Ukraine has attacked Saratov, Engels, and Moscow | Russian losses

Reports from residents in Saratov and Samara in Russia indicate that Ukraine has launched drone attacks, resulting in multiple explosions. The attacks targeted the cities of Saratov and Engels, both crucial for the Russian military, war industry, and regular industry. Even Moscow has been visited, with the mayor claiming that nearly 30 drones have been shot down. So far, there are no reports on what exactly has been hit in the attacks, although there are a few images available. More information can be found here, and here, as well as here.

  1. IRAN

“Trump: Considering scaling back the war – other countries to protect the Hormuz

The USA is considering scaling back the Iran war because they are “very close” to achieving their goals, writes Donald Trump on Truth Social.

“The Strait of Hormuz can be guarded and patrolled by other countries that use it – the USA does not!” he continues.

He adds that the USA will assist in this effort if asked, but that it “is unlikely to be necessary” once the Iranian threat is averted.

Earlier in the day, the president said that the USA needs “a lot of help” to open up the Strait of Hormuz, after previously stating that they do not need any help at all.

A number of countries – including Sweden – issued a joint statement on Friday stating that they are ready to take “appropriate measures” to ensure safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The specific measures are not specified.”

“The Pentagon has developed detailed plans to deploy ground forces in Iran, according to sources for CBS News.

Discussions have been held on what would be done with captured Iranian soldiers and paramilitary militiamen and where they would be sent, according to the sources.

Trump commented on the issue of ground forces most recently on Thursday:

    – No, I’m not sending troops anywhere. If I were, I definitely wouldn’t tell you.

His press secretary Karoline Leavitt adds that the Pentagon’s job is to prepare options for Trump, and that does not mean any decision has been made.”

Meanwhile, Ukraine is moderately impressed by the USA:

“Ukrainian experts shocked by the USA’s ineffective air defense: “What are they doing?”
Despite President Trump’s words that “the last person we need help from is Zelensky,” the US Central Command has brought in Ukrainian advisers in the Iran war, reports The Times.

One of them tells the newspaper that he is shocked by how ineffective and wasteful the USA’s air defense is. The Americans fire up to eight Patriot surface-to-air missiles – costing three million dollars each – at individual targets, including cheap drones, he says.

Over four years of war, Ukraine has developed one of the world’s most advanced air defenses. On average, they only fire one or two Patriot missiles to destroy Russian ballistic missiles.

Ukraine shares its tactics with all allies using the American Patriot system, but they still seem to have surpassed the USA, according to the adviser.

    – I don’t understand what they are doing, which direction they have been looking in during the four years we have been at war.”

Personally, I wonder if the war has really unfolded as Trump and the USA envisioned. Not a show of strength when they feel compelled to lift the sanctions against the one they declared war on.

“The USA’s decision to temporarily ease oil sanctions against Iran is met with sharp criticism. Experts warn that the measure could backfire and instead benefit Tehran economically.

    – To put it mildly, this is crazy, says David Tannenbaum, sanctions adviser at Blackstone Compliance Services, to BBC.

According to him, the decision practically allows Iran to sell oil that can finance the war. At the same time, analysts question whether the measure will have a significant impact on energy prices and point out that it contradicts the USA’s previous stance of “maximum pressure”.”

  2. “It’s critically important to take down Russian tactical level kamikaze UAVs. They cause so much trouble for each and every underground bunker of Ukrainian Forces. Also please note the precision of the drone pilot, landed right on top of the Russian Molniya drone!”

  3. “🤬 Russia struck Zaporizhzhia, two children were killed and two were injured. ❗️+ Most of the Chernihiv region is without electricity after a Russian attack on an energy facility in the Nizhyn district.”

  4. Tendar on X: “Ukrainian forces continue to clear the Dnipropetrovsk region from Russian occupation forces. There are only a few pockets remaining until this Ukrainian region has been completely liberated.”

I have poor knowledge of the maps, how much has been mentioned before…

  5. Hormuz Strait: When the pirate attacks raged at their worst off the coast of Somalia, Sweden sent a number of CB 90s. I remember it was successful. They would probably have been like a hand in a glove in the Hormuz Strait.
How did they get there? A Dutch special ship took them to Djibouti.
“Carlskrona” or “Trossö” (can’t remember which) accompanied them as a supply ship.

    1. Have the Ukrainians not pointed out the lack of armor as a problem, even though the boat itself is very competent?

In the Dnieper Delta, perhaps its maneuverability is so important and good that it excuses the lack of protection, but in open water against an opponent that does not consist of opportunistic Somali fishermen with Kalashnikovs, it might be like shooting at sitting ducks as the English saying goes.

      1. Yes, I have read that too. However, they did try for a while to mount an Amos mortar on the boat. But the project never materialized. Trident maybe?

  6. What does Trump want? He wanders around with countless contradictory statements.
    We don’t need help!
    We need help!
    We will end the war.
    We will deploy ground troops.
We will not deploy ground troops.
Iran’s economy will be driven into the ground.
I am easing Iran’s oil sanctions.

He has completely lost it, a lunatic high on cocaine with a shotgun in a daycare center.
We have often talked in these terms, but now it has escalated.

    1. When asked “who is Trump?” the answer is: everything

Edit: by the way, the same answer as to the question “what does Trump want?”

      1. Trump wants something but he can say anything to get there. That’s why he can change his mind or say something just to get others to change theirs. The problem is that he believes he can control the chaos he himself has created. So a lot is probably to get Europe to help out because otherwise the US will leave and those who are more dependent on stability will have to live with the consequences

    2. American domestic politics not always obvious. But certainly much more logical at the federal level than the European one is at the EU level.

Mike Pence praises Trump for his non-isolationism.

Translation: “The former vice president, who has long been an advocate for a strong American deterrent weapon worldwide, emphasized that ”around this administration, and to some extent within it, there have been increasingly strong voices calling for the US to withdraw from its role as leader of the free world. Isolationist voices have gained ground in certain parts of the Republican Party.”

”But fortunately, President Trump turned a deaf ear to these voices last year when he struck against Iran, and this year, when he initiated Operation Epic Fury”, Pence emphasized. ”I think it is very honorable of him.”

Pence argued that it ”reflects where the overwhelming majority of Republicans stand. Republicans understand that America is the arsenal of democracy, that we are leaders of the free world, that we have a duty to lead.

And referring to his former boss during Trump’s first administration, Pence said: “I have told people many times that I am proud of President Trump for making the decision to launch Operation Epic Fury. But I am not surprised, because the president I serve is not an isolationist.

Mike Pence in an interview with Fox News

      1. I meant that the internal contradiction within Trump’s party is a reason for the politics to veer in different directions at the same time. Some kind of social democratic NATO policy, where in the seventies one collaborated with the USA and NATO while condemning the USA and claiming neutrality. In this case, the target audience being misled is not the entire American population but the part of the Republicans who are MAGA and against more wars.

  7. Previous offensives have been persistent. After a day of recovery, the high level of attack has been matched again, or exceeded. After Christmas, the pattern is now that the intensity of the attack on the first day is not repeated but gradually decreases. The same level now as before the offensive three days ago. For every two localized 🇷🇺 attacks, there is one unlocalized (🇺🇦) attack. A setback for the Russian side.

    1. ryzland can well be controlled from at least three other places, namely Putte’s Kremlin-copy-bunkers. There, everything that is needed is said to be available.

      1. Putin is obsessed with security. At official events, he politely toasts but doesn’t drink a drop. He is in constant contact with his security men, whom he communicates with using various hand gestures, like lightly touching his nose or ear.

Putin also doesn’t fly but travels by train. And he has identical copies of his office so that no one knows where he is. It is claimed that Putin was scared by the fact that Ali Khamenei could be located and killed thanks to the internet. An internet that is now shut down in Moscow. It cannot be ruled out that Putin’s pathological need for control will be his downfall.

  8. Several people are writing that the oil refinery has been hit, while using the same image that is used for the news that two chemical plants were hit.
“⚡️AFU struck the facilities of the Saratov Oil Refinery. As of 2023, the processing volume was 4.8 million tons. 🔥According to preliminary information, the secondary oil processing unit and the RVS-10000 vertical tank were damaged.”

  9. “Z Patriots of Russia” have started publicly criticizing the government. The reasons: Telegram bans; internet and communication problems:

forced slaughter of livestock on farms in several Russian regions. Indignant videos are being made by popular pro-Putin bloggers, urging Putin to improve the situation. What will happen to them is predictable. Recently, Putin critic Ilya Remeslo – a “Z patriot” who made a lot of noise in Russia with his calls for a trial and Putin’s resignation – was sent to a psychiatric hospital in Saint Petersburg. Too late to film Reels, comrades.”

  10. “Trump on Orbán: ‘Hope he wins big’

US President Donald Trump expresses his support for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in a video message at the CPAC conference in Budapest. This is reported by the Hungarian independent news site Telex.hu.

‘I hope he wins. I hope he wins big. And despite all the attacks, one must understand: He continues to win – that’s what we all have in common. We want to win,’ Trump continues.

Viktor Orbán is running for re-election, but his 16-year-long hold on power is being challenged. In several opinion polls, he is behind opposition leader Péter Magyar, even though Orbán is backed by some of the world’s most powerful leaders.

The Hungarian leader responded to the video by showering Trump with his own praises in his speech at the conference.

‘The Western world has become a better place since Trump’s victory,’ he says, according to the Hungarian news site 444.”

The Partisan Group Atesh – Spies and saboteurs behind the Russians’ lines

Atesh was formed in September 2022 after Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine and consisted primarily of resistance fighters from the Crimean Tatar population group and some Ukrainians from the start. The Tatars living in Crimea had been subjected to terrible decades-long persecutions by the Russians, especially during Stalin’s atrocious oppression.

In 1944, nearly a quarter of a million people were deported from Crimea because Stalin had convinced himself that the population had collaborated in the German invasion (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimean_Tatars). In general, the displaced ended up in Central Asia. However, it had not been any difficulty at all for him and the hated counterintelligence agency Smersh to see the tens of thousands of Tatars who fought for the Red Army and were under Russian officers. Additionally, there were a large number of Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, and virtually all other ethnic groups who gladly helped German troops fight against the Red Army and NKVD troops. If Hitler, Goebbels, and Himmler had not been so blinded by their own racism, they could surely have persuaded millions of Soviet citizens to fight against Stalin and the Red Army. The problem then would have been that masses of Soviet citizens and German soldiers ended up on the same side in the fighting, which prevented the German propaganda from having full effect. Only in 1987 did the Russians in Moscow give the Tatars the opportunity to start moving back to their homeland Crimea.

    The 2022 Invasion
When Russia’s second invasion swept over Ukraine’s borders in February 2022, Crimea had already been occupied since 2014. The battles of the World War and the subsequent oppression have forced the Tatars to work underground decade after decade. In order not to risk being exterminated by the oppressors in Moscow, they have constantly worked to strengthen the Tatars’ culture and language (which is not Russian!). Since 2014, the Russians have systematically tried to destroy the centuries-old culture of the Tatars and have demolished important buildings that have been examples of their culture. This is just another example of Moscow’s extensive war crimes.

With Atesh, the Tatars have expanded their struggle for their own people and have been able to receive support from both Ukrainians and Russians, as well as from other peoples. The Crimean Tatars’ fight against Moscow is something that benefits all non-Russian ethnic groups. As Atesh has expanded its operations away from the Ukrainian-occupied areas and onto the Russian military units, they have been able to leverage the goodwill they have received in the fight for their culture.

    With Weapons in Hand
Even though Atesh conducts an extensive armed struggle against the invading Russians, they probably do more good as intelligence agents. By slowly but surely infiltrating their employees into the Russian units, Atesh today has its infiltrators in at least 30 different Russian units. By following their Telegram channel https://t.me/s/atesh_ua/, you get plenty of news that provides a wealth of details, including which units Atesh has infiltrated its people into, at least three airborne divisions within the VDV, and at least five PDP regiments. At least 7 motorized rifle regiments have been infiltrated by Atesh, as well as at least three motorized rifle brigades. An impressive number!

In addition to acting as infiltrators and spies, Atesh members function as highly long-term saboteurs. They have several times published detailed sabotage manuals on their Telegram channel.

Atesh has also launched several extensive cyber attacks. In December 2025, the Tatars managed to sabotage Russia’s military conscription authority and two of Russia’s largest banks (https://t.me/s/CyberATESH/).

Feel free to continue following Atesh on their various Telegram channels.

  12. Russia is imprisoning pensioners en masse in the occupied territories of Ukraine. In the past month, four sentences have been handed down in the Zaporizhzhia region alone.

Our poor people, living under Russian occupation. Pensioners who dream of liberation and try to support our army, transferring money from their pensions, are unaware that they are being watched and that, despite their age, they may be tortured and thrown into prison.

I want to tell them all: we haven’t forgotten about you for a single moment. Stay low, take care of yourselves, and protect your lives. We are doing everything we can to liberate you and our lands.
