Russian losses and activities

It looks like Ukraine has once again attacked the oil pumping station Krymskaya in Krasnodar krai in Russia, post here.

Unfortunately, Russia also attacked Ukraine. In Odesa, two people were killed, in Poltava one person was killed and one was injured, and in Sumy, a residential building was attacked resulting in 14 people being injured. Read more here.

Russian losses October 20, 2023 – A nostalgic trip

Do you remember October 20, 2023?
It was a real highlight in terms of Russian losses. Not a record in terms of KWIA even though it was high, but at that time Russia had plenty of equipment and dared to use it. On this particular day, a record was set for armor losses, which still stands today. A total of 175 units.
The whole of October is a record month that probably will never be repeated in terms of armor losses.

During October, a total of 520 tanks and 820 other armored vehicles were lost.
That’s more than what most countries have in total for their defense.

  1. “❗️At night, strike drones repeatedly attacked the territory of the 🇷🇺Krymskaya oil pumping station in the Krasnodar Krai.”

  2. He really wants Orbán to win.

“Trump: “My Admin stands ready to use full Economic Might of US to strengthen Hungary’s Economy, as we have done for our Great Allies in the past, if PM Orbán and the Hungarian People ever need it. We are excited to invest in future Prosperity that will be generated by Orbán’s continued Leadership!””

      1. Yes, it is probably scary when you see how the USA and Russia are now aiming to divide us and straightforwardly trying to undermine democracy in Europe.

  3. The front attacks show an interesting trend this morning, in themselves and in relation to the loss steps with a sharply rising KWIA. The Russian attacks decreased. The unlocalized ones increased instead, kindly interpreted as Ukrainian counterattacks. In the north, the Russians thought to escalate, in the far north in the Kursk area, it has been relatively calm in recent weeks.

    1. Sometimes I get a feeling that KWIA is rising at the same time as unlocalized seizures are increasing or on the rise?

But as I said, just a feeling and nothing I can substantiate. Kind of logical though if RU attacks with the same intensity while Ukraine increases…

      1. That’s what I have decided for myself as well. That the number of KWIA per non-localized attack is greater than during a localized attack. Like 15-25 KWIA per Ukrainian compared to 2-4 KWIA per Russian. Perhaps this can be explained by the fact that Russian attacks occur at a group level (3-8 people) without anything other than light vehicles, i.e., no protection, and are more opportunistic, while the Ukrainian ones are more planned, involve more personnel, and probably, armor that not only protects but also provides more firepower.

    1. The question is not how Trump’s triumphal arch will look, but how will the European triumphal arch take shape, and where? Do we need blinders?

        1. Macron recently brought home the French gold from the Fed. 2437 tons. A good start!

France Has Moved All Its Gold Out of the United States

The Banque de France has completed a full withdrawal of its gold reserves from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Between July 2025 and January 2026, 129 tonnes of French gold stored in New York were sold and replaced with equivalent bullion purchased in Europe. All of France’s 2,437 tonnes of gold now sit in Paris. Every last bar.

      1. I think we can wait with that until we have some trump card to brag about.
The day we firmly helped Ukraine crush Russia, for example.

Trumpet bows to celebrate that the USA turns 250 years old is just ridiculous, only for show! 😄

    2. Wings on the Statue of Liberty…. is it perhaps so that she will have the opportunity to fly back to France if it starts to become too unbearable and project 25 is fully realized……

    3. Was in Paris here a few weeks ago, in their arch there are the names of over 600 generals and about 130 battles from the Crimean War.

I guess in Trump’s arch there will be 100 times “Donald Trump”, the 100 biggest (worst) dictators, and 150 fictional battles.

  4. 2000 units by 2030? It’s not just Europe that takes time to scale up.

“🚀 Defense contractor Lockheed Martin has been handed a $4.7 billion Pentagon contract for Patriot interceptors, – WSJ The deal is a step toward the company increasing production of the PAC-3 MSE interceptor from 620 last year to 2,000 per year by 2030.”

  5. Should Europe🇪🇺🇬🇧🇹🇷🇳🇴 pull an Iran🇮🇷/Venezuela🇻🇪 in Hungary 🇭🇺? It’s our sphere of interest after all, so neither Trump 🇺🇸 nor Putin 🇷🇺 should be able to object. And security: Sharing information with the Kremlin. What can anyone do if we step in? Putin 🇷🇺 is busy. But we probably need to secure 🇬🇱 Greenland first. Maybe coordinate with Canada 🇨🇦. And can we involve Israel 🇮🇱 in exchange for more support in the war against Hezbollah🇮🇷? An Israel that has blamed the Kremlin 🇷🇺 for the attacks on Israel 🇮🇱 on October 7, 2023.

Rumors are circulating that the Russians are increasing their strategic reserves to compensate for the losses. They are weakening towards the other neighboring countries. So, it’s time to follow up Hungary 🇭🇺 with the Königsberg enclave 🇩🇪 🇵🇱 and the part of Karelia that Finland 🇫🇮 was forced to give up by Stalin. Some Finnish territory in the north as well. And the Russian oligarchs’ cottages on Åland are being turned into NATO military installations.

Moldova, Georgia are appearing on the radar…

    1. Well, even if Orban is a scumbag, I don’t think it would be good for the EU if we start behaving like Russia or the USA, but, on the other hand, we should hit hard against those who try to disrupt the democratic processes within the EU’s countries.

  6. Soon the ground will bear and then the RU attacks will start, resulting in rampant Russian deaths.

    Then UA’s own attacks.

The man on the street in Ukraine is now sensing the morning air, they feel that the tide has turned.

Expect a more and more desperate Trump regarding the UA war.

Was it worth waiting so long, a stratagem of war?

No, what if UA had fallen…

2022 was this low point, then we sabotaged Ukraine’s chances and now they managed to get all the pieces in place again.

    Legends.

    1. No f-ck, no Triumphal Arch in sight. In terms of security: military operation to open Hormuz or Russian LNG? The choice should not be controversial.

      1. Joking aside.

One might think that we should take the hit this year to end the war, not try to fill the gas reserves with Russian gas.

Of course, the USA/Trump’s plan is exactly this, but can’t we buy from Canada instead?

  7. Israel has apparently decided to resume settlements again with the reservation that it is fake news like smr in Ohio 😳

It’s a free for all right now.

China has increased significantly around Taiwan.

2026 is the year and the only ones standing completely in the spotlight are damn Ukraine.

    1. Someone said above that the USA is just a child. Every square meter of Israeli land has been preceded by war. Israel was founded in 1948. Not even the infant…

  8. Trump has the right priorities, completely destroy MENA unnecessarily and then focus all attention on a triumphal arch.

    The jokes write themselves

  9. I don’t think that during my life I have seen a country like Ukraine, have you?

They constantly manage to balance on the right side in everything.

    1. Njae…. KMT Koumingtan has been mindful of its relations with mainland China since Chiang Kai Chek’s passing, which accelerated when Communist China embraced capitalism. I suspect that, to a large extent, for the KMT, it is rooted in the same motivations as it is for Fidesz, i.e. power, greed, corruption, and tribute.

  10. Iran still has thousands of robots and the country’s launch ramps can be repaired, moreover, there are indications that China is ready to send new air defense systems to Iran. This is shown by American intelligence information that Wall Street Journal and CNN have access to. WSJ’s information contradicts the Trump administration’s official narrative that Iran’s robot capacity has been disabled. The assessment is that Iran still has half of its robots left, which is thousands, and that the country should be able to quickly replenish its arsenals to the same level as before the war. “The Iranians have shown a remarkable ability to quickly adapt and rebuild their forces,” says Kenneth Pollack, former CIA analyst and vice policy chief at the Middle East Institute. CNN’s information suggests that help may come from China, which is currently working to send air defense systems through a third country to conceal their true origin.

    1. Correct and we wrote that early.

so WHY did Israel let in all the Shia militias?

      I DO NOT UNDERSTAND.

the only way to de-escalate is for there to be a regime change.

Israel’s security situation is now terrible but it is the laws of war that apply now.

      1. Suggestion: to avoid having them close to Israel when they attack Hezbollah in Lebanon (and Syria). Then another advantage, now they are gathered in one place without the protection of air defense. Perhaps the militias saw Israel coming in Lebanon/Syria and in fact, it’s a retreat? Why would they bother to defend a regime whose army is crushed?

    2. USA lies as much as RUS but the problem seems to be that the fool in the Kremlin knows about it, while the fool in the White House does not know about it.

  11. Good day.
Was on the “other blog” for a bit and was struck by how much chatter there has been about Swedish domestic politics, especially about SD being an extension of the Kremlin in Swedish politics and what quislings M, KD, and L are. I am a bit surprised at how quickly the author-blogger has shifted from focusing solely on Ukraine and avoiding trivialities about domestic politics, as I am politically independent, to C being the only true conservative party. Could it be that he or his wife is going to run for C?

      1. I vote like Bosse Parnevik. He once said that he votes for the party that is “the best for the most people.” But he didn’t say which one he meant. So it will be blank until I figure out which one he meant. But I vote municipally and sometimes regionally. It has been different from election to election. At sea, there were no communist sympathies. Not that I noticed anyway. The reason: We saw with our own eyes how terrible it was in those countries. Worst: East Germany!

      1. I think it’s really sad that he’s ruining his blog with that. I’ve been following his blog since 2022 and unfortunately, I feel that it’s not just the blog that has changed but also his persona… or maybe he’s always been like that… well, sad is the word.
Just for the record, I want to add that I’m not a member of or have any plans to vote for the Swedish Democrats.

      2. I do not vote for SD. Before the last election, I read all party programs and could find issues with all that I could sympathize with except for one, which happens to be Johan’s favorite party. That being said, I mean that his attacks on SD only divide people, much like Russian trolls want to do in comment fields. No shadow should fall on LW, but I think he should consider that his blog has a great influence, both positively but, as I see it in this case, negatively.

    1. Flurrevuppen

Regarding domestic politics… interesting view on democracy and freedom of speech in Örebro… how large will GDPR fines be for a region? Must feel like well-spent tax money I think….

    2. To clarify – here there is total freedom of speech as long as one criticizes MP and praises me 👍

Jokes aside, or was it a joke 🧐

No one has been blocked here and personal attacks are rare + often on topic.

This thread works well without heavy moderation.

If you start controlling opinions with the block button, it becomes a rather dull echo chamber with not much discussion.

    3. Selling the farm, moving to Stockholm, and running for the Center Party seems likely.
No, I gave up on that blog after the election before last. Back then, I was labeled an idiot and stamped as an MP supporter just because I thought the MP (Green Party) was completely right in the sense that they were following their election promise. The fact that I didn’t like the MP’s politics and thought they were completely off track is another matter, but no one cared about that. According to the self-proclaimed experts, I was definitely a Green Party supporter.
Echo chambers and backslappers create people like Trump and Putin… and others as well.

    4. I was blocked because in a post I thought it would be a good idea to try to understand what drove half of the electorate to vote for Trump. If the Democratic Party had made such an effort, maybe we would have been spared him.

  12. Instead of prosecuting violations of international law (free passage) in the Strait of Hormuz, Norway, France, Germany, and others nominate the regime that just shot several women in the forehead with snipers during the protests that resulted in tens of thousands of deaths.

Congratulations to all brave war crime prosecutors! And congratulations to all women who sacrificed themselves for the sake of freedom.

Which mullah is Norway leaning the Nobel Peace Prize towards?

    Again, congratulations! 🙌

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has just been nominated to the U.N. Committee for Program and Coordination, which meets soon to shape policy on women’s rights, human rights, disarmament, and terrorism prevention.”

Issues to be addressed by this U.N. committee: May 14: Gender Equality & Empowerment of Women May 19: Disarmament May 21: Human Rights May 21: Terrorism Prevention

    1. There is something in what you write, 205. At least when it comes to oil and gas. Since the oil was present in the North Sea before 1905 (the dissolution of the Union) and even before 1814 (when Denmark handed over Norway to Sweden), the oil should belong to all three countries. 🇳🇴🇩🇰🇸🇪
