A sudden increase in Russian attacks in the Kursk region. No record levels but the front section has been quiet for a few weeks at least, and the last few days around zero. Otherwise, increases across several sections, not least in and around Pokrovsk.

Overall – this is how UA can keep going for a while BUT Europe must start standing up here.

Why a Break With Ukraine Would Be the Biggest Defeat in US History
If Ukraine walks away, the United States loses more than a partner. It loses the foundation of its power. American strength has never been based on weapons alone. What made the US a superpower was that other nations chose to align with it. Influence came from being the centre of a network of democracies that trusted Washington more than any rival.
A rupture with Ukraine would expose how fragile that network has become. Europe has already begun shifting its long term defense spending away from the US. Losing Ukraine would confirm that the United States is no longer the natural leader of the Western alliance. When partners stop depending on Washington, American power stops scaling. Its military remains large, but its reach shrinks.
The economic consequences follow immediately. Once Europe reorganizes its defense market around its own industry, American suppliers lose access to the richest democratic market in the world. Those contracts do not return. Neither does the leverage that comes from being indispensable.
The strategic cost is even clearer. Ukraine has been the most visible test of American commitment since nineteen forty five. If the US cannot hold that line, allies will conclude that Washington’s guarantees are conditional and unpredictable. They will design their own security strategies without the US at the centre. That is how superpowers lose status: partners stop believing, and the world recalculates.
Ukraine will continue fighting for survival. The United States will be left fighting for relevance. And losing that fight is far more damaging than losing any battlefield.

Russia struck the Azerbaijani embassy in Kyiv with an Iskander missile during a nighttime bombardment. Moscow called it an accident. Baku saw it as deliberate retaliation.
Azerbaijan has quietly become one of Russia’s most disruptive rivals. Reports confirm Baku sent Su-22 fighter jets to Ukraine through a covert logistics chain running through Turkey, Sudan, and Germany. The aircraft are re-labeled as humanitarian aid and shipped via routes that once carried Russian-linked arms.
Azerbaijan also broke Gazprom’s pipeline monopoly. Ukraine received its first Azerbaijani gas through the Trans-Balkan pipeline, a route Russia once dominated. The volumes are small, but the deal marks Kyiv’s first alternative source since cutting all Russian imports. Across Europe, Serbia is preparing new gas contracts with Baku as US sanctions push Gazprom out.
The Zangezur Corridor linking Azerbaijan through Armenia to Turkey is reshaping trade routes between Europe and Asia without crossing Russian territory. The project followed Azerbaijan’s offensive in Nagorno-Karabakh, which exposed Russia’s failure as a regional peacekeeper.
Azerbaijan has become the smallest state to inflict deep strategic damage on Russia – replacing Moscow’s role in Ukraine’s defense, Europe’s energy grid, and Caucasus transit networks. The embassy strike exposes Russia lashing out as its influence crumbles in its own neighborhood.

We have been told repeatedly and unambiguously that Ukraine’s security, and therefore Europe’s security, will be Europe’s responsibility. And now it is. Entirely.
If you are a European leader asking your team to book you on the next flight to Washington to go talk to Daddy, please don’t.
Not without a plan, not cap in hand, not humiliating us all in front of the cameras at the Oval office.
Europe is our continent, our future is decided here, not there. We aren’t poor, we have options, we can finally decide to assist Ukraine to the full extent of our very extensive capabilities, restore European dignity and defend Europe.
Or we can continue to wait for the miracle we now know is not coming.
