In the Kupyansk sector, 11 attacks by occupiers took place in the last 24 hours. Ukrainian defense forces repelled the enemy’s attacks near Pishchane, Stepova Novoselivka, Nova Kruhlyakivka, and Zahryzove.

In the northern sector /Siverskyi, the enemy attacked in the areas of Bilohorivka, Ivan-Daryivka, and towards Verkhnekamianske and Serebryanka. A total of 15 firefights took place yesterday.

Yesterday, Ukrainian air force, missile troops, and artillery struck five areas where the enemy’s personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated.

UA destroys over 400 Russians in Pokrovsk every day, perhaps not so strange since there are many attacks there.
The Russians have also attempted to enter Sumy to attack those supporting Kursk from behind. Not entirely successful for the Russians.

When the advanced editor is added, it waits a few milliseconds first to make sure that the regular editor has been loaded before it is replaced by the advanced one. I have extended that time, in case the tablet needs a little more time. It might seem a bit far-fetched if you already have the page open and are just switching between them, but I thought it might be worth a try. Please let me know if you notice any difference for better or worse.

  5. As Russian troops retake settlements in Kursk Oblast, Ukraine launches attack on adjacent Russian region

In late March, Ukrainian troops launched a raid into Russia’s Belgorod Oblast.

The small-scale incursion into yet another Russian region may be Ukraine’s attempt to alleviate the pressure from the country’s troops still fighting in the adjacent Kursk Oblast.
The Ukrainian troop number is unclear, but Western vehicles, such as U.S. Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, appear to have been part of the operation, Kastehelmi said, citing Russian videos. He added that he is not sure if Ukrainian troops were still actively pushing forward or if they were just holding onto the positions that they captured, as the “element of surprise” at the initial phase of the raid is gone.

    1. It was indeed positive, and they had also mentioned the previous agreements regarding Ukr. That you have broken, which shows an awareness of reality that is now lacking at the top. 👍

  8. This graph shows the “price” of Russian advancement in Ukraine in recent months: In November 2024, it took Russians 7.1 attacks on average to advance 1 km2. In December & January, this number grew to 15.9 & 15.7, respectively. In February, it took Russians 17.1 attacks to capture 1 km2 of Ukrainian land.

    Tips to China:
Start by running over Russia with the bus and stop all trade, instead support Ukraine and you will gain many points. Also, let East Turkestan and Taiwan become independent and stop oppressing and committing abuses, etc. so maybe you will stop being perceived as the disgusting communist dictatorship you are today.
Can’t be so damn difficult to treat people with respect, right?

      Tips for the USA:
Start by driving over Russia with the bus and stop all trade, instead support Ukraine so you will earn many points. Also let Panama and Greenland become independent and stop oppressing and committing abuses, etc. so maybe you will stop being perceived as the disgusting (optional) you are today.
Can’t be so damn hard to treat people with respect, right?

    2. The news gets two 👍👍. They could start by discussing with Taiwan instead of growling and spinning around with warships.
The way the USA behaves, China will probably become more popular than the USA without making more effort than that.

      1. Not impossible, one has had significantly higher expectations of the USA so the disappointment becomes even greater when they cannot behave.

  15. Now the USA is upset that Europe is stopping buying their weapons – when we are doing exactly what Trump says we should do 🧐

(Very expected but we wrote that as well).

160,000 are called up for military service in the Russian army.

“Putin calls up 160,000 men to Russian army in latest conscription drive, at crucial moment in Ukraine war”

    1. Those are regular conscripts so they are not ready for high knees and meat attacks until about a year.
They normally recruit around 250,000 per year if I remember correctly. A group in the spring and one in the fall.
So no immediate threat, just completely normal (even though there were slightly more than usual).

      1. Robert Calvert

Do the soldiers recruited in 2024 usually get a year before high knee and meat wave attacks?
If not, why would these ones get it?

        1. The training for conscripts is around a year. Conscripts are normally not actively used in the war except for Kursk, where there were some who were assigned to guard the border and got in the way of Ukraine when they attacked. It can of course change at any time but I actually believe that Putin is trying to keep his promise that they will not have to fight in Ukraine.

He dares not mobilize, and I don’t think he dares to risk having masses of 18 – 20-year-olds coming home in coffins.

However, he is surely trying to ensure that as many of them as possible enlist already during their conscription or right after.

If one should worry, it is because many of those who were drafted a year ago are now choosing to enlist.

It was probably when they mobilized before that those who are recruited barely receive any training.

      2. Robert Calvert

I can, however, imagine that they actually receive better education than usual, and are mature just in time for the final exercise Zapad-2025.

    2. I remember that they decided around 2023 to increase the number of conscripts in order to eventually build a larger army.

Apparently, conscripts are only allowed to be used to defend the Moscow Empire if there is no state of war. And officially, the war in Ukraine is an anti-terrorist operation, so they won’t be called up.

However, some might be “persuaded” to sign contracts, but probably not Ivan from Moscow or St. Petersburg.

  17. Poor excuse, what Russia imagines is nothing to worry about?
“Poland will not send troops to Ukraine because the Russian Federation will think that Warsaw wants to seize Ukrainian territories. We do not want to give them a reason to think so,” said Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski.”

    1. Robert Calvert

I think we need to read between the lines here.

Europe is going to send troops to Ukraine.
Except for Finland, the Baltic countries, and Poland.

      The reason should be obvious:
Europe also needs to send troops to Finland, the Baltic countries, and Poland.
The talk about what Russia thinks and wants is just smoke and mirrors.

      That’s how I interpret it.

  19. Tesla delivered 337,000 electric cars during the first quarter. It was significantly below the expected 390,000 vehicles and the lowest sales figure since the second quarter of 2022. In total, sales declined by 13 percent during the quarter compared to a year ago.

  20. Westley Richard

The stock in Trump Media falls 7 percent after it became known that the company’s namesake is considering selling all his shares in the company. According to a filing with the regulatory authority in the USA, a sale of 142 million shares is planned, including Donald Trump’s 114 million shares. The transaction is supposed to take place “from time to time.” Donald Trump’s shares in the company are worth around 22 billion Swedish kronor.

    https://omni.se/a/QM0VQ8

    Many are surely asking why?

    – Is he going to enter TikTok?
    – Does he want to leave the stock market as it risks collapsing during the ongoing trade war?
    – Is it time to pay off a creditor?

The US president can sell shares for 22 billion, if a Swedish minister were to accidentally buy shares for 10 thousand kronor, the Swedish media would go crazy.

  21. Look, Trump is doing something good,
    sanctions against Russia!

Previously during the war, the USA has sanctioned over 2000 individuals and 1500 companies so 4+5 more may not make a difference but it’s a first small step in the right direction.

“The USA has imposed new sanctions against Russians. This was announced by the Department of the Treasury according to Reuters. Five individuals and four legal entities, meaning companies or organizations, have been added to the USA’s list of ‘global terrorists’.”

  22. Hello!
Completely “off topic” but does anyone have a link to statistics on bombed/damaged infrastructure on Ukrainian healthcare and emergency services?
I have pictures and other materials. It’s going to be a simple PowerPoint.

    1. Thank you!
I will hold a small lecture for a social studies class in year 2. They have a legal course focusing on “Law and Society”, with a specialization in “Laws of War”. I have pictures from our trips in UA.

  23. Sorry, this is really off-topic, but so damn good that they managed to shut down the crap and hope they can catch as many involved as possible!

“The pedophile network and abuse site ‘Kidflix’ has been shut down by German and Dutch police, several media outlets report. The site is said to have had 91,000 unique video clips of child abuse on the darknet.”

    1. Sorry, but I have no sympathy for such swine!
      Boil tar on the bastards!

It’s damn good that the police in Europe can cooperate in this way.

The U.S. Treasury Department announced sanctions on April 2 against a network of individuals and entities facilitating Russian arms purchases for the Houthis, a pro-Iranian Shia rebel group in Yemen.

The sanctioned network helped the Houthis acquire “tens of millions of dollars’ worth of commodities from Russia, including weapons and sensitive goods, as well as stolen Ukrainian grain,” according to the Treasury.

    https://kyivindependent.com/ukraine-war-latest-us-imposes-sanctions-on-russian-companies-lifts-sanctions-on-billionaire-rotenbergs-wife/

The connection between the Houthis and Putin is crystal clear. Bombing the Houthis while turning a blind eye to Russia financing them should be news in the USA.

  27. Here we have pre-bid meetings with all the contractors this week and it’s quite lively, but they have a good lunch at the head office that is served around 12 which helps.

I feel like I really need a Friday treat this week and I’m trying to sneak in a Leyende on the shopping list, but it’s important to sharpen the arguments for why it’s a prioritized product.

There will be a post tomorrow about UA’s upcoming aggressive offensive and some other things, I’ll see if I can manage another one on Friday but then it will be a history lesson which might be needed but it has been a hectic week to say the least.

Have you perhaps noticed that Dengamle has been radio silent?
