount that has been sent, there was a big bang in today’s first attack and then I also heard the fighter jets take off, which is not common.

Iran seems to have identified a new leader in the old man’s son, my hope is that his time as a leader will be extremely short, Iran really deserves a leader who does not oppress the people.
“Iran has appointed Mojtaba Khamenei as supreme leader and launched its first wave of missiles under his command.”
    https://gulfnews.com/world/mena/usisrael-war-on-iran-day-10-mojtaba-khamenei-named-supreme-leader-gulf-states-face-new-attacks-1.500467987

Also noting this which is not so good and just like Hamas:
Pentagon says Iran ‘becoming more desperate
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said the “Iranian regime is becoming more desperate,” accusing it of placing missile and drone launch platforms in residential neighborhoods.”

The reality here is complex, I want to leave at the same time as I have a contract to fulfill along with an apartment, car, and other things that I can’t just ditch and leave. Communication between me and my employer is ongoing and I’m trying to find ways that don’t harm the relationship between us, but sooner or later the cup will overflow and I’ll be on the first plane out of here no matter what… and that day is really approaching.

All the best from my plastic bathtub in Abu Dhabi.

    1. Thank you for the report, you don’t need to worry at all about boring us!

I understand that it can’t be easy to just drop everything and hard to know when it’s time.

Let’s hope that Iran will soon start running out of ammunition so they realize that it’s a waste to attack civilian targets, so maybe it will be a bit calmer for you. On the other hand, one never knows what Iran might do if they start getting desperate.

Hang in there, hold on, and hold tight to the edge of the bathtub!

    2. I understand that it must be terrible to live in such an environment, knowing that at any moment you could be hit by something explosive. Easy to say that you should hang in there, but try.
The hope is that Iran suddenly collapses, or that Trump declares victory and leaves the war. Not sure if that will stop the fighting, Israel doesn’t seem to stop.
My crate of light beer should arrive this week, perhaps a small comfort.

    3. For my part, it’s super interesting to get live reports from someone on the spot! And that’s even if it has been “quiet” or “similar to yesterday”.

I consider myself lucky to have managed to leave and I sympathize with those who are still there!

    4. I was thinking earlier Jocke that you can’t work remotely from Sweden for a while, can you?

You’re not going into the office now anyway, right?

  3. I wrote yesterday that I believed we would surpass 100 USD/barrel within a few days.
    It only took one day:
    Crude Oil: 103.4 USD/barrel
    Brent: 107.8 USD/barrel
Ural: 90.7 USD/barrel (from last Friday).

    1. For Sweden’s oil emergency stockpile, we should have in stock, either equivalent to 90 days of imports, or 61 days of consumption (depending on which one is reached first).

Now, the reserves are not meant to dampen extreme prices but should only be used in case of an oil shortage, but that’s where we might end up if Iran makes good on its threat to destroy all facilities they can access.

    2. The company has declared “force majeure” so there are probably quite serious damages, even though it is also to avoid damages for non-deliveries.

    3. Ah, missed this earlier, it explains why oil prices retreated back from nearly 120 USD/barrel when it was at its highest.

“G7 finance ministers will convene for an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss whether to release their oil reserves, following the continued surge in oil prices overnight. Sources told the Financial Times.

Any potential relief would be coordinated by the International Energy Agency, IEA.

The IEA’s 32 member countries together have a strategic oil reserve to be used in case of oil price shocks, the newspaper writes. According to U.S. officials, 300-400 million barrels – equivalent to just over 25-30 percent of the total reserve – could be appropriate right now, a source said.

For comparison, it can be said that both global oil consumption and production amounted to just over 102 million barrels per day in 2024, according to IEA figures.

The information caused oil prices to fall back slightly during the morning, but both Brent crude and WTI are still holding steadily above 100 dollars per barrel.

Meanwhile, U.S. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is demanding that the U.S. release its reserves to curb fuel price increases, something Republicans have been skeptical of so far, Axios writes.”

    1. It refines approximately as much oil as Russia’s largest refineries. About 19-20 million tons/year or between 355 – 400,000 barrels per day.

  4. 🔥 Minus three “Pantsir-1S”, landing craft and UAV base “Orion”: Navy struck a powerful blow at enemy facilities in Crimea Also, the forces and means of the Navy in Novoozerne successfully hit the Russian high-speed landing craft of project 02510 “BK-16”.

😎 Moreover, the military infrastructure of the occupiers at the Kirovskoe airfield was also hit. There, our soldiers hit the storage location of the Orion strike and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles and completely destroyed four control stations of these drones.

  5. The crew member who was arrested after the operation outside Trelleborg is the ship’s Russian captain, according to a press release from the Swedish Prosecution Authority.

“The man is suspected of having presented and referred to several suspected false maritime certificates when the Coast Guard conducted a search on the ship,” said senior prosecutor Adrien Combier-Hogg.

The man is suspected of using a false document and violating the maritime and ship safety law.

    1. Coming from Casablanca. 99% phosphate cargo. For fertilization and possibly explosives? Who tipped off the Swedes? Sweden was well prepared and made a professional impression. Could there be drugs in the cargo? I remember about 15 years ago when a ship dumped drugs in plastic bags outside Viken (north of Helsingborg). The police had been tipped off and were waiting for someone to pick up the drugs by boat, and they didn’t have to wait long. The smugglers were caught in the act. That time. We’ll see what happens. The Russians are silent…

  6. The prices of natural gas surge 30 percent on Monday after concerns about the effects of crises in the Middle East have increased.

    – The market is slowly starting to wake up to the reality of prolonged disruptions in supply throughout the energy value chain, says Florence Schmit, energy strategist at Rabobank to Bloomberg.

Last week saw the biggest price increase since the energy crisis of 2022. Producers, including Qatar, have been forced to pause production.

  7. 👀❗️ Up to 70% of Russians support ending the war in Ukraine, according to a poll published by BILD. They have reached record highs since the start of the full-scale aggression.

  8. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 Hegseth on Iran: Unconditional surrender means we’re fighting to win. It means we set the terms. We’ll know when they’re not capable of fighting. They will be combat ineffective. They will surrender. We want peace… But if war is necessary, we’re going to fight to win.

Trump is right when he says we obliterated their nuclear program. We dropped those bombs exactly where they needed to be, set them back. We want the Iranians guessing and second-guessing and triple-guessing what we might be willing to do, because under Trump, we just might.

  9. A thread about the UAE’s defense system popped up on Facebook yesterday, more complex than I thought:

  10. “Ukraine’s Air Force continues striking Russian positions at the Krasnolymanska mine, targeting Rubicon Center for Advanced Unmanned Technologies units present in these buildings”

  11. Asia has already plummeted, let’s see how it goes in Europe during the day.
Then I get confused by Omni. I thought it was Monday today. 🤔

“European stock markets are falling on Thursday in the wake of the war in the Middle East and rising energy prices. Dagens Næringsliv writes that there is a sell-off across Europe. At 10 o’clock, leading European indices show:

    • Oslo Stock Exchange Osebx: -0.3%
    • Copenhagen Stock Exchange OMXC25: -1.7%
    • Helsinki Stock Exchange OMXH25: -2.0%
    • Frankfurt Stock Exchange DAX: -2.4%
    • London Stock Exchange FTSE 100: -1.7%
    • Paris Stock Exchange CAC40: -2.6%

In Germany, the industrial group Siemens is down 5.5 percent and the automotive supplier Continental is down 5 percent. This is the lowest level on the DAX since May 2025, writes Handelsblatt.

In Denmark, the freight group DSV is at the bottom with a decline of 3.5 percent. The major banks Danske Bank and Jyske are down over 2 percent. The pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk is bucking the trend and rising over 1 percent after reports of collaboration with competitor Hims & Hers.

In Finland, the majority of large companies are in the red. For example, the steel giant Outokumpu is down over 6 percent and the telecommunications company Nokia is down over 2 percent.

    – There is a completely absurd volatility in the market and it will continue to be significant in the near future, says Nordea’s chief analyst Jan von Gerich to Kauppalehti.”

  12. The government is investing 1.4 billion in what is described as a new “preparedness package.” This was stated by Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M) at a press conference.

The money will, among other things, go towards stocks of equipment for civil preparedness, which will be stored in various locations around the country. The equipment will be available for use by regions and municipalities.

“It could involve generators, it could involve diesel tanks, materials that can be used in times of war or crisis,” says Bohlin.

The government is also providing additional funds directly to municipalities so that they can strengthen their crisis preparedness.

  13. Not only I suspect that the war in Iran benefits Putin more than it costs.

Reznikov did buy worthless winter jackets at a much too high price as Minister of Defense, so maybe his judgment cannot be trusted. Or perhaps suspicions of corruption are a merit when it comes to assessing Russia and Putin?

“With the war in the Middle East, the air risks going out of the peace talks in Ukraine, reports The Guardian. Several countries may be forced to strengthen their own defenses due to the unrest, which risks reducing the resources that can be allocated to Ukraine.

The newspaper has spoken with Ukraine’s former Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, who says that the attacks on Iran play into the hands of the Kremlin.

    – Putin smiled when the US started this war, he says.

The Russian president, whose attitude is that “the strongest wins,” has his hands strengthened when the US attacks a smaller country, according to Reznikov.”

    1. Hey MXT, isn’t this a page for honest debate/discussion?

Ukraine is 100% behind the attack on Iran and then the word “risks” stopping the peace agreement.

It’s the best thing that can happen if this idiotic peace agreement is put on hold.

      1. Do they really do that? If we’re going to be honest? So you don’t see any disadvantages for Ukraine at all?

I can agree on the peace agreement, but it wouldn’t have worked out anyway.

Ukraine is forced to play along to keep Trump in a good mood.

    2. Negative for Russia as they lost yet another ally, and the last influence they had in the Middle East.

Russia is now reduced to a regional “super” power, which is only great in terms of territory and number of nuclear weapons.

Positive for Russia, thus negative for the rest of the world, is mainly that the oil price is soaring, and this will eventually lead to increasing calls to lift the sanctions. Trump has already loosened some sanctions on Russian oil to India, at least for the oil that is already on tankers, but we know how sensitive Americans are when it comes to gas prices. If they start complaining loudly, it won’t be long before American tankers start appearing in the Baltic Sea, and then it will be a problem for Ukraine, and ultimately for us.

Also positive for Russia is, of course, that the focus shifts from the Ukraine war to the Middle East war.

The supply of weapons to Ukraine is decreasing. Trump’s using all his missiles on Iran – leaving Ukraine short against Russia, Zelensky warns | The Independent

  14. Do not travel to Lebanon and leave the country immediately if you are there. This is stated by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in an updated travel advisory.

As of Monday, the Ministry advises against all travel to the country due to the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East. The advisory is in effect until further notice.

Hundreds of people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon since the war broke out. The attacks on the country began after the Lebanon-based Iran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah attacked Israel in response to the killing of the ayatollah.

On Monday, there are reports that the Israeli army IDF has penetrated deeper into Lebanon, according to TT.

  15. ⚠️🇺🇸🇸🇦 US evacuates some diplomats from Saudi Arabia – NYT The decision to force them to leave was made against the backdrop of the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East. Washington has effectively admitted that it cannot guarantee complete security for its diplomats in the country.”

  16. Not only Iran is making enemies with this war, here’s someone who’s really pissed off at Trump.

“The orange shit-gibbon has no comprehension of the Pandora’s box he just opened.

🇦🇪🇺🇸 Prominent UAE billionaire Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor just published an open letter to Trump.
    It’s brutal.

“Who gave you the authority to drag our region into a war with Iran? Who gave you permission to turn our region into a battlefield?”

Al Habtoor’s a major figure: billionaire, former diplomat, outspoken political voice in the Gulf. When he talks, UAE leadership’s listening.

    His questions:

    * Was this your decision or Netanyahu’s pressure?

    * Did you calculate collateral damage before firing?

    * You placed GCC countries at the heart of danger they didn’t choose

    * Your “Board of Peace” initiatives were funded by Gulf states. Now we’re getting attacked. Where did that money go?

    * You promised no wars. You’ve conducted operations in 7 countries: Somalia, Iraq, Yemen, Nigeria, Syria, Iran, Venezuela

    * 658 airstrikes in your first year back = Biden’s entire term (which you criticized)

    * War costs $40-65 billion for operations, possibly $210 billion total

    * Your approval rating’s down 9% in 400 days

    * Americans were promised peace. They’re getting war funded by their taxes

    The sharpest line:
“Before the ink has dried on your Board of Peace initiative, we find ourselves facing military escalation that endangers the entire region. So where did those initiatives go?”

Al Habtoor’s not some random critic. He’s establishment. Connected.

When UAE elites start publicly questioning Trump’s decision-making, that’s America’s closest Arab allies saying “we didn’t sign up for this.”

    The letter ends:
“True leadership is not measured by war decisions, but by wisdom, respect for others, and pushing toward achieving peace.”

    1. Ok, board of peace 🤣🤣🤣

Is Trump the problem or Iran?

They were de facto soon to have nuclear weapons and then everything changed.

    2. There is still doubt about whether the war in the Middle East benefits Ukraine. I would like to remind you of President Zelensky’s message to partners and allies:

Today, we are visiting the Donetsk region, our land, and our warriors. The 28th Brigade, the 100th and 24th Separate Mechanized Brigades, and the 36th Marine Brigade. I want to thank all of you—everyone who is defending our state! Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Slovyansk, and our other cities.

The Russians are not abandoning the war, and here, in the Donetsk region, they are preparing an offensive for the spring. It is important that our positions are strong. It is important that our brigades are adequately supplied. Our warriors are holding their ground with dignity. And this is how our country, our diplomacy, and our people will hold strong as well.

All of our partners—in the United States, in Europe, and elsewhere—should clearly understand that the friendship between Putin, the Iranian regime, North Korea, Lukashenko, and others serves only one purpose: to allow them to do what they did to our Donbas wherever they want.

Evil must be stopped. Ukrainians here in the Donbas are doing exactly that. Thank you to everyone who stands with Ukraine! Thank you to everyone who fights against Russia and defends life. Glory to our warriors! Glory to Ukraine!

Can it really be interpreted in so many different ways? It seems so…

      https://x.com/zelenskyyua/status/2029934890821575140?s=46

    3. It was plain talk and no poetry.

However, he does not seem to see the potentially positive effects of the war in the long run, but one might not expect a billionaire in the UAE to see the positive aspects of freedom for the people and a secular government.

Now we do not yet know if there will be any positive effects of the war at all, it depends on how long Trump holds out, and what kind of leader it will ultimately be.

    1. Mm, I think someone said that if Ukraine had received the amount of air defense used in the Middle East in a week from the beginning, the war would have been over long ago.

  17. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin sends a congratulatory message to Mojtaba Khamenei, who has been appointed as the new supreme leader of Iran after his father Ali Khamenei was killed by the USA and Israel.

Putin is convinced that Khamenei will continue his father’s work and that he will unite the Iranian people, according to Reuters.

“I would like to confirm our unwavering support for Iran and solidarity with our Iranian friends,” the president’s statement reads.

  18. “Ukrainas Special Operations Forces destroyed four radar systems in Russian-occupied Crimea, including an Oborona-14, a Nebo-U, and two radars in a radio-transparent dome in occupied Yevpatoria, plus a command post element in occupied Zachativka, Donetsk region.”

  19. The Iranian regime warns Iranians living abroad not to support or sympathize with the USA and Israel, several media outlets report. In several countries around the world, Iranians have taken to the streets to celebrate the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Reuters reports.

“They will have all their assets confiscated and be punished with other legal consequences,” the country’s prosecutor’s office writes in a statement.

Millions of Iranians live in other countries, most of them in the USA and Western Europe.

  20. A bit comical that the new Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, “ayatollah” Mojtaba Khamenei, owns a property worth 100 million pounds on Bishops Avenue…

      1. Well, that’s something to think about, of course it’s not good for Iran, and those who buy oil from Iran, namely China. It’s also not good if Trump were to take control of the oil.

It could be good for American equipment suppliers, after a takeover, and…. It’s good for Russia, the price stays high longer, and countries may be forced to ease sanctions.

  21. “🇺🇦Syrskyi: We are continuing the counteroffensive operation in the Oleksandrivka direction. Here, the DShV group regained control over 285.6 sq. km. in a month. In total, since the beginning of the operation, control over more than 400 sq. km. of territory has been restored.

We are also reaching the enemy on its territory. 85 targets were hit by DeepStrike in February. Taking into account previous periods, we have a cumulative effect – a 24.8% reduction in the total volume of oil refining in Russia.

We should also highlight our effective missile strike on the Votkinsk plant in Udmurtia, which produces Iskander-M, Oreshnik and other missiles. In addition, the 18% reduction in the use of FPV drones by the Russians in February is a likely effect of our defeat of enemy UAV arsenals.”

  22. Imagine if the USA (or Israel) were completely fooled by Iran into attacking them. Now they are shooting at everything and everyone, dragging the whole region into the conflict, including shooting at a NATO country, Turkey.
An excellent test to see if NATO will respond or even hold together to respond. Putin laughs heartily when he sees NATO hesitating as usual and can map out how they react and act.

    This world is crazy!

Maybe my son is right when he sometimes says, “there will be a major war to clear out and start over with 200 years of peace.”

  23. There is a lot happening right now – why are Israel and the USA attacking oil infrastructure and oil tankers in Iran?

The results were seen immediately and Iran will of course respond with equivalent actions throughout the entire MENA region, which they can do.

That Trump would go along with Putin surprised no one 😀

But more and more people are saying that the peace plan is now dead, the USA has other things on their plate.

The Baltics are starting to warn about Russian sabotage and troop build-up against them – for those of you who are still laughing, remember that Trump is going along with Putin, the USA ensured that we had the Cold War across Europe in 1945, and that the USA is fully occupied in MENA right now.

Isn’t it already a world war?

And we still have an upward curve.

Xi Jinping seems to have confirmed now that he wanted to attack Taiwan but the military leadership resisted so they were fired.

A good opportunity when the USA is occupied in MENA?

    1. Wag the dog!

The fool fell for it and attacked Iran, the USA can no longer handle 2.5 conflicts, which they still believe.

China and Russia can now point fingers and tell the USA to shut up if they start whining about an illegal invasion.

      These small-dicked narcissists!

By the way, I think the Iranian regime along with their scum Hamas and Hezbollah should be wiped out, but I’m not sure if this was the best plan.

      1. Well, Trump, Putin, and Xi do have in common the belief in the right of the strong, and that smaller countries should submit and accept their fate of being colonies to their larger neighbor.

Now, China is not in the habit of using military force in the same way as Russia and the USA, but if they see that it pays off, they might also take that step.

And well, the Iranian regime has probably forfeited its right to rule, so they probably deserve their fate.

        1. China is well extremely keen on military power gladly towards unarmed elderly-elderly just that they have mostly done it in China since 1945?

  24. I have seen a trend for four years – as soon as I write about any escalation, there are a lot of “no, not likely at all” at the same time as the escalation globally increases.

Now there is war in the entire MENA region, which really is just a few steps up on the escalation ladder, right?

Then if Taiwan starts, Thailand – Cambodia, Pakistan – Afghanistan, Pakistan – India, more “cartel wars” in South America, different interstate or civil wars in Africa, Russia – the Baltics, then it’s just further up on the global escalation.

Because we are still on the upward curve, we have been since 2022 as China and Russia are working towards this global escalation.

    1. Orban is not far from doing something stupid either, he knows he is in a weak position in the election, and wants the opportunity to “move it forward”

And Luka in Belarus is just a Putin call away from entering Lithuania to open up the Suwałki corridor, or entering western Ukraine.

  25. I am starting to have a suspicion – October 7, 2023, there is a lot of anecdotal evidence that warnings came in beforehand about what was going to happen and when the attack would start, that alarms went off but no action was taken, and important border posts were unmanned.

Considering how things have developed since then and that Iran is on the verge of falling, which is very important for Israel, there is at least reason for a discussion about this in my opinion, and Israel has had that discussion.

On the actual October 7, it was Hamas + Russia, and apparently Iran was not fully on board because Hezbollah missed the chance, but you never miss a good crisis, Netanyahu has used the attack as leverage to get here – If all the terrorists had died before crossing the border, we wouldn’t be here.

Not the first time in world history in that case.

Israel – Russia has had a strangely close relationship throughout the UA war, but I find it hard to believe that they collaborated in this beyond Israel seizing the opportunity.

  26. The American intelligence service has intercepted encrypted messages of Iranian origin that could serve as an operational signal to sleeper cells, reports ABC News.

A warning has therefore been sent out to law enforcement authorities in the country.

“The transmissions may be intended to activate or provide instructions to predetermined sleeper assets operating outside the country,” the warning, which ABC has seen, states.

The warning does not mention any threats linked to any specific location, but authorities are urged to increase monitoring of suspected radioactivity.”

  27. The New York police are investigating a terrorist attack after explosive charges were thrown at a demonstration in the city over the weekend, several media outlets report.

The incident occurred near a demonstration against public Muslim prayers, organized by a far-right influencer, writes AFP. No one was injured.

Two men are suspected in the case – the man suspected of throwing the charges, and a man who is believed to have provided him with the explosive devices.

Authorities are investigating whether the attack may have been inspired by the terrorist group IS.

      1. I think you need to read what I write a little more carefully. I haven’t really written anything about it not existing, have I?

Just meant that since we’ve barely seen any of it, it’s surprising and could be a sign that it’s not that extensive. Also, provided a bunch of other explanations for why maybe there haven’t been so many events yet and also wrote that I don’t believe we can be sure that more won’t come.

  28. Yes that Biden and Trump have favored Russia for four long years, there is no doubt about it.

It has been statistically established for a long time.

Why do we have to continue to argue about it but I believe what I believe – the USA wants Russia as a thorn in the side of Europe.

  29. Isn’t it becoming a small modern classic MXT that you first question my early reasoning about what should happen as free fantasies and at best conspiratorial, only to then post the news yourself when they arrive?

  30. The United Arab Emirates has been one of Iran’s neighboring countries that has felt the effects of Iran’s retaliatory attacks the hardest. Despite this, the country will not participate in any direct attacks against Iran, according to the country’s UN ambassador Jamal Al Musharakh, as reported by AFP. “We have been very clear before and in light of the current events that we are witnessing in the region that the United Arab Emirates will not participate in any attacks against Iran from our territory and that we will not be involved in such a conflict,” he told reporters in Geneva.

  31. You surely remember the story of how the red pennants on the cavalry’s lances came about?

It was during a skirmish with the neighboring village many hundreds of years ago in Dengamle’s relative youth.

As the whole village had lined up in the middle of the potato field facing the neighboring village, hurling violent blasphemies at each other, Dengamle saw the opportunity to snatch those big red apples he couldn’t reach otherwise, for the tree stood in the middle of the village – the village tree that was under round-the-clock surveillance because of him.

To reach the ripest apples, he stood up on the horse with a long pointed staff, and just as he had picked a red apple, he accidentally kicked the horse in the eye, causing it to take off at an enormous speed.

The position modern jockeys have in horse racing also comes from how Dengamle barely managed to hold on to the horse’s back with the long staff wedged under his arm and a red apple at the end.

The horse galloped in a wide arc through his neighbor’s collection of clay pots, a stockpile of dried fish, a couple of boxes of fresh fish, and all the village’s clay water jars, before setting its sights on the two rows of screaming villagers.

Unrelated, but Dengamle’s cry of “they’ve only been overturned” in an attempt to wriggle out of all the flattened clay pots later became Deus Vult, which lived on for quite a while.

Anyway, the village is quite accustomed to various antics and has been keeping an eye out behind them since they saw Dengamle sneak away, so they split up a bit like when Moses parted the Red Sea, but the neighboring village, not having the same intimate knowledge of Dengamle’s antics, is slower to react.

Anyway, Dengamle, in a modern jockey position, gallops straight towards the neighboring village’s great warrior and accidentally impales him on the apple staff, causing him to fall on his back with the staff pointing straight up – stone dead.

The horse stops despite Dengamle’s desperate attempts to flee the field, and he sees his life flash before his eyes as the village lifts him up in what he thinks is a lynching for all the village fishmongers with hoof prints, but quickly realizes that he is unexpectedly hailed as the village’s great warrior – he immediately puts on a warlike and fatherly expression and readily praises the rest of the village for holding off the neighboring village until he had formed for the attack just as planned.

    The rest is history.

        1. 👍👍👍
Apple stories are popular nowadays. Besides the old man, Leif GW and Minister Forsell are also into it. Do you remember the Apple War with Hasse and Tage? Fun movie.

  32. Is there any credible (of course not Johan, you probably understand that) who has read anything about the USA and Israel successfully targeting the robot and drone factories?

    1. Still responding – USA/Israel has taken out some of the underground supplies/factories/what else.

But apparently there are PLENTY OF THEM.

So Iran is like a damn termite mound with more space underground than above.

The good thing is that they store explosive materials in those underground structures so if you just get to one corner the whole system clears itself out afterwards.

  33. Stack in näsan på en annan blogg. Jeez, what a difference in quality in the daily reporting it has become, to their advantage.
Glad I left that duck pond.

    1. Advantage – has the other blog improved?

Yes, here it’s always full speed ahead with quality – as we usually say, quality and quantity in abundance.

      1. Regarding “Caffa” outside Trelleborg. Several serious errors have been discovered by “the Swedes”. In addition to the entire crew being sober, which is allowed but highly unusual on a boat with Russians, even worse was that the ship’s boy Pjotr did not receive varied locally sourced food from the Steward. Furthermore, the compass rose had not been watered since Morocco. It simply looked withered, which can affect navigation. The worst mistake, after all, was that the notes for the anchor windlass were missing. Very important when “Caffa” approaches the Gulf of Finland where it is easy to lose the anchor.

  34. Now that the other blog came up for discussion above – the corridor was quite narrow in terms of what one could write, the attacks endless, the good atmosphere zero and so on.

I might be a bit early since Dengamle managed to beg his way back to getting the MXT login back (weak moment there MXT…)

But hasn’t it worked here not to heavily moderate?

Moreover, there isn’t particularly much conflict and somewhat on topic with certain theme days, like other posts from me or when MXT is extra mad at Trump?

So, there’s no need to harass people in the comment section and call it moderation, it still works.

There are about four million people reading the page per day and a lot of them are from Colombia now.

    1. I probably read the other blog a few years ago but never created a login because I was afraid of being canceled if someone perceived me as right-wing, left-wing, or zero-eight, or if I wrote something that could be misinterpreted or taken out of context and misinterpreted, or wrote too long sentences 🙂 , or used too many commas and periods.

      1. I went there to write “those who build a country are the families with children, not a single artist with two black rats in a cage”. It was of course meant exactly as it was written.

Some readers reacted very strongly to the fact that I apparently meant a single mother with two adopted immigrant children from Africa and how I could call adopted children black rats.

The blog owner then became very upset about how I could wade into a sea of racism and I had the post removed and then stopped writing there.

Before that, some discussion with Dengamle was misinterpreted where a couple of writers became extremely upset about how I was persecuting Dengamle and then how I was ruining the mood in that thread by not criticizing Trump enough but too much Biden, this was before Trump was president.

And of course, the joke of pretending to log in with another account – really undermining democracy according to some.

In that thread, you can criticize Trump as much as you want but preferably not at all on Biden.

I can inform you that besides MXT’s constant attacks, it was my best decision in adulthood even though it took a few months before MXT and I found the form of everything.

The amount of attacks in that comment field was not healthy at all actually – that comment field seems to bring out the absolute worst in people.

        1. I remember that post so well, and couldn’t understand the panic that almost arose. Then when I was going to read it again to check that I hadn’t missed anything, the post was gone.
And this bickering with DenGamle was really nothing to get worked up about, you and Erik were like two peas in a pod. And I am completely convinced that DG can defend himself regardless of the type of weapon if needed.
I am so happy that you and MTX started this blog, it brings more dynamics when no one moderates so strictly when it comes to loyalty to the main topic.
          Keep up the good work!

    2. There is one advantage with the other blog and that is the night watch. If a certain pea-eating king had moved over here, it would have been gold.

    1. Unilaterally good.

“Evil must not be given opportunities for coordination, but the protection of life must be clearly coordinated,”

Zelensky also repeats that the war in the Middle East is a war against a West-hostile axis:

Zelensky “emphasized that the Russians are now trying to manipulate the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region in favor of their aggression, as well as to turn the Iranian regime’s strikes against its neighbors and American bases into a second front in Russia’s war against Ukraine and, more broadly, the entire West.

MXT, does it only exist in Zelensky’s head? 🙂

The statement focuses on the question posted above:

      “MacMelmac 2026-03-09 at 13:20:24

What if the USA (or Israel) were completely fooled by Iran to attack them. Now they are shooting at everything and everyone, dragging the whole region into … (read above)”

Is the Iran war an escalation of October 7, driven / provoked by the Russia-Iran axis?

  35. You know that sometime during the first two weeks of April, the ground will carry out offensive operations again.

Ukraine has something sneaky going on.

RU may not have much energy?

  36. Fram i Natten

For those who want to know.

The expression “forward into the night” is known from stories about the Swedish UN forces during the Congo Crisis (1960–1965).

It is said to have been uttered by a Swedish officer in connection with operations during the United Nations Operation in the Congo (ONUC), where Swedish soldiers participated in battles and patrols against Katangese forces.

    The significance in that context

When the officer said something like “we are moving forward into the night,” it meant that:
    • one continues the advance despite darkness and uncertainty,
    • one does not stop, but continues the operation during the night.

It has therefore become a kind of symbolic expression of determination among Swedish UN soldiers in Congo.

    Source: ChatGPT

    1. That was very interesting, thank you.

Similarly, my profile picture, Putin on a hummingbird, was very popular among UN soldiers in Mali at the time.

      1. Fram i Natten

Hahah. Haven’t seen so closely 🐦.

Hahah. A little turd like a slime worm.

        It is mine. Only mine.
Will perform a ritual for 10 weeks in scorching hot Swedish summer rain with lots of coarse salt and dull table knives.

  37. Check out the UAmap and then below, on UA map you get a completely different perception of what it looks like in Stepnohirsk, which is strange because UA officials clearly state that they are in Stepnohirsk.

  38. As I reported on / speculated about in Friday

    DN:

Oil price falls after Trump’s statement

The US president tells CBS that he is considering taking over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important transportation routes for the world’s oil exports. The statement caused the price of oil, which has risen sharply in recent days, to decline. Immediately after the speech, the price dropped by 25 percent, to $90 per barrel – compared to almost $120 this morning.

And this speculation proved to be correct

    Trump: War essentially over

The US and Israel’s war with Iran is “very much ahead of schedule,” says US President Donald Trump to CBS News.

    – I think the war is very much over, essentially, says Trump, adding that Iran “has no navy, no communication, and no air force.”

    – They have nothing left. There’s nothing left from a military perspective.

  39. Johan, good that Trump declares victory, because it may be dangerous to get stuck in the Middle East with a large part of the American military force (read NATO!) while at the same time building up militarily in western Russia (towards the Baltics/Finland?) and northern Russia (Murmansk, naval forces)?
