Just want to say to those who want NATO into Ukraine, guess how it would have sounded if NATO had imposed a no-fly zone or ground troops. Covert ops is actually the model because I think Russia’s population is far along here and if you get an entire country on a war footing for real, it will be drawn out. Putin will try anyway but it will be harder to succeed when it’s only Ukraine.

They try on pro-Russian forums to make these volunteers out to be NATO involved but that is too small a nail to cook their soup on. As long as things go this well for Ukraine, and they themselves say we are fighting give us weapons, I think that is the right way. The world is not fair and Ukraine gets EU membership as thanks for all the dead children (irony, I think we have done too little). However, they should be given more offensive weapons and that very quickly.

That the USA has a large presence in the Ukrainian staff I think has leaked out, that Western SOF roam around behind the Russians as well, what we don’t really know is how many of these destroyed depots are Western covert ops but I would be surprised if all are Ukrainian since it’s New Year all week in bigger hubs. Just want to say with that that Ukraine is not alone and we will find out about this after the war.

Something I also think we forget is that the West has probably sent its best PR spin doctors to Ukraine because they have done exactly everything right, don’t exaggerate, report honestly, be humane, victims but still strong, counter the Russians’ false information directly etc. Russia lost the PR war with Bucha and no one really listens to them anymore.
Does anyone know how it went at the UN when Lavrov was to defend himself against the false accusation and satellite images had just come 🙂

Yes, they just made it before the knocked-out IFVs which number 1976 and sniff the magical number 2000.
These are purely astronomical losses and when it comes to helicopters and aircraft, surely some are on the ground after their missions so airworthy is probably higher. Looking at the Russians’ losses in armor you understand that it can’t be easy to get new materiel here and someone in the thread has probably shown that knocked-out tanks last week are older modifications of the T72 and that T80/T90/T72 new have gone down sharply?

The number of knocked-out air defenses steadily ticks upward, was 3 in the last update and now 2. I get the feeling that Ukraine is actively knocking out the Russians’ air defenses right now. Mig29 is also mentioned continuously so something is underway against the Russians’ air supremacy.
It’s a bit vague what is being knocked out but if you take out one radar, a whole battery is useless, basically.

I have probably thought of parking Mariupol but one note is that the Ukrainians are starting to lose the port from the south.
The port is long and narrow and widest in the northern part so probably easier to defend there.
Now it’s quite unclear who is defending what and which units are in the area but early on it was a mechanized brigade holding the southern part if I remember correctly.

Anyway, as the southern pocket gets smaller they will need to make a bull rush to Azovstal as well, whichever units those are. Unfortunately, the Russians have pushed down a wedge towards what I think is the fishing port and between the port and the fishing port there is a large green area.

Azovstal can’t possibly be taken if it’s even half as tough as we guess so there we can probably calm down.

Russian media has gone completely crazy after the natural scrapping of Moskva in something that can best be compared to the Reichstag fire in Germany, they scream-talk at prime time, very high-pitched tone.

Such an escalation can only end one way for Russia and one can only hope that it is slowly dawning on the military leadership that they are done for and that it’s not the time for nukes so that it is simply refused by order. Russian military also have families and it would take a whole chain of command breaking for Sergei to finally turn the key and press the button.

Moskva lay between Crimea and Snake Island at a comfortable shooting distance for Ukrainian Neptunes which they knew existed. Harpoon probably had shorter range, 80 miles I thought I read but you could have attached those to a small boat and slipped under radar. The conclusion should be that Moskva was not particularly worried about being sunk, I think?

What happens, yes two Neptune missiles flying at subsonic speed make such a big bang that the ship practically sinks in an hour, it is also reported that they distracted Moskva’s fire control with a drone! This is somewhat incredible as missiles are mostly supposed to cause damage to the superstructure and sinking is done with torpedoes and the fire control should still be able to handle three targets of which one is a damn drone?

Either the Russian navy is just as damn bad as we think or an American submarine fired two torpedoes at the same time as the missiles, I believe option one based on what we have seen in the war so far. Somewhat historic this and on par with the Russians’ attempt to tame Japan in 1905, I think.

Absolutely a gas stop and all weapons available. I do not agree with a NFZ because it would lead to an air battle NATO-Russia.
However, I have thought about whether Poland could send all pilots who want to volunteer to Ukraine, which would probably be all pilots + the reserves and they get to fly their Mig29s that are donated to Ukraine.
That is, it has absolutely nothing to do with NATO but serves the same function if not better because the goal is the annihilation of the RAF, not just an NFZ.
What can Russia do, we are going to invade Poland now, with what?

For example, BLM quickly became purely Marxist in its rhetoric and all these movements seem to slide into a hatred of the USA that grew by magnitudes with Trump in power, so I am quite sure these groups blend into each other and that someone is pulling strings here and there.
Even Jonas Sjöstedt congratulated Venezuela’s president Maduro on his birthday, he who eats lobster cooked by a Turkish celebrity chef while 90% of the country starves, so ideology is hard to get rid of.
