A bit calmer numbers today but that’s how it can be. UA continues to strike against rear Russian resources. More and more with air it seems!
Yes, it has been higher for a while now.
There usually comes a day in the week (and during the weekends) where the losses decrease, so it might just be temporary.
Now Trump has reacted to Zelensky saying no to the latest version of the mineral agreement.
“Zelensky is trying to walk away from the rare earths deal and if he does, he’s going to have problems, big, big problems. He says he wants to renegotiate the terms, he wants to join NATO, but he understands he’ll never be in NATO” — Trump”
It might end up with a mineral agreement with Russia instead.
“US, Russia begin talks on rare earth minerals projects, Moscow claims”
“Washington and Moscow have begun discussions on projects related to Russian rare earth minerals, said Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, in an interview with the Russian newspaper Izvestia published on March 31.”
https://kyivindependent.com/us-russia-begin-talks-on-rare-earth-minerals-projects-moscow-claims/
It would be a wet dream for Russia, as the USA would essentially acknowledge the occupied areas as Russian. However, the information about these discussions comes from Russia, so it could be considered a lie until proven otherwise.
“Skytt öppnar eld mot polisen i Rysslands Murmansk. En lokal invånare öppnade eld mot en polispatrull från taket på en bostadsbyggnad i Murmansk sent den 30 mars, sade myndigheterna och tillade att ingen skadades av angriparen.”
“At least nobody who is still alive…”
“Somewhere in Kursk, a Russian casually films a Pantsir-S system doing what it apparently does best — blowing up spectacularly. Coming soon to theaters: “Self-Destruction: Pantsir Edition, Vol. 27.” Genre: Dark comedy with smoke effects.”
“Meanwhile in Russia: head of RT Margarita Simonyan says that Russia is defeating the United States every single day. She mocks Donald Trump and JD Vance for pathetically cosplaying Putin, with their plans to annex Greenland based on a future referendum.”
Unfortunately, I am inclined to partially agree with her, but it is perhaps more of a parody of Russian politics that they are trying to portray in the show.
⚡️ 57 HOSTILE UAVs SHOT DOWN, 45 IMITATION DRONES DID NOT REACH THEIR TARGETS (LOST IN THE FIELD)
During the night of March 31, 2025 (from 8:00 p.m. on March 30), the enemy launched an attack with two ballistic missiles of the Iskander-M type from the Kursk region, 131 combat UAVs of the Shahed type, and various types of imitation drones from the directions: Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russian Federation.
The air attack was repelled by air defense missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile firing groups from the Ukrainian Air Force and Armed Forces.
💥 As of 9:00, 57 attack UAVs of the Shahed type (and other types of drones) have been confirmed shot down in the northern, eastern, and central parts of the country.
45 hostile imitation drones were lost in the area (without negative consequences).
The Russian attack affected the regions of Sumy, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Zhytomyr.
‘Putin couldn’t care less about diplomacy‘ — Zelensky says as Russia steps up attacks on Ukraine. “For several weeks, there has been a U.S. proposal for an unconditional ceasefire. And almost every day, in response to this proposal, there are Russian drones, bombs, artillery shelling, and ballistic strikes,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.

Doctors resume operating on patients at military hospital hit by Russian strike. “Operations have resumed in the operating rooms, which were damaged by the blast wave. The hospital cannot stop providing assistance and treating patients for even a minute.”

Partisans destroy electronic warfare system in occupied Kherson Oblast, military intelligence suggests. Russian occupants use such electronic warfare systems to “suppress radio communications and conduct electronic intelligence. The loss of such a system significantly weakens the capabilities of the aggressor’s army,” Ukraine’s military intelligence wrote.

About Syrskyi’s influence on AFU🇺🇦’s strategy and priorities, and the value of the southern offensive in the summer of 2023, when Zaluzchnyi was still the head of AFU🇺🇦. According to NYT, Syrskyi’s perception differed from the then Valeriy Zaluchniy’s on how to prioritize the frontlines, and Syrskyi, who was behind the successful Kharkiv sprint/offensive, had President Zelensky’s ear. There has been talk that NATO tactics did not work in the southern offensive against Melitopol and that NATO/USA imposed AFU without proper anchoring. The article provides a counterpoint that the southern offensive did not receive the necessary resources. https://kyivindependent.com/nyt-potential-melitopol-offensive-was-sidelined-by-syrskyis-desire-to-take-back-bakhmut/

“Ukrainska flyganfall mot ryska markmål.”

What the hell hits. F16 with precision missiles. As a comment said in the thread. Europe understands that it is impossible to talk to Russia.
Yes, drones are all well and good, but this is a couple of levels up on the ladder of explosions.
“Under natten har ukrainska drönare enligt uppgift attackerat flygfältet Shaykovka i Rysslands Kaluga-region. Skadebedömningen pågår.”
I have been on tour and had time to listen to various podcasts in the car, a few weeks ago it was some episodes of “Gräns” on Spotify, I think, and “Radiokorrespondenterna Ryssland” on SR Play. By coincidence, I also listened to the song “Fred” by Imperiet this week when it popped up on another blog…meh 🙂
After listening to some podcast episodes about Russia and Putin, maybe peace is not what we and Ukraine want or need. Unfortunately, it’s better to wear down the Russians to their shoe soles and increase support both economically and militarily; Russia must change as it is today.
Most likely, as many write, the Russians will reload during a pause/ceasefire or peace; any de-escalation in Ukraine will free up troops and equipment to test NATO, poke a little at the Baltic states, and see what happens, teasing at the border with Team Sisu. If it doesn’t feel like poking a stick into a hornet’s nest, then it’s okay to go all-in against Russia; NATO and Article 5 are toothless.
Gotland is a priority target, and Åland and Bornholm are also targets the Russians want to have, all to block the Baltic Sea from incoming help from allies minus the USA; from Gotland to Königsberg would then be a good defense line.
With the USA removing its protective hand and openly/leaking mocking a Europe that is completely unprepared to take care of its defense, it will trigger Putin.
Perhaps it’s best for the war to continue until 2025 and into the summer of 2026 when the Russian economy is likely to have collapsed unless Trump has assisted Russia by then by lifting sanctions and starting to do business. For a while, I had hoped for Oktoberfest in Kiev in 2025, but as the blogger mentioned, September 2025 could be a time when new things happen that redraw the map. Time will tell.
Russia’s hybrid war in Europe and the rest of the world will continue with undiminished strength unless the Russian cancer is cut out. Unfortunately, more Ukrainians will be killed and injured until then.
Damn, so much is happening now, and many are writing on various blogs to “keep your eye on the ball”…well, that’s true in some sports, but in football, it’s good to keep an eye on the opponents, how they move, where their teammates are…if you stare at the ball, you’ve lost track of yourself immediately. Russia is actually world-class in some things, propaganda, playing the long game, shifting focus…my feeling is that the USA is completely losing itself in negotiations with Russia about Ukraine; they will stand there eating sausages while Putin and his gang shuffle the cards.
I could not have imagined in my wildest dreams that it would be with drones from Iran and meat from North Korea that the Russians could continue their idiotic attack on Ukraine.
I intentionally wrote certain countries in lowercase, the disgusting and slimy backstabbers, they play in the same league as ticks, silverfish, and killer slugs.
UA should not even consider peace until RU asks for it, preferably on their knees. Peace at this point only benefits RU.
To wear down the Russians in the current way for another year can only be UA’s decision, we are not the ones sacrificing human lives. We can think and have opinions, but it is their decision based on their reality, not what we wish or want (or anyone else for that matter).
I also believe that Skåne, at least the southern part, is of interest to RU, as they would then control a large part of all traffic in and out through the strait.
One of the problems with the current admin. in the USA is that they want to do everything quickly, no long-term thinking at all. As you write, RU is very long-term in their diabolical plans, a legacy from the planned economy in the Soviet Union. Putin has marinated the population well for decades.
Exactly, Ukraine decides for itself, as I wrote, we support with what we can, preferably a lot and quickly.
Just like the interests of the USA and Ukraine can clash, so can the interests of Europe and Ukraine clash. But as was said, it just goes to show that we should support Ukraine with everything we can so that they can still choose the option to continue fighting.

UK to buy US F-35A fighter jets in multi-billion pound deal, – The Times Ministers are set to confirm the purchase of F-35s to replace the “expensive” Eurofighter Typhoons. Officials are confident that Britain will be able to operate the planes independently of the US.

Is this a way for the UK to avoid the trade war?
I suspect that the EU will take UK’s “betrayal” into account when Europe is gearing up, which means that fewer orders will go to the UK.
This is rather to some extent a response to the EU’s “betrayal” – that it has been explicitly stated that British defense material is not included in what can be purchased with that giant fund for the purchase of European defense material that was launched recently. Apparently the French were the ones who lobbied hard for it – at least according to sour British reports.
These French people 😠
And it can become a problem for the Swedish defense industry since, for example, Hägglund is part of the British BAE Systems…
Has there been any anchor draggings lately? It seems to be over now. The Russians were seriously exposed. I’m not sure if the hybrid war will continue at full strength.
It was an incident off the coast of Ireland about 2 weeks ago. We should also not overlook the Russian captain who managed to hit a tanker.
Yes, that’s true. We’ll see how it develops.

Interesting! Is it according to UA’s laws? Or is a ceasefire enough as we all know that RU will not care about it?
Hmmmmm
They will investigate what measures need to be taken, perhaps an amendment to the constitution.
Could very well be a game to show that it is not possible.
Not feeling completely well about that – introducing an uncertainty that Putin will try to capitalize on to the maximum.
Maybe it’s just a tactic from Ukraine?
Sweden presents its largest military support package to Ukraine to date. The package amounts to 16 billion Swedish kronor. The largest part, over 9 billion, will be used by Sweden to purchase weapons and equipment, which will then be delivered to Ukraine. Purchases will mainly be made from the Swedish, but also from the European defense industry. The majority of the deliveries are expected to be relatively quick, within 24 months. The second largest portion in the package is 5 billion, which will go to funds and payments to Ukraine’s own defense industry. 1 billion is a donation from the Armed Forces’ inventory, including machine guns, ammunition, and medical transport vehicles.

Possibly the biggest news of the year 😀✊

By the way, that explains why artillery and MLRS have been so active in recent months 😁
Is it fiber, or are they using some kind of relay with powerline adapters?
Goes more than legally bad for RU in Pokrovsk right now 👍💥

Finally a breakthrough in Pokrovsk 💖

Trump’s spiritual advisor visits Bucha, Irpin and Borodianka

Comment by Carl Bildt: “Europe is a larger global trading force than the US, and must now reach out to others to preserve and deepen a global trading system that the US is withdrawing from. Imports to US, which Trump can tax, is just 13% of global imports.”
If the USA withdraws from trade, they will also withdraw from securing trade routes. Perhaps even Europe will need to impose tariffs as a fee to finance secure trade routes.
China, Japan, and South Korea have agreed on a joint response to U.S. tariffs 😳
Perhaps not so strange then, since Vance claimed that it didn’t matter if one bombed Japan, they were still friends.
